Gay makeup artist Andry Hernndez Romero describes horrific sexual & physical abuse at CECOT in El Salvador
After 125 days in silence, detained inside an El Salvador concrete fortress built to disappear people, Andry Hernndez Romero is finally home in Venezuela, alleging he was tortured, sexually abused, and denied food while detained under a Trump administration deportation order that erased him from society. It was an encounter with torture and death, Hernndez, 32, told journalists at his family home in Capacho on Wednesday, describing how he and others were beaten, shot with rubber projectiles, and confined in dark cells, before they were suddenly freed on Friday. Many of our fellows have wounds from the nightsticks; they have fractured ribs, fractured fingers and toes, marks from the handcuffs, he said, according to Reuters. Others have marks on their chests, on their face ... from the projectiles.Related: Gay asylum seeker Andry Hernndez Romero remains in danger, advocates warnHernndez was one of more than 250 Venezuelan men expelled under the revived Alien Enemies Act, a wartime-era law that President Donald Trump used to deport people without hearings or asylum screenings. Though he entered the United States legally at the San Diego border, appeared for an appointment the U.S. government gave him, and passed an initial credible fear interview, federal agents cited his tattooscrowns reading mom and dadas alleged proof of membership in the Tren de Aragua gang, something his lawyers continue to deny. He had no criminal record. The Venezuelan attorney general has said his office will investigate Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele over the reported torture of Venezuelan nationals, Reuters reports. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security dismissed the abuse claims Tuesday, calling the deported men criminal, illegal gang members, Reuters reports.Related: Gay asylum-seekers lawyer worries for the makeup artists safety in Salvadoran hellhole prisonSpeaking to San Diego ABC affiliate KGTV, Melissa Shepherd, an attorney with the Immigrant Defenders Law Center, said, While were happy that hes no longer in the torture prison, we are worried for his future. Shepherd, who represents Hernndez and other deported men, added, They were physically, verbally, and psychologically tortured.Lindsay Toczylowski, ImmDefs cofounder and CEO, told our sister site The Advocate in a separate interview Monday that Hernndezs case illustrated a really dark foreshadowing of where were going as a country if this is allowed to stand. These are people who were sent with no due process to be tortured, only to then be used as political pawns in a prisoner release that none of us were privy to before it happened, that none of them consented to being a part of, she said.Related: Kristi Noem wont say if gay asylum-seeker deported to El Salvadors hellhole prison is still aliveToczylowski said Hernndez remains in danger in Venezuela, the very country from which he fled persecution. Her team is exploring third-country relocation, but options may be limited by his lack of freedom of movement under the regime of Nicols Maduro.Still, Hernndez said he was moved to learn that people had rallied in support of him during his terrible ordeal. It fills me with so much peace, so much comfort, so much tranquility that I was never alone, from day one, he told Reuters. There were many people who worried for me.

Here's why Matt Bernstein and Vivian Wilson stand against Jubilee channel
Matt Bernstein is calling for YouTube to demonetize Jubilee's official channel on the platform a stance that escalated after the popular queer influencer uploaded a new Instagram (@mattxiv) infographic yesterday and accused the debate-driven YouTube channel of "amplifying extremism and hatred under the guise of 'debate.'"Sign up for the Out Newsletter to keep up with what's new in LGBTQ+ culture and entertainment delivered three times a week straight (well) to your inbox! On the same Instagram carousel, Bernstein also included further details and allegations about the channel "making millions of dollars at the expense of marginalized people." Bernstein subsequently linked to a petition on his Instagram bio that has reached more than 50,000 signatures in its first 24 hours of being active. See on Instagram The total audience reached by Jubilee consists of 10.2 million subscribers on YouTube, 3.1 million followers on TikTok, and 439,000 followers on Instagram.Best recognized as a YouTube channel, Jubilee is known for its variety of debate-style videos featuring people discussing their varying views on several topics. The flagship video series on the channel, titled "Middle Ground," often showcases two groups of people going back and forth to debate, with videos like "Anorexia vs. Obese," as well as "Can You Stop Being Gay?" accumulating millions of views over time. Jubilee's recent videos shared under the channel's "Surrounded" series have come under the most scrutiny as of late. In these videos, one person at the center is featured debating a group of people. Conservative talking heads like Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, and Ben Shapiro are often featured as those central figures in the "Surrounded" videos.Mehdi Hasan was featured in a video uploaded earlier this week that has gained over 6.7 million views in four days. One of the participants in the Jubilee video identified himself as a "fascist" and discussed how he "doesn't care about being called a Nazi."This participant was reportedly fired from his job and has since started a crowdfunding campaign on a Christian fundraising platform for emergency funds while he searches for a new job. Bernstein writes in the Change.org post (in which the queer influencer is credited as "petition starter"):"Though the channel started with noble intentions to bring folks with different perspectives together for good-faith debate its content has devolved into a sort of rage-bait political porn, generating millions of dollars by making people as angry, offended, and divided as possible."Bernstein notes that YouTubers make money through an AdSense program that splits earnings between YouTube and its creators. Therefore, the more engagement a video receives, the more money it will likely generate, hence why Jubilee has been so successful over time.Bernstein, who's been a vocal opponent of the YouTube channel for a while, replied to an X post from earlier this week asking, "Mad they haven't invited you?" (@) Bernstein responded with a screenshot showing an alleged Jubilee casting associate inviting him to participate in a "Middle Ground" video. Beyond Bernstein, however, there is now a growing number of content creators who disclosed that they've declined an invitation to participate in a video hosted by Jubilee.Namely, Elon Musk's estranged trans daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson shared an Instagram story on Wednesday disclosing that she has turned down an invitation to appear in a Jubilee video as well. "Not to be like super messy, but there's a reason I turned on Jubilee," she said in an Instagram video. "They wanted me to be on one of their f**king videos, and I was like, 'Let me think about it. Let me circle back. Let me double-check. No!'"This overall discourse also contains claims about platforms like YouTube not challenging the monetization status of channels like Jubilee. "This petition represents every person who's been hurt by the bigoted, violent ideologies regularly laundered on Jubilee through the dishonest framing of 'debate,'" Bernstein writes at the end of the petition. "Our goal is to make such a content mill financially untenable. In a civil society, it should be."

Jack Schlossberg slams Ryan Murphy for new show based on the Kennedys
Jack Schlossberg is expressing his disapproval of Ryan Murphy's most recently announced project, which centers on the death of his uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., and Carolyn Bessette. When the project was first announced, Schlossberg called the new show "grotesque" and stated that the Kennedy family was neither consulted nor involved in the show.In a post uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday, he responded to comments made by Murphy during an appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom's podcast, where Murphy had minimized Schlossberg's memories of his late uncle, saying, "I thought it was an odd choice to be mad about your relative that you really dont remember." I remember being the ring bearer at his wedding and the day he died, the caption reads. "I remember Wyclef singing at his funeral. George Santos has to report to prison tomorrow hes not taking it well
Former U.S. Rep. George Santos has until 2 p.m. Friday to report to federal custody to begin serving more than seven years in prison for wire fraud, identity theft, money laundering, and theft of public funds. But instead of expressing contrition or withdrawing from public view, the disgraced fabulist gay New York Republican has spent the week descending into a digital rampage, accusing prosecutors of conspiracy, threatening federal officials and journalists, and invoking far-right grievances against former President Barack Obama and the justice system, while praising President Donald Trump. (@) Good morning! I woke up extra excited that my president is putting a bulldozer through the swamp and it is glorious! Santos posted on Sunday. Today is a beautiful day to Seize the passports and freeze the accounts of Barack Obama! I know in my bones that he will be held accountable table for tearing the country apart with the Russian hoax!Related: Who is George Santos, the lying gay former Republican congressman being sentenced to prison? (@) Minutes later, he added: T-6 days! Good morning world! God bless you all.On Monday, he wrote: Its an understatement to say that I have started to dissociate.Related: Disgraced Republican George Santos asks judge to ignore his posts while considering his prison sentenceThe public unraveling comes after Santos pleaded guilty to 23 federal felony counts. This spring, he begged U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert to disregard his inflammatory social media presence while considering his sentence. In an April letter to the court, Santos claimed to be remorseful and asserted that true remorse isnt mute, arguing that his online posts, some of which called the Justice Department a cabal of pedophiles, were expressions of protected speech, not evidence of defiance. (@) Federal prosecutors disagreed. In their sentencing memo, they argued Santos had reverted to form and showed a strong risk of recidivism and a lack of remorse. Citing his repeated public denials and attempts to reframe himself as a victim, prosecutors called for 87 months in prison, a sentence the judge ultimately granted.Related: George Santos begs Trump for pardon after judge handed down 7-year sentenceOn Tuesday, Santos turned his ire toward those involved in his prosecution, particularly Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris, FBI Special Agent Kenneth Hosey, and his former campaign treasurer, Nancy Marks.I want the world to know this! he wrote. Assistant United State attorney Ryan Harris along with all the prosecutors in my case and the FBI agents lead by special agent Kenneth Hosey all knowingly participated in an conspiracy to mislead the Judge in my case Joanna Seybert of the Easter district of New York. (@) Santos alleged that they pinned me as a ring leader and organizer of the actions that took place in my campaign, despite, he claimed, knowing that the leader and organizer was my treasurer Nancy MarksMarks pleaded guilty in October 2023 to conspiring to defraud the U.S. government and directly implicated Santos in court. She admitted to falsifying campaign finance reports to make it appear Santos had personally loaned his campaign $500,000 when he had not. She also submitted a fake list of campaign donors to the Federal Election Commission and acknowledged using real names without permission. At the time, her attorney said Santos had mentally seduced her and suggested she might testify against him. (@) Despite that record, Santos this week sought to reframe Marks as the architect of wrongdoing and himself as the fall guy. In the same post, he accused her of laundering funds from John Cummingss 2020 congressional campaign against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and criticized DOJ officials for not prosecuting her, Cummings, or Republican strategist Chapin Fay.I guess only George Santos is interesting since I flipped a seat in NYC! he wrote. (@) Later Tuesday, Santos rejected repeated calls to express remorse. Im [tired] of hearing people say: You arent remorseful, you need to show remorse. Or This to shall pass. Sorry but neither of those statements are true. (@) By Wednesday, Santos had escalated his rhetoric into outright menace. Im not trying to tweet my way out of prison folks But I sure as shit will wreak havoc with the truth before then. The next 48hrs Ill be leaving a bunch out on the field and dont give a rats ass about it. Im confident Ill be buying in prison granted my situation so I dont want to die and let all this die with me. (@) A direct threat followed that: Reporters trying to find out the location Im surrendering to beware of this there will be an investigation and whoever your source is in the BOP or Marshals office they will be buried alongside you. That is a promise. He also issued a warning about political retribution. If President Trumps and Congress dont focus on fixing the justice system when democrats take control of government they will put everyone they oppose in prison. (@) And when FBI Houston posted about the sentencing of a 23-year-old woman who stole $8.6 million in unemployment funds and received 18 months, Santos erupted:And I get 7 fucking years! Tell me this is not an upside down political justice system! I hope the prosecutors, FBI agents and the Judge in my case pay for this their actions are a clear abuse of their power. Justice might be blind and slow but I believe everyone will get exposed eventually! (@) Santos was expelled from the House in December 2024 following a bipartisan vote and a damning House Ethics Committee report, which found that he blatantly stole from his campaign. His conviction in May 2024 followed federal charges first filed a year earlier, including seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, and two counts of making false statements to Congress. (@) As of Thursday evening, the Bureau of Prisons had not publicly disclosed the location where Santos is expected to serve his sentence (@)

