"He asked if I was gay and if this was representative of the life I was living." Stonewall Sports DC levels up
This story is brought to you by our partners at Stonewall Sports DC.For more than a decade, Stonewall Sports DC has been a home base for LGBTQIA+ athletes and allies looking for competition and community. Now, the organization is stepping into its next chapter with the launch of a city-wide organizational model designed to ensure consistency, sustainability, and growth across all of its leagues.Under the new structure, each sport - from kickball to volleyball - will continue to preserve its own volunteer leadership and community culture. But the day-to-day will be supported by a centralized board responsible for strategic planning, finances, partnerships, and cross-league programming. The goal: stronger coordination, more resources, and an even greater impact across the District. Our leagues have flourished because of the dedication of our volunteers and participants, said Stu Wales, President of Stonewall Sports DC. This city-wide model allows us to preserve the character of each sport while delivering coordinated, high-quality experiences across the District. That consistency also opens the door for expansion. As we grow, we can bring in new sports and activities, meet people where they are, and open even more inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ athletes and allies across the District, added Virginie Adams, Vice President of Programs. The new model centralizes sponsorship and fundraising efforts, a move that creates bigger opportunities for long-term partners and directly reinvests resources back into leagues and community programming. By unifying these efforts, we are better positioned to secure larger partnerships, eliminate redundancies, and reinvest more resources directly into our leagues and community programs, said Anthony Ortman, Director of Sponsorships. To celebrate this milestone - and the 15th anniversary of Stonewall Sports DC - the organization is hosting a Gala on October 18 at the JW Marriott. The event will honor the past, celebrate the present, and set the stage for the future of LGBTQIA+ sports in Washington. Tickets are available now through Eventbrite until October 10.Stonewall Sports DC is inviting community members, partners, and sponsors to be part of this next chapter. After all, the organizations growth reflects the energy of the people who play, volunteer, and cheer. Together, the leagues are proving that sports arent just about the game - theyre about building community that lasts.Media Contact:Stu WalesPresident, Stonewall Sports DCstuart.wales@stonewallsports.orgAbout Stonewall Sports DCFounded in 2010, Stonewall Sports DC is a nonprofit sports league that provides a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to connect through sports. The lie thats killing queer men
In Palm Springs and all over the country, crystal meth isn't hiding. It's in motel rooms, pool parties, and vacation itineraries. It's in the hands of those trading meth for sex. Escorts carry it in, hand it off to new arrivals, and pass it down like an invitation. Everyone knows. And no one in power will talk about it.Crystal meth is tearing through the queer community throughout the nation, and we have normalized it. Casual meth use is practically an initiation in some circles. It's discussed openly in the gym, over brunch, and while making plans for the upcoming tea dance."Just once" becomes twice. Then a weekend. Then a habit. Then the disappearance. Then, too often, a funeral. And we, a community that once fought and bled to survive, are now complicit in the silence. But this is not new. Queer men have always been asked to lie. To hide. To perform respectability while enduring violence, addiction, or shame behind closed doors. Meth, in this sense, is just the latest chapter in a much older pattern. We have seen this before. When the police stormed the Stonewall Inn in 1969, queer people revolted. Not because they were radicals but because they were tired of pretending they were safe. When Harvey Milk was assassinated in 1978, men took to the streets, grieving loudly, refusing the lie of dignity without justice during the "White Night" riot. When AIDS came, and no one would help us, we helped ourselves. We created clinics, buddy systems, meal services, and hospice care in our own homes. We did not wait. We did not ask permission to fight for our own lives. And yet here we are. Meth has infiltrated our community, and those in power look the other way, or worse, protect the system. In Palm Springs and around the country, we see users being shamed and shunned while watching large-scale dealers operate with police protection. Not a rumor. Not a conspiracy. Many cities survive on tourism. On fantasy. And meth fuels both. Some refer to it as "party culture." But let's name it plainly for what it is: an epidemic. There's an underground railroad in gay vacation culture. Visitors arrive. They hire an escort. The escort brings meth. They all use. When they want more, they're given the name of a dealer for the rest of their stay. It's seamless. It's accepted. And it is killing people.Dating profiles scream out, "NO TWEEKERS." Yet, I've never seen a profile declaring "NO ALCOHOLICS" or "NO PILL POPPERS." Shame forces users into silence. Shunning turns relapse into disappearance. Services are few. Beds are scarce. Judgement is rampant. Even those who want help often lie, not because they're dishonest, but because they've learned that honesty gets them rejected faster than meth ever did.And so we lose them.In our shame, we say it was a heart attack. Or depression. Or just someone who "disappeared." The truth is, meth destroyed them, and silence buried them.We owe them better. This is not an attack on our community. It is a plea to remember who we are. We've fought before and we've won. We've stared down shame, grief, and systemic failure, and we've built life-saving networks from ashes. We are capable of more than silence. So I ask: where are the forums? The task forces? The beds? The housing-first interventions? The inclusion of addicts and former users in leadership and decision-making? Where is the acknowledgment that the queer community cannot afford to lose another generation of men to another preventable epidemic? What we need is what we've always needed: Truth, compassion, and action. We don't need to be perfect. But we need to stop pretending this isn't happening. Because the lie we ask queer men to live is that they're fine, welcome only if clean, and that meth is just a phase.Only it's not, and it's killing them.Cosgrove Norstadt is a writer, activist, and living archive of love, loss, and survival.Voices is dedicated to featuring a wide range of inspiring personal stories and impactful opinions from the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. After the Hunt's Ayo Edeberi & Julia Roberts on queer infatuation and power dynamics
An early scene in After the Hunt sees promising PhD student Maggie pushing back against an assertion by cool, handsome professor Hank that for her generation, offending someone has become the preeminent sin. Theyre seated casually around a parlor at the home of another professor, Alma, whose slightly oversized suit jacket Maggie has emulated in her look. Its the first hint in Challengers and Queer director Luca Guadagninos latest film that Maggie, a queer woman, is overly attached to her mentor. Boundaries of admiration, sexual and romantic attraction, and obsession are obscured for Maggie. My friend and I used to have this joke that for straight people it's like, f*ck, marry, kill. But for queer people, it's like, f*ck befriend, or become. Just those feelings you're sort of like, Where am I? And sometimes it literally could change in a day or all at once, Ayo Edebiri, who plays Maggie, tells Out. And so when I think of Maggie, she's very much wanting all of it. Andrew Garfield as Hank and Julia Roberts as Alma in After the Hunt Courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios Set in academia with a sexual assault allegation at its core, After the Hunt, from screenwriter Nora Garrett, serves up purposeful moral ambiguity around its characters. Julia Robertss Alma and her longtime friend and colleague Hank (Andrew Garfield) are philosophy professors competing for tenure in Yale Universitys hallowed halls. When Maggie approaches Alma with news that Hank "crossed the line" with her, Alma reluctantly sides with her student, not her friend, while failing to reckon with her personal views about what constitutes abuse of power. Almas world crumbles, and still, she clings to the idea of making tenure, something that may or may not skew her loyalty.I think power dynamics is sort of the key, Oscar winner Roberts says.Alma has had this scratch-and-claw career. And now she's at a place where she's the duck on the pond where you don't see the feet going [under water], and she just looks like it's smooth sailing, she adds. I think for her, this sort of power dynamic between [Alma and Maggie], what goes on with Hank, all these things, these are the daily voices in her head that she pretends she has complete control over. So there's a lot going on all the time with everybody in this. Ayo Edeberi, Julia Roberts, and Luca Guadagnino Courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios / Credit: Yannis DrakoulidisAs Maggie, Edebiri, a star of queer projects like Bottoms and Theater Camp, plays a character who hails from wealth and is in a loving relationship with a law student, Alex, played by trans actor Lo Mehiel. Still, she's a Black queer woman searching for identity in a rarified academic setting. Maggie's desire to be with and to be Alma, and her subsequent disappointment in her mentor, fuel the plot. There's a real pedestal that she puts Alma on that I don't even think she realizes how high it is because Alma represents so many things, Edebiri says. Even though she is out and she is living at several intersections of just identity, I think there's a lot that Maggie is suppressing and suppressing to herself, things she doesn't even want to know but that are obviously broiling underneath. And so I think that sort of desire meeting all of this suppression just ends up being this really wild pressure cooker for a lot of fascinating choices.Watch the interview with Ayo Edebiri and Julia Roberts above. After the Hunt is in select theaters on October 10 and in wide release on October 17.

Anthony Boyle didnt wear a prosthetic in House of Guinness full frontal
House of Guinness breakout star Anthony Boyle who made waves on social media with a fully naked scene on the Netflix show and several queer hookups along the way revealed that he didnt wear a prosthetic during that full frontal scene. Its my own body, the actor noted.Episode 3 of the series showed Arthur Guinness (Boyles character) smoking while taking a bath, then getting up from the bathtub completely naked, giving fans a full view of the actors front and back. When asked by Mens Health if he used a prosthetic for the scene, Boyle replied: Its not a prosthetic. Its my own body. The only other character in the scene is an older male servant who gives Arthur a towel to dry off. Despite that power dynamic already being clear, Arthur still seemed disdainful of the servant, which prompted Boyle to come up with a more impactful version of the scene that involved him being completely naked.I sort of wrote that aspect into the scene, the actor told the publication. It was the night before we were filming, and [Arthur] was in the script originally meant to be getting his cufflinks on by the mirror. That felt a bit boring, so I called the director and said, I think he should be smoking and drinking whiskey in the bath, and he should be completely naked and just get up, to show that he owns the whole fucking world. Anthony Boyle as Arthur Guinness on House of Guinness.NetflixBoyle added, He wouldnt even have to say anything to say, Im above these servants. This is my world. I am dominant, and I control everything. Thats what I wanted to show.Well, mission accomplished!Elsewhere in the interview, Boyle was asked about House of Guinness leaning into the rumors that Arthur was actually queer. Even though authors like Joe Joyce had already written books like 2009s The Guinnesses: The Untold Story of Irelands Most Successful Family and had concluded that Arthur Guinness was likely a gay man after doing extensive research the character had never been portrayed as such in a high-profile project as big as this Netflix series.I didnt know much about the Guinness family and everything was new to me. I was learning, the actor explained. One thing Steven [Knight], who wrote the show, and I really wanted to get right is that we didnt ever feel like Arthur should be ashamed of his sexuality. He should be proud of it the world around him got it wrong, but he knew who he was and felt pride in that.Boyle concluded, People have been gay from the dawn of time, and if we dont follow the clues and write these people into history, then were writing them out of history. With a role like Arthur, the clues about everything are there, so if we were just to pretend that he wasnt gay, we would be doing a disservice to everyone and to history.House of Guinness is streaming on Netflix. Boulet Brothers on Dragula: Titans S2, costume fails, and filling Elviras shoes
Get ready, uglies, because the most gargantuan drag, filth, horror, and glamour-filled season of The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans yet is premiering on AMC+ and Shudder on October 7. From the looks of the all-new trailer, this motley crew of drag monsters will be pushed to their limits and the cauldron seems filled to the brim with a whole lot of bad blood, cold sweat, and emotional tears.Touted as bigger, darker, and more unrelenting than anything weve done before, The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans season 2 sees the return of 14 cutthroat competitors, most of whom are finalists and/or fan favorites from previous seasons. With a crown, the $100,000 grand prize, a headlining spot on a forthcoming world tour, and the title of Queen of the Underworld at stake, these redemption-hungry Titans are undoubtedly going to clash.Dracmorda and Swanthula, the macabre masterminds behind The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans and its flagship series, have been busy horror hosts these days. Not only did they just embark on The Boulet Brothers Dragula 666 Official U.S. Tour (a sacrilegious stage show you totally missed out on if you didnt go), theyve also been anointed as the official hosts of this years Knotts Scary Farm, where theyll be making special meet-and-greets on select nights. Not only that, but it is All Hallows Eve season, which means theyll also be throwing their annual Halloween Ball in Los Angeles as well as a spook-tacular Halloween House Party in Boston on October 31.Just days after completing their 22-date U.S. tour, the Emmy-nominated diabolical duo took some time to chat with Out about the selection process of their returning contestants in The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans season 2, how they might fare in one of their own fearsome extermination challenges if the tables were turned, and the over-the-moon excitement they have for their Knotts Scary Farm gig. See on Instagram Out: The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans season 2 sees the return of 14 former contestants. Was it an easy selection process or did the two of you ever have strong disagreements about who should and shouldn't return?Dracmorda: I think in general we're pretty aligned on our decisions, because we see the clay that we're molding in a similar way. With this season in particular, we really wanted it to be a monumental season that only happens every couple of years. And so we decided to pick, firstly, from the top three from all the seasons of the entire series. So that was our first thing. Then outside of that, we were like, Who are there people that are iconic to Dragula? Meaning, when you think of the brand, their faces come to mind. We need a couple of those as well. Lastly, we looked at people we thought had a lot of potential and great star quality, but they weren't quite there in their season but they've grown since their season.Your press release describes The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans Season 2 as the biggest, darkest and most unrelenting season thats ever been filmed. One of my favorite aspects of the show are the extermination challenges. When youre cooking up twisted ways to torment your contestants, have you ever been told that some of your extermination ideas are too extreme or too dangerous?Swanthula: Well, we have a great relationship with the overarching companies like AMC+ and Shudder. We don't get notes per se. They want us to do us. So they really put a lot of trust in us. And I think that's why you get a very true vision of what the crossroads of queerness, drag, and horror looks like. Now, do we have conflicts about things being too extreme? Absolutely. In-house. Like, we have this war board meeting every season where we talk about everything from the competitors to the fright feats to the exterminations. Historically, Drac likes to take it to an extreme that I have to pull back from. I'm like, Well, we don't want them actually dead or legitimately lost in the ocean, so we cant really do that per se.Dracmorda: That's the danger of owning a production company: the only person that's going to say no to you is you. So it can be dangerous. If the tables were ever turned and you were contestants on your own show, is there an extermination challenge from the history of The Boulet Brothers Dragula that would absolutely devastate you or one you might flat out refuse to do?Dracmorda: For me, I would hate to do a lot of them, but there is no way that I would not do them. Theres plenty of Xanax in the world. Like, its all about facing your fears. And I would do whatever I had to do. I would never not do a challenge.Swanthula: For me, the physical stuff is a thrill. I'm a thrill seeker. I'll do anything. But the one thing that is my Achilles heel, because it's involuntary, is if I have to eat some kind of nasty concoction that someone brewed up to make me vomit. Like, that's what's going to happen. It's so easy for that to happen for me. The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans season 2 cast and judges.Shudder/AMC+Do you see yourselves building up to an all-winners season of Titans? Like, maybe when you have 13 seasons under your belt, 13 winners might be a good number to do it. But do you think it would be a good idea to bring back the winner of every single season when you have enough monsters to bring back?Swanthula: I love that you just put that into words: 13 seasons with 13 winners. Like, okay, that's going to float around in my mind now for a while. [Laughs]Dracmorda: Yea, we've talked about it. It really depends because sometimes the winners, they're like, Phew, I got out of that experience and I won and nothing weird happened. So I don't know if I want to risk it again. Because what are the chances that you win a second time? So it really depends on the cast and if the winners would want to do it. I definitely think some of them would, but some of the others, I'm not sure.Another favorite element of the show is, of course, the drama. There must be days and hours of footage per episode. So I can only imagine what it's like whittling all that down to a 60-minute episode. You must have to sacrifice so much juicy footage from the lab or the cauldron when you edit these things down.Swanthula: That happens every episode.Dracmorda: We film for three or four days per episode, so you've got to imagine there is a ton of footage, and it's a real process to get it down to an hour. There's a lot of stuff you want to include, but I think we've gotten a little better about killing babies as they call it.You guys must have eyes and ears everywhere. You're not in the cauldron or the lab, for example. So I would imagine youre immediately shown dailies or your team provides intel, like, so-and-so fought with so-and-so.Swanthula: Drac and I are very hands-on in the filming and the production of the show. So we're not in the room, but we have eyes and ears right there. We can watch what's happening as it's happening, or we'll just look at the footage in the dailies, which we get. And also some of the other producers will inform us, like, Oh, this happened and it was amazing. And that will guide the consecutive episodes and the story arc.Dracmorda: Actually, you see something in the trailer that came out today that shows a little behind the scenes where we react live on set to conversations that are happening outside of the soundstage. And we confront the person, so you'll see how closely connected to it we are. The only times we're usually not on set is if we have to get in drag ourselves or we're in a meeting. So otherwise we're on set and we're around. And even when we're getting ready, sometimes we'll leave our headsets on so we can hear all the conversations happening in all the different rooms. If something sparks your interest, you're like, Oop, mark that down. We need to do that.Swanthula: Oftentimes, you'll forget that youre miked. And they'll leave the stage and continue to talk and not realize that theres probably like 10 people listening to everything that they're saying. Its kind of incredible. See on Instagram As the show goes on, does it get more challenging for you to come up with unique themes, ideas, or new twists on some of your traditional challenges?Swanthula: It's been a long road with Dragula so far. Weve been producing the show now for a better part of 10 years. But I have to say this: We have not come to the bridge yet where it is hard or difficult or challenging for us to come up with challenges. Like, Drac and I are in a never-ending creative conversation. We both have overactive imaginations and we support each other's kind of craziness. So it ping pongs back and forth. And if anything, I feel like we have ideas for at least three or four more seasons, without even thinking about it.Do you have a wish list of guest judges that you haven't been able to obtain yet or maybe some who are interested, but they just haven't been available?Dracmorda: I wanted to get Jamie Lee Curtis on a Halloween House Party episode for a while. She was interested. It's really about finding the right timing. Because a lot of these people are extremely busy and we only shoot at a certain point of time in the year. So there have been people who have just not been available. I wanted to have Kim Petras on a couple of years ago. John Waters, I'd love to have him on too. I don't know why that's never happened yet.Swanthula: John Waters was at the top of my list, but we've talked about Stephen King. Also, I think Fairuza Balk would be a great guest judge and I think people would love to see that.If I may throw one into the mix, I would flip if you ever got Siouxsie Sioux.Dracmorda: Oh, yeah. That's another one I was going to say, although I don't think she would do it. I don't know.I would die if that ever happened.Swanthula: Your corpse would be right next to mine. I used to give that as an answer every time someone would ask that question, but I've now just given up and I accept that she's kind of a hermit and has disappeared from public life. The Boulet Brothers in promotional image for The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans season 2. Scotty KirbyIf there was a deceased horror legend from the past you could bring back from the dead to be a guest judge, who would it be?Dracmorda: Oh, Vincent Price for sure. Vampyra too, definitely. Divine. That would be good.Swanthula: Oh my God. I'm gonna say you nailed it with Vincent Price. Like, just the career span is huge and I think, what a queen, and I just love him.Dracmorda: Yeah, maybe James Whale. That's a little deeper cut, but I think I'd love to see what his thoughts were on the evolution of queerness and horror. You two always serve such wickedly stunning outfits every time you hit the runway. How far in advance do you plan out your outfits for the season? You must have so many people wanting to design stuff for you.Dracmorda: When we get into pre-production, that's when I usually start trying to figure it all out. We don't have a lot of designers reaching out to us, believe it or not. I think that they think we have our people that we use and that's it. So we don't get a lot of people hitting us up like that. And there's a couple of designers we work with regularly. Mindy L'Amour is probably the one we work with the most. Marco's Wigs in Italy does all of our hair. And usually, maybe three months out from when we were actually wearing it. That changes sometimes because disasters do occur. So sometimes you'll see us wearing an outfit on one episode that it absolutely was not intended for.Swanthula: Here's a story from Season 6. Wearing latex sucks. It looks incredible, but it's very uncomfortable. Couple it with drag, and it's a living nightmare. And we shoot for 10 to 12 hours a day. So we had this one episode and we had the biggest wigs we could be wearing that season. And these skin-tight skeleton latex catsuits. So I lube up my body as one does and get in my latex. And I'm ready, I'm heeled, I have my claws on. I'm blinded and my giant wig is there and I'm walking down the hall to Drac's green room. And I hear, Oh my God, and this sound and I'm like, What's happening in there? And Drac's assistant just pulled the jumpsuit the wrong way and the whole thing just snapped like a rubber band and ripped right up the back. So, yea, I had to change. A three-hour snafu because we had to rearrange all of the costumes for the rest of the season because we couldn't wear the catsuit. But you just got to keep it moving. When youre shooting your floor shows, so many of your contestants have these gore effects that leave blood and guts all over the floor. It must take hours to clean all that up and then redo it all over again.Dracmorda: It's horrible. It takes so long. You'll be sitting there for one floor show that you watch on the show that's like five minutes long. But its like an entire day for us. They do their thing. And then you have to clean the whole stage again so when the next person comes out, it's fresh. Sometimes you'll have to do a second take. So they have to do it all over again. The worst part about it is the smell. Because a lot of people like to use real props. So when someone comes out and covers themselves in fish guts or whatever it is, it's bad. And it stays with the set for a couple of days. So that's the worst part of it to me. See on Instagram Youre the official hosts of this years Knotts Scary Farm and youre set to make special appearances this year. Does this mean you're going to eventually fill the shoes of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and do a regular stage show maybe starting next year?Dracmorda: Flat out, the answer is yes. We want to do a classic, horrifying Halloween show. We want it to be a variety show from all sorts of different talents, but we really want to bring the focus back to classic Halloween and horror. We want to bring the fear into the stage show. And we're really excited about it, honestly. This year was our introduction to the crowd. Next year, we'll be moving into a different direction.Swanthula: They're integrating us this year the best they can. What a natural marriage in hell for us to be there. And we did their Nightmares Revealed event, and I was like, Okay, this is the moment. This is when we're going to be in front of a completely different audience. And there were like 3,000 people there and they ate it up. It was amazing.Dracmorda: I think we'll bring something different. There's always been a horror host at Knotts: Elvira, Wolfman Jack, Sinister Seymour. Obviously, no one could fill Elviras shoes, but I think we'll bring our own interpretation of hosting Knotts. We're really into the history and the IP and the ideas and the concepts. So it's probably one of the things I'm happier about that's happened in our career.Swanthula: Oh my God, I can't overstate it. It's something that we've been trying to really maneuver through for the past couple of years. And this year it's coming to fruition. That's why your comment about Season 13 scratches the edge of my brain because sometimes things take time to manifest. But this one we are super excited about it. I think I'm more excited about the Knotts marriage than I was about the Emmy nominations.Elvira did her Knotts stage show for 31 years. Are you guys in it for the long haul? In fact, what do you envision for the future of The Boulet Brothers brand and how long do you see yourselves doing drag? What do you see yourself tapping into next? Perhaps feature-length horror films?Dracmorda: Obviously, we love being horror hosts, so we'll do that for a million years, hopefully, two lifetimes. But as far as where things are leaning, I think our career is taking us into a scripted place. So feature films, specials for streamers, things like that. I think you'd see a different side of us, you know, like the type of horror that we would want to make, I think would be exciting for people to see.The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 7 on Shudder and AMC+.

