Who is Lilah Gibney and why are her fellow queer creators exposing her?
If you've been on TikTok recently, you may have noticed a pattern of popular queer creators calling out a woman named Lilah Gibney. Back in 2019, Gibney garnered public support when she called out Jake Paul's content collective Team 10 for transphobia and accused a video editor named Blane ORoark of saying that she and her fellow trans creator Kendall Raindrop were not "real girls." The accusations came in the form of a well-received YouTube video Gibney posted shortly after the incident. But recently, it seems like the tide has been turning against the trans creator, apparently after years of unpleasant interactions and some shocking moments that are coming to light in videos her former friends are making about her. - YouTube www.youtube.com One of the first videos to open up the floodgates was from a former Team 10 member, Cole Carrigan, an openly queer makeup artist who denounced Paul's group and left shortly after the controversy involving Gibney. Although Carrigan left the collective because of a separate issue, the two creators openly supported each other at the time.In the video which has over 5.8 million views after being posted for less than a week Carrigan addresses why his and Gibney's relationship has soured. Appearing under overlayed text that reads "Surviving Lilah Gibney storytime," he says he's just gotten back from a weekend in Los Angeles with Gibney, whom he calls the most "psychotic, robotic, out-of-touch-of-reality, wannabe celebrity, micro-influencer." For context, he adds that the two of them used to live together and were close friends before he eventually moved out of the city, got in an abusive relationship, and became addicted to drugs.Carrigan then explains that he flew to L.A. to attend a Tate McRae concert, and Gibney offered for him to stay with her, but the entire stay was filled with clout-chasing activities, pee-soaked restaurant booths (and concert seats), and accusations of theft. @carrigancole it just gets worse and worse Im sorry but you cannot treat ppl this way and except it to be slid under the rug. disgusted that people like this even exist, anyways thank you guys for having my back moving on now love u #fyp #storytime Carrigan says that he and Gibney went out to dinner the night before the show, and she had hired a paparazzi photographer to take photos of her. After about an hour of posing for photos and having him wait at the table alone, Gibney berated Carrigan for his poor attitude and then proceeded to get up throughout the meal to post TikToks from the bathroom. "Meanwhile, she literally peed in the catch booth like three or four times, and at the concert in her seat, and in multiple Ubers," he says in the video, before accusing Gibney of getting so drunk that she ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant and had to be dragged into a car unconscious. He also says that when he went to Gibney's closet to borrow a pair of shoes for the dinner, he found two pairs of Dior Converse sneakers and some Fendi sunglasses that he thought he had lost sharing a clip of him with the recovered items. As the video winds down, the TikToker describes going to the concert the next day, mentioning again that Gibney peed in her seat and then describing how she spent the evening boasting about being well connected. Carrigan shares more unflattering details from the weekend, including that Gibney accused him of stealing her drugs, and then ends by saying that he tried to give an old friend the benefit of the doubt after five years apart but knew it wouldn't end well. @kendallraindrop I know I say um a lot but this video but I had so much anxiety to edit or even post. I want everyone to heal and wish them the best and to find the same peace I have Another one of Gibney's former friends who was around during the Team 10 drama, Kendall Raindrop, uploaded a TikTok video on Sunday, sharing why she's no longer friends with the influencer. "I've been going back and forth about making this video," Raindrop says in her video. "Lilah Gibney just really needs help."In the video, Raindrop says that she and Gibney became friends back in 2019 after meeting at an influencer party and grew closer over time. She then goes on to talk about two negative experiences she had with Gibney, saying that she was terrorized by the influencer's erractic mood swings and mean girl behavior. "At the end of the day, what I want Lilah and y'all to get from this video is that Lilah is a damaged person, damaging other people, and she needs to get be healed and grow up," Raindrop says in the video. "I've separated myself from partying and drugs, going out and being crazy, because that is not fulfilling. People do make mistakes and do bad things when they're intoxicated, but it's not cute or cool and it just needs to stop." @popcultureporn someone asked me to post this and so hey this is insane! i guess the shes always peeing and shitting somewhere comments werent exaggerating #tanamongeau #lilahgibney #funny #clip #fyp As Gibney has become the subject of conversation on TikTok, other users have started sharing videos detailing their experiences with her or their opinions on the situation, as well as clips of people talking about her or catching her doing something inappropriate. A few of the most popular videos involve or come courtesy of Tana Mongeau, including one that seems to show Gibney pooping on the side of the road after saying she needs to use the bathroom. There is a clip from Mongeau's now-finished podcast Cancelled, which she used to cohost with friend Brooke Schofield, where the influencer Trevi Moran is invited to talk about her experiences with Gibney. And in another clip that went viral, racking up over 130,000 views, Mongeau talks about how on a plane to Hawaii, Gibney called the flight attendants transphobic for accusing her of smoking a marijuana vape in the bathroom, despite admitting to it once they were in the clear. @popcultureporn i think ms. gibney is a bit delulu #tanamongeau #brookeschofield #lilahgibney #cancelledpodcast #fyp Throughout all of this, Gibney seems determined to act like nothing is going on, continuing to post on her social media as usual. On Sunday, the creator put up a haul video, showing off what she bought from T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Although, many viewers responded with comments like "How are you posting like normal?" and "How about accountability?"Gibney has yet to address the scandal taking over the internet.