Grande observed. "C'mon, dimples! C'mon, lips!" Erivo added. As Groove introduced herself to the Wicked costars, the actresses kept sharing even more compliments."You look so good," Erivo remarked. "The nails!"Since conducting that interview in November 2024, Groove has officially joined the Wicked universe and also made some LGBTQ+ history along the way.Gloria Groove's casting as Madame Morrible is a huge milestone for LGBTQ+ representation in the Wicked universe. While interviewing Erivo and Grande about the Wicked movie, these actresses didn't hold back from stanning over Groove's in-drag aesthetic in head-to-toe Wicked core."You look incredible Werk!" Grande observed. "C'mon, dimples! C'mon, lips!" Erivo added. As Groove introduced herself to the Wicked pair, the actresses went on to share even more compliments.Drag queen or otherwise, Gloria Groove has a massive online presence both in and out of drag.Groove's historic run as Madame Morrible in the Brazilian stage production of Wicked is set to take place between late August and early September at Teatro Renault in So Paulo, Brazil. But how did she get here, one may ask? Well, that journey is as fierce and magical and awe-inspiring as the Stephen Schwartz musical itself.Groove is far from being a one-hit wonder, or a social media artist who went viral a few times, or even a celebrity who'd be considered "gay famous" in the U.S. In a similar way as Out100 honoree Pabllo Vittar, Groove is a bona fide pop star with a dedicated audience that spans all ages, sexual orientations, and other demographics allowing her to compete for the same radio plays, high-profile music awards, tour dates, festival gigs, and music-chart rankings as all other mainstream singers in Brazil.Spoiler alert: Groove's numbers are pretty mind-blowing, particularly when compared to other drag artists in the U.S. and around the world.Groove's in the charts.See on InstagramGloria Groove's current audience of 5.5 million followers on Instagram is much bigger than any competitor in the entire RuPaul's Drag Race franchise. To be clear: The two most-followed Drag Race queens on the social network are at least one million followers behind Groove with Plastique Tiara at 4.5 million and Trixie Mattel at 4.3 million as of this writing. In April 2022, Groove surpassed RuPaul's Instagram following and kickstarted an era in which the Brazilian queen had more followers on the social network than the Drag Race mogul and all-time Emmy Award record breaker and that period lasted quite a few years. It wasn't until recently that Mama Ru surpassed Groove's following to regain her spot in this global social media ranking of drag icons. As of this writing, RuPaul has 5.8 million followers on Instagram. At this point in time, RuPaul has 300,000 more followers overall than Groove.Groove also has 4.7 million followers on TikTok as of this writing.Speaking purely as a musician, Gloria Groove has maintained an average of 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify for many years. Groove has also accumulated 4.09 million subscribers on YouTube with an output that is totally centered on releasing new songs, music videos, visualizers, live performance clips, and related content.Since launching her career as a drag queen musician in 2016, Groove's catalog of hit songs has spanned over the years with tracks like 2018's "Bumbum de Ouro" (162 million views on YouTube; 72.4 million streams on Spotify), 2022's "Vermelho" (114.5 million views on YouTube; 162 million streams on Spotify), and 2024's "Nosso Primeiro Beijo" (128 million views on YouTube; 148.7 million streams on Spotify).Gloria Groove graced the cover of Vogue and made drag history on the fashion publication.See on InstagramGloria Groove and Pabllo Vittar graced the print cover of Vogue Brasil in October 2020, becoming the first-ever drag queens to appear as cover stars of the prestigious fashion publication in any of its international editions around the world."I'm living a dream," Groove said in her Vogue Brasil cover story. "I'm still emotional about the invitation, as being here [is about] positioning drag queens as fashion icons."Between describing Pabllo as both "the most popular drag queen on the planet" and a "factory of hit songs," Pabllo's Vogue Brasil cover story also featured a bold statement from the drag pop star: "[When] I want it, I'm able to do it, and I can do it. I always knew I would get where I am."Beyond having Groove and Vittar as the cover stars for that print issue of Vogue Brasil, two more queens Halessia and Bianca DellaFancy joined that herstoric moment as digital cover stars of the same October 2020 publication. In their respective digital cover interviews, Halessia described drag as a "wonderful and liberating art form," while Bianca defined herself as a "very sassy Black [f-word]."As outlined by Andrew Nguyen on The Cut, these covers featuring Groove and Vittar came out during a particularly sensitive moment in Brazil when "LGBTQ+ issues remain divisive in the nation, especially for trans people" who were still under the administration of "Brazil's right-wing president, Jair Bolsonaro."Bolsonaro was a pretty brutal adversary for the LGBTQ+ community during his time as president. However, since being defeated in his reelection run in 2022 (via The Advocate), Bolsonaro has also been barred from running for office until 2030 (via NBC News), charged with attempting a coup (via The New York Times), and threatened to get arrested by the Brazilian Supreme Court in July 2025 (via BBC News).Even more recently, Gloria Groove was featured on the cover of Billboard Brasil.See on InstagramAs the latest cover star of Billboard Brasil, Gloria Groove reflected on turning 30 this year and facing this new moment in her life, which involved "therapy" and the "rethinking of priorities" both on and off the stage. Specifically, the cover story centered on Groove reconciling with "multihyphenate artist who takes the stage" and also "the man of the house who must take care of his mother, husband, pets, and himself."Groove explained, "The 'diva' supports the 'man of the house' because she remembers that [between] so many responsibilities and serious things, [he] wants to have his own turn at the spotlight, to be playful, and to live [his own] world a little."She's also familiar with topics explored in the Wicked saga, as referenced in 'A Queda.'Groove shook the drag world to its core once again with the release of "A Queda."The title of this track a huge hit for Groove that's accumulated 271 million views on YouTube so far translates in "The Fall" in English.Released in October 2021, this song and music video satirize how the public treats artists and celebrities. Standout lyrics in "A Queda" include:"We're gonna build a circus / A dramatic thriller / And walk this tightrope, I will."Dressed as a clown, Groove challenged the general public to join the circus:"So come and join to see how many times I stumble / And how many friends I lose / I'm not even charging anything, come see it for free / They're throwing an open-bar party to celebrate my demise."The chorus of "A Queda" goes:"Extra! Extra! Don't miss out on this offer! / Secure your tickets to watch me eat shit / Extra! Extra! The show's about to start / Even better than watching the climb up is a chance to witness the fall."'Leilo,' another hit song from Gloria Groove, highlights how celebrities are often treated as products.Years before Shakira's sickening lyrics, "Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan" ("Women dont cry anymore; they just profit"), Groove released "Leilo."This fantastic song and mind-blowing music video highlights topics such as "selling-out," the cost of running one's life for monetization purposes, and the value/worth of a human being.Bonus points for this accidental foreshadowing!Groove served purple outfit, white hair realness in the "Leilo" music video dropped in October 2021. It's safe to assume that Groove, like everyone else, didn't know yet that this would be the look for Michelle Yeoh's performance of Madame Morrible in the 2024 live-action blockbuster Wicked. This purple aesthetic for Morrible was not pulled from the original Broadway version of the character it was a specific and notable change from 2024's Wicked film.In hindsight, this parallel is very sweet and heartwarming. There was no way for anyone to make this guess, but here we are, and it's lovely to see it.Watch Gloria Groove's full interview with the 'Wicked' cast and crew (in Portuguese).Gloria Groove's interview with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande which included scenes of Groove chatting with Wicked director Jon M. Chu and Oscar-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell was filmed in Los Angeles ahead of the first Wicked movie. The interview subsequently aired on Brazil's No. 1 newsmagazine on television for more than 50 years, Fantstico, on TV Globo and the network's streaming service Globoplay.Wicked: For Good opens November 21 in theaters. The first Wicked movie is now streaming on Peacock. The history-making casting announcement of Gloria Groove playing Madame Morrible in the Brazilian stage production of Wicked has been reported by all major pop culture news outlets in the country (via POPline). Here's what Trixie Mattel would tell Donald Trump if she ever met him
Trixie Mattel found herself sitting in a chicken shop across from Amelia Dimoldenberg for the popular YouTube show, Chicken Shop Date. During the interview, Dimoldenberg asked Trixie how she liked living in America, to which Trixie responded with an exasperated, "Girl!" and put her hand up. "A conquering nation that is determined to conquer itself, it's horrible," she said. Dimoldenberg asked Trixie if she had ever met Trump and, if she did, what she would say to him."I would put all five of these nails [on the table and look at him deadpan] and I would go, 'Really?'" Trixie continued, "I get it, I have back-combed bleached blonde hair and too much bronzer on as well. Like, I see her in that way, but it's just like, 'Really?'"In her hilarious appearance, she goes on to talk about her friendship with Katya Zamolodchikova, saying, "Katya and I are close work friends but you know we don't speak until we walk on stage. I never hear from her." This shocked Dimoldenberg who couldn't believe this, but Trixie goes on to confirm and says, "I will send her a TikTok a day and she won't even send a laugh emoji," to which Dimoldenberg says, "Well then maybe they're not very funny."The episode is a fun watch because Dimoldenberg seems to break character at points and seems like she has to remind herself that she's the host of the show. The fans are clocking this as well, pointing it out in the comments. "Amelia actually seems so starstruck here, she doesnt seem as deadpan," one person said. "This is the most friendly i've seen Amelia been with a guest. Almost like she was smiling the whole time," another comment reads.

George Santos, the gay expelled Republican lawmaker and convicted felon, whose brief congressional career became a spectacle of deception and fraud, surrendered to federal authorities Friday to begin serving a more than 7-year prison sentence. The former New York congressman, whose 37th birthday was on Tuesday, reported to the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton in Fairton, New Jersey, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed on Friday, NBC News reports. His surrender followed months of increasingly erratic social media posts and failed comeback attempts. Im not trying to tweet my way out of prison folks But I sure as shit will wreak havoc with the truth before then, he posted Wednesday.Related: George Santos has to report to prison tomorrow hes not taking it wellFollowing his surrender Friday, gay California Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee and the first lawmaker to formally demand Santoss expulsion from the U.S. House of Representatives, called Santoss situation very sad."As obviously someone that had called for his expulsion and was very involved in his case, I dont wish any ill will on him, Garcia told The Advocate in an interview. I think hes going to face and do his time, and thats important for justice, and he lied and committed some horrible crimes, and hes got to be held accountable for those. At the same time, I hope that he can reflect and when he gets out of his sentence that he can come to amends and be a better person.Santos pleaded guilty in May 2024 to 23 felony counts, including wire fraud, identity theft, and falsifying records. He was sentenced to 87 months of confinement.Federal prosecutors detailed how he used donor funds for personal luxuries, including Ferragamo shoes, Botox, and OnlyFans subscriptions, purchases he flaunted even while under indictment. Im surrendering in Ferragamo so I can walk out in Ferragamo, he told listeners during a final audio broadcast Thursday night, as he described his preparations for incarceration. His rise and fall became a media obsession, drawing comparisons to Anna Delvey, the Instagram influencer who posed as an heiress and conned major Manhattan real estate players, and Elizabeth Holmes, the tech CEO who misled investors and patients about the technical capabilities of a futuristic blood test. He joins these two prolific fraudsters who gained international attention for their recent deceptions. Santoss arc was documented in Mark Chiusanos 2023 biography The Fabulist: The Lying, Hustling, Grifting, Stealing, and Very American Legend of George Santos, which traced Santoss long history of reinvention, including a stint as drag queen Kitara Rivache, from Queens to Brazil to Capitol Hill. In an interview with The Advocate, Chiusano said, He believes his own lies, adding that Santoss identity was rooted in performance: political, personal, and literal.Related: Who is George Santos, the lying gay former Republican congressman being sentenced to prison?Santoss political career ended in disgrace after the House Ethics Committee found overwhelming evidence of misconduct. Expelled in December 2023, the sixth member of Congress ever to be removed, he remained defiant. (@) Well, darlings, the dramatic cameleon wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday evening. The curtain falls, the spotlight dims, and the rhinestones are packed... To my supporters: You made this wild political cabaret worth it. To my critics: Thanks for the free press. I may be leaving the stage (for now), but trust me, legends never truly exit. Forever fabulously yours, George.