JoJo Siwa fan breaks silence after getting kicked out of a concert
At a show last week, JoJo Siwa kicked a fan and accused them of making fun of her with a hoodie that had an unflattering meme of her as an egg, which is a joke about her hairline. A person who claims to be the fan who was kicked out uploaded a video to TikTok, explaining what happened. A TikToker with the username @friendly_musician shared a video over the weekend apologizing to Siwa, saying they meant no harm by their actions and thought she had a better sense of humor."Me and my friend, we didnt have any merch so we were like, 'Oh what are we going to wear?' and we were like, 'Oh, lets just print out a picture and stick it on our clothes and it will be funny and JoJo has a good sense of humor so shell laugh as well,'" the person said in the video. "We just googled 'funny JoJo Siwa pictures' and screenshotted the first thing that came up.We didn't look where it was from or anything like that."They go on to say that Siwa then asked what everyone was wearing and they felt it was their opportunity to make the singer laugh, so they gave her their sweater, hoping she would enjoy the joke but she didn't. This is when they were escorted out of the. show. The TikToker said that they were "about to have a panic attack because they were never kicked out of a show before."The apology came as text overlayed over the video and in the caption, they explain, "this apology is completely genuine, if it doesn't seem like it is I'm autistic and I usually seem really bored or laughing when trying to do something important @friendly_musician hi! I'm one of the people that was kicked out at jojos concert on Wednesday in Glasgow jojo siwa getting kicked out in Glasgow apology and explanation me and my best friend were really looking forward to seeing JoJo originally as a joke but then she started really growing on us and i was genuinely really looking forward to seeing her since she seems pretty cool!! we didn't have any merch so we decided to just print off the first picture we saw and stick it on our clothes, we didn't look at the back story behind it or know it would be a trigger for her, else we absolutely would not have done that. none of it was with malicious intent. we didn't throw it at her we passed it to her like she asked. this apology is completely genuine, if it doesn't seem like it is I'm autistic and I usually seem really bored or laughing when trying to do something important. #jojosiwa #jojosiwakickedout #banned #sorry #apology @JoJo Siwa @Jessalynn Siwa @Chris Hughes @Jayden Siwa Videos from that night show the singer, who is currently embarked on her Infinity Heart tour and performing in Glasgow, speaking to someone in the audience and asking them to leave. When the person refuses, she says, "Thank you for coming, I appreciate it, but we only got room for infinity hearts in here, right? and added, "Not in my house baby."

Did Alexander Skarsgrd just casually come out? Here's why fans are losing it
Fans are questioning whether Alexander Skarsgrd just casually copped to having experiences with both men and women during a recent film festival conversation. The True Blood star has been in the middle of promoting his new film, Pillion, about a kinky gay biker (Skarsgrd) who strikes up a D/s relationship with a wallflower named Colin (Harry Melling). During a recent appearance at the Zurich Film Festival, he spoke candidly about what drew him to the film and how he approached the role."I found that in this case, its not really relevant what my background is. I mean, I do have a kid, but what Ive done in the past, who Ive been with, men, women To me, what was important was that this felt like an opportunity to tell a story about a subculture I hadnt seen portrayed this way with so much authenticity," Skarsgrd said, according to Variety. It didn't take long for people to pounce on the "who I've been with, men, women" portion of what he said and question whether that actually meant he was admitting to having been with both men and women. (@) Admittedly, the other reading of Skarsgrd's statement is that he's saying it doesn't matter if he's been with men or women, rather than that he has been with men and women, but... sometimes in life you have to make a choice, and people are choosing to go with the interpretation that sparks joy."He had too much chemistry with literally everyone in True Blood for him to be straight," wrote one X user."Yea he BEEN that James Dean/Richard Pryor type sexual," said another. "A man who knows hes that fine is fucking everyone." (@) "I feel like Alexander Skarsgrd is very much a case of 'Im an actor. Of course Ive had gay sex.'" (@) "Well you dont get to be that hot by being straight!!!!" (@) Adding fuel to the fire, at another point in the conversation, Skarsgrd did admit that he has "a little bit of experience from that world" of leather gays and pushed back against the idea that it's in anyway scary or dark. He also said that when he first read the script for Pillion, he was worried it would include some twist where his character secretly has a wife, and was thrilled to discover that wasn't the case."We had a joint after party with a Nigerian film where homosexuality is illegal," he added. "It was the first Nigerian film ever to play at Cannes Film Festival, so there were ambassadors and politicians from Nigeria we had our kinky gay bikers in leather harnesses and Paul in his pup mask. It was pretty beautiful to watch."

Bowen Yang's 'SNL' wardrobe malfunction didn't stop him from roasting J.K. Rowling
Bowen Yang isn't going to let a little exposed skin stop him from roasting J.K. Rowling! The Saturday Night Live star returned for the season premiere of the legendary sketch comedy show's 51st season this weekend, where he once again went viral for a Weekend Update character. The season premiere aired Saturday, with Bad Bunny hosting and Doja Cat as the musical guest. But it was Yang who made the biggest splash of the night, both with his great character work and a surprise wardrobe malfunction.During Weekend Update, Yang came out to the desk dressed as Dobby, the house elf from the Harry Potter books and films, and weighed in on that author's transphobia. As soon as he joined the desk, Dobby was visibly nervous. "Why would Dobby be scared, sir? Dobby's just about to publicly weigh in on trans people, that's all," Yang told the Weekend Update hosts, referencing the feud between Rowling and former Harry Potter actor Emma Watson. "Master sent Dobby to go on the telly and define once and for all what a woman is, sir."As background, Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the films, said in a recent interview that she still loves Rowling and is "grateful" towards her, despite their opposing views and comments on trans rights. Rowling replied on X, saying that Watson is "ignorant of how ignorant she is" and scoffed at her offer for a dialogue."Adults can't expect to cosy up to an activist movement that regularly calls for a friend's assassination, then assert their right to the former friend's love, as though the friend was in fact their mother," Rowling wrote. "Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it."On SNL, Dobby was there to give his point of view. Unfortunately, once he accidentally revealed that Rowling is his master, he felt he had to punish himself. As he self-flagellated by banging his head against the Weekend Update desk, Dobby then suffered a wardrobe malfunction, with one of his shoulder straps becoming undone, revealing Yang's chest."Oh, Dobby's come undone," Yang quipped. "Sorry! My fatigues are not well-made!"Dobby wasn't done showing off his body. A short while later, the house elf launched himself over the desk so he could punish himself by banging his head into the camera filming Weekend Update. As he flipped over the table, he flashed the cameras and struggled to keep his clothes from entirely falling off. When asked why he kept hurting himself, Yang replied, "Why? Dobby doesn't know. Perhaps because house elves are somehow always the problem, even though we're only 1 percent of the population. But house elves aren't the victims; Master Rowling is. She gets so much hate mail."Dobby held up one example of hate mail, a shirt with Rowling's face edited to have a short, blue haircut with shaved sides that said "They K. Rowling."Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost then reminded Dobby that, per the rules of the Harry Potter universe, because his master gave him a piece of clothing, he is free.Yang, who returned for his sixth season at SNL this year, has had several Weekend Update characters go viral during his tenure. Other popular characters of his include Moo Deng, the Iceberg that sank the Titanic, and a gay Oompa Loompa.Watch his Dobby impersonation ahead.

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Porsha Williams casually drops that she's dating a woman
Porsha Williams dropped a new relationship announcement this weekend, letting fans know she's back on the dating scene after her divorce and she's seeing both a man and a woman. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star didn't do into too much detail during CultureCon in New York City, but admitted she's narrowed the field down to two people."And he is nice and she is nice," she said matter-of-factly, prompting obvious shock from the crowd. When Williams previously spoke with People about her divorce, she "joked" about wondering if she could get with a woman but now it's sounding as if that wasn't so much of a joke after all."When you go through a bad enough breakup, you're like, 'I don't like nobody.' I was sitting there, I was like, 'Do I like women enough? Can I get with a woman? Who can come in and fill this void?'" she said in June. "But I don't [have that] yet. I'll come."Now that it's been more than a year and a half since she announced her split from ex-husband Simon Guobadia, it's clear Williams has done some real reflecting on what she's looking for in a potential partner beyond just "nice.""But I really wanted to make sure these were normal people," she told CultureCon attendees. "And what I talked about with my therapist the other day was, I'm having a hard time opening up because they're not narcissists. And guess what narcissists do? They love bomb you. They do everything to look perfect." (@) Williams went on to praise the people she's currently dating for "challenging" her and not just "doing whatever they need to do to get into the relationship," while insinuating that's something she's not accustomed to."I'm realizing that if you want something different," she said, "you have to also be different."

Anti-trans queer journalist Bari Weiss named editor-in-chief of CBS News
In a move shaking the foundations of American broadcast journalism, Paramount Skydance announced Monday that it has acquired The Free Press, the digital media company founded by out journalist Bari Weiss, and appointed her as the new editor-in-chief of CBS News.Keep up with the latest in LGBTQ+ news and politics. Sign up for The Advocate's email newsletter. The deal, valued at roughly $150 million in cash and stock, brings Weisss growing subscriber-driven platform under the same corporate roof as CBS, Showtime, and Paramount, according to CBS News. It also places Weiss, who rose to prominence as a conservative-leaning critic of liberal media culture, at the helm of one of the nations oldest and most trusted news brands.Related: Who is Bari Weiss, the right-wing anti-trans queer woman being given the keys to CBS News?As The Advocate noted in an earlier report, Weiss, who is queer, becomes one of the few out LGBTQ+ leaders to oversee a major national U.S. broadcast newsroom.Weiss, 41, first captured national attention after her 2020 resignation from The New York Times, where she accused the paper of enforcing what she described as ideological conformity. She later launched The Free Press in 2021 alongside her wife, Nellie Bowles, and her sister, Suzy Weiss, which became a haven for self-styled heterodox thinkers and a lucrative digital media brand championing free speech and contrarian opinion.Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison said Weiss will report directly to him, part of what the company calls a new era of innovation and journalistic independence at CBS News.Bari is a proven champion of independent, principled journalism, and I am confident her entrepreneurial drive and editorial vision will invigorate CBS News, Ellison said in a statement, according to NBC News. This move is part of Paramounts bigger vision to modernize content and the way it connects directly and passionately to audiences around the world.Weisss appointment, however, has already prompted unease among some CBS staffers, who worry that her reputation for culture-war provocations could shift the networks editorial tone. Her new role arrives at a time when questions of objectivity, identity, and ideology are defining the media landscape as much as the news itself.Weiss is expected to assume her duties immediately, while The Free Press will continue operating independently under Paramounts ownership.