What is 'pocketing' & are LGBTQ+ daters more likely to be victims? Relationship experts weigh in
Telling your friends about the new person youre dating, introducing them to your family (found or biological), and going Instagram official are huge milestones in modern dating. But what if you start noticing that your new paramour isnt introducing you to anyone in their life, keeping you completely separate from their friend group, and refuses to post about you? That is the newest toxic dating trend: pocketing.Dating in 2025 is complicated. People are getting more and more fed up with dating app culture, situationships and hookups are the norm which can be fun unless youre looking for something long-term and toxic dating trends like ghosting, floodlighting, love bombing, and banksying have become a dating epidemic. Pocketing can be equally toxic as these other cruel trends, but it can also be done for legitimate reasons within the LGBTQ+ community, making things even more complicated than they were before. But what exactly is pocketing, why would someone do it, how are queer people impacted, and what should you do if it happens to you? We reached out to sex and dating experts to break it all down. So, what exactly is pocketing?'So, youve been out dancing, watched a Real Housewives marathon together, are having epic sex, and have stayed up all night talking. Everything is going perfectly, except for one thing: They haven't introduced you to anyone in their life. This is pocketing. Pocketing is a new dating term to describe when one partner avoids introducing the other to their friends, family, or co-workers. It can cause many difficult feelings and that you're being hidden. Add our queerness to that and the layers become more complicated, Anne-Marie Zanzal, M.Div., who teaches an online course called "Maybe I Am Not Straight" to help people find clarity and understanding in their coming out journey, tells PRIDE.Is pocketing common in LGBTQ+ relationships? While someone in a straight relationship might wall their partner off from the rest of their life, pocketing is more common in LGBTQ+ relationships.Maybe your partner isnt out to their family yet. Maybe theyre afraid of rejectionor even real harmif they reveal theyre in a queer relationship. So instead of including you in their world, they keep things quiet, Zanzal explains, saying this can be painful even if they are only doing it because of "fear or safety.Anthony Canapi, an LGBTQ+ dating expert and the founder and CEO of Best Man Matchmaking, says that some queer people pocket a new partner because although its 2025, the world hasnt changed that much. We sadly live in a world where people do view LGBTQ+ people and the community as inferior. Because of this, a person who has invited those close to them in to their sexual identity, orientation, or expression may face potential backlash, he explains.Someone might also engage in this toxic dating trend if they are dealing with internalized homophobia, are dealing with their familys conservative cultural or religious viewpoints, or are concerned that being open could put them both at risk because of prejudice and discrimination, which can turn physical and deadly, Canapi says. What does it say about how someone feels about you?Pocketing says way more about the person engaging in the toxic behavior than it does about you. Is it possible that youre kind of a jerk or a little embarrassing, and they dont want you to meet their friends? Sure. But then why are they dating you in the first place? Its more likely that although they may be telling you they want to be in a long-term committed relationship, they dont actually have any plans to make that type of commitment. In short, theyre being selfish instead of owning up to what they want out of dating you.For the person doing the pocketing, it often just fills one specific need, whether thats sex, companionship, or simply a placeholder until they find someone they see as a better long-term match, explains Tammy Shaklee, a relationship expert, certified matchmaker, and the founder of gay and lesbian matchmaking service H4M Matchmaking. But while that may be hard to hear, youre probably better off moving on if those are the reasons they refuse to include you in their life. And if youre queer, its also important to remember that they may not want to introduce you to folks because of issues surrounding their sexuality, and you shouldnt internalize that. Those who are more private or do not acknowledge their sexuality publicly, pocketing might reflect fear of being outed, rejection, or even display and reveal internalized shame; more importantly, these deeply personal reflections are upon oneself, and not necessarily about you, Canapi says.Is it wrong to do to someone you're dating?Stringing someone along without ever having the intention of fully integrating them into your life, is cruel. No one should have to feel like your dirty little secret or that they arent good enough or important enough to you for you to introduce them to people in your life. Its really not fair to string someone along if you have no intention of taking the relationship further, Shaklee cautions. The only time pocketing might make sense is if both people are on the same page and have openly agreed that this setup works for them, whether its just for now or something longer term.Under most circumstances, pocketing is unkind and almost always hurtful, but it is a trap that can be easy to fall into, Zanzal admits.I remember being out with a woman I cared deeply about, and when we bumped into someone I knew, I was very uncomfortable introducing her, she recalls. I realized that it was about my own internalized homophobia and it was about me. I wasn't ready to be seen because I hadnt fully accepted myself yet. I practiced fake til you make it. I continued to show up with her and proudly introduce her to the world, my own internal world had to catch up. Yes, it was uncomfortable, but so worth doing.Pocketing vs keeping your private life privateSome people lead very private lives and dont share anything about their personal life on social media and dont talk about their love life with coworkers, but it goes beyond privacy when youre getting serious with someone and they refuse to share their life with you or introduce you to people they are close with that are important to them. The difference between privacy and pocketing is the purposes and motives behind it, Canapi explains. Is your partner more of a private or quiet individual who doesn't showcase your relationship publicly, but values you in other ways that are sincere and genuine or is their evasive behavior of keeping you a secret that is questionable and that can cause harm to your relationship? Is it a red flag if someone is doing it to you? While privacy can be a legitimate boundary for some, pocketing is a red flag when it makes you feel unimportant, unacknowledged, and unloved. Being made to feel invisible because of pocketing in a relationship is unacceptable. But what should you do if it's happening to you? What should you do if this is happening in your relationship? If you are the one doing the pocketing, be honest with yourself and your partner about why you are doing it. If you are the one being pocketed ask for clarification about why it is happening, and know that you can leave the relationship if you dont get a real answer or are gaslit about it happening at all. If you have open communication in the relationship, its worth digging a little deeper. Is it that theyre not interested in building a transparent, fulfilling relationship? Or is there something unresolved thats holding them back? You cant fix someone else, but you can gently help them become more self-aware by kindly pointing out what youre noticing, Shaklee says. Most of the time, our gut instinct wants to protect us, and ensure confirmation, but sometimes it can be anxiety playing with us. Having a genuine, sincere conversation about this behavior with your partner will acknowledge how you feel, if being pocketed is hurting your self-worth or making you feel undervalued, it's okay to bring it up and set boundaries, Canapi recommends. If the reason you or your partner are pocketing has to do with still being in the closet, Zanzal recommends seeking out a LGBTQ+-affirming therapist to help you work through the fear and internalized shame.Pocketing can stem from fear or survival instinctsbut love isnt meant to live in the shadows, she says. We deserve to be loved and love out loud.Experts cited: Anne-Marie Zanzal, M.Div., who teaches an online course called "Maybe I Am Not Straight" to help people find clarity and understanding in their coming out journey.Anthony Canapi, an LGBTQ+ dating expert and the founder and CEO of Best Man Matchmaking.Tammy Shaklee, a relationship expert, certified matchmaker, and the founder of gay and lesbian matchmaking service H4M Matchmaking.

Sniffies article from The New Yorker causes online uproarhere's why
The New Yorker published a story about the popular cruising site Sniffies on Thursday, and the comments left under the Instagram post revealed that most people reacted in one of two ways. The story, titled "Sniffies Translates Cruising for the Digital Age," was written by Emily Witt, a staff writer at the publication who covers culture, sexuality, and nightlife. One intense response came from gay people who negatively reacted to the story, noting that they'd prefer if The New Yorker stayed "out of gay people's business." (@) Witt not only traces Sniffies' journey has over the last few years since the platform was launched, but it also serves as the history of cruising within the gay community. It should be noted that the site is marketed mainly toward gay men, as well as the trans and nonbinary community which was one of the reasons that people took issue with this story being solely written by Witt. The general gripe here involves concerns over such a revealing story being publishedThe conceit of the article felt voyeuristic, and in a far-reaching publication after being written by someone who (@) "This 'reporting' is making a spectacle of the queer community for straight upper west siders to talk about at a dinner party," one person wrote in the comments section of the publication's Instagram post promoting the article. "Something within the queer community doesn't need to be blasted in an article just to get criticized by people outside of our community, FYI," another person wrote. The comments about Witt's story are less about the thoroughness in her reporting and research focusing, instead, more on the fact that someone from outside of the community of regular Sniffies users wrote that she made a new social media account for the story and was poking around in a space that is meant for the queer community, leaving some people to feel "exposed." A queer writer named Ty Mitchell shared an X post that read, "The CEO of Sniffies happily provided comment to The New Yorker. It is not, and never will be, the DL sanctuary that it brands itself as, and we, as a community, must accept that Sniffies is first and foremost a novelty apparel company."Many people invoked the words of the late great George Michael, who was followed by paparazzi to a popular cruising spot in London and said, "Are you gay? No? Then fuck off! This is my culture!"There were also plenty of responses that injected some sense of humor, like an X user (below) writing, "You're telling me my 70 year old parents are going to open their New Yorker subscription this week and learn about SNIFFIES!??!!" (@) "CULTURAL WARNING: The New Yorker has written about Sniffies," @zzdoublezz shared via X. (@) A similar reaction read:"Anxiously awaiting my mother, an avid New Yorker reader, to ask me about Sniffies." (@) Last but certainly not least, the article did reach out and referenced authors who have published works on the topic. One of them, Leo Herrera, was thrilled about the inclusion after and celebrated his two books that pulled from an anthology of poems and social media work 2023's POST and 2024's Analog Cruising over the course of his life.See on Instagram

  • Lena Dunham Breaks Down Her New Netflix Show Too Much
    WWW.OUT.COM
'Too Much' creator Lena Dunham: 'Everything is better with queer people'
For her new series, Too Much, Lena Dunham drew from her lifelong love of movies featuring American women falling for English men for the shows central plot (like Notting Hill and Love Actually). The Girls creator and star, who now lives in London and is married to English musician Luis Felber, mined from her experience to create the opposites-attract love story between Megan Stalters Jessica, an American woman who is too much for a lot of folks, and Will Sharpes Felix, a cool semi-slacker front man of a pub band. Though the shows main couple is ostensibly straight, queer characters abound in Too Much, again mirroring Dunham's life. And she wouldnt have it any other way.Everything is better with queer people in it. I don't want to watch anything without queer people in it. I don't want to be in a room without queer people in it, Dunham tells Out. That's not a reality that would work for me. And the people closest to me are queer. Megan Stalter as Jessica and Will Sharpe as Felix in Too Much on Netflix Coutesy Netflix Hacks star Stalter, who is queer, plays the character lightly inspired by Dunham, and when Jessicas queer colleague Gaz (Dean-Charles Chapman) presses her about her identity, she explains shes straight. Theres a hint of apology in her voice for her heteronormativity, followed by an admission (maybe hope) that her identity could one day change. Meanwhile, two of Jessicas other colleagues at the advertising agency, Kim (Janicza Bravo) and Josie (Daisy Bevan), are on the brink of dating. Back home in the States, her former boss, Jameson, played by Girls star Andrew Rannells, has left his marriage to her sister Nora (Dunham) to date a couple named Cody. Too Much is a comedy but with devastating moments ripped from life, including Jessicas gaslighting, emotionally abusive ex Zev (Michael Zegen), and an unflinching abortion story rarely shown in media these days, where once it was an important plot of films like Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982).I think we don't always hear also how emotional and hard that is to go through, too. I think it could be healing for someone to see that scene and just in general stories like that, and queer stories, Stalter says of Dunhams willingness to depict real life.I always talk about how in Hacks, it's just so amazing to see queer people on TV, and it's not their whole storyline, but that's just realistic, Stalter adds. I just think it's incredibly important and validating, and I wish that I saw stories like that and queer stories growing up. I know I saw some, but not near as much as we have now. And it's very validating and healing. Janicza Bravo as Kim and Charles-Dean Chapman as Gaz in Too Much Courtesy Netflix To get the abortion story right, Dunham says she collaborated with Planned Parenthood on details, but she wont claim the moniker of brave for telling it.To me, that does constitute brave and bold storytelling because to me, that's just the world and the reality and my world and my reality, she says. With the abortion storyline, especially with where we find ourselves in the U.S. with Roe v. Wade being overturned, it's so important to show people seeking safe reproductive care where they're not shamed. Megan Stalter as Jessica in Too Much on Netflix Courtesy Netflix The writer-director-actor doesnt see queer storytelling as "brave," but necessary. The people closest to me are queer, she says. While attending a rally for Trans Day of Visibility this year, Dunham spoke about her trans sibling, Cyrus Grace Dunham, saying, The level of color and joyfulness that having a trans person in my family has brought to us is something that I would wish for every family, she recounts, tearing up. I don't think you could have a trans person in your family and not experience that massive shift in your perspective. As a creator of a culture-shifting juggernaut like Girls to her name, Dunham says it's imperative to have stories where we see [trans and queer people] living happy, fulfilled lives in which the entire story is also not about punishing them for their queerness or dragging them through some sort of suffering, but just like [showing] the bold joy.Too Much is streaming now on Netflix.

Guide to Using Castor Oil Safely and Effectively

What is a lesbian top? LGBTQ+ sex experts explain and give tips on topping
The terms topping and bottoming usually come up in two contexts: when talking about gay sex or in the context of a BDSM Dom/sub relationship. In the simplest terms, topping = giving or penetrating, and bottoming = receiving or being penetrated. But there are tops and bottoms in lesbian sex, too. For lesbians, where oral is a big component of your sex life, the top/bottom dynamic may always be present when you take your clothes off, or may just come into play during penetrative sex with fingers or strap-ons. And instead of it just being shorthand for who likes to penetrate and who likes to do the penetrating, it also has a lot to do with which partner wants to be in control and who wants to relinquish it.But there is so much more to get into, so we talked to LGBTQ+ sex and relationship experts to do a deep dive into what a lesbian top is, how you can be the best top around, and what to do if youre brand new to topping in a sapphic relationship. What is a lesbian top?So weve been over what a lesbian bottom is, but what is a lesbian top?Unlike in gay male culture where top and bottom may have clearer penetrative connotations, lesbian dynamics are broader, often involving mutual exchange, but with one partner taking initiative, Chelsea Newton, a licensed clinical social worker who founded the LGBTQ+ sex therapy practice Phases of the Mind therapy, tells PRIDE.While penetration may be part of the equation, there are plenty of other ways lesbian tops dominate, lead, and control in the bedroom.A lesbian top might fuck/penetrate her partner with a strap-on or hand-held dildo, or with her hands. But she might also just be more dominant backing her partner up against a wall, undressing her, or calling the shots, regardless of what specific sexual activities she engaged in. She might even top her partner with her eyes, looking her up and down with unabashed desire, explains Dr. Ruth Schwartz, certified sex and intimacy coach, director at the lesbian-focused Conscious Girlfriend Academy, and author. And dont get bogged down by stereotypes the heteros do that enough for all of us because there are plenty of butch bottoms and high femme tops. So, whether youre a diesel dyke or a lipstick lesbian, you can own the title of lesbian top.Is it all about positions?Sexual positions only play a small role in what makes a lesbian top vs. bottom. Your attitude and level of control and dominance you exert also help define a lesbian top.A top isn't necessarily literally on top! It's about attitude and about a more take-charge energy, Dr. Schwartz says. Or, if she is a service top, she might take charge of the action but in a softer way, with an intent to arouse and please. From stone tops (touch me nots) to service tops to tops who are hyper femme to ones who want to explore masculine energy, there is also no one way to be a top, and it will look different for every person. Some lesbian tops feel they are channeling masculine energy, as if the dildo is their own cock, she explains. Others just love the experience of feeling a partner surrender to her own pleasure with them, whether they're using their hands, mouths, or a strap-on. Whichever way it works for you is fine. What makes a good lesbian top?A good top is attuned to their partners desires and has the confidence to act on that knowledge. The best tops are emotionally present, patient, and responsive, Newton explains. They care about their partners experience, check in without interrupting, and prioritize consent and pleasure. Good tops also know how to create anticipation and adapt in real-time. Psychological flexibility and playful experimentation go a long way.According to Dr. Schwartz, being a good top in a sapphic relationship means being attuned to your partners desires and responses so that you can both arouse her and bring her pleasure. A good lesbian top is also intuitive, and tuned-in to her own body enough to be able to actually feel her partner's arousal and pleasure.Tips for improving your topping skillsLearn your partners erotic language: Ask about turn-ons, boundaries, and fantasies beforehand, Newton suggests.Slow down and build erotic tension through pacing and edging.Pay attention to your partners physical cues like changes in breathing, small body movements, and muscle tension.Dont be afraid to be vocal in bed. Praise, affirmations, and whispered desires can be a huge turn-on for your bottom.Make asking for consent sexy. If you say it with confidence and dripping with desire, a May I? or Do you like this? Can ratchet up the sexual tension while getting consent at the same time. Performative dominance isnt cute or sexy. Have the courage and confidence to learn how to pleasure your partner and then take them to O-town. Practice makes perfect! Many women are sexually shy and, especially if they've been with men, tend not to take the lead. If you're drawn to take the lead with another woman, it's okay to be vulnerable, express your desires, and ask for input and feedback as you build competence and confidence, Dr. Schwartz advises. While your bottom may have plenty of toys of their own, you should equip yourself with a good strap-on harness and several dildos of varying sizes. You can never be too prepared! But what if its your first time?If its your first time topping, either because this is your first lesbian relationship or because youve never explored this sexual dynamic before, it can feel a little overwhelming. But dont worry because our experts have you covered!Being a lesbian top means getting attuned to your partners wants and desires, so start paying close attention to her body language. If you move closer to her, does she soften? If you back her against the wall or pin her down on the bed, does she sigh and open, or stiffen? Never be afraid to ask questions or change course, because being a top is about bringing pleasure, Dr. Schwartz recommends.Dont get too focused on penetration. Not all bottoms are interested, and thats ok, there are plenty of other things to do in the bedroom. Dont forget about foreplay and timing! Many bottoms feel more turned on if they're made to wait before something they are craving whether it's your lips on her lips, your squeeze of her nipples, your mouth or fingers on her pussy, or, of course, your fingers or dildo inside her, Dr. Schwartz says.Encourage your partner to moan, move, and be vocal about what she wants more of or less of. It will help her feel freer and give you valuable information as a newbie. Check in and cuddle afterward. Aftercare is an important part of the experience, too.Biggest mistakes lesbian tops makeRushing through foreplay, ignoring verbal or nonverbal cues, relying on toys while ignoring manual or oral technique, and viewing topping as dominance rather than connection, are all common mistakes lesbian tops make, Newton explains. And dont get it twisted, tops are allowed to enjoy pleasure too. If you want the focus to be solely about your partners enjoyment, thats ok, but youre allowed to have fun and experience orgasms yourself while topping. A lesbian top might also think it's not okay to get aroused, want to be touched, or have an orgasm herself. But in fact, all of these things are more than okay! Letting yourself be touched and pleasured doesn't turn you into a bottom, if your energy is still in charge of the encounter, Dr. Schwartz says. What should you do if you get performance anxiety?First, try to find a partner to explore this dynamic with who you can trust, who is already comfortable as a bottom, and is open to letting you explore this side of yourself. Second, dont put too much pressure on yourself to get it right immediately. Anxiety is common and doesnt mean youre not capable, Newton says. Start by talking openly with your partner about your nerves. Frame this as exploration. Shift from I need to do this perfectly to We get to discover what we like together.Dr. Schwartz agrees, The more you can approach sex with an attitude of play, adventure, curiosity and exploration, the more you can have a good time even if, say, the dildo falls out of its harness, or you have trouble finding a position that lets you thrust, or your hips start hurting midway, or you get a stiff neck or sore tongue. You get to be human and vulnerable while being a top.Experts cited:Chelsea Newton, a licensed clinical social worker and founder of the LGBTQ+ sex therapy practice Phases of the Mind therapy.Dr. Ruth Schwartz, certified sex and intimacy coach, director at the lesbian-focused Conscious Girlfriend Academy, and author of eight books, including Conscious Lesbian Dating & Love.