Is Alexander Skarsgrd gay? A queer timeline ahead of Pillion
The first teaser of Pillion sent the gays into overdrive upon seeing Hollywood heartthrob Alexander Skarsgrd developing a dom-sub BDSM relationship with costar Harry Melling.I have an aptitude for devotion, Melling (Colin) says in the teaser when asked about his relationship with Ray (Skarsgrd). And buy yourself a butt plug, Ray tells Colin in an instantly viral scene from the teaser. Youre too tight.Yet, beyond the eroticism in Skarsgrds new queer film written and directed by Harry Lighton the gays flooded social media timelines with even more thoughts and thirst over the Swedish actor supposedly coming out of the closet in a new interview.Skarsgrds statement is seemingly being misinterpreted, but the actor does have a very long history with the LGBTQ+ community thats worth exploring. So lets break it all down in a timeline.Growing up, Alexander Skarsgrds biggest inspiration was his gay uncle. Alexander Skarsgrd in Pillion.A24Skarsgrd was interviewed by Pride Source in 2016 as he promoted the live-action film The Legend of Tarzan for Warner Bros. Pictures. In the interview, he discussed having a gay uncle (who also happened to be his godfather).I dont know if you know this, but gay men love you, the Pride Source reporter said.Skarsgrd replied, Oh, really? They do, the reporter teased. Is that surprising to hear?Skarsgrd said, I dont know how to answer that question, but thank you. That's very flattering to hear. It's always been the most natural thing to me because my uncle and godfather is a gay man. So, growing up even as a little toddler it was just as natural as being straight. My aunt would show up with her husband, and my uncle would show up with his husband, the actor added. He was, by far, out of my fathers four siblings, the most fashionable and the most trendy, cool guy. So, when I was a kid, he was the one I looked up to. I thought he was really badass: Fit and awesome and cool, and obviously not just because he was gay. When I became a teenager and the kids made fun of other teenagers who were gay, I never really understood that.Skarsgrd concluded, It just baffled me because my idol, my godfather, was gay And he was the coolest guy I knew. I just couldnt understand how that could be an insult. His breakout role as pansexual vampire Eric Northman on True Blood (2008-2014). Ryan Kwanten, Alexander Skarsgrd on True Blood.HBOSkarsgrd became a global star and a Hollywood sex symbol while playing pansexual vampire Eric Northman in all seven seasons of HBOs True Blood. At the time, some critics argued that the series was too gay, but Skarsgrd found that criticism to be ridiculous. What was so interesting about the show was that it wasnt on the nose, Skarsgrd told Pride Source. Its obviously a cultural reference and a metaphor A lot of the storylines are metaphors for the strife people in the LGBT community experience, but it's done in a very subtle way, where people who have never met anyone who's gay or who have prejudice toward that community would still embrace the show and would still come up (to me) and be super excited about it.They also would love Lafayette I mean, a Black gay man. What [creator] Alan [Ball] did was beautiful and it was groundbreakingIn this instance, a lot of people who didnt have anyone close to them in the LGBT community suddenly had someone in their living room every Sunday night that they loved.Skarsgrds advice for straight actors doing gay sex scenes. Alexander Skarsgrd at the premiere screening of Infinity Pool at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023 in Park City, Utah.Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesSkarsgrd was also not concerned, when asked in 2016, about doing gay sex scenes on True Blood. In fact, he even shared some advice with straight actors who might feel tense and/or uncertain. You just have to embrace it. I had two gay sex scenes on the show; theyre incredible scenes, the actor recalled. I remember talking to Theo [Alexander], who played the Greek lover of Russell Edgington [played by Denis OHare], and that was the first gay sex scene I had on True Blood. Hes also a straight guy and he was nervous; he had never kissed a guy before. I just said, Look at the scene. Its this nemesis. When he comes in, it gets seductive.Skarsgrd elaborated, If we commit to this, its going to be an amazing scene, and we're going to be very happy with it forever. If we hold back, thats when it gets awkward. He starred as Lady Gagas poisoned lover in the Paparazzi music video (2009). Alexander Skarsgrd and Lady Gaga in the Paparazzi music video.Interscope RecordsSkarsgrd also discussed the idea that his gay following mightve grown even more after he starred in Lady Gagas 2009s music video of Paparazzi.I wasnt famous at all. I wore a wig in the first season of True Blood, so no one ever recognized me, Skarsgrd told Pride Source. But my friend Jonas kerlund is a tremendous music video director and called me and said, Hey, Im directing this video for an artist. Her name is Lady Gaga. Id heard her name, but didn't know much about her.kerlunds pitch, according to Skarsgrd? You throw her off the balcony and then she comes back and she poisons you. The actor added, It sounded like a fun love story, so of course I said yes. I had a super fun day.For context, Paparazzi was the first installment of Gagas planned trilogy of music videos that have Telephone (featuring Beyonc) as part two. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a third video to conclude the trilogy which would probably involve kerlund as director, and perhaps even flashbacks with Skarsgrd? One can dream!TKSkarsgrd attended a movie premiere in full glamazon drag (2015). Actors Bel Powley and Alexander Skarsgrd, alongside director Marielle Heller, at the premiere screening of The Diary Of a Teenage Girl in August 2015.Miikka Skaffari/Getty Images Picture it: Castro Theatre, San Francisco, 2015.Skarsgrd and his full height of 64 walked the red carpet for his latest movie, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, in full glamazon drag And even looked gorge, one could say.Skarsgrd was spotted at a gay nightclub, Club Backdoor, and posed for pictures with several fans (2023). (@) Skarsgrd randomly appeared at a gay club in Sweden, Club Backdoor, and was spotted in several pictures and videos that showing how much fun he was having that night. One standout picture showed the actor posing alongside out-of-drag Vanity Vain, who had competed on Drag Race Sverige season 1 and, more recently, returned to Mama Rus queendom for RuPauls Drag Race Global All Stars. In the picture, the actor was even seen wearing Vanity Vain merch! See on Instagram Hollywood kissed me and wore my merch, the Drag Race alum wrote in the caption. In a report from that wild night, Gayety described Club Backdoor as Scandinavias biggest gay club.Alexander Skarsgrd and Pedro Pascal kissing at the 78th Cannes Film Festival (2025). (@) Pillion premiered at the 78th Cannes Film Festival and received a 7-minute standing ovation from the audience. During the standing ovation, feeling the love that he and the film were receiving from viewers, Skarsgrd returned it two-fold with a warm embrace and by planting a wet one on the cheek of a smiling Pedro Pascal who was on his feet, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter. The concept of two Hollywood heartthrobs just kissing each other at a film festival to celebrate that a new project has been well-received We kind of love it, honestly. The friendship between Alexander Skarsgrd and Jack McBrayer, a.k.a. Kenneth The Page of 30 Rock. (@) Another intense discourse regarding Skarsgrds sexuality involves fellow actor Jack McBrayer, best known for playing Kenneth The Page Parcell on 30 Rock (the hit NBC series created by Tina Fey after she left Saturday Night Live).Lets circle back to what we do know for a fact. Skarsgrd and McBrayer have been friends since 2012 as they attended the same Hollywood events and found out that they happened to be neighbors (per Cracked). The publication outlined that the two actors have been to NASCAR races together, coffee shop dates, and Skarsgrd even took McBrayer as his date to the 2018 SAG Awards during his Big Little Lies stint. Otherwise, the duo starred together in a Funny or Die video.Theyre two Hollywood stars who have known each other for 13 years and bonded during a period when they were neighbors. The comedy bit of McBrayer being taken to award shows by Skarsgrd is hilarious, too, but thats really all there is to it. Fans think that Skarsgrd has come out while promoting Pillion. He didnt. Heres what happened. Alexander Skarsgrd and Harry Melling in Pillion.A24 Thousands of fans have taken to social media to gleefully comment on and/or react to Skarsgrd seemingly coming out in an interview with Variety. While its totally possible for a person to come out at any stage in life, its important to note that this particular new statement from Skarsgrd was not a coming-out story. When asked if his real-life experiences played a factor in this performance as a biker gang leader who develops a dominant/submissive relationship with a younger man (played by Melling) in Pillion, Skarsgrd noted that its not really relevant what my background is.The actor added, What Ive done in the past, who Ive been with, men, women To me, what was important was that this felt like an opportunity to tell a story about a subculture I hadnt seen portrayed this way with so much authenticity. (@) Mikelle Street perfectly articulated the misunderstanding that is happening here. What he said is that its not relevant whether hes been with men or women, he wrote on X/Twitter. He didnt say Ive been with men and women. A comma, used in a list can be used as and or it can be used as or. In this sentence, context says or!The first comma in Skarsgrds answer is also worth paying attention to. The actor essentially said that playing this character had nothing to do with who he has been with. So, it doesnt matter if he had been with men, or with women, in the past. He still approached the performance in the same way.Who is Alexander Skarsgrds wife? Alexander Skarsgrd and Tuva Novotny alongside Christos Nikou at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival at Palazzo del Cinema in Venice, Italy.Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images for LexusSkarsgrd isnt legally married and thus doesnt have a wife but has been in a relationship with Swedish actress Tuva Novotny since 2022, as reported by numerous publications like Elle.In 2023, Skarsgrd confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he and Novotny had just welcomed their first child. Despite being in the film industry for more than two decades, Novotny has famously kept a private life.Pillion is coming to theaters in 2026

Its not often that a single movie scene manages to unite the internet in collective thirst, awe, and confusion, but Dylan OBrien asking for a nipple pinch in Twinless has accomplished precisely that.In the now-viral clip, OBrien stands shirtless and emotionally raw across from fellow actor James Sweeney (who also wrote and directed the film) before whispering his instantly immortalized line: Pinch my nipple. The momentequal parts tender, strange, and sexyhas fans feral, tweeting things like, This clip of Dylan OBrien asking for his nipple to be pinched has just gone triple platinum in my bedroom. (@) From there, the floodgates opened (@) That clip got more replays than my breakup playlist, one person joked, while another summed up the vibe perfectly: Mood: iconic, unexplainable energy. (@) Even fans who hadnt seen the movie yet felt the pull of the nipple (and the plot). OK I havent watched Twinless yet and Im feeling more and more FOMO every single day IM MISSING OUT ARENT I, one user tweeted. (@) And yes, they are.The scene may have launched a thousand rewatches, but Twinless itself has been winning praise since its festival debut earlier this year. For those unfamiliar, the film follows Dennis (Sweeney), a man navigating grief, identity, and intimacy after the loss of his twin. He encounters Roman (OBrien) at a meeting for people grieving the loss of their twin, and sparks fly. Its an indie dramedy about connection and self-discovery, but with the kind of chemistry that makes audiences feel both deeply moved and mildly unwell. That chemistry, it turns out, is part of the movies viral appeal. As one tweet put it, James Sweeney wrote, directed, and cast himself hooking up with Dylan OBrien. This is the kind of greed they talked about in the Bible. (@) Another added, Imagine getting paid to do this to Dylan OBrien. (@) Even beyond the nipple moment, the internet is newly obsessed with OBriens performancean evolution from his Teen Wolf heartthrob days into something rawer, queerer, and undeniably bold. So, yes, Twinless is beautiful, heartfelt, and existential, but right now, the nipple scene is the one that is carrying it to cultural immortality. As one viral tweet said best, The plot of #Twinless was SO GOOD. The plot: slutty Dylan OBrien. (@) And honestly? Thats cinema.

7 anti-LGBTQ+ Republicans caught dressing in drag
We all know that conservatives are hypocrites. Staunchly family values Republicans have gotten caught up in gay sex scandals more times than we can count, anti-trans MAGA supporters rail against gender-affirming care while affirming their own gender with plastic surgery, and anti-LGBTQ+ politicians keep getting spotted in drag.Vice President JD Vances old drag look is currently going viral again after California Governor Gavin Newsom resurfaced the image after MAGA stans were outraged that Bad Bunny who has done drag in the past is going to be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. But Vance is far from the only vehemently anti-LGBTQ+ Republican who has been caught with a dress on and a full beat.Vice President JD Vance (@) JD Vance ran on an anti-LGBTQ+ agenda, has called queer people groomers, and introduced a bill that would have banned transition-related medical care for minors. He also once dressed in drag. Podcaster and content creator Matt Bernstein outed Vance as having once dressed in drag at a party while at Yale Law. In the photos Bernstein released, Vance is wearing a skirt and a terrible Party City-style blond wig.Former U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (@) While representing North Carolina on Capitol Hill, Republican Madison Cawthorn accused his GOP colleagues of sexual perversion and inviting him to orgies. But after revealing the shocking claims on a podcast, two photos of Cawthorn came to light showing the right-wing political partying while wearing womens lingerie, including a lacy black bra and lace hoop earrings. Amid the avalanche of politically damaging headlines, the anti-LGBTQ+ congressman lost his reelection bid.Rudy Giuliani (@) In 2019, an old video resurfaced that featured Rudy Giuliani then Trumps personal lawyer in drag, wearing a curly wig, a full face of makeup, a purple dress, and matching gloves. Trump is also in the old sketch video from 2000, pretending to flirt with Giuliani before motorboating him. At this same time, Giuliani was the mayor of New York City and spent the last decade cracking down on nightclubs, which disproportionately impacted gay bars. Former U.S. Rep. George Santos (@) Former congressman and current inmate George Santos was outed as being a drag performer by Brazilian drag queen Eula Rochard, who shared photos online in 2023 of Santos in a wig, red lipstick, and red feather boa as part of his drag persona Kitara Rivache. At first, the disgraced former representative claimed he wasnt a drag queen, then said he was just young and had fun, but then he openly revived the act for Cameo in 2024 when he needed money. While Santos is openly gay, he is also a Republican who supported Floridas Dont Say Gay law and opposed same-sex marriage while simultaneously being married to a man. Governor Bill Lee (@) Tennessee Governor Bill Lee helped to pass a bill that criminalized drag performers in public and in front of children, and then went viral when an old high school yearbook photo from the 70s resurfaced showing the Republican politician in full drag. A reddit user uncovered the photo that shows Lee wearing a cheerleader uniform with a very short skirt, a pearl necklace and wig, posing with two young women dressed as men and a make student also in drag wearing a dress.Texas State Rep. Nate Schatzline (@) Texas lawmaker Nate Schatzline authored a bill requiring bars or restaurants that host drag performances to register as a sexually oriented business, even though he once dressed in drag himself, the Texas Observer reported. Online sleuths were quick to dig up an old video of the Republican dressed in drag for a high school theater project. The video that showed Schatzline wearing a black sequined dress skipping through a park quickly went viral when it surfaced in 2023.Former Florida Secretary of State Michael ErtelMichael Ertel, who was appointed by Dont Say Gay bill author Ron DeSantis, was forced to resign after photos surfaced featuring the Republican politician not only in drag but wearing blackface. The photos from an early 2000s Halloween party show Ertel dressed as a female Hurricane Katrina victim. The photos were taken just two months after 1,800 were killed by the devastating storm.

Is Jennifer Lopez heading to Broadway? Heres what we know
A starring role for Jennifer Lopez on Broadway may come sooner than we think. In an interview alongside her co-star, Tonatiuh, to discussing their new movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Spectrum News' NY1 asked J-Lo about the possibility of her taking on a starring role on Broadway. Surprisingly, she isn't completely opposed to it."There's been a lot of talk about that since I did this movie," Lopez said, while referencing that one of the film's producers Tom Kirdahy, a Tony Award-winning Broadway producer and spouse of the late Terrence McNally, who wrote the book for the 1993 stage production that the movie is based on. In fact, the actress and pop star has received two calls from Sergio Trujillo, the choreographer of the Kiss of the Spider Woman film, who has seemingly brought up two ideas so far. See on Instagram "Listen, I believe that everything will happen when it's supposed to, I am completely open to it, I think it would be a dream for me to do," Lopez said in the interview. "It would just have to be the right thing at the right time." When the interviewer pointed out that "we are due for a revival of Spider Woman," the multihyphenate agreed. The two main stars of the film were the cover stars for Out's latest issue. In their interview, Lopez and Tonatiuh discussed their experiences working on this film together. Tonatiuh, who uses he/they pronouns, said that Lopez gave him some words of encouragement that filled him with gratitude during one of the filming dates on set. "I remember sitting there with him I was in my blonde wig and smoking my cigarette, and he was sitting there kind of playing with his cigarette. And I said, This is your Selena moment Its a blessing in your career. And its just beautiful to watch you doing it,'" Lopez said. The actor recalled being so "overcome with gratitude" that after the film's director, Bill Condon (who also directed Chicago and Dreamgirls), called cut, Tonatiuh was instantly moved to tears.

Is Alexander Skarsgrd gay? A queer timeline ahead of Pillion
The first teaser of Pillion sent the gays into overdrive upon seeing Hollywood heartthrob Alexander Skarsgrd developing a dominant/submissive BDSM relationship with costar Harry Melling.I have an aptitude for devotion, Melling (Colin) says in the teaser when asked about his relationship with Ray (Skarsgrd). Ryan Kwanten and Alexander Skarsgrd on True Blood.HBOSkarsgrd became a global star and a Hollywood sex symbol while playing pansexual vampire Eric Northman in all seven seasons of HBOs True Blood. Alexander Skarsgrd starring in Lady Gagas Paparazzi music video.Interscope RecordsSkarsgrd also discussed the idea that his gay following mightve grown even more after he starred in Lady Gagas 2009s music video of Paparazzi.I wasnt famous at all.

Meet Nhut Le, the out actor behind 'Peacemaker's chaotic gay icon Judomaster
What does it take to make a gay icon? Sometimes all it takes is five feet of height, a lot of violence, and a never-ending supply of Flamin' Hot Cheetos.James Gunn's hyper violent, hilarious, and heart-wrenching HBO Max series Peacemaker is wrapping up its second season, and one character Judomaster has become a new gay icon. You can thank the actor who plays him, Nhut Le (pronounced like the first syllable in Nathaniel and Lee).Le was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and then moved to the U.S. as a child. While he's had some roles in Hollywood before, most movie and TV fans are just getting to know him now through Judomaster.Growing up in Vietnam, he was very familiar with Superman and loved superheroes through anime and manga. Nhut LeStef Ceretti (provided)"Sailor Moon was a huge influence of mine, and so I drew my own version of that. And of course, Dragon Ball and Pokmon and all that kind of stuff, I've always been involved in that realm," he says. "So it's surreal to be able to portray one of the characters that's in the comic books."If you've seen Peacemaker, you know that the characters are over-the-top, willing to kill at the drop of a dime, and in many ways, are kind of insane. Judomaster fits right in.He's a five-foot-tall ball of fury known for kicking ass while delivering great quips like "Ding Dong, bitches" and "Are you the dumbest c*nt who's ever existed, or just top five?"The charisma that Le brings to the role has made him an instant fan favorite and an icon in queer and Vietnamese communities.Le says he feels like he "won the lottery" when he got the Judomaster role. Many comic book characters have decades of lore and stories, and fan bases that want to see the characters adapted exactly as they picture them in their minds. With Judomaster, Le was able to bring a lot more of himself to the role. Nhut LeStef Ceretti (provided)"At first, I was sort of nervous because a lot of the research that I did on Judomaster was from the comic books and from the script in season 1. There's not a lot of background story or not a lot to pull from," Le says. "So it was just using the script as my bible for what this character is and then trying to infuse things that I think this character would do.""And to be honest, after season 1, after we finished filming season 1, I was super nervous about the reception of my portrayal because he's such a weird character, and I'm like, I don't know if I portrayed him correctly or well enough. And if I did, are people going to even understand what this person is doing?"Fans didn't just get the character; they fell in love with him. Le said that after seeing the positive reaction to the first season, he was excited to dive deeper into the character."Having the fans really take to Judomaster, it felt like a security blanket coming back in season 2, as like, I've done this once before, we get a little bit more time with Judomaster too, so let's try to define his limitations and expand and see what we can get away with and what resonates with fans," he says.In the second season, fans have learned more about Judomaster, including that he's Vietnamese and that he's gay. (from left) Danielle Brooks and Nhut Le in PeacemakerCourtesy HBO MaxIn the second-to-last episode of the season, most of the Peacemaker team has traveled to a parallel world, only to find out that it's a world where Nazis won World War II. In a moment straight out of a horror movie, former A.R.G.U.S. agent Leota Adebayo is being chased by an angry crowd of white people shouting, "One got out!"Thankfully, Judomaster is there to save the day, electrifying an entire swimming pool of racists while shouting, "Zippity Zap, bitches!"After they get to safety, Judomaster explains to Adebayo that in this world, Nazis won World War II, and adds, "You don't want to be a minority here. Or gay, or Buddhist, or anything I am, really."While this is the first time Judomaster has talked about his sexuality in the show, queer fans have been seeing themselves in the character since the beginning. Le knows why. Nhut LeStef Ceretti (provided)"I think because I am gay in real life and I obviously have my mannerisms go through and filter through Judomaster, that he is a certain way, and I think that's fine," Le says. "And I always like characters in media where their sexual orientation doesn't define who their character is. It just is another layer, another page in their book. It is not, "This is everything the story is about," it flavors the character."Judomaster is far from the only queer character in the show. Adebayo is a lesbian, and the titular character is bisexual. For Le, it's important that this version of the DC universe is a place where gay people are normalized."It's just 365; these people are always there every single day," he says. "[Their sexuality is] not a huge deal. It can be special, but it doesn't need to be special. It's just a part of life, and I love that."Peacemaker season 2 airs its finale this Thursday on HBO Max.

'Beau the Musical' brings 'queer joy' and country pop back to off-Broadway
'Beau the Musical' is coming back to off-Broadway.Beau the Musical had a long road to the stage after its short-lived world premiere run at 154 Christopher Street (formerly known as the New Ohio Theatre) in early August. The producers announced that the show will be returning for an encore off-Broadway run, transferring uptown to St. Lukes Theatre. The show is centered around a man named Ace Baker (played by Matt Rodin), a young queer man who forms a connection with his grandfather (Jeb Brown), whom he believed was deceased. "Family secrets unravel as Ace rushes to make up for lost time with a man who changes his world by putting a guitar in his hand. With a rollicking original pop-country score, Beau celebrates the music we leave for the ones we love," the show's official log line reads.Beau The Musical will begin performances on October 13, with an opening night set for October 27. Before the show makes its comeback, Out chatted with the two lead actors to discuss the impact they hope this story about queerness, family, and acceptance will have.Out: What drew you to the project? What are you most excited for audiences to see?Jeb Brown: I've been involved with Beau since 2017. Doug Lyons and I met in the original company of Beautiful (the Carole King musical) and I was aware that he was often writing backstage. When he asked me to read an early draft of Beau I was eager to jump in but I didn't expect to be blown away by this totally original story. At the time there were only three or four songs written but the music was already deeply winning...a sharp blend of funk/roots/blues. But I think it was Doug's characters that really melted me. He writes with a warm, idiosyncratic pen and the results are delicious and true. I'm eager for audiences to see these characters and situations up close in an intimate setting, where the action happens all around our space. It's a roadhouse, a honky tonk, a Nashville music club...it's a good time.Matt Rodin: When I read the very first version of the script, it felt alive in a way I hadnt seen in a musical before. The grooves of the music felt raw, and the people inside the story felt real. Now, years later, its even more lived-in. Off-Broadway gives us the freedom to leave the dirt under the fingernailsand that grit feels closer to the truth of being human, and being queer. People have said it reminds them of the first time they experienced Hedwig, Rent, and Hadestown. To be mentioned in that lineage of rock musicals told in unconventional ways is, in the words of Hilary Duff, what dreams are made of.Given that this show is about a queer man, how does his identity play into the storyline, and why is it essential to tell queer stories in this moment?Brown: Beau is a memory play with music. It's a queer coming-of-age story set in the heart of America. And given that the atmosphere in our culture at this moment features many loud voices challenging and aiming to marginalize queer culture, it seems most important that a story like this [be] told. This is a moment when art about queer lives can have a particularly meaningful impact, offering a reminder that these stories are the stories of our time and a reassurance that audiences and artists alike are still powerfully drawn to and moved by them.Rodin: Beau doesnt treat queerness as an obstacle to overcome or a punchline to land. Its the lens that shapes how Ace experiences lovefor music, for his family, and ultimately for himself. And right now, when there are people and systems working overtime to erase queer lives, stories like this feel less like entertainment and more like necessity. Which is why Im thrilled to be in the middle of this glorious lineup of gay shows in New York and across the country: Oh, Mary!, Mamma Mia, Some Like It Hot, Ginger Twinsies, Saturday Church, Prince F, Heathers, Death Becomes Her, Six. Not all of them talk about queerness directly, but in their own way they all say the same thing: were here, were queer, and look how much fun were having. Its queer joy. We need more of thatWhat do you think has been the most impactful about making this show?Brown: Making this show has been its own unique trip. Over a number of years we did many workshops for audiences at Lincoln Center and Joe's Pub and the like, and then just prior to the pandemic we took it up to the Adirondack Theatre Festival for its first full production. 2020 slowed us for a moment, but we had already made a gorgeous record of the songs with Sony Masterworks, featuring some of our folks and also some guest vocalists. One thing led to another and in 2021 we then made a full-length feature film which played festivals to great acclaim and awaits a wider release. This past summer, [the show played] downtown and [was] extremely well received. So what we're presenting now combines elements of all those iterations, with all kinds of interesting wrinkles that our team has gathered and compiled along the way, now mixing together to make this a very seasoned and singular production.Rodin: I think the impact shows up in two places. For audiences, its the conversations after the show. People tell me about their own families, their own experience of queerness, the way the music cracked something open. And theyre often surprised by how much they love the concert framingit feels less like a musical and more like seeing an indie artist in a small venue before they blow up. For me, Beau has been a kind of permission slip. Every collaborator at every step of the process has encouraged me to embrace my own sound, not to fit into a box. That freedom has been rare and radical. And finding that sound has been its own adventure. Which, if Im being honest, lands somewhere between Boz Scaggs, Jason Mraz, and a church ladyMatt, what's kept you with the show for the past seven years, and through that time, what do you feel has changed about the show for the best?Rodin: Seven years is a long time to stay with anythingrelationships, leases, skincare routines. But whats kept me with Beau is that Ace and I have grown up together. I know him as part of myself. Living in him, loving him, sharing him with more and more people has been an incredible privilege. The biggest change for me has been the shift in focus. In the early days, we were vying for attention, trying to prove something. Now its about inviting people in, giving them an experience, and trusting that sharing this story and this music is enough. Its subtle, but its profound. These days, it feels less like were lip-syncing for our life, and more like Sunday drag brunchjust a good time, with friends, doing what we loveJeb, you went to Broadway forDead Outlawfor the first time since 2014 after severaloff-Broadway projects, and now you're returning tooff-Broadway. What do you think is the biggest lesson you've learned during the run ofDead Outlawthat you'll take with you to this new production?Brown: Dead Outlaw was a very special show for everyone involved and it was great to land it on Broadway, but we created it originally for the Minetta Lane production downtown. It was wonderful to be at the Longacre [Theatre] but I find, at the end of the day, that the charge one experiences when an original piece of theatre succeeds is powerful no matter where it happens. As long as there are engaged audiences on hand willing to come along for the ride, good theatre pulses with life wherever it is presented. I've enjoyed countless unforgettable moments sitting in Broadway theaters, but I've experienced just as many in the off-Broadway houses around this city...and oftentimes off-Broadway means more affordable tickets, more daring work, and more intimate settings.Previews of Beau the Musical begin October 13 at St. Luke's Theatre in NYC. Taylor Swift isnt doing the Super Bowl anytime soonheres why
After taking the record-breaking Eras Tour across the globe, it would only make sense for Taylor Swift to headline this upcoming Super Bowl at least you think. But while promoting her new album The Life of a Showgirl on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she addressed the long-standing rumors that she was approached about taking on the world's biggest stage.Fallon tepidly asked Swift if she turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl, and she denied that and went on to explain how the discussions between her team and Jay-Z whose record label Roc Nation signed a deal with the NFL in 2019 to be the exclusive partner curating and producing the halftime show. (@) "Here's the thing. Jay-Z has always been really good to me. Our teams are really close," she said and went on to clarify that she never received a formal offer or had any conversations about the show before the opportunity was presented to Bad Bunny, who will be taking the stage next year."We're always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that field," she explained, saying that she is so "locked in" during the entire season, worrying about and cheering on her fianc Travis Kelce. "Like that is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if he's out there every single week, putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I'm like, 'I wonder what my choreo should be?'"The rumors of her taking the stage have swirled around for months now and it would make sense given the theme of her latest project, but the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also stoked the flames of that rumor when he made an appearance on The TODAY Show back in September and the host asked if she was invited to perform. "We would always love to have Taylor play," Goodell said. "She is a special, special talent. And obviously she would be welcome at any time." (@) Goodell was asked if there were conversations being had, to which he responded, "I can't tell you anything about that. It's a 'maybe.'" But now, those rumors have been debunked.

Taylor Swift reveals that Travis Kelce has hot gay friends
The girls, gays, and theys want to know who Travis Kelces gay friends are.Taylor Swift is busy promoting her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, and went on British radio program HITS Radio, where she opened up about her fianc, NFL player Travis Kelce.Swift was asked about a lyric in the song "Wi$h Li$t," where she sings, "I made wishes on all of the stars / Please, God, bring me a best friend / Who I think is hot."After saying she's achieved that with Kelce, one of the radio hosts, James Barr, jumps in with an important note."I have a question, actually: does he have any hot gay friends?" he asks."Yeah," Swift replies. "I also have a lot of those as well.""But yeah, you would absolutely love him. He's a blast, he's just the most fun person. Life of every party, even when it's just us. So yeah, that is the goal, isn't it? Find a best friend who you think is hot." (@) Fans are now wondering if this means that some of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs teammates or fellow NFL stars are the "hot gay friends" Swift is referring to.While there aren't any out players on the Chiefs, back in 2017, Kelce told Outsports that he'd be happy to support a gay teammate."Anybody in this world [can play]," he said. "I'm comfortable with who I am, and I expect everyone to be comfortable with who they are. I respect people for their views and opinions."Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023 and got engaged in August 2025. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Lukas Gage talks sexual abuse, abandonment, and more in new interview
Lukas Gage is no stranger to opening up about his past. Lately, the actor has been noticeably more outspoken like commenting on his short-lived marriage to celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, which was officiated by Kim Kardashian.Gage discussed in a new interview with The Guardian how he was able to open up to write his upcoming memoir, I Wrote This for Attention, which tackles his upbringing, addictive personality, and mental health struggles. The actor, who has appeared in shows like Euphoria, The White Lotus, and most recently Overcompensating, wrote about how he was always seeking attention as a child. For instance, Gage described a moment when he was young and dressed in Playboy bunny ears and high heels to get a laugh out of his family, and distinctly remembers his father expressing pure disgust. From then on, their relationship soured, and his dad ended up leaving his mother and two older brothers to settle down elsewhere with a new family. This desire for attention was later nurtured in a theater camp that Gage attended as a kid. Alas, he wasn't sufficiently protected and was sexually abused as a child. "One night, he was joined in his tent by a camp counsellor who instructed Gage and a girl camper to kiss, remove their clothes, and rub their bodies against each other while he masturbated," the publication writes.Gage told The Guardian that for years he tried to process the guilt and shame he felt towards this experience, saying, "As with a lot of people who experience being molested, I felt like there was a willingness on my part because my body just checked out." He continued, "I knew it was wrong. I knew that the situation should not be happening. But I just plowed through it.Gage worked through his identity as a teen, forming a close relationship with a girl named Kaylee. At 19, however, he had sex with a man for the first time, which confirmed to himself that he identified as queer. "There was a part of me that always felt like something was different," he said, "but I couldnt articulate what it was. I wish Id had that clarity earlier on because I think it would have made things a lot less confusing as a kid. I look back, like, wait, dancing as a Playboy bunny as a little kid? Writing a diary while I played Britney Spears? How the hell did nobody have this conversation with me as a kid?!Gage also addressed the end of his memoir, an exploration of the 30-year-old actor's current mental health treatment, revealing that he was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). "One of the tricky things [with BPD] is that, at first, they throw a bunch of medication at you. The actor noted how, in the beginning, medications only worsened the issues he was facing and "made [him] manic.Thankfully, Gage revealed that he's now on the right track to find the proper dosage for his medications, and is in a much better headspace. The actor specifically mentioned that you should a) Probably get to know someone for four seasons before you settle down with them; and b) Also have the clarity to listen to my loved ones when theyre saying, Hey, you need to take a beat. I do think I can do that now, and I have done since.