The way to use it right:Mix with lighter oils such as jojoba or almond oil to cut down on the stickiness. Do a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin or applying it to an acne-prone area. Nighttime is best use a small amount as an overnight treatment so that it has time to absorb.Castor oil is also widely used, as part of the ingredients for cleansing oils, a method wherein oils dissolve and lift dirt and makeup out of the skin without stripping it off its moisture. 'King of Drag' laid out a blueprint for a revolutionary masculinity
This week, King of Drag's inaugural season took its final bow, crowning its first-ever King of Drag. For fans of the artform, it was a moment long awaitedeagerly, impatiently, and with no small amount of outrageas similar shows went on for season after season with little to no king representation. So when this groundbreaking series, with its cast of incredible AFAB, nonbinary, and trans masc stars finally dropped, it felt like a collective exhale. An essential and yet underrepresented segment of the drag community was finally getting its due. And get it, they did. The show proved to be an incredible showcase for drag kings from across the nation, offering up a wonderfully diverse interpretation of kinging. King of Drag had it all: It was glamorous, campy, hilarious, and thought-provoking. For those watching, it tugged on our heartstrings and filled us with a productive, indignant kind of ragerage at the industrys previous lack of inclusion, the cruelty of parents who dismissed or demonized their queer and transgender kids, and a political climate that seeks to criminalize their very existence. To be clear, the world would be a lesser place without their presence. The show did more than just make space or entertain, thoughit laid out a blueprint for a revolutionary new kind of masculinity. Its a vision of maleness that pushes back against the oppressive individualism of patriarchyone that offers freedom for women, trans and nonbinary folks, and yes, men.Speaking with the kings each week as they left the competition, one theme came up again and again: their deep support for one another, despite the trappings of reality show competition. Dick Von Dyke shared a story in which the kings, en route to buy materials for a design challenge, led by Henlo Bullfrog hatched a plannot just to shop for themselves, but for each other. They all enthusiastically signed on, pulling materials that would not only elevate their looks but help their brothers shine, too, sharing supplies, photos, and encouragement along the way. This isnt just good sportsmanship. It speaks to something deeper about the kings and the spirit of King of Drag itself, and how powerfully they differ from other competition series which rely on conflict and reflect a drag-eat-drag world. While both masculinity and reality TV have traditionally been rooted in individualism and the climb to the top, King of Drag and its stars disrupted that norm. They transformed what was ostensibly a competition show into a collaborative exercise. This series proves how much more entertaining these types of programs could be if the primary conversation around them wasnt about whos failing, should go home, etc. but rather the passion and artistry of their cast. What could we accomplish as a people, as a species, if masculinity meant selfless cooperation and the uplifting of others, regardless of gender? How free would each and every one of us be if success didnt always require a scramble to the top over a heap of bodiesboth metaphorical and, heartbreakingly, actually? To put it in fictional terms: a masculinity that is more in line with Ted Lasso than, say, John Wayne. The kings themselves have a way of describing this: king shit.We act with a level of dignity and respect for each other and humility, and [honor], Buck Wylde, a Texas-based king who competed in the season previously told PRIDE. They explained how this collective-focused ethos becomes a part of the ways they express and perform masculinity. Backstage at our king shows, we say stuff like, You make me want to be a better King. We grab each other and hug and say, You're respected in your industry. We bump chests and we build each other up before we go out on stage, just so we remind each other how important each of us is to each other and to the world. The kindness and the puffery are the point; and the result is more freedom. Freedom to take up space, freedom to express themselves and their art, freedom to feel they are enough. It's a concept that bell hooks explored in her book A Will to Change. In patriarchal culture, males are not allowed simply to be who they are and to glory in their unique identity, she wrote. Their value is always determined by what they do. In an anti-patriarchal culture males do not have to prove their value and worth. They know from birth that simply being gives them value, the right to be cherished and loved. Its not lost on me that King of Drag may also represent the greatest and most diverse cast of trans mascs weve seen on screen together. The show doesnt tokenize its trans menit celebrates them, offering a platform to express their trans maleness, opening up about what it cost them and how they were rewarded by bravely claiming their truest identity. Simply existing and exploring their craft on screen is a political act, and the brotherly connection the cast shared in essence helped create a net that allowed them the space and the safety to do so without looking over their shoulders, at least while they were in the Man Cave. With that journey comes a lot of thought, soul-searching, and incredible art. But it also made for rich and thoughtful conversations about gender identity and masculinity. For some, kinging is about reconciling both the masculine and feminine within us, as Alexander the Great described to PRIDE: I feel like my drag has already gone on such a journey of gender expansiveness and helping people understand that masculinity can be soft, flamboyant, effeminate, whatever, and still be masculine. For others, it was about decoupling toxicity from maleness. Or for contestant Big D, it was about defanging toxic masculinity by lampooning it. My job is to take toxic masculinity and make it funny, they told PRIDE.While they make light of mediocre masculinity in their work, its born of great empathy. One of the things I really do in my workshops is get participants to access the sadness and rage that is at the heart of a lot of the masculine experience. Its actually really hard being a man, Big D explained.Again, bell hooks spoke to this exact concept: Learning to wear a mask (that word already embedded in the term masculinity) is the first lesson in patriarchal masculinity that a boy learns, she wrote in A Will to Change. He learns that his core feelings cannot be expressed if they do not conform to the acceptable behaviors sexism defines as male. Asked to give up the true self in order to realize the patriarchal ideal, boys learn self-betrayal early and are rewarded for these acts of soul murder.Ultimately, masculinitylike femininityis a social construct. One we collectively create, define, uphold, or deconstruct. What if masculinity and its expression could expand to become something that centers empathy, that eschews the individualism that preys on the weak and rewards the disposability of others? This feels particularly poignant in this moment, when the man occupying the White House is taking his country for a terrible ride as he exemplifies the most heinous and harmful aspects of toxic masculinity: cruelty, corruption, and pursuit of self over all else and with depraved abandon. It may feel like an impossible task, but King of Drags greatest contribution might not just be the queer and trans joy it highlighted and centeredthough that was important and impactful toobut the roadmap it incidentally laid out for a radical new way to be a man.

Everyone Donald Trump has threatened since the Jeffrey Epstein scandal blew up in his face
July 2025 sparked a fresh new wave of Jeffrey Epstein controversy, thanks to none other than President Donald Trump.US Attorney General Pam Bondi said she had the Epstein client list "sitting on her desk" on February 21. At a MAGA influencer event held at the White House on February 27, she and her team revealed a "Phase 1" binder for the release. (@) Fast-forward to July 7, when the Department of Justice (DOJ) released a memo saying there was "no incriminating 'client list.'"MAGA began collapsing immediately, and #PedoPresident started trending on X (and hasnt stopped.) Petitions demanding transparency circulated, and Republican House Representative Thomas Massie introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act to enforce a vote among the House of Representatives to release the governments full files on the Epstein case, saying, We all deserve to know whats in the Epstein files, whos implicated, and how deep this corruption goes. Trump responded by calling Massie the worst Republican Congressman. Other outspoken Trump supporters like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laura Loomer, Alex Jones, and Megyn Kelly started to criticize the president, with MTG echoing Massie's call for truth. (@) Then, a bombshell Wall Street Journal scoop dropped on July 17, where investigators had found a bawdy 2003 birthday note, allegedly penned by Trump, in Epsteins personal files.Five days later, the DOJ admitted the presidents name appears multiple times in federal evidencebut then insisted there were no further Epstein files to release.Instead of mollifying supporters, Trump has inserted himself into the conversation surrounding the pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's alleged co-conspirator. When asked if he would pardon her, he said he was "allowed to" if he wanted, but that "nobody's asked" him about it. Overnight, some of Trumps most die-hard supporters turned their backs on him.His response has been to launch (or threaten) legal action in every direction as part classic countersuit strategy and part headline-scrambling fog machine.Below is a whos-who list of his current targets, and what each feud is really about. The Wall Street JournalOn July 18, Trump lodged a $10 billion libel complaint in federal court, saying the Journal fabricated the birthday letter and smeared him as Epsteins pal. Trumps lawyers immediately asked the judge to depose [owner Rupert] Murdoch within 15 days.I hope Rupert and his friends are looking forward to many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case, Trump said in a Truth Social post.Apart from Murdoch, the suit names the Journals Publisher, Dow Jones & Company, alongside its parent, News Corporation. The Dow Jones CEO, Robert Thomson, is also on there, as are the two reporters on the Epstein story bylines, Joseph Palazzolo and Khadeeja Safdar.Former President Barack ObamaGrowing tired of blaming everything on Biden, Trump turned back to his 2016 tactics of blaming everything on former President Barack Obama. At a July 22 press talk, Trump urged the DOJ to go after Obama, claiming he buried evidence tying Bill Clinton to Epstein and engineered the original Russia probe to retaliate. He later shared a photo across his social media channels depicting O.J. Simpsons car chase, with Obama in Simpsons drivers seat and Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance driving two cop cars behind him.See on InstagramIn doing so, Trump also inadvertently trolled Vance by using the digitally fattened face photo that many people use to make fun of him.Former President Bill ClintonThe second former president Trump went after was Bill Clinton, who has long faced conspiracy theories from MAGA over his relationship with Epstein.During a meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer while visiting Scotland, Trump said hed never had the privilege of going to Epstein Island and that it was one of his very good moments turning down the invite. However, he took it a step further, saying, Bill Clinton went there supposedly 28 times. I never went to the island, but [former Treasury Secretary] Larry Summers, I hear, went there, he was the head of Harvard. And many other people that are very big people, nobody ever talks about them. For the record, Clinton, like Trump, was also found on the Epstein flight logs. (@) However, even Democrats and Clinton supporters are just as willing to hang him as they are Trump, but if he says his name being on there is a lie, who's to say the same isn't true for Clinton?Former Vice President Kamala HarrisAs if two former presidents werent enough, Trumps also turning his gaze to former Vice President and 2024 challenger Kamala Harris, who he now says ran a campaign funded by illegal celebrity payments. Hes hinted that the DOJ should indict her based on wire fraud. In another Truth Social rant, Trump said he was looking at the large amount of money owed by Democrats, after the Presidential Election, saying theyd admitted to paying, probably illegally, for celebrity endorsements. He later emphasized, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO. Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them.Beyonc, Al Sharpton, and OprahIn the same Truth Social post targeting Harris, Trump also went after Beyonc, Oprah Winfrey, and Al Sharpton for various reasons. As for Queen Bey, he (falsely) said she was paid $11 million for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!)Oprah allegedly took $3 million for expenses, while Sharpton, whom he called a total lightweight and low rated TV anchor, allegedly took $600,000 forsomething.Sharpton refuted the claims on MSNBC, saying, This is the second or third time lawyers for National Action Network are looking at whether we can sue him for defamation because he had knowledge this time that there was no endorsement and that I didnt get any money. This went to the nonprofit Im connected to. ABC News and NBC NewsEvery news that doesnt worship the ground he walks on is Fake News in the Trump world, and neither ABC nor NBC is safe from his wrath.Fresh off a $16 million settlement from Paramount, the owners of CBS, Trump called for the networks to lose their licenses for being political pawns for the Democratic Party. He first attacked their viewership and management, then doubled down on his stance that networks arent allowed to be political pawns, but only for the Democratic Party.Shockingly, following the settlement with Paramount, Trump has done nothing to bring any legal action against South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for that epic takedown of him on the most recent season premiere, showing him in bed with Satan and making fun of his small penis. So, can the lawsuit blitz bury the Epstein story?Hopefully not.The $10 billion WSJ case will crawl through discovery; Obama and Clinton enjoy presidential immunity from most civil claims; campaign-finance prosecutions would require evidence the FEC says it hasnt seen; and broadcast licenses cant be yanked just because he says so.What this strategy does do however, is keep conservative media focused on Trumps counter-punches instead of the potential impending pardon and withholding of the actual files. You know, his usual distract and deflect MO.Whether the presidents scatter-shot legal barrage can recapture these votersor will simply keep Epstein in the headlinesis an open question. For now, the only certainty is that the defendant list keeps growing, and it's not likely to stop anytime soon. And here we were, hoping theyd simply release the files.

  • Dermot Mulroney And Brittany Snow In The Hunting Wives And Bridget Ziegler
    WWW.OUT.COM
Was 'The Hunting Wives' lesbian storyline inspired by this real-life MAGA threesome scandal?
The summers buzziest Netflix show is not only more sapphic than we ever could have predicted but also has a ripped-from-the-headlines plot line that had us glued to our screens. The Hunting Wives, adapted from May Cobbs bestselling novel, follows liberal Sophie ONeil (Brittany Snow) as she relocates from Cambridge, Mass. to small-town Texas where she befriends a group of gun-toting MAGA-esque conservative wives who are, of course, hiding all kinds of kinky secrets.Sophie isnt sure about her new home or the conservative Christians that inhabit it until she gets pulled into Margos (Malin Akerman) orbit. Married to oil baron Jed Banks (Dermot Mulroney), who has aspirations to become a GOP politician, Margo quickly starts flirting with Sophie before their relationship turns hot and heavy. Did we mention this show is very NSFW?Does the plot sound familiar? Yeah, we thought so too. While there are plenty of real-life stories this show is likely pulling from, we couldnt help but think about one of last years biggest Republican scandals that lines up a little too wellexcept for the murder of course! Its a well-known fact that Republicans are often hypocrites. GOP politicians will fight to strip women of their reproductive freedoms while simultaneously forcing their mistresses to get abortions, get plastic surgery at the same time theyre denying trans people the right to gender affirming surgery, and are vehemently homophobic while being caught having gay sex.Which is why its no surprise that The Hunting Wives is eerily similar to the Christian and Bridget Ziegler scandal that rocked the Florida Republican Party in 2024.Again, to be clear, without the murder. On the show, Margo and her GOP husband both sleep with other people Margo was having an affair with a close female friend before meeting Sophie and has secret hookups with her friends teenage son but its when the horny couple talk about their love of sharing women that the Zieglers immediately came to mind."Open marriages are for liberals. We just keep it simple. I don't sleep with other men, and Jed and I see a girl we like, we go for it," Margo tells Sophie after Jed makes a pass at her.The real-life scandal the show seems to draw inspiration from started with a rape allegation against former Republican politician Christian Ziegler, which led to a police investigation that brought the extremely anti-LGBTQ+ couples penchant for having threesomes with other women to light. This led to Christian Ziegler being forced to resign from his position as Republican Party of Florida Chair, much like Margos concern that she and her hubbys extracurricular activities might impact Jebs political aspirations. While the title The Hunting Wives refers to the womens love of boar hunting, Bridget Ziegler used to send her husband to bars to hunt for women they might be interested in by taking photos to send to his wife for approval. You know, the same wife who co-founded Moms for Liberty, an anti-LGBTQ+ conservative organization that tries to ban queer books and eliminate protections for trans students under the guise of parents rights. This is astounding though not surprising if youve been paying attention to Republican politics for the past 50 years level of hypocrisy is alive and well in the fictional Texas town in The Hunting Wives, where Margo tells the women she plans to start a pro-life program once Jed becomes governor, despite her secretly liberal private life.Seeing Republicans be hypocrites is infuriating in real life, but its surprisingly fun to watch a fictionalized version that is full of hot people having lesbian sex. This salacious, soapy, and extremely sexy show is the guilty pleasure watch of the summer, and we just hope that there are really conservative sheriffs out there right now getting pegged by their bisexual wives.

Is Pedro Pascal the target of a hate campaign? Here's what we know
As Pedro Pascal moves through one press tour onto another to promote his 2025 projects, the beloved actor (often being hailed as a "daddy") is now facing what many other A-list celebrities must deal with: The day when a base of social media users turn against superstars and try to turn them into villains through a coordinated hate campaign taking place online.Sign up for the Out Newsletter to keep up with what's new in LGBTQ+ culture and entertainment delivered three times a week straight (well) to your inbox! At the moment, a crop of X users are flooding timelines with images and videos of Pascal attending press events for the first MCU film that will reintroduce "Marvel's First Family" into the cinematic canon. Specifically, the materials being shared show Pascal being affectionate with his co-star, Vanessa Kirby. One post on X that has over 47,000 likes reads, "How does Pedro Pascal get away with heavily petting his female costars, in Hollywood of all places, after the entire industry was upended over MeToo several years ago?" (@) Blake Lively alleged that her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, allegedly hired a crisis PR manager to help coordinate a doctored social media smear campaign against her. This saga between the two actors, which started in November 2019, is still happening as of this story's publication date.Given that pop culture enthusiasts just went through and are still in the middle of the ongoing Lively vs. Baldoni saga, the internet is more aware and more careful than ever when a beloved figure suddenly becomes the target of intense online hate that could be interpreted as suspicious. The sudden switch on Pascal sounded alarm bells for many people. (@) Some fans pointed out that this sentiment comes not too long after Pascal voiced his opposition more strongly than ever against J.K. Rowling's anti-trans rhetoric.Even though there is no concrete proof that this is a direct cause-and-effect situation that can be linked to any one individual or situation, X user @MischiefsYT received nearly nearly 9,000 likes in a post that reads:"The Pedro Pascal hate campaign that suddenly sprung up over night has got to be the most obviously coordinated and botted attack I've ever seen. It's literally the Superman monkey meme incarnate." (@) Fans of the Fantastic Four and The Last of Us actor quickly came to his defense pushed back on the trolls trying to tear Pascal down in the midst of one of his most successful years in showbiz. "This whole Pedro Pascal thing is just revealing that most men cannot fathom intimacy and affection without the promise of sex," one person shared on X. (@) Another person tweeted, "I think most of the anger directed at Pedro Pascal is men not knowing what consent is." (@) Before the backlash ensued, Kirby spoke highly of her costar in an interview for the July/August 2025 cover of Vanity Fair. Kirby discussed the viral moment of them holding hands during a panel at 2024 Comic-Con, saying that they grew close when they started this Fantastic journey into the Marvel Cinematic Universe together."What happened is, we were both incredibly nervous going out in front of thousands of people who love this comic," Kirby explained, referencing Pascal. "He wanted me to know that we were in this together, and I found it a lovely gesture and was very glad to squeeze his hand back." (@) Speculations of coordinated efforts against the Fantastic Four actor grew even more among Pascal's fans who read a particularly pointed X post from fellow MCU star, Simu Liu, of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.Liu wrote on X, "Manufactured hate for someone simply because theyre experiencing a moment of extreme visibility (ie a press tour theyre contractually obligated to do) is really fucking boring."Either way, Pascal continues to glide from one press tour to the next in a landmark year that has had him in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, making his MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, working with Celine Song in Materialists, and then set to appear on Ari Aster's Eddington.

  • Straight Men Gay Men Relationships Friendships Opinion
    WWW.OUT.COM
Straight men dont have enough friendscould gay men be the cure?
As a young millennial at the tail end of my twenties, I receive what often feels like a never-ending stream of wedding invitations. I'm excited to attend some more than others, but I've also found myself included in the wedding parties of more than a few. Last year, I was the best man at Luke's wedding, and soon I'll be a groomsman for Dane's. (Though I'm still half convinced I'm only included thanks to the insistence of their fiances. Someone needs to know how to tie a bow tie for the other men!) I also hope to be included in the weddings of my other friends, such as Carson, Drago, and Will, to name a few. While my presence at so many weddings doesn't seem unusual at first, it wasn't until I started talking with some of my other friendsmore specifically, gay friendsthat I began to reconsider. I quickly realized many of those gay friends had very few, if any, straight male friends of their own. Plenty of other gays and, of course, women, but straight men were nowhere to be seen in these queer circles. And when I was dancing (poorly) at weddings, I was often the only gay man in sight. Thanks to my longstanding friendships with so many straight men, I had become something of an anomaly.I asked one of my gay friends about his experience with straight men, and he felt there were "invisible social boundaries" which often prevented such friendships from emerging, let alone enduring. I had to agree with him. He is one of the most intelligent and cultured men I know. But it also made me wonder how my friendships survived these invisible social boundaries. What was it that set my friendships apart, and what could be gleaned from having strong relationships that broke the boundaries between gay and straight men?I tried to do some digging online, but found that the benefits of gay-straight friendships haven't truly been addressed. If anything, their dynamics have been looked at as nothing more than a curiosity or a potential punching bag. Look no further than "Straight Male Friend" from Saturday Night Live in which Bowen Yang proudly boasts, "Straight male friend is a low effort, low stakes relationship that requires no emotional commitment."Despite the jokes, in recent years, the loneliness epidemic, or at least the perception of such, has been a persistent issue amongst Americans. And if data on loneliness is to be relied upon, it's overwhelmingly affecting men. Harvard's Graduate School of Education surveyed 1,500 individuals in 2024 and found that 21% reported feeling lonely. According to some reports, two-thirds of men between the ages of 18 and 23 say, "No one really knows me." Furthermore, one in five unmarried men and one in every four men under 39 report having no close friends at all.Indeed, establishing a friendship is often easier said than done, but it's far from impossible in our ever-connected world. Even so, one obstacle is communication. Texting men can be a challenge, and men have long been stereotyped as poor communicators. But how can you solve such an issue? A straightforward solution could be pairing bad texters with texting enthusiasts. They say opposites attract, and this can still apply beyond the romantic sense. In my experience, gay men tend to be glued to their phones and don't often take issue with texting others, whether it's to get them to socialize or just to send some memes about Chappell Roan. When I talk with a gay friend, it's not uncommon to be bombarded with a string of twenty or more messages about the Oscars, and I happily send my own string back. One text at a time, the barriers can start to be chipped away once someone shows they can be themselves and find a non-judgmental space for engagement.Maintaining communication can be essential to fostering and sustaining these friendships, though it's not always a necessity. That is a lesson I learned from my straight friends. It's okay to spend time apart without having to live in fear that the last meetup or the most recent text soured the dynamic. Sometimes this can even serve to benefit the friendship and make you all the more excited to see them again. In my experience, men can be willing to text to coordinate times to meet up and spend hours discussing a wide range of subjectsdeath, politics, and Star Wars, among others. Crucially, many of these topics are ones I almost exclusively talk about with my straight friends.I've often thought that straight men want to engage in deeper conversations, but may not feel they have the right outlets to do so in a healthy way. This can lead to men talking at people instead of with them. I can assure you, a gay man will let a straight man know when to shut up. Or, perhaps more importantly, learn how to discuss new topics and listen to one another.Luke's bachelor party last year showcased the perfect confluence of these different cultures of communication. Yes, I was the only gay man in the group, but that didn't stop us all from engaging in a Hot Ones-style wings contest tied into a gay-themed drinking game. I'll never forget some of these straight guys' reactions after being asked probing and sexually charged questions while having to down an IPA and devour chicken wings doused in 'Da Bomb.'Hot wings aside, differing perspectives and experiences between straight and gay men can also help to improve our partnership potential. From a biological perspective, we have decades of research at our disposal for why homosexuality might occur. One of the reasons hypothesized is that same-sex attraction can reduce aggression and conflict due to a statistical reduction in partner competition.Think about it in more practical terms. I've taken my straight friends to bars and helped them as a "wingman." As a gay man, it may have even been easier to earn their trust as someone they can confide in without any sense of competition. While some men harbor homophobic beliefs or feel emasculated surrounding themselves with gay men, this cultural perspective needs to shift. Why couldn't a straight man with multiple gay friends be viewed as better positioned for relationship success? Not only could gay men talk about partners and relationships with their straight friends, but they can also offer some insight into how women or other sexual partners may want or be looking for. Through my friendships, I've been introduced to a variety of new shows, artists, and histories, and learned about some of the anxieties, stresses, and aspirations straight men encounter. This insight has been particularly beneficial to me in recent months, as I have explored our current political climate and why men in my demographic may be shifting to the right. With increasing loneliness amongst men and increasing radicalization based on 2024 election data, now may be the most opportune time for men to seek out new and different friendships. Gay men can reach out and communicate with straight peers, introducing them to Paloma Diamond or polyamory. And straight men, as they have done for me, can teach us about Jeremy Clarkson or paintball. The LGBTQ+ community is currently facing greater threats under the current administration. But having just one gay friend can significantly influence, and perhaps even open a person's mind, on issues they may not have thought about previously. To address polarization, we need to build bridges and be mindful of these barriers amongst ourselves and our communities, whether we identify as gay, straight, or anywhere else along the spectrum.Gay men can and should extend friendships to straight colleagues and make lifelong connections and relationships with them. I have happily done it and know others can too. But gay men can't be the only ones to extend a hand. Straight men will still need to think critically about their own friendships and be willing to step out of their comfort zones. But what else are friends for if not to help one another during difficult or uncomfortable times? If these friendships are to emerge, both gay and straight men need to respond to and begin to dismantle the invisible social barriers. Friendships between men can impact numerous aspects of life, from mental health to politics and culture, but only if we're willing to reach out and form new connections.Which reminds me, I still need to figure out a green suit for Dane's upcoming wedding. I'm just not sure if it should be camo green or brat green.Voices is dedicated to featuring a wide range of inspiring personal stories and impactful opinions from the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Grindr no longer allows users to say 'no Zionists' in a bio
Grindr users have recently reported that the phrase "no Zionists" triggers an error message when they try to put the phrase in the bio section of their profile. The app once allowed the phrase, but 404 Media reports that the app still allows users to put phrases like "No FFA (fat, femmes, or Asians)," a common phrase used to discriminate against other users and other exclusionary language. It's unclear when the ban on the "no Zionists" phrase started, but users have reported seeing the phrase on the app in the past year. A Zionist refers to a person who supports the belief that all Jews constitute one nation; since the war between Israel and Gaza began in 2023, many supporters of Palestine have been vocal in opposing Zionism as a political and ideological movement. But some Zionists have framed this opposition as antisemitic. There is no specific ban against "no Zionists" in the app's terms of service, but the terms do note that users are not allowed to "post, store, send, transmit, or disseminate any information or material which a reasonable person could deem to be objectionable, defamatory, libelous, offensive, obscene, indecent, pornographic, harassing, threatening, embarrassing, distressing, vulgar, hateful, racially or ethnically or otherwise offensive to any group or individual, intentionally misleading, false, or otherwise inappropriate, regardless of whether this material or its dissemination is unlawful. Mashable received a statement from Grindr that confirmed the banning of the phrase, and a spokesperson for the company said it was implemented "following user escalations around its potentially inflammatory nature," and shared that the company is conducting an internal review into the matter. The app has long been criticized for allowing discriminatory phrases that are passed off as "preferences" based on race, and in recent years, the company has made moves to try to combat this by removing the ethnicity filter in 2020.