22 'Real Housewives' stars who have dated, married, or hooked up with women
If you think that The Real Housewives franchise is for the straights, think again. Sure, its predicated on following the lives of housewives as they manage their families, friendships, and careers, which sounds pretty straight. But its anything but. Not only is it dramatic and camp and occasionally more akin to a true crime series but its textually queer, too. There are openly sapphic housewives, and friends of, and over the course of its many, many seasons, it has featured lesbian reveals, same-sex couples, and even some not-so-secret castmate hookups.Dont believe me? Here are 22 cast members who have either dated, married, or hooked up with women.Real Housewives of Orange CountyBraunwyn WindhamBraunwyn Windham may not have been on RHOC for long, but she still made a big impression. She joined the cast for Seasons 14 and 15, and at the time she was still married to Sean Burke, with whom she shares seven children. In 2020, Windham came out as a lesbian in an interview with GLAAD."Im still getting used to it...I knew I was attracted to women. I always have been...I got married very young and I never thought about it. So to be 42...Im just now starting to feel like Im becoming the woman I was supposed to be," Braunwyn told GLAAD. "So for me to be living completely authentically and say, 'Im a lesbian. That was who I have always been.' This isnt something that is new 'cause I think that's what a lot of people will think. 'Oh, suddenly youre one.' No, Ive always known it. But it took me personally 42 years to be comfortable enough in my own skin to say that."Windham married her long-time girlfriend, Jennifer Spinner, in 2024.Noella BergenerNoella Bergener made history when she joined the cast of RHOC in Season 16 as the first Black and openly bisexual housewife in the franchise. While the majority of her storyline that season (she didnt return for Season 17) centered around her chaotic, shocking divorce from her then-husband, James Bergener (aka Sweet James), sapphic fans will never be able to erase the phrase stack of vaginas from their memories, after she showed the ladies a very special photo she took for her birthday.Elizabeth VargasElizabeth Vargas is another housewife whose tenure on the show was short-lived but very memorable. During the season, she opened up to her castmates about the trauma she experienced growing up in a religious cult. It wasnt until the reunion that Vargas shared that she is bisexual. "I'm bi, but whatever," Vargas said during a tense moment with Windham, adding that she "100 percent identifies as bi, but I don't practice it.Real Housewives of New York Luann de LessepsLuann de Lesseps, aka The Countess, is unquestionably one of the most iconic cast members in all the franchises, in part because of her evolution from uptight aristocrat to sexually liberated cabaret star over the course of her 13 seasons of the hit show. So, it wasnt exactly shocking when she dished on her first sexual experience with a woman. The conversation arose on an episode of the Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia podcast. She was really more turned on to me, she recalled. She came toward me. As to why she went for it, she said, I was like, You know what? Id like to experience everything at least once. While she may not have been the initiator, de Lesseps says it was still a very satisfying night for everyone: I showed her the time of her life.Jenna LyonsJenna Lyons was another history-making cast member on the series, as the first openly queer star on the New York series when the show did a full reboot for Season 14. While the fashion executive was out and proud, she drew criticism for hiding her relationship from the camera, including that with her fiance, Cass Bird, to whom she got engaged during her tenure on the show.Racquel ChevremontModel, art curator, and proud lesbian Racquel Chevremont joined the cast of RHONY in Season 16. Not only did Chevremont share her relationship with her fianc, forensic neuropsychologist Mel Corpus, but also the complicated dynamic her queerness created with her family back in Puerto Rico. When she joined the cast, she told PRIDE, "Like Jenna, we came out later in life, and we've just thrived. Especially with everything going on currently, it's important. We're not just the first queer family, but [my partner and I are] also women of color, so that's a new thing for [RHONY]." Talk about a breath of fresh air.The Real Housewives of AtlantaKandi BurussKandi Burruss is another Housewives megastar. The singer, actor, producer, restaurateur, and sex toy entrepreneur is about as powerful as they come. While she is married to Todd Tucker, shes also openly bisexual and is not shy about her past experiences with women sometimes even with her castmates. Iconic in every way.Kim ZolciakKim Zolciak was an original cast member of RHOA who has come and gone over the course of the series. Her chaotic life and love life is one of the many reasons the show is never entirely done with this polarizing castmate. During her time on the show, she has shared her relationships with her sugar daddy Big Poppa, her tumultuous marriage to former NFL star Kroy Biermann, and her sapphic romance with DJ Tracy Young, all the way back in Season 3.Porsha WilliamsLike de Lesseps, Porsha Williams has undergone quite a transformation from the demure wife of former NFL player Kordell Stewart in Season 5. And thank gawd. After ending that marriage, Williams went on a journey of self-discovery, which included her sexual liberation and exploration with women. She has openly talked about her same-sex sexual experiences, and most recently, following her divorce from her third husband, Simon Guobadia, she says she is dating again and is seeing both a man and a woman at the moment.Shamari DeVoeSinger Shamari DeVoe joined the cast of RHOA for Season 14, where she opened up about her bisexual identity and her open marriage to Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe fame. We were on the brink of divorce, Shamari explained on an episode of the show. We were going through some really bad times, and there was a girl that I was interested in, and I wanted to do something different. I was bi-curious!The Real Housewives of New JerseyDanielle StaubDanielle Staub is certainly one of the most divisive cast members on the franchise, but she knows how to keep things interesting. Take, for example, that time she cozied up real close to lesbian singer Lori Michaels on Watch What Happens Live for an intimate rendition of their song. While she played coy at first, Staub later shared that she is a member of the gay community. The Real Housewives of Beverly HillsTaylor ArmstrongTaylor Armstrong is an original cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills who shared her deeply personal experience of trauma from her abusive marriage to Russell Armstrong, who would go on to take his life during her time on the show. Since then, Armstrong has released a memoir, remarried, briefly joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and come out as bisexual during an episode of the show. "Most people are surprised to find out that I'm bisexual probably just because of stereotypes, Taylor explained in her confessional. I mean it's not something I broadcast, but I'm open to all people who have great souls that you can love."Brandi GlanvilleBrandi Glanville joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Seasons 36 and returned as a friend of in Seasons 79, and she never failed to bring the dramasometimes in a fun way, often not-so-much. That included the sapphic chaos. During her time on the show, she stirred things up by outing a makeout with fellow, married castmate Carlton Gebbia, and then later alleging a sexual affair with Denise Richards, who denied the dalliance. As for how she identifies, Glanville says, Im not a lesbian, Im not straight.Denise RichardsWhile Denise Richards may not claim to have had a sexual affair with Glanville, the Wild Things star isn't shy about her past experiences with women. While guesting on Howard Stern, Denise dished to the host about having had a love affair with a famous actress, whom she described as a girly-girl. Shes beautiful.Garcelle BeauvaisWhen Garcelle Beauvais joined the cast of RHOBH, she was a breath of fresh air. The model, actress, author, and producer opened up about the challenges of single motherhood and her continued success in Hollywood. She shared a bit about her dating life, but one moment in particular grabbed sapphics attention. During a dinner conversation that delved into the casts sexual histories, Beauvais opened up about her same-sex experiences back in her modeling days. While she did not go into detail, she did say that it would stay between her and the two other girls she was with.Erika JayneDuring that same dinner, Erika Jayne dished on mnage trois experiences as well, sharing that she had a threesome with a friend and his wife. Or, as she put it, "a penis and two vaginas. Well, OK then. Kyle RichardsIf RHOBH had a face, it would be Kyle Richards, one of the mainstays of the show since day one. Over the course of 14 seasons, she has shared her marriage to Mauricio Umansky, the joys and struggles of raising their four daughters, and the complicated relationship she shares with her sisters Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton. So when it was rumored that she was in a relationship with country singer Morgan Wade, it was a massive shock that broke the internet. While neither have outright confirmed or denied the relationship (despite a lot of pressure from castmates), Richards has shared that she has had terrifying conversations with her daughters about her evolving sexuality. It was the most difficult conversation Ive ever had with my children and I was terrified to have that conversation. I just wanted to be as honest as I possibly could, she explained. There were stories out there about me and this did make me wonder, you know, and question myself.I really never thought like this before. This is not the way I was raised. Thats not the way my mind even operated, she says of her mental state before turning to her kids. And all of a sudden I was thinking like that and I wanted to be as honest with them as possible because they are my best friends. There was also that time she taught Dorit how to scissor on TV. Just sayin. The Real Housewives of MiamiJulia LemigovaWhen RHOM returned for season four after a (criminally) long pause, the new cast included its first-ever sapphic housewife in a same-sex marriage, Julia Lemigova. Since joining, the bisexual model and former Miss USSR, has shared her married life with (polarizing, to say the least) famed former tennis pro Martina Navratilova, her farm, and her tumultuous friendship with Adriana de Moura. In subsequent seasons, their once-passionate friendship had seemingly fizzled over Julias growing closeness to other cast members. But during the Season 7 reunion, she revealed that the friendship suffered a blow after the two slept together, seemingly outing her costar in the process.Adriana de MouraArt dealer, singer, and current Harvard student Adriana de Moura has been a mainstay of the RHOM franchise since Season One, and even now as a friend of, she manages to stay central to the drama. Usually, that comes in the form of feuding with her frenemies, Marysol Patton and Alexia Escheverria. However, since the reboot and Julia's joining the cast, they have been side-eying the duos friendship. There have been foot rubs, sleepovers, and friend-gagements, but as far as audiences know, de Moura has never identified as anything but straight, despite saying that Lemigova has taught her that love has no gender. The Real Housewives of PotomacAshley DarbyAshley Darby is one of the most out and proud of all the Housewives. Openly bisexual, Darby has shared the ups, downs, and now-ended marriage to Michael Darby, which included bringing women into their bedroom. Now liberated from that marriage, Ashley is back to dating and, last season, shared a few sneaky kisses with friend of Jacqueline Blake and performed some very steamy drag king numbers. Katie RostWhile Katie Rost and Ashley Darby may share their bisexuality in common, there is no love lost between this RHOP duo, who frequently clashed during their shared seasons (Rost appeared in Seasons 1, 4, 7, and 10). Rost has been out to her family since she was in eighth grade and has casually said and reaffirmed it on the show and on social media. She has also alleged that she had a sexual relationship with fellow season one castmate Charrisse Jackson-Jordan. Maybe next season on #RHOP, they will ask @charrissejordan about the night we had sex, and I lied for her so she could get her divorce settlement. Maybe? she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. And it just got messier from there. Jackson-Jordan has neither confirmed nor denied the assertion. Mia ThorntonOne thing you cannot deny is that Mia Thornton shook things up when she joined the RHOP cast in season six. Whether it was her troubled marriage to Gordon Thornton, her confusing relationship with her boyfriend Incognito, or simply mixing it up with cast members, she certainly brought the drama. And as it turns out, her bisexualityincluding a history of intimacy with her long-time best friend Jacqueline Blakealso added to the intrigue.

Oklahoma trans woman fired over Charlie Kirk comments was nearly driven to suicide
Degrading comments and death threats came fast and furious on Paula Sofia Schonauers social media. The director of the Counseling Center at Oklahoma City University, who is transgender, had commented on the death of right-wing, anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk, unleashing a flurry of negative responses that caused her to go viral. Next came the consequences. As a target of Charlie Kirk, I must admit, there is a grudging satisfaction that one who has wielded hate and stochastic terrorism is getting a taste of his own medicine, Schonauer wrote. As a citizen of the United States, I am appalled by gun violence, and I send to his family thoughts and prayers.Detractors descended upon her swiftly, and she responded to one, saying, I lament the conditions that produced his violent death, the bereavement of his wife and children, and the inevitable backlash that is likely to land on vulnerable people who deserve no less empathy than you demand of me.I cannot, however, feel empathy for him. He helped construct the very conditions that took his life and did so gleefully, she wrote. Do not shame me for feeling a certain amount of vindication at the death of an oppressor. I certainly know that some people will rejoice at my own demise.Soon her social media accounts and her phone blew up with hateful comments.Related: Charlie Kirk's most anti-LGBTQ+ quotes What a disgusting, inhuman, TDS [Trump Derangement Syndrome]-loving pig you are, stated one caller. You should not be directing anything, you disgusting, ugly, fat-ass pig. You are gross and a waste of humanity.Schonauer was doxxed, and her personal information was put on display for haters to find her. This will be made public, said someone who called Schonauers employers at the university about her post. And you need to be ready to back why you have employed this confused person. The 59-year-old is a U.S. Army Gulf War Veteran and a former Officer of the Year for the Oklahoma City Police Department. After she transitioned in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Schonauer was forced to fight for her job, but she did so successfully and retired in 2014. Paula Sofia Schonauer during her time with the Oklahoma City Police Departmentcourtesy picturedSchonauer chose another path, that of counseling. She had worked for years serving others as both an officer and a soldier, and counseling gave her yet another way to use her skills. It was a successful choice; a licensed clinical social worker, she was named director of OCUs counseling center in 2023, a position that had filled her with purpose. Married, Schonauer celebrated her 19th year with her spouse, Pam, on September 10. She had even recently been awarded a certificate of appreciation by OCU as one of the universitys Influential Women of 2025. But even as she was well known, liked, and celebrated by much of Oklahoma Citys community, Oklahoma is still a conservative red state that famously voted in all its 77 counties to elect President Donald Trump in the last election. Oklahoma City, where Schonauer worked and still lives, is the seat of its conservative government. Just up the street from Schonauers office is that of far-right former State Schools Superintendent Ryan Walters, who last year appointed infamous anti-LGBTQ+ activist Chaya Raichik, who runs the Libs of TikTok social accounts, to the states board of education. Libs of TikTok would become one of many social accounts to target Schonauer after her comments about Kirk. On September 16, it posted a link with a picture of Schonauer waving from a float in Oklahoma Citys Pride Parade, posting a cherry-picked version of Paulas statement.Paula Sophia Schonauer is the Director of Counseling at Oklahoma City University. She allegedly posted this after Charlie was kiIIed saying she got satisfaction. However, when the account holder learned Paula was trans, it posted a sarcastic correction.*VERY IMPORTANT CORRECTION* the post states. Paula Sophia is actually a dude pretending to be a woman. Hes a therapist and is the director of Counseling Services at @OKCU. How can a mentally ill man who thinks hes a woman be in charge of mental health?! Make it make sense. Some social posts listed the names and numbers of college administrators, and the calls and emails began pouring in, Schonauer said. Thats when the university got involved.TerminationSchonauer said she has had a great relationship with her boss. But with the threats flowing into the university, she was told by the human resources office to meet with her supervisor. When she arrived at the supervisors office, the supervisor was crying.I told her, Lets cut to the chase. Im being fired, arent I?The supervisor said yes. Schonauer got up and walked out. A day later, she got the letter from OCU.She had told me initially that she didn't think my posts were that bad, Paula said. But now she sends me this letter and she handpicked, cannot feel empathy for him, a certain amount of vindication for the death of an oppressor, just totally out of context to the rest of what I said. Schonauers boss and OCU would not comment on the details of Schonauer's termination, but the university said in a statement that it continues to advocate for "respectful discourse and tolerance among our community members."Related: Meet the transgender Marine Corps vet running for Congress in Pennsylvania"We hold our employees to high standards of conduct, and we act with the well-being of our entire university community in mind," the statement said. "While we cannot provide details on specific personnel situations, we can say we remain firmly committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and affirming campus."Something in Schonauer snapped. An old plan, a very old plan, sprang to mind, the one she had decided to use when she served as a police officer almost 30 years ago, when her fellow officers harassed her for transitioning. In those days, Schonauer had watched how her colleagues would share and mock crime scene photos. She knew that should she meet an untimely end, these officers would celebrate and chortle over her death pictures. Well, they wouldnt, she decided. She would drive to a secluded rural area she knew of outside the citys police jurisdiction, take her service sidearm, and shoot herself in the head. The plan easily snapped back into place. I am kind of shocked, really, that it came up so quickly [after my firing at OCU], that old plan, Schonauer said. She got into her pickup and began what she thought would be her final journey. She was going to a place so remote that by the time they found her body, it would have decayed beyond recognition. Those officers couldnt make fun of her if they couldnt recognize her. Even as suicidal ideation is highly prevalent in the LGBTQ+ community, it also occurs with high frequency in the lives of police officers. A 2023 study from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law found 42 percent of transgender adults have attempted suicide, while police officers have about a 60 percent higher suicide rate than the general population, according to several studies. A committed, 22-year veteran of the police force, Schonauer faced a double dose. However, as she neared the city limits, she experienced what she couldnt help but describe as a miracle. Her pickup broke down catastrophically. An engine part called a harmonic damper" malfunctioned and caused the engine to begin tearing itself apart. The truck overheated, and Schonauer had to pull over next to a McDonalds at the edge of town. Schonauer stood alone next to her smoking vehicle on the side of the road. Thats when a random family stopped to help. The act of kindness pulled Schonauer out of what she termed a death spiral and gave her the strength to turn around, pick herself up, and face the path homeward. Schonauer said she will always be grateful to that family who helped and had no idea of the dark abyss from which they had pulled her. They offered me two bottles of coolant they had. I could tell by the looks on their faces they were concerned about me, Schonauer said. When that family helped me, it pulled me out of that spiral. I couldnt get back into the frame of mind for self-destruction after they helped me.Schonauer, a former deacon in the Episcopal Church, added, My wife says it's a God thing, and I have to agree. But what next? Look for a new job? Leave town? Get a lawyer? Even as plans were up in the air for Schonauer, the calls, comments, and letters of support started. Petitions and choicesA letter from a longtime OCU alum whose parents had started departments in the university wrote to the universitys president, Kenneth Evans. I was frankly shocked to read about the termination of Paula Schonauer, she wrote. Paula is a respected public figure and civic leader in our purple city and in our state, and someone with wide support for her courage and example. I have assumed that the academic institutions I have had personal contact with and regard for would not so quickly and easily capitulate to political fear and extremist pressures. Paula Sofia Schonauercourtesy picturedI am writing to express my outrage at the unjust termination of Paula Schonauer, wrote another. I have known Ms. Schonauer for 18 years and can attest that she is the very epitome of compassion and ethics which, in my estimation, should make her a prized resource for your institution in her position as Director of Counseling Services. Evidently Oklahoma City University is also no longer an institution that values free speech, the first amendment of the US Constitution, or the safety of its transgender (and other minority?) faculty and students. I urge you to reverse this action and demonstrate that the university truly values its students and community.Meanwhile, students at OCU began circulating a petition last week for Schonauer's reinstatement. I am calling/writing to express my frustration with the unjust termination of Paula Schonauer. This decision betrays the values of free speech and shows that OCU does not uphold its stated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I urge you to reverse this action and demonstrate that the university truly values its students and community.By Monday, the petition had garnered more than 800 signatures, more than half of the universitys undergraduate enrollment. The flood of well-wishes on her behalf is truly overwhelming, she said. A local venue has recently announced a petition party to garner even more signatures. Meanwhile, Schonauer and her wife are considering their next steps. Pam and I would prefer to stay where we are, in the home we love, and with the community cradling us through this scary time, Paula wrote on Facebook. But, I also made a promise to loved ones to stay alive. That means we may have to relocate. Everything is on the table, right now.According to a recent article in The New York Times, at least 145 people from all walks of life have been fired from their jobs in the wake of the Charlie Kirk killing for comments regarding his death. In all this, Schonauer said that even though she feels sheepish telling others about her near-suicide, she hopes those facing what she has faced get a kind word, helpful comment, or helping hand. She asked for those who have LGBTQ+ friends to reach out to them. It might make a difference, she said.I would not be here if that family hadnt reached out to me, Schonauer said. Who is Lilah Gibney and why are her fellow queer creators exposing her?
If you've been on TikTok recently, you may have noticed a pattern of popular queer creators calling out a woman named Lilah Gibney. Back in 2019, Gibney garnered public support when she called out Jake Paul's content collective Team 10 for transphobia and accused a video editor named Blane ORoark of saying that she and her fellow trans creator Kendall Raindrop were not "real girls." The accusations came in the form of a well-received YouTube video Gibney posted shortly after the incident. But recently, it seems like the tide has been turning against the trans creator, apparently after years of unpleasant interactions and some shocking moments that are coming to light in videos her former friends are making about her. - YouTube www.youtube.com One of the first videos to open up the floodgates was from a former Team 10 member, Cole Carrigan, an openly queer makeup artist who denounced Paul's group and left shortly after the controversy involving Gibney. Although Carrigan left the collective because of a separate issue, the two creators openly supported each other at the time.In the video which has over 5.8 million views after being posted for less than a week Carrigan addresses why his and Gibney's relationship has soured. Appearing under overlayed text that reads "Surviving Lilah Gibney storytime," he says he's just gotten back from a weekend in Los Angeles with Gibney, whom he calls the most "psychotic, robotic, out-of-touch-of-reality, wannabe celebrity, micro-influencer." For context, he adds that the two of them used to live together and were close friends before he eventually moved out of the city, got in an abusive relationship, and became addicted to drugs.Carrigan then explains that he flew to L.A. to attend a Tate McRae concert, and Gibney offered for him to stay with her, but the entire stay was filled with clout-chasing activities, pee-soaked restaurant booths (and concert seats), and accusations of theft. @carrigancole it just gets worse and worse Im sorry but you cannot treat ppl this way and except it to be slid under the rug. disgusted that people like this even exist, anyways thank you guys for having my back moving on now love u #fyp #storytime Carrigan says that he and Gibney went out to dinner the night before the show, and she had hired a paparazzi photographer to take photos of her. After about an hour of posing for photos and having him wait at the table alone, Gibney berated Carrigan for his poor attitude and then proceeded to get up throughout the meal to post TikToks from the bathroom. "Meanwhile, she literally peed in the catch booth like three or four times, and at the concert in her seat, and in multiple Ubers," he says in the video, before accusing Gibney of getting so drunk that she ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant and had to be dragged into a car unconscious. He also says that when he went to Gibney's closet to borrow a pair of shoes for the dinner, he found two pairs of Dior Converse sneakers and some Fendi sunglasses that he thought he had lost sharing a clip of him with the recovered items. As the video winds down, the TikToker describes going to the concert the next day, mentioning again that Gibney peed in her seat and then describing how she spent the evening boasting about being well connected. Carrigan shares more unflattering details from the weekend, including that Gibney accused him of stealing her drugs, and then ends by saying that he tried to give an old friend the benefit of the doubt after five years apart but knew it wouldn't end well. @kendallraindrop I know I say um a lot but this video but I had so much anxiety to edit or even post. I want everyone to heal and wish them the best and to find the same peace I have Another one of Gibney's former friends who was around during the Team 10 drama, Kendall Raindrop, uploaded a TikTok video on Sunday, sharing why she's no longer friends with the influencer. "I've been going back and forth about making this video," Raindrop says in her video. "Lilah Gibney just really needs help."In the video, Raindrop says that she and Gibney became friends back in 2019 after meeting at an influencer party and grew closer over time. She then goes on to talk about two negative experiences she had with Gibney, saying that she was terrorized by the influencer's erractic mood swings and mean girl behavior. "At the end of the day, what I want Lilah and y'all to get from this video is that Lilah is a damaged person, damaging other people, and she needs to get be healed and grow up," Raindrop says in the video. "I've separated myself from partying and drugs, going out and being crazy, because that is not fulfilling. People do make mistakes and do bad things when they're intoxicated, but it's not cute or cool and it just needs to stop." @popcultureporn someone asked me to post this and so hey this is insane! i guess the shes always peeing and shitting somewhere comments werent exaggerating #tanamongeau #lilahgibney #funny #clip #fyp As Gibney has become the subject of conversation on TikTok, other users have started sharing videos detailing their experiences with her or their opinions on the situation, as well as clips of people talking about her or catching her doing something inappropriate. A few of the most popular videos involve or come courtesy of Tana Mongeau, including one that seems to show Gibney pooping on the side of the road after saying she needs to use the bathroom. There is a clip from Mongeau's now-finished podcast Cancelled, which she used to cohost with friend Brooke Schofield, where the influencer Trevi Moran is invited to talk about her experiences with Gibney. And in another clip that went viral, racking up over 130,000 views, Mongeau talks about how on a plane to Hawaii, Gibney called the flight attendants transphobic for accusing her of smoking a marijuana vape in the bathroom, despite admitting to it once they were in the clear. @popcultureporn i think ms. gibney is a bit delulu #tanamongeau #brookeschofield #lilahgibney #cancelledpodcast #fyp Throughout all of this, Gibney seems determined to act like nothing is going on, continuing to post on her social media as usual. On Sunday, the creator put up a haul video, showing off what she bought from T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Although, many viewers responded with comments like "How are you posting like normal?" and "How about accountability?"Gibney has yet to address the scandal taking over the internet.

We need to find our way back.I served this country, I love this country and the song itself is about all of us coming out of this divided space. Meet Anthony Boyle, the big talent behind House of Guinnesss gay beer king
The girls, gays, and theys have a new, mustachioedcrush. Is that an imperial pint in your pants, or are you just happy to see us?Anthony Boyle, a 31-year-old actor from Belfast, Northern Ireland who plays the lead role of Arthur Guinness on House of Guinness, is the newest Netflix heartthrob and viral sensation among online gays. And hes handsome, obviously! The mustache is doing its thing, too Not to mention the impeccable costumes of the series, which are getting great reviews. And lets keep it real: Boyles full frontal scenes, not wearing any clothes, are all the rage as well. However, it must be noted that this crush is not as shallow and mystifying as others can be.See on InstagramBoyle is gaining a legion of fans because, as an actor on House of Guinness, hes delivering an incredibly charismatic and lived-in performance of a character that couldve easily been dreadful.Arthur Guinness is, first and foremost, based on a real-life person who was an heir to the Irish brewing empire surrounding the Guinness family. The real person lived in the 19th century which doesnt give anyone a great sense of direction and, by all accounts, couldve easily slipped into Kendall Roys Im the eldest boy territory.Between all the chaos, and fighting, and power struggles, and secret love affairs, viewers still find themselves rooting for Arthur, which is a testament to Steven Knights great writing and directing of House of Guinness, as well as the nuanced characterization that Boyle brings to life.See on InstagramBesides the pressures and challenges of embodying a real person who played a significant role in Irelands most famous and successful family of all time, House of Guinness leaned all the way into adding another layer to the character: In the Netflix series, Arthur is unequivocally and proudly gay!As described on the actors cover story for GQ Hype in the U.K., Boyle and Knight agreed that the on-screen Arthur wouldnt be ashamed of his sexuality. Not only would the show run with the rumors that Arthur Guinness was a gay man, but they would take it to the most self-empowering degree possible. We really wanted him to feel proud of himself, and that everyone else was wrong, Boyle told GQ Hype. As such, fans get to see Arthur navigating the challenges of being a homosexual man in 1860s Ireland even if he had wealth and status to help. Homosexuality in Ireland was only decriminalized in 1993.Even though Boyle has never identified himself as any label within the LGBTQ+ acronym, he was born in 1994 in Northern Ireland Boyle is just two years older than drag artist Blu Hydrangea (also from Northern Ireland), who revealed while competing on RuPauls Drag Race UK season 1 that same-sex marriage was still not legalized in North Ireland as of 2019. In January 2020, very shortly after that surprising Drag Race revelation, Northern Ireland legalized same-sex marriage.See on InstagramBoyle is also doing a fantastic job at managing his now-massive fandom expertly walking the tightrope between who he is in real life while also having some fun with the character that hes becoming most famous for. From the gay storylines of it all to the mustache discourse, its clear that Boyle is having a blast.I wouldnt mind a traditional sort of tache, but its these wings, Boyle humorously complained in the interview with GQ Hype. Its too much. But Ill clip it and maybe itll look good at Christmas.See on InstagramBefore becoming a global star on Netflix, Boyle was best known for his work in theater, which helped him land TV and film roles.Notably, the actor originated the role of Scorpius Malfoy in the West End and Broadway productions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, for which he won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. Those opportunities led him to land roles in movies like 2019's Tolkien, 2023s Tetris, and 2025s Animal Within. On television, he was also cast on shows like Derry Girls, Masters of the Air, Manhunt, Say Nothing, and eventually House of Guinness.See on InstagramLooking forward, Boyle is currently attached to a TV series titled The Altruists. Hes also been attached to an upcoming feature film titled I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning. For now, the Arthur Guinness hype is keeping him pretty busy, but fans are looking forward to seeing whats next.

DJ Bridge's sets are 'for the girls and gays only'
Music is the rhythm of my life. From dawn 'til dusk, I find myself listening to various genres from classical to pop, jazz to alt-rock. It all depends on the time of day and what I'm doing at the moment. More Beyonc's "Freakum Dress" over Rachmaninoff's "Prlude in C-Sharp" when getting ready to go out on the town. On occasions, I'm also listening to music when I should be sleeping, scrolling through social media to find new artists and DJs to listen to. It was one night while scrolling on TikTok that I came upon Bridget Kyeremateng, who seemed to not only move with the music but inhale it like air.I was hooked. I chatted with the "diva DJ" and storyteller on house music, spirituality, and bringing everyone to the dance floor.Marie-Adlina de la Ferrire: Tell our readers a little bit about yourself?Bridget Kyeremateng: Oh my gosh, I love this question. Um, so my name is Bridget. I also go by Bridge either as a nickname or, you know, my DJ name. I was born in Italy and I lived there for quite some time. My family and I later immigrated to California, where I spent a lot of my years learning what it meant to be Black in the U.S.I attended the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB), where I graduated with degrees in Black Studies and Feminist Studies. After that, I moved to New York City, where I've been working in marketing for various companies, including Tumblr, Spotify, and Twitch. But I've always believed and felt that art can make an impact. It's the best way to get through to people, at least for me. And I've always loved music. I picked up DJing about four years ago, and it reignited my love for being on stage and sharing art, expressing what it means to feel fully alive in a very challenging time. I do all these things, but at the end of the day, what I love to do is inspire others to feel free.Who or what was your introduction to house music?YouTube, 2003. I was searching for music as I always do, and I came across a song called "Change for Me" by Eric Roberson. Those chords, that melody, completely changed how I listen to music. I was familiar with genres like funk, soul, R&B, and disco. But I'd never heard such a disco-inspired track on top of a four on the floor beat. It just changed my world. What's the vibe like at one of your DJ sets?My ethos is always to play uplifting house music. I want to introduce people to new music. I want to challenge people to listen to music in a different way. And I want people to have fun. I want them to leave feeling as though they were cleansed or lifted. And because music is such an ancestral calling for me, you will never ever see me stand still. If I'm standing still, that's cuz my feet hurt, my back hurts, I'm thinking about the next song, or I'm drinking some water.Every single chord, every lyric, every vocal, I'm taking in that energy from my ancestors, from the producers, from the artists, and I am just regurgitating it back to the audience. I want them to go, "Wow, if that DJ is living her best life on the stage, I should also do the same."Everyone's recording everyone, and people feel insecure, nervous, or scared. So I want to challenge that. I'm on stage; you're looking at me. If I'm acting a fool, then you can act a fool. Live your life. Express yourself.@iambridgeetWhen my ancestors call, I answer! Ive always said DJing is my ancestral call and I feel very pulled to this art form. I may not be a practicing Catholic anymore but I believe in spirituality and divine calling. This is mine #gospel #gospelhouse #gospelhousemusic #dj #soulsummit #femaledj #womeninmusic #housemusic #househead #explore #brooklyn #explorepage #nyc #newyorkcity #knockdowncenter #foryourpage #viralvideo #viraltiktok #fypYou said DJing is like an ancestral calling. Can you talk more about that?I'm Ghanian. On this side of my mom's family, they're deeply rooted in like Vodu and spiritual work. The older I've gotten, the more I've become attuned, and I've opened myself up to listening to my ancestors and letting them guide me.And I've learned through my DJing that every time I am on that stage, I truly open myself up to others. And the light that is beaming from me is the light of all of my ancestors who've come before me, who did this very same work. Whatever it looked like to them, whichever of my ancestors gave light and spread joy and inspired, that's all in one beaming down to me. When I'm on stage, I sometimes just move through the feeling...like overtaken by my ancestors, you know?I am being carried and guided by people in my corner who recognize that my current mission is to help people feel joy.In these troubling times, how do you believe that house music can heal and unite?House music, at its core, is very spiritual, and it invites everyone. I recently had a wonderful experience at Sankofa and the ClubHouse Jamboree, and it was truly beautiful. The entire community was a massive, diverse pool of people: Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z; Black, white, gay, straight, trans. You had everyone! And everyone was in the same frequency, the same tune, expressing moves, expressing energy, exchanging energy. That entire weekend, and anytime I go, I watch my other house DJs curate these spaces. It's so hard to hate one another when you are in a space of love. For me, house music is a place where I constantly feel at home. Whether I'm DJing, going to an event, or at home.House music brings diverse people together. It has multiple subgenres and encompasses everything someone can feel. It has afro-soul. It has disco. It has gospel. It has deep house. It's a universal language, and I firmly believe it's because it was created by Black people and popularized by the queer community and the Latino community. And because of that, we are seeing a very beautiful and intentional genre that, when you are in the right place at the right time, is transcendental.See on InstagramWhy is it important to tap into the black queer origins of house music?Everyone constantly wants to forget that Black music and queer history are intertwined. We look at disco, right? And disco was a fascinating time when people were able to express themselves, specifically Black and queer individuals. We saw the death of disco, the demolition of disco. This was a racist and homophobic act. And what happened after that? We got house music. House music was disco's revenge. And the free spaces, the accommodating spaces, were spaces for Black, queer, and Latino people. The popularization of house music is largely attributed to the Black queer community. And people forget that. We look at Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, and other Black queer men who paved the way. And for some reason, as history has continued to unfold, we have whitewashed it. Same as we've done with every genre. This is a tale as old as time.As a Black woman and someone who has done a lot of my work highlighting and elevating marginalized communities, it's imperative for me not just to DJ the music. There is history in what I'm doing. There is education in what I'm doing. I am here because of the black queer community. It is because of their sacrifices that I am here. How can I simply go on stage and receive all the benefits without sharing knowledge, without providing education?White cisgender men are given a lot of these opportunities to DJ house music, and they are not doing the work of educating their community. They don't feel like they have to. And if that alienates me, then that's fine. I'd rather have people come to my sets and understand that the story I'm creating and the person they are seeing is constantly highlighting and has an intention of recognizing the queer community. For me, my space is a space where anyone can come and feel safe. But I always say, and you can you can quote me on this, I DJ for the girls and gays only.Voices is dedicated to featuring a wide range of inspiring personal stories and impactful opinions from the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. 'The Wheel of Time's Taylor Napier swaps the cloak for a Speedo photoshoot
Taylor Napier broke ground playing Maksim, a warrior in a queer throuple in The Wheel of Time. Over three seasons, the actor became a fan favorite and a sex symbol playing a warder in the fantasy series while offering a rare representation of bisexual men on TV. The sexual, loving relationship between Maksim, Ivhon (Emmanuel Imani/Anthony Kaye), and their Aes Sedai Alanna (Priyanka Bose) was among several progressive stories on the Prime Video series based on the books by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.Though the Rosamund Pike-led The Wheel of Time ended this year after three seasons, Napier, who is queer, amassed a devoted fan base throughout the run. In a beachy photoshoot with Ramon Christian, the actor reveals a few new sides to himself.I loved it. I go to the gym a lot. I work out a lot, and I dont do that to put a baggy sweater over my body, Napier tells Out about baring so much for the shoot. It is nice to be able to show off the hard work and be able to celebrate everything I put into being healthy, but also, honestly, a little bit my vanity. With fame often comes increased social media visibility, and Napier (@taylornapier89) is aware of what it takes to keep an audience engaged. Its a weird kind of cross-section of this version of yourself that you have to put out there, and you have to sell your brand, in a weird way. And you have to kind of decide what your brand is, he says. For some people, that is sexy photos, its cooking, or relatability.A social media persona is this one side of yourself that youre trying to promote, youre trying to sell yourself as, and it is a bit tricky because it does feel as though it underplays the art of what Ive done, you know, on the show, and what all actors do, he says while acknowledging its a tool for promotion.Scroll through Napiers steamy photoshoot with the photographer Ramon Christian (@ramonchristian.photo) ahead.

Dolly Partons sister apologizes for worrying fans about singer's health
Dolly Parton's sister, Frieda, backtracked on her request for the public to pray for her sister's health after the singer announced she was postponing a few concerts due to "health challenges." She apologized for worrying any of her sister's fans, writing a post on Facebook late last night that reads: "I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She's been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference." (@) It's unclear exactly what health condition Dolly is dealing with, but Frieda's initial posts led fans to worry that something more troubling was happening, especially after she pushed back some of her Las Vegas shows by nine months after saying her doctors recommended she get a few procedures done for her health issues. "I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you," the singer wrote in a September post, joking that it's time for her 100,000 mile check-up. (@) So, it's easy to understand why her fans were worried when Frieda uploaded a post that reads: "Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. "Many of you know she hasnt been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been (led) to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. I know in my heart she's going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!"Everyone knows that Dolly is tough as nails and she said in her September post that she sees this as a sign to "slow down" but she tells her fans, "don't worry about me quittin' the business because God hasn't said anything about stopping yet."