Thats not hard to believe because the new shows that took over the iconic theaters in Midtown Manhattan were some of the most exhilarating pieces of art to hit the stages in a long time. Broadway audiences were treated to revivals of legendary shows, some show-stopping West End transfers, and stories created around existing intellectual properties, as well as wholly original stories. Many of the shows that took the stage in the theater district were not centered around queer characters, but there is so much for queer people to love. If there wasnt a diva belting their hearts out, there was family drama or maybe a queer actor playing a beloved straight icon. This past season, there was a lot to choose fromsome you might have missed now that theyve closed, but others are just getting started. Here are the best Broadway shows for LGBTQ+ audiences that queer people would love.I can't stop thinking about 'John Proctor is the Villain.'John Proctor is the Villain provides a solution to an issue that plagues Broadway. When it comes to talking about feminism, the material rarely rises above the notion of women can do anything a man can do with a hand on hip and a finger wag. Audiences eat it up every time, but all it ever gets is an eye roll and a big sigh out of me. The trite and stale sentiment feels stuck in the girlboss, SheEO days of pop culture that have been wrung dry. But this show perfectly places itself in 2018 after Trumps first election and the birth of the #MeToo movement and breathes new life into the stage conversation about feminism. The show takes place in a one-stoplight town in Georgia and follows a classroom of kids as they read Arthur Millers The Crucible under the tutelage of their teacher, Mr. Smith. Throughout the show, we learn more about each character and the ways their lives are intertwined. When a student named Shelby (played by Sadie Sink) returns from a prolonged absence, a shocking truth is revealed, and the kids are left to reflect on their internalized biases and confront the reality of the #MeToo era society has just entered. The show is a spine-tingling breath of fresh air that could not have come at a better time. If theres any show to see, its this one.For those who may not get the chance to grab some tickets, you can wait for the recently announced movie, which is set to be executive-produced by Sink with Tina Fey, Marc Platt, and the shows playwright Kimberly Belflower serving as producers.'Just in Time' made a splish-splash this seasonWhether you know Jonathan Groff from his role as Jesse St. James in Glee or you love Bobby Darin (I, a 27-year-old Latin gay man who didnt grow up listening to 50s crooners, didnt know him), its impossible not to fall in love with Just in TimeJust in Time. Groff shoots out electricity as he fully embodies the role of Darin (singer of Beyond the Sea and Mack the Knife) as he sings, dances, and runs all around the Circle in the Square Theater (which they jokingly and lovingly say is in the basement of Wicked). The show was packed to the brim with talent, featuring a supporting cast that included Gracie Lawrence as Connie Francis and Erika Henningsen as Sandra Dee.The show expertly avoids the pitfalls of being a tourist trap that is essentially a vehicle for an end-of-show sing-along. It strikes the perfect balance of being recognizable and entertaining for newcomers who didnt grow up with Darins music.Thank you, Audra McDonald, for giving us this revival of 'Gypsy.'The most affecting performances you see on Broadway arent just the loudest, the funniest, or the most dramatic its the tidal wave of emotions the audience feels from the very best performers. From the moment Audra McDonald makes her first appearance in the revival of Gypsy, its clear that shes coming in like an avalanche.McDonald, the most decorated Tony-winner of all time, leads the charge under George C. Wolfes directorial hand in the Stephen Sondheim classic about an overbearing stage mom trying to set her kids up for success with her partner, Herbie (Danny Burstein). All the while, her kids (Joy Woods as Louise and Jordan Tyson as June) grow to resent her, leaving Rose with almost nothing. Eight shows a week, McDonald hurls all of the anguish that Rose feels at the audience, and if you leave without being overwhelmed by those emotions, its hard to believe we saw the same show. You knew 'Oh, Mary!' was going to be on this list.Cole Escola has cut their teeth in the entertainment industry for years. From working with Amy Sedaris to being a featured actor in Difficult People and Search Party, it was about time that the world finally saw their talent and unshakable work ethic. Their star began to rise in 2024 when Oh, Mary! became the hottest off-Broadway ticket in New York City. With no historical research, Escola created an unforgettable character of Mary Todd Lincoln as a suffocated, alcoholic, striving cabaret star, an exaggerated version of their own life story. The irreverent comedy seeps into every nook and cranny of the dialogue, making for one of the most enjoyable comedic performances on Broadway. Escola originated the role off and on Broadway, ultimately leaving the show altogether after winning the Tony for Best Actor in a Play at this years Tonys. Now, Titus Burgess takes the character of Mary in a different, but still delightful direction, before RuPauls Drag Race alum Jinkx Monsoon dons the tight pin curls for eight weeks starting August 4 through September 27. After that, well see whos up for the challenge. There are some off-Broadway gems worth watching, like 'Heathers: The Musical.'Heathers: The Musical is a cult classic in the world of musical theater. It first premiered in a Los Angeles tryout in 2013 before getting an off-Broadway run in 2014 with Barrett Wilbert Weed and Ryan McCartan in the lead roles (and the voices featured on the original cast album recording). Over a decade later, the show is making its return to New York City with a second run at the New World Stages featuring performances from Broadway actors like Lorna Courtney (from &Juliet) as Veronica Sawyer and Casey Likes (from Back to the Future: The Musical) as Jason Dean in this musical about two outcasts trying just to survive high school. The beloved musical continues to draw rowdy crowds, with some of the theatergoers cosplaying as the three titular antagonists: The Heathers. The show has a few kinks to work out, but overall, it works well on an off-Broadway stage, and theres no shortage of explosive singing or tension between the storys two main protagonists. In the show, theres also a silly number about gay dads that will make any queer person burst out laughing. If youre a messy gossip and love drama, run to see 'Purpose.'Casual theater lovers will have noticed Kara Young, a formidable young actress, win her second Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play at this years Tony Awards for the second consecutive year. She nabbed the trophy for her work in the Tony- and Pulitzer-winning dramedy, Purpose. The show follows a young man named Nazareth (referred to as Nas throughout the show) as he navigates his family during a visit back home. If I give too much away, then it spoils the fun. But I can say that there is an interesting conversation about queerness and asexuality especially older generations coming to terms with queerness.Everyone has their secrets. And throughout the show, one by one, they are uncovered, and its not without drama. Each of the characters, whether they are aware of it or not, is figuring out their purpose, and this turns out to be an extremely messy process. Theres a reason this show won top honors for writing; its crafted with a laser-focused precision, and it turbocharges your brain to analyze and unpack every line of dialogue.'Operation Mincemeat' is a sleeper hit about unsung heroes. Those who watched this years Tony Awards saw Operation Mincemeat take home two prizes, one for Best New Musical, one for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Jak Malone). The successful West End transfer is a gender-bending, dizzyingly fast-paced show inspired by a real-life covert British operation to divert Nazi troops from invading Sicily. The plot may sound underwhelming, but the show is anything but.Five actors split the load of portraying over 80 characters, making small adjustments to their costumes and posture to embody a completely different character within seconds. Its a seamless comedic production that also pays homage to the military personnel who played a crucial role in this operation.'Death Becomes Her' serves all that gaze.Every gay mans wet dream? Two beautiful women singing some of the best original music on Broadway while wearing the most glorious gowns created by the Oscar- and Tony-winning costume designer, Paul Tazewell. Throw in the musical chops of two unserious, wickedly talented bombshells like Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard, along with one-third of Destinys Child, Michelle Williams, and add in this potion that makes you live for eternity, and youve got yourself the hit that is Death Becomes Her.If youve seen the movie, you know the plot: Two women obsessed with beauty take a potion that gives them youthful beauty and (for better or worse) eternal life. The show builds on the camp factor with over-the-top musical numbers, especially Hiltys high-octane For the Gaze. This showstopper is filled with rainbows, multiple costume changes into icons like Liza Minnelli and Judy Garlands Dorothy, hot (and skilled) background dancers, and nonstop choreography, with not a note missed by Hilty. The two divas battle it out and belt in each others faces in the song Hit Me, and Williams knocks her songs Siempre Viva and If You Want Perfection out of the park.RIP: You should've gone to see 'BOOP!'BOOP! closed earlier this month, but it deserves a mention. The show followed the iconic cartoon character Betty Boop, played perfectly by Jasmine Amy Rogers, as she discovered and ventured into the real world wanting to get away from the repetitive nature of black-and-white existence. She was given the chance to see the world in technicolor as she figured out who she is and helped the shows other characters reflect on their own lives as well.In BOOP!, Rogers melted into her role as the titular character. The line between her and Betty was blurred entirely, and the audience was better off for it. She was magnetic on stage. She showed the audience, eight shows a week, why she was nominated for a Tony with her show-stopping number, Something to Shout About, a heartbreaking ballad that, at its conclusion, lifted people out of their seats for a well-deserved standing ovation.BOOP! was a radiant, campy romp about a canonical caricature with stellar costumes and jokes that flew a mile a minute. The whole cast had their moment to shine, but Pudgy, her cartoon puppet dog, was the obvious star and should have gotten a Tony nomination.