Magic in the making: Miss Piggy is officially going to Broadway
It's a surprise that it's taken this long, but Miss Piggy is finally getting her turn on a Broadway stage. It was revealed on Wednesday morning that the snouted diva will make her Broadway debut in Rob Lake Magic With Special Guests The Muppets at the Broadhurst Theatre alongside Kermit the Frog later this month. The show was announced back in August, but it wasn't officially confirmed whether Miss Piggy would be joining the cast until now. (@) All eyes were on Cole Escola after the news of the Muppets coming to Broadway originally broke, due to an appearance on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast where they named Miss Piggy at their top pick to play Mary Todd Lincoln in a movie version of the hit play Oh, Mary!.At the time, the show's official X account uploaded a photo of a Notes app page that read: "To our OH, MARY! family We saw the news about Miss Piggy going into another Broadway show. Thank you for the support at this time." The account also uploaded a promo image for Lake's show with the caption, "miss piggy we just want to talk." (@) But it seems as though Miss Piggy has made her decision, pinning her hopes on becoming an even bigger star to Lake and his magic show.Previews for Rob Lake Magic With Special Guests The Muppets will begin at the Broadhurst Theatre starting October 28, with opening night scheduled for November 6. The show is set to run through January 18, 2026. In the official press release announcing the show back in August, Lake expressed his excitement about getting to work with the iconic characters. Netflix Brasil has officially reignited one of Heartbreak Highs most unhingedand unforgettablemoments. The regional account reposted that scene from season 2, episode 4 (Legs Open Hearts Broken), where Malakai (Thomas Weatherall) and Rowan (Sam Rechner)s attempt at sharing sunscreen quickly turns into something far steamier than SPF protection. 'Monster: Ed Gein's gynophilia plot endangers real-life trans women
"Ed, I don't think you and I are alike at all."In episode 7 of Monster: The Ed Gein Story, the titular murderer finally meets his supposed hero, Christine Jorgensen, only for her to say that he's not a transsexual like she is he's a "gynephile."Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy's true crime anthology series has stirred controversy, and the newest season is no different. While previous seasons have been criticized for exploiting grisly murders and portraying fictional incest plotlines, the latest season is drawing ire from the trans community for its promotion of a pseudoscientific theory that is used to scapegoat trans women. In Monster, Jorgensen tells Gein he's a "gynophile," which means someone attracted to women. However, the show is clearly referencing autogynephilia, a paraphilia, or atypical and persistent sexual fantasy where a person is aroused at the idea of being a woman or having a woman's body. In other words, Monster is saying that Ed Gein wasn't transgender, but was simply a transvestite, or crossdresser, with a fetish for women's bodies. This autogynephilia plotline peddles a debunked theory that has been outside of accepted science for years, while reinvigorating it. It presents a new face for this anti-trans talking point: Ed Gein.Ed Gein was convicted of two murders in the 1950s, and after his arrest, stories came out that he crossdressed, had sex with corpses, wore his victims' skin, wanted to be a woman, and potentially killed many more people. His myth would go on to inspire horror classics, including Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs. As discussed in the documentary Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen, each of those movies features a crossdressing killer, and in both The Silence of the Lambs and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the killer wears a suit or mask made out of his female victim's skin. This trope shaped Americans' views of trans people for decades before shows like Orange is the New Black and Transparent featured trans actors in trans roles with rich lives and more diverse storylines.Whether or not the real Gein was a transvestite or was fascinated with Jorgensen is up for debate, as Drew Gregory writes for Autostraddle. Either way, labeling him as a "gynephile," what Brennan and Murphy have confused with "autogynophile," could lead to serious ramifications for real-life trans women at a time when politicians are scapegoating trans people. In this new version from showrunner Brennan, Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) plays the killer with a lilting voice and feminine affectations. But the show goes even further in conflating deviance with queerness in proposing that Gein was an autogynephile.Unfortunately, by doing this, Brennan and the show are not only repeating and amplifying TERF (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist) talking points. They are potentially putting real-life trans women in danger. In 2025, the word autogynephile is used in the same sentences where trans women are labeled as groomers and pedophiles. Its used by politicians who are banning healthcare and access to public spaces for trans people, and it's used in conversation therapy.I've written about psychologist Ray Blanchard's theory of autogynephilia before. It proposes that there are two types of trans women: heterosexual trans women who transition because they find homosexual life too hard, and others who transition due to a "misdirected heterosexual sex drive" and a paraphilia that makes them aroused at the idea of being a woman. There are multiple problems with the theory that immediately jump out, including the fact that gender and sexuality are different parts of one's identity that are not always tied to each other. Reports also show that up to 93 percent of cis women experience "erotic arousal to the thought or image of oneself as a woman."So, if cis women are just as gynephilic as trans women, what good does this label do?In Monster, Gein purchases ham radios so he can talk with his heroes a Nazi war criminal and Jorgensen, an actress and singer, and the first woman publicized as having gender affirming surgeries in 1951 and 1952. In reality, his radio isn't plugged in, and his conversations are delusional discussions with himself over things his doctors have told him. In his imagined conversation with Jorgensen, with whom the series claims Gein had a long-term fascination, he asks her if she thinks they're alike.Jorgensen tells him a resounding, "No." Gein is not a transsexual, she says, he's a "gynephile.""The transsexual is rarely the perpetrator of violence, Mr. Gein, we are far more likely to be the victims of violence," she says, parroting a famous line from The Silence of the Lambs. "I don't think deep down that you're a woman, Ed. I don't even think you want to be a woman. "You're what they call a gynophiliac, you so eroticize the female body that you wish to put it on, to be inside of it. That's not an identity, that's sexualization," she adds, adding that his actions are "the ultimate way to penetrate a woman."It sounds like dialogue straight out of J.K. Rowling's wildest dreams. In an interview with Tudum, Brennan (co-creator of other Murphy projects including Scream Queens and Hollywood), says that the scene was "necessary" so the show could draw a line between trans women and autogynephiles."It was really important for us to make that distinction, for us to say, 'Look, these are two very different things," he says. "And it was cool to be able to put it in the mouth of Christine Jorgensen. For him to be told that through her in his mind was a really cool moment."What Brennan seems to be unaware of is that psychologists and doctors aren't the ones who define transsexuals (another, often more clinical, word for transgender people) and autogynephiles as two separate categories. TERFs and transphobes do too.In fact, autogynephilia has become one of the main talking points for anti-trans activists who say that trans women and particularly trans women who are attracted to other women are sexual deviants and mentally ill.In the paper The Psychopathology of 'Sex Reassignment' Surgery by Richard P. Fitzgibbons, Philip M. Sutton, and Dale O'Leary, autogynephilia is cited numerous times. The paper says that "all gender-dysphoric biological males who are not homosexual are instead autogynephilic." It goes on to say that "autogynephilic transsexuals" are "generally less convincing as women and less overtly 'sexy' than [heterosexual transsexuals]."It continues, saying that "autogynephilia doesn't come from gender dysphoria, but from, "transvestic fetishes and masturbatory fantasies [in]adolescence" that involve crossdressing and masturbating while looking at themselves in a mirror."As writer and trans activist Julia Serano points out, conservative news sites and blogs love to bring out talking points about autogynephilia. Many of these points sound eerily similar to the conversation in Monster.Serano brings up a Focus on the Family pamphlet titled, "Helping Children with Gender Identity Confusion." In the section asking what causes "gender confusion," the pamphlet says that "Gender confusion is a type of fetish where some adolescent boys and men are aroused by putting on women's clothes. (This is sometimes called 'autogynephilia' love of oneself as a woman or 'transvestic fetishism.')""Around 90 percent are late-transitioning straight men with a sexual fetish for being and living as women, and a history of cross-dressing autogynephilia. The rest are early-transitioning, effeminate gay men who find it easier to live as women," Marcus Gregory wrote for The Federalist in a 2017 essay defending conversion therapy. He adds that Blanchard's theory of autogynephilia reveals that "gender identity is an alibi for activists real motives" and that "adult transitioning is usually sexually motivated, in a way we'd consider deviant."Conservative political commentator Ryan T. Anderson writes in his book When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment: Studies at the Clarke Institute in Toronto arrived at a similar conclusion: that discordant gender identity in adult males could arise from homosexuality or from autogynephilia, a mans sexual arousal in presenting himself as a woman."Anderson then quotes anti-gay and anti-trans psychiatrist Paul R. McHugh, who said that to provide gender-affirming surgery to trans patients is "to collaborate with a mental disorder rather than to treat it."Other anti-trans activists use the theory of autogynephilia to paint trans women who are attracted to women as sexual predators and paint their desire to transition and live as women as sex play.In society, there are lines that we draw, and we cannot engage nonconsensual people in our sexual fantasies. You know, do it in the bedroom when theres no one there, and youre all good," Gender Critical activist Helen Staniland says on notorious transphobe Graham Linehan's podcast. "You cant dress up as a woman at work, say, and expect people to call you she because its a part of your sexual fantasy. Its obvious this is wrong. Well, its obvious to us. But it isnt obvious to people who have never heard of autogynephilia."Instead of explaining the difference between men who commit violent crimes and trans women, Murphy and Brennan have simply repeated TERF talking points and given them a face.Autogynephile is a TERF dogwhistle, and when it's used today, most people mean trans women when they say it. If they're being more specific, they mean trans lesbians and bisexuals who don't necessarily pass. They mean the trans women who can be identified in public places like bathrooms. If we see them as autogynephiles instead of women, it's not only acceptable to kick them out of women's spaces, it's righteous in their minds.Monster won't prevent that; it will only continue to further the divide between how people see trans women into two groups: the "good" ones who go stealth and are straight, and the "bad" ones who are attracted to women and are visibly trans. In the past, when transsexuals were mentioned, people without real-life experience would think of horror villains like Leatherface, Buffalo Bill, and Norman Bates. Now, when TERFs talk about autogynephiles, a new generation of people will picture Ed Gein (or maybe Hunnan's version of him).No matter Brennan and Murphy's intentions, Monster: The Ed Gein Story does more than play into anti-trans tropes about serial killers. It promotes these harmful narratives. Boots breakout star Max Parker is ready to command
The role of Sgt. Sullivan on Netflixs Boots is played by British actor Max Parker, who delivers a complex performance merging the softer and rougher edges of a closeted man who has learned to survive but necessarily thrive, or even have an fulfilling life within the U.S. Marine Corps. As a cast member in the long-running U.K. soap opera Emmerdale Farm, Parkers sexuality became a hot topic of discussion in the late 2010s. This prompted the actor to take matters into his own hands which led to his official coming-out story in 2020 (via Attitude). Along with disclosing that hes a gay man, Parker also revealed that had indeed been dating Emmerdale costar Kris Mochrie. Its truly been a landmark year for Parker. Besides finally getting a release date for the long-awaited Boots series, the actor also got married to Mochrie in August, and the couple looks happier than ever!In an interview with Out, Parker discusses his approach to playing a man like Sgt. Sullivan in the U.S. Marine Corps, the disquieting waiting period to hear any updates that the series would resume filming, and how LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream films and TV shows did help him understand his own sexuality.Editor's note: This story contains mild spoilers from season 1 of Boots. Max Parker on Boots.NetflixOut: You had a breakout role in Emmerdale, which isnt a show that airs widely in the U.S., even though its a cultural staple in the U.K. Boots will certainly introduce your work to a lot of new fans. When did you get into acting, and how did it go?Max Parker: I mean, I was quite a hyperactive kid, so my parents wanted to get some energy out. My sisters used to go to acting, and singing, and dancing, and all of it. I just joined in on the Saturdays.Later in life, I realized that I have ADHD. Back then, it was seen like Id have an obsession for a month, and then Id change it. Acting is the one thing that Ive never dropped or moved on from, so I knew thats what I wanted to do.My parents did the same thing to me. They had me in computer classes, swimming, soccer, theater It was a lot. They said it was meant to fill out time. Were there things that you tried and immediately just went, Nope!?Oh, yeah. I went through the same. I did Scouts. I tried horse riding for a bit. I was obsessed with DIY. Cooking. Ive done loads of it. I still like to cook. Im quite a foodie. The thing is, if I know Im not going to be the best, Im already like, Next!Youve worked on a lot of projects across film, television, and theater. Youve done a lot of musicals. Something that caught my attention was a production of The Wizard of Oz. The Vivienne, the winner of RuPauls Drag Race UK season 1, had been doing an Oz show in the West End, too. Were you ever in the same company? No, I wasnt. Ours was before that one, but I did have some friends.I did theater my whole life, and because Ive followed what my friends did, I ended up in musical theater. I did that for about five years and then made the switch to TV and film. I think, in America, it might be a little easier to do both. In the UK, its definitely quite hard to swap from theater to TV and film.I hadnt worked for a little while, so I did Wizard of Oz on a whim, and then I ended up being nominated for Best Supporting Actor. And then, from that, I got my first TV job. It was a weird one to jump off from But, I mean, obviously now its having a resurgence with Wicked, and everyone reliving the story of The Wizard of Oz.I was about to say, youd be a great Fiyero!Well, after doing Boots and screaming as a drill instructor 24/7, I dont know if my vocal cords will be up for that, to be honest. [Laughs.] Max Parker // white heavy knit jumper: givenchy @ Designer Exchange // shorts: arket // socks: london sock co // shoes: gh bassPhotography: David Reiss (@davidreissphotography) / Stylist: Holly (@holly_macnaghten)When did you first join Boots? Weve been waiting for this project for so long. What was your story getting involved with it?I assume I was the wild card because I had about eight rounds of auditions, and every round it was a new bunch of scenes. So by the time I came to film it, I pretty much knew the whole first few episodes [Laughs]. But yeah, at the start of the audition process two and a half years ago I didnt necessarily think it was right for me.Seeing movies about the military and seeing drill instructors, none of them essentially looked like me. A lot of them were older, huge, jacked guys with gray hair. And the more and more I read the script, the more and more research I did about that era and different drill instructors, it made me realize, Oh, this is for me.I was desperate to get the role after that. And when I found out I did get the role, I had get to New Orleans, where we filmed Which I think is near you, right?Yeah, kind of. The U.S. is pretty big. But my last time going to New Orleans, I did drive there from Florida. So, you can drive there, its just a long drive.Well, it was a whirlwind trying to get the visa and to fly straight to New Orleans. Were all glad it worked out! You play Sgt. Sullivan on Boots a Marine whos gained a lot of respect but is still haunted by things that have happened in the past. And your character is still in the closet, too. We dont really understand whats going on with him until the very end, so did you approach playing this character in the first few episodes?I think its quite clever in the show how it goes back and shows a bit more, and then you get to understand Sullivan a bit better. But I think, first and foremost, I wanted to make him Hes a tortured man, so his drilling style was being more mysterious, and explosive. Knowing the backstory of Sullivan fed into the way he does everything.Hes under this pressure cooker, running away from basically feeling guilty about maybe implicating his partner. Hes running away from going to prison, too. And then, when it all starts to finally catch up with him, its this ultimate fear. Thats why hes so explosive, and turns to alcohol, and turns to violence. The amazing scripts, as well. It was a gift to go through the whole script and portray all the different facets of Sullivan. Hes such an interesting character because the main things that make him more interesting are all the stuff that he cant show. Max Parker on Boots.NetflixThis is an ensemble show with a lot of characters, and its interesting how it sort of reminds me of Orange Is the New Black. Theres so much going on, and so many people, but viewers are still somehow able to pinpoint, Oh, this persons about that thing. It tells the story of all the characters very well.I agree. I said that to one of the cast members, Angus [OBrien], who plays Hicks, that he was like our Crazy Eyes.Oh my god, I didnt even think of that, but totally. Just unhinged and chaotic. [Laughs.] Besides being in the closet, your character is also trying to hide this investigation, as you said, to protect a partner. Thats a double whammy. What were your thoughts were going into this storyline? Its all just so complicated.Well, I assume most queer people go through a phase of hiding, or a phase of exploring and feeling shame, just because of the way the world is. I think pulling from my emotions from stuff that Ive gone through made it easy in a way to tap into all of those feelings. But then you put it back in the 1990s, and how much more heightened it all was.Its also hard for a closeted gay man like Sullivan whos run away from his family. Hes essentially surrounded by people who dont know who he is. I mean, Sullivan even sings at his best friends wedding, and that friend is homophobic. He almost sells his soul to the devil in terms of handing in his own partner in order for him to escape himself, and I think that guilt just torments him the whole time.I think understanding those feelings, and how heightening they were from my own personal experience, helped. There was a recent period in which mainstream queer shows and movies were all about depicting our community suffering, dying, or living in a distant past. Then came a wave of queer content where all LGBTQ+ characters were portrayed as perfect, fabulous, flawless human beings unreasonably so. Im excited to see new projects where a queer person can have layers and dimensions. Sullivans storyline, concerning his partner, is a great example. Its complicated. At a time like this, Boots does a great job at showing us as human beings to people who are being actively convinced that they should hate us.Im quite excited for people to watch the show. Many people will watch the show after following the press run-up to it. But there are also people wholl just stumble upon the show, see its set in the military, and not realize its got these storylines involved as well. Its such a fun show as well. You laugh, as well as cry, and have all the emotions. I think its great to hold up a mirror when you watch the show, too. It makes you realize that life is like a military boot camp, too you cant necessarily just go through life in your own lane, and you cant just surround yourself with a bubble of people that think the same as you. The recruits dont get to the end of boot camp by doing everything themselves. In fact, they get penalized for it.How do you see the current state of LGBTQ+ films and TV shows in mainstream media, and how our community is being represented in them?I didnt get into acting to become an activist, and its scary in a way because you want to do great things with your career, but there is this sort of thing that visibility is really important.I know that watching movies myself when I was younger, watching a movie like Call Me By Your Name really changed the way I felt about life and myself. I dont know, something just clicked, and I feel like it is important to tell all these different stories. People are quite protective over their own bubble, so people in the military might want to see certain stories, even though there are many other stories. This TV show is based on a real story, so I think theres not much out there like it, and I think that its important for a lot of people to watch it. Again, its not a super political piece, but its a great eye-opener, I think. Max Parker // brown cardigan: La Granni // wide leg trousers: COS // loafers: GH bass // socks: london sock company // grandad shirt: fursacPhotography: David Reiss (@davidreissphotography) / Stylist: Holly (@holly_macnaghten)Sullivan takes on this mentorship role with Cameron [played by Miles Heizer]. Its tough love, which I can personally appreciate, but I do think Sullivan is actually trying to help. How do you feel about those dynamics between the two of them?I mean, first of all, acting against Miles is really, really incredible. I was in his audition process because I was cast a little earlier, so I was there in his final round on Zoom reading with him. And I remember seeing him do Cameron and I remember just thinking straight away, Thats the guy! Hes so great. The initial relationship with Sullivan and Cameron [Miles Heizer] is that Sullivan really doesnt want to see anyone else go through what hes going through. I think hed rather make them want to quit. But no matter how hard he pushes Cameron, Cameron is still putting up a fight. Sullivan then sees something clicks on Cameron, and Sullivan says, You know what? If hes going to give it a go, I need to mentor him in order for him to get to the end. Its this intricate relationship that they have. The show is set just a few years before the Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy is put into effect. Overall, its a very American show its the U.S. Marine Corps, after all. How did you experience all of this history, and these institutions, being from the U.K.? Were you familiar, did you do some studying?First of all, yes! When I got the job, it was scary, because Im not from a military background myself. Im not familiar with the culture. And its a history lesson, in a sense, as well. So theres a lot of homework to be done. And then, obviously, I only learned about the Dont Ask, Dont Tell bill from doing the show. That was mind-blowing to me. I remember filming that scene, and Im asked to take my shirt off, and then obviously the tattoo is revealed, which implicates me being with Wilkinson in some sort of way. I remember filming that scene and it felt very tense and invasive. And then, after filming it, I remember leaving set and seeing some people around the TV screens to watch on the monitors.Wow, thats powerful.Yeah, they were crying because it brought them back to the era when it was illegal to be gay. It hit a nerve with them, which makes you realize, Thats why this storys important to tell. It educates people as well as being a fun and harrowing show.I love the singing moment that Sullivan has in episode 8. Youve done musicals before, so is that something youd want to pursue again? Or whats the tea?No, I was quite happy to hang up my dancing shoes and hang up singing when I went to TV and film. But, weirdly, in three projects, theyve written in for me to sing and not even asked if I can sing, just written it in! [Laughs.] So its followed me without me requesting it. Max Parker on Boots.NetflixBoots was unfortunately delayed quite a few times for various different reasons. What was your experience with that since you were cast so early in the project? We filmed the show for about three months in 2023. And then before Id even started I come in towards the end of episode one all the writers were on strike. And then the actors.Yeah, and then the actors went on strike. So we had nine months off, and then we came back. Between me getting the job, filming three episodes, and then those nine months off, I hadnt gotten a chance to do much in front of them. So when I came back for that episode four, I was a little hesitant Nervous, I guess. Its insane how many obstacles got in the way of this show getting released. It is now finally out. For people who are curious about watching the show but dont know much about it, how would you invite them to watch Boots? Its an amazing nostalgic coming-of-age story that follows a lot of different characters and storylines. You get a real sense of what its like to be in the Marine boot camps. We have an amazing cast of amazing performances And Max Parker is absolutely incredible, youve just got to watch him.I cosign on that last statement!Im very excited.Boots is now streaming on Netflix.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Robert Englund knew what was going on with gay subtext
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment just released the A Nightmare on Elm Street: 7-Film Collection in 4K the first set available where you can relive every Freddy Krueger movie in stunning ultra-high-definition. Beyond that, one uniquely queer film in the franchise is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.We are, of course, talking about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge the 1985 sequel that was hailed by The Village Voice as a great, gay movie in its original review. If youve seen the film, youll understand just why they said that. While final boy Jesse Walsh (played by Mark Patton before he came out) is never explicitly stated as being gay, the film is layered with hints that might be dealing with his own internalized homophobia. And Freddy, a dream-stalker known for taunting his victims with their innermost fears and desires, flirts with that throughout the film. In fact, theres even a moment where Jesse wanders into a queer leather bar, and another scene where he seeks the safety of his hunky best friends bedroom (Ron Grady, played by Robert Rusler). And lets not forget all those likely intentional Easter eggs such as the Probe board game clearly seen in Jesses closet or the No Chicks sign on his bedroom door.Since its release, the maligned second chapter of the Elm Street saga has gained a cult following and has been analyzed and discussed in blogs, college papers, gay publications, and horror sites for years due to its homoerotic subtext. Robert Englund, the horror icon best known as the nefarious Freddy Krueger, has embraced A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 as a queer classic in recent years, even clamoring for the film to be remade should the franchise be rebooted.Englund was also a headlining participant in 2019's Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street, a documentary that examined the life of Patton and the negative impact A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 had on his career. For those who arent aware of the story, Patton, who was not out during the films production, had a decades-long feud with A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 scribe David Chaskin, who vehemently denied the films gay subtext for years. He also blamed Patton's flamboyant performance as the sole reason for the films queer reputation. Not only does Chaskin finally confess to intentionally writing A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 as a gay panic allegory, but he and Patton finally hug it out and bury the hatchet. But throughout the documentary, Englund and some of his castmates doubled down on the fact that the films homosexual subtext was always on the page. While out promoting the A Nightmare on Elm Street: 7-Film Collection, Englund took some time to take a stroll down memory lane and chat with Out about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and all its queer glory. He also examines the sexual fluidity of Freddy Krueger, recalls how he and Patton intentionally accentuated the homoeroticism between Jesse and Freddy, and shares his ideas on how the franchise can be rebooted today. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge (1985).Warner Bros.Out: A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is often considered to be one of the weakest entries in the franchise, but I still think it has some redeeming qualities. In your opinion, how well do you think the film has aged and stood the test of time?Robert Englund: Well, I think there's terrific stuff in this Jack Sholder film. Not only the actors, but the supporting characters too. But that whole thing with that family is so great. There are such classic moments in the film. I mean, I probably signed the phrase, You are all my children now as much as Welcome to primetime, bitch! Those are, I think, the No. 1 autograph quotes that I'm asked to do. So obviously, Part 2 has really made a point among the franchise. In recent years, youve been very vocal about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 being a strong candidate for a modern-day remake if they reboot the franchise. If they start doing a reboot of the franchise, I think they can do Part 2 at any time they want. It's standalone, and the culture has moved forward enough since 1985. I think we could really address some of the subtext in that film between the boys and how Freddys manipulating them and Lisa [Kim Myers] as the confidant of Jesse [Patton]. I think there's a way to play with that and his conflicted desires. Because they hint at it, and I think it would be fun to really embrace that in a reboot because it's part of the fabric of that story and it's always been very popular. I understand that people are doing college papers and theses about A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 now. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge (1985).Warner Bros.I'm glad you touched on that because I wanted to talk about the gay subtext in the original script. I recall you always saying that it was always very apparent. Do you remember that moment when you were reading the script and you realized what was really going on in the story? And do you remember your early conversations with Mark Patton about it?It's in the script. But when I got to the set, I saw the camaraderie and some dare call it flirtation between Mark and Robert [Rusler]... you know, in that vital adolescence, or, if you want, homoeroticism, whatever you want to call it. I saw a little bit of that. And Mark Patton was so beautiful. And I'd seen him in Come to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. And he had that kind of James Dean bisexuality look, which is just sort of a generic look and he didn't work it really hard, but it's there. I guess the word would be latent. So I remember talking to Mark about how, when he and I worked together as Freddy and Jesse, that I was going to play that a little bit with him, that I was going to tease him a little bit with that. And he was all for it. We knew what was going on. Robert Rusler knew what was going on, and he was even doing an echo of Johnny Depp from Nightmare 1 with his cutoff shirt, which had also become kind of iconic. Not only did all the girls like it, but all the boys liked Johnny's belly button, too. So we were playing with that.I recall people like director Jack Sholder and actress Kim Myers saying they were kind of oblivious to the gay subtext.I think all that Jack remembers was the clock ticking when you're directing a movie and he's just worried about getting on with his day and getting it done: all the scenes, the special effects, the fire stunts, all the different locations. So he's not really worried about highlighting or accentuating any potential gay subtext that was in there. It was there. I mean, he probably knew it when he cast it and he probably knew it when he staged some of it. I don't know how anybody can talk about the bar scene in that. And Bob Shaye, who's the producer, obviously knew what was going on because he could have played any part he wanted in the movie for a cameo. And he decided to be the bondage bartender. Behind the scenes on set while filming A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge (1985)Warner Bros.Mark Patton told his story in the documentary Scream, Queen!: My Nightmare on Elm Street, which you all participated in. When you saw the finished documentary, did it change your perspective on the film, and were you surprised about how the movie actually impacted him and his career? What really impacted me about Mark's documentary was I didn't know about the tragic things he went through with his own health and his friend's health. When Mark was living down in Puerto Vallarta and he had a gallery down there, I'm regretting to this day that I just didn't go down there. [My wife] Nancy and I would have gone down there and just slept on his couch and hung out with him because it must have been so wonderful. And also just to cheer him up because I didn't know he had gone through all of that. So that was my takeaway from that.I remember, probably a year or so after the film came out, Bob Shaye shared with me that people were writing papers in college about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 as the so-called gay horror movie. And Bob loved it. He had a couple of copies. I remember reading one. And of course, when you get academic about it, it kind of takes the fun out of it. And people want to read stuff that may or may not be there in some sequences. But there's definitely a subtext in that film that's going on. We use animal references a lot of times when we act, and one of the animal things that I used as an actor was the cat with the mouse just before he kills it. I always say that Freddy is toying with the mouse. He is literally toying with the sexuality of Jesse in that film. He's playing with it. And that's how I always saw it. And that's in the script, too. What are your views on Freddys sexuality beyond A Nightmare on Elm Street 2? We know he torments his victims by getting into their psyche and toying with their fears and desires. Just to use a scene from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors as an example, Freddy had no issue shape-shifting into a nude female nurse only to end up tongue-tied with Joey. Would you say that Freddy is ultimately sexually fluid when he needs to be?I think Freddy Krueger is asexual, and I think that's probably one of the things that fosters his anger and his revenge and his original crimes. Freddys not a pedophile I never played him as a pedophile. I never understood him to be a pedophile. Freddy is a child killer. And child killer, those very words are almost a dark, punk-rock poem: Child Killer. It almost sounds like a song by Jim Morrison. You know what I mean? As someone who played with his sexuality fluidly, I think of Freddy as a punk thing. Freddy is a dark, dark poem. Freddys anger may be in that he never was able to express his sexuality, whatever it is or whatever it was, and that's why he's killing children because children are the future and Freddy hasn't figured out a future for himself. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge (1985).Warner Bros.Warner Bros.I'm really glad you clarified that because you always hear fans just casually label Freddy as a pedophile or a child killer interchangeably. They're two completely different things. In fact, in the entire series, you never hear the word molester or pedophile uttered at all. When we made the original, there was a huge scandal going on at a child care nursery down in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Famous, famous case. I think there's been documentaries made about it. And I'm forgetting the name right now. But it was so big and it was so public in Los Angeles when we were shooting it that Wes Craven made a conscious decision to just completely stay away from any hint that Freddy was a pedophile. Is there some sexuality with Freddy and Nancy, or Freddy and Alice, or Freddy and Jesse? Yeah, but it's Beauty and the Beast. Do you know what I mean? It's the Beast thing. And it's Freudian and Jungian in that way.I know you retired from the role, but given the advancements of motion capture and CGI, if there was a feasible way for you to do high-quality mocap performance, would you consider playing the part again?I think if they're going to reboot the franchise, they are going to need another actor. Because you've got to go the distance. I would love to voice an animated series if they got the right animation team. I think that would be very interesting. And I think that would work because I've seen such great graphic novels and comic books and illustrative work over the years. Reimagining Freddy would be fun to do, and I could do that. I would like to be invited back if they do Part 3. I would love to do a cameo as one of the doctors, perhaps. That would be fun. But I think they really do need to get a new actor. I don't think Freddy should be CGI or motion capture. I think there's so many great effects you can do. There's so many enhancements that I'm all for. With CGI and stuff, if you had to have Freddy melt or something like that. But there's so many great ways to do that. But I still think you need an actor. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddys Revenge (1985).Warner Bros.I love your idea about a cameo. If they reboot the franchise, I think starting with Dream Warriors is the way to go. You can do Part 2 as a standalone. And then from there, you can do Four or Five, which is Alice's story. With Freddy's Dead, I think you can do a whole new version with all the surviving characters coming back and teaming up to take down Freddy.Well, if you're going to reboot Part 6, I think it has to be about today's culture, messing around with cellphones and things like that. But I think I would start with Dream Warriors, because it has that great previously on A Nightmare on Elm Street thing. Then you go into the story of Alice. Then I would go back and reboot Part 2 as a standalone and really do it modern and really deal with the culture today.A Nightmare on Elm Street 7-Film Collection is now available in 4K UHD for purchase on digital retailers.

Go Ask Alex: I hired a gay escort and fell in love. What do I do?
Hi Alexander,I met up with a gay escort for the first time. He was handsome, super-nice, friendly, attentiveall that I could ask for. I had never bottomed before, but he took control and helped me relax enough that I got fucked for the first time in my life, and it was amazing. And now I cant stop thinking about him. When I was younger, I fell quickly for guys, probably because I didnt think I was likable. I wish I could view him from a sexual standpoint only, but man, he is so nice that I fantasize about being in a relationship with him. What do I do?James Hi James,I can't speak to your provider's personal feelings, but as a former sex worker myself who was in this situation many times with clients, Ill say this: I sympathize with your plight, but this is his job. And thats all it is. He did a good job. He gave you a safe, sweet first-time bottoming experience helped you relax into what is unavoidably an awkward and uncomfortable experience, then made you feel amazing. Thats big! I still feel grateful to the first guy who properly fucked me. He was someone I would never date, then or now, but I hold gratitude in my heart for the memory of him. You will probably always carry a little flame of thanks for the man you hired to fuck you for the first time. You feel deeply connected to him right now because first-time bottoming is an intense experience, and humans tend to latch on to those they share intense experiences with. But you paid him to do this it was a service rendered, and he did a good job. That doesnt make it any less beautiful or meaningful. I had lovely, powerful experiences with many of my clients. The only way you can (easily) ruin future experiences with him is to imagine hes a candidate for anything other than sex work. You have a crush that probably wont be reciprocated, and if you say anything about it, it will put him in an awkward position one that sex workers find themselves in often and he might not be willing to meet again. People pay for many services. We pay dentists for dental care, therapists for therapy, and mechanics to fix our cars. Some people pay sex workers for sex, or for the impression of intimacy, or for personalized sex coaching, or for companionship, or for porn, and so on. Good in-person escorts supply tailor-made, bespoke experiences often risking both personal safety and the law in exchange for handsome hourly fees. Thats the job. Escorts are working professionals, just like dentists, therapists, and mechanics, but their trade is sex.If you tell him about your crush, you will likely be disappointed. He's probably had several clients fall for him this way, and I imagine he has go-to lines to let folks down easily (I did). Letting someone down gently is part of the job, one that none of us enjoy because it's uncomfortable and, worse, it risks losing that person's business. Some escorts feign interest and will give you just enough hope to keep you buying and, admittedly, some clients are looking for this. The "boyfriend experience" is, after all, just the consensual role-play of romantic interest, for a fee. If you want that if youd like to take him on dates and outings while paying his hourly rate that's a business proposition worth talking to him about. But I wouldn't tell him about your actual crush, as its likely to make things uncomfortable. I had a hard rule in my business: No matter how much chemistry I had with a client, I would never, ever date them in real life because they were a client. (For those in the business: I strongly discourage trying romantic relationships with those who come into your life as clients.) If I had his ear, I would strongly dissuade him from having a relationship with you. These relationships happen all the time and too easily lead to financial exploitation and harm. There are fundamental differences in power in these relationships that just cant be overcome. They get toxic too easily. Your best course of action would be to continue enjoying his work and let that be enough. If you can't do that if your feelings are too strong and you fear rejection you should stop hiring him and hire someone else.Hey there! Im Alexander Cheves. Im a sex writer and former sex workerI worked in the business for over 12 years. You can read my sex-and-culture column Last Call in Out and my book My Love Is a Beast: Confessions, from Unbound Edition Press. Explore Sedgwick Guth's embroidered, mythic, queer art
On October 3, Scott Roberts Projects will present its inaugural exhibition, Someday I May Know You Very Well by Sedgwick Guth, at Artbug gallery in the Arts District. This marks Guths Los Angeles debut, featuring 12 mixed media paintings that draw from his Pennsylvania Dutch heritage while exploring themes of mythology, queer identity, intimacy, and reinvention. What makes Guths work particularly compelling is the way he weaves traditional craft like taufscheine frakturs and mourning embroideries into contemporary symbolism and storytelling. The result is a series of mystical, embroidered portraits that invite viewers to reflect on love, family, and the shared human journey of navigating tradition alongside modernity.Sedgwick Guth's Someday I May Know You Very Well runs through October 30 at Artbug in Los Angeles. Learn more at artbug.net, and see a preview ahead.21st century boxers (satellites posing as stars in our story)A statement from the artist, Sedwick Guth:"Most of my recent work has evolved from my place as a queer artist existing in this current realm of technology and social media, a land with no rule book Im an observer, standing from outside looking in, yet also participating in some of the modern rituals of said spaces, my work often attempting to somehow understand my place amongst all this information, particularly as both a gay man and a queer artist."lost in the stars"The use of figures in settings of intimacy is a common visual theme I often depict. I have been exploring the reinterpretation of many of the motifs, symbols, and techniques of my dominant cultural and ethnic background [Pennsylvania Dutch], applying the heteronormative and Protestant symbolism to queer existence and relationships. Im including these queer men (cis, trans, nonbinary) alongside imagery and customs which had not been constructed to include them."Apollo in the good guest bedroom (Shag carpet and a dutchy dresser in Philadelphia)"The inclusion of embroidery and sewing into my work reflects a nod to familial Pennsylvania Dutch craft and tradition such as taufscheine frakturs (often birth announcements), and mourning embroideries from the early 19th century creating my own personal folklore which ties into my love of constellations, astrology, and Greek mythology, as well as processing and questioning my own navigation of a 21st-century world of technological pressures (social expectations, romantic and platonic love, body issues, sexual capital, spiritualism, definition of family, etc.) The intent is that of a work saturated in color and the empowerment of vulnerability."how do i become a mystery again"My goal with these works was to depict the subjects in gentle and mystical environments safe spaces for them to exist and to be beautiful in their own right. These works incorporate my own personal narrative, as well as the perceived narratives that exist to each person who view and interact with the piece. The potential story of the everyman per se, a possible Shakespearean notion that can apply to now, as 'we know each other but have never met.'"changing for you (i didn't mean to, but i did)an invitationsomehow i felt it was possible, even though they're gone (handstand)