Julia Garner had to convince Madonna she could dance to play the pop star in a biopic
The Material Girl is still getting her movie after all!Julia Garner, the breakout star of Netflix's Ozark who's joined the MCU in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it shared an update on the Madonna biopic she's set to star in.There have been reports that the biopic, which will be directed by Madonna herself, has been canceled. However, Garner says the film is "supposed to still happen" and that "anything that's great takes a long time," per Variety.Garner, who won three Emmys for her role as Ruth Langmore on the Netflix show Ozark, was a guest on the SmartLess podcast with hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman when she provided an update for the long-gestating Madonna biopic. She admitted that she "grew up listening" to Madonna and is "such a fan" of the singer. She also gave some insights into the auditioning process, revealing that Madonna was a big part of it.Garner said she heard about the project and went out to audition, but felt a little out of her depth."I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it, because I wasnt a trained dancer," Garner revealed. "And I had to learn how to dance and then dance in front of her and convince her that I can dance, basically, and sing. And sing with her!"To hype herself up, she got in the mindset of the Queen of Pop.She said before the audition, she asked herself, '"OK, what would Madonna do?' Which is convince you that she deserves, you know, to be in this room, and I owned it. I was kind of like, 'You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it, if I leave, then thats on you.'"The project has been in development since 2020 at Universal. In 2023, it was announced that the biopic was put on indefinite hold due to the singer's career-spanning world tour. Garner is clarifying that the project is still happening, and fans couldn't be more excited.

  • Christian Singer Michael Tait Performing On Stage In Nashville Tennessee
    WWW.OUT.COM
Eight men have accused Christian rock star Michael Tait of sexual assault
Michael Tait is one of the biggest names in the history of Christian rock. Now, he's being accused of sexual assault by eight men.Tait, formerly a lead singer for the popular Christian bands DC Talk and Newsboys, was previously accused by six men of sexual assault. Now, two more have added their accusations, according to a new report in The Guardian.Jason Jones, the founding manager of the band Evanescence, told The Guardian that he was fired from the band after he spoke about his alleged encounter with Tait.Jones met Tait in the 90s, and the musician helped him and Evanescence get meetings with record labels, producers, and venue owners. During this time, Jones alleges that Tait would take him out drinking and smoking marijuana and confessed that he was "living a double life as a closeted gay man."He alleges that in 1998, he was drinking at Tait's house when he felt tired and was told to go sleep in Tait's bedroom. He then says he woke up some time later with Tait performing oral sex on him."I said no and pushed him off, but then, somehow, I passed out again. I woke back up, and he was still doing it. I said no again, then nodded out," Jones told The Guardian. "And then I woke up a third time, aggressively shouted, 'no!' and pushed him harder. It was then that he left me alone."He says he believes Tait drugged him.Evanescence co-founder Ben Moody said he recalls Jones telling him about a sexual encounter with Tait, but that he thought it was consensual. He also denied that Jones was fired for speaking out against Tait."I was a kid, only 18, and clearly didn't realize what he was going through," Moody said. "I'm sure I missed a lot of things Id recognize today. I didnt realize he was traumatized."Another man, Randall Crawford, alleged that in 2000, he went over to his friend Tait's house after a bad breakup. There, he says he had one shot of alcohol and "blacked out shortly after I took that one drink."He says he remembers waking up with his pants around his ankles and his legs in the air with Tait licking his anus.Tait has been a superstar in the conservative Christian world since the late 80s with bands like DC Talk, Newsboys, and Tait. In 2004, he and fellow DC Talk member TobyMac worked with Christian Nationalist organization WallBuilders to publish the book Under God.Tait's song with Newsboys, "God's Not Dead," has become an anthem for the Christian Right and is featured in several evangelical and Christian Nationalist films of the same name.More recently, Tait has endorsed and supported Donald Trump in his campaigns for president. In June, Christian news site The Roys Report dropped a bombshell story alleging that Tait had been accused of sexual assault, grooming, and substance abuse dating back to 2004, when he was performing as a solo artist. The story featured allegations from three men who said they individually met Tait in 2004, 2010, and 2014. Two of them stated that they woke up to Tait "fondling their genitals" after drinking with him. The third said he was given a back massage while skinny dipping with Tait and that Tait allegedly "non-consensually massaged his anal region" while the two shared a king-size bed.See on InstagramOn June 10, Tait published a statement on his Instagram titled, "My Confession." In it, he admitted that the "recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity, are sadly, largely true."In the statement, he said he "might dispute certain details" in the accusations, but admitted to touching "men in an unwanted sensual way" and said he does not dispute the "substance" of the allegations. The statement also said that in January 2025, when he stepped down from being frontman of the band Newsboys after 15 years, it was "to get help." Tait says he spent six weeks at a treatment center in Utah and has been clean and sober since. On June 13, The Guardian published a story featuring three other men who allege Tait sexually assaulted them, as well as four more who said he "engaged in inappropriate behavior such as unwanted touching and sexual advances."Two of the men in The Guardian's report alleged that Tait had drugged them before assaulting them. One accuser, Shawn Davis, alleges that he was a minor when he met Tait, who quickly took him under his wing and introduced him to drugs and drinking. He asserts that when he was 17, he was drugged by Tait and said that he "woke up in the closet, and [Tait] had my pants down, and he was giving me a blowjob."Another accuser, known as "Adam" in the report, shared a similar story that involved "waking up in his bed, my pants unzipped, and [Tait] was jerking me off."A third accuser, Isaral Anthem, says he was 13 when Tait allegedly exposed his penis to him in a restaurant bathroom and Tait began "rubbing his penis, and making eye contact."Tait has yet to comment on the new accusations.

Divas in the drawing room: The Gilded Age drag cameo you might have missed
Suppose you blinked while watching the latest episode of The Gilded Age. In that case, you may have missed the first drag appearance in Julian Fellowes's opulent world of ball gowns, tiaras, and drawing room intrigue. In this season's fifth episode, Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) and Jack Trotter (Ben Ahlers) celebrate the sale of the alarm clock and Larry's engagement to Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobsen). For fans of Fellowes's universe, including Downton Abbey and Belgravia, most settings are prim and proper. But rather than taking Jack to a stiff-upper-lipped gentleman's club, Larry takes him to Haymarket: an actual venue in the late 1800s that was deemed the New York equivalent to Paris's Moulin Rouge. In addition to ladies' boxing, you may have seen a lithe, male figure dressed in an elegant ladies' evening dress. It was a rare nod to the subculture of the time, though much of the visibility was left on the cutting room floor. The Gilded Ages costume coordinator, Matthew Carlsen, was one of several female impersonators "and a few other general queer folk" in the episode and shared thoughts on this groundbreaking moment.See on Instagram"As a huge admirer of female impersonator Julian Eltinge, I was excited to learn the production team wanted to showcase this incredibly under-represented group in queer history," Carlsen tells The Advocate, referring to the real 1800s' actor famed for blurring gender lines. "I was even more excited when I was asked to portray one of them within the scene, as it's quite rare for this kind of character to be featured in historical storytelling in any serious, non-comedic manner."Unfortunately, the moment featuring Carlsen and fellow impersonators was drastically cut, with only one of the impersonators (played by fellow designer Keith Kelly) featured briefly in the scene. Carlsen couldn't comment on the rationale for cutting the vignette, inferring it could have been due to the constraints of runtime and the seasons limited number of episodes. Still, he reaffirmed the importance of queer visibility in historical dramas like Gilded Age. I think it is incredibly important that queer history be represented in modern media, especially historical retellings, Carlsen says. If we take the specific example of female impersonators around the turn of the 20th century, we are seeing performers who were quite renowned and respected in their contemporary culture. While this period in American history is known for expansive mansions and arranged marriages between American "Dollar Princesses" and European nobility, the Gilded Age was an era in which drag not only developed in this country but thrived. Drag in the Gilded Age became increasingly popular, from the first self-proclaimed "Queen of Drag" (more on this below) to operatic divas, and highly sought-after tickets to drag balls.Although drag's origins can be traced back to the ancient world, according to National Geographic, its roots in the United States date back to the mid-19th century, as female impersonators were often part of racist minstrel shows. However, its origins in this country may date back to a previous century, not as entertainment, but as a political performance, giving us America's first-recorded politician in drag. Step aside, J. Edgar Hoover, and give your best obsequies to Edward Hyde, Viscount Cornbury, and, later, the 3rd Earl of Clarendon. The governor of New Jersey and New York at the turn of the 18th century, and a cousin of the reigning Queen Anne (immortalized in the 2018 film The Favourite), it was alleged that Hyde publicly dressed in drag. It's even alleged that the governor opened a session of the colonial legislature dressed as a literal representative of the queen, bedecked in fashionable female attire of the time. A painting from that period, now held in the collection of the New York Historical Society, was once attributed as the only visual image existing of the governor in a diva-like pose, complete with elaborate attire and a grand dame's demeanor.By the time of the Gilded Age, set in the 1880s, drag was already being performed, albeit mostly in private spaces, such as Haymarket. A notable drag icon from the time was Brigham Morris Young, a Utah-based son of a prominent Latter-day Saints leader, Brigham Young. Founding what would become the Young Men program of the church, Young began performing drag not long after his missionary stint in the Hawaiian Islands, under the name Madam Pattirini. Starting in the mid-1880s, Madam Pattirini would perform through parts of Utah, with a falsetto so beautiful that many didn't realize it was the son of a Church leader.Still, this did not prevent Young from succeeding as a church leader and drag artist. Young was still performing at the turn of the 20th century, according to an article from the Deseret Evening News. Madam Pattirini performed for LDS President and father-in-law Lorenzo Snow, billed as "Pattirini the Italian prima donna," with a "good falsetto voice and the ability to sustain a female character."Born a slave, William Dorsey Swann hosted the first 'drags', secret events held in Washington, D.C. As the first self-proclaimed "Queen of Drag," William was instrumental in creating the House of Swann, a gathering of formerly enslaved individuals and drag queens of the time, where they performed a dance called the cakewalk a series of reclaimed, improvisational movements that resemble modern-day voguing. These events, according to the Smithsonian, would later catch the attention of local authorities; Swann faced police raids and arrests. Later arrested on charges of running a brothel, Swann attempted and failed to get a presidential pardon. But that moment left another historic moment for the books, as Swann became the first queer American to defend our community's right and dignity to gather freely and without violence. While local authorities in D.C. were using oppressive means to stop Swann's gatherings, in New York, these events were not just happening but thriving.Enter the Hamilton Lodge Balls. It's easy to imagine that, as Larry was dragging Jack to Haymarket, Black queer, trans, and gender-expansive folks were gathering in Harlem for what The New York Freeman's referred to as "the event of the season." Organized by one of the few African American fraternal organizations at the time, the Hamilton Lodge celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1869 by hosting the first recorded drag balls in the United States, two decades before Swann's infamous parties. A place where queens reigned and categories were lived, not judged, the balls weren't underground whispers. By the 1920s, they were drawing thousands of spectators from across the city. Working-class mixed with Upper East Side elites, and people of all colors were eager to witness the spectacle of Harlem's finest strut, twirl, and serve in full regalia. The Hamilton Lodge Balls laid the foundation for modern-day ballroom culture, a lineage that stretches from the 19th century to Paris Is Burning, Pose, and ultimately to TikTok. These were nights when our queer forebears not only found each other but also celebrated one another. But as Heidi Klum would tell her Project Runway contestants, "One day you're in. The next day, you're out." This sentiment is no more accurate than drag performers from the late 1920s onward. Though few like Julian Eltinge secured Broadway shows and even movie deals, the successive decades brought shifting tides of popularity toward drag and literal morality police flexing anti-crossdressing laws to control drag, queer, and trans bodies in public and private spaces. Tides began to move again and, well, the rest is history or yet to be written. At heart, drag is about performance and fashion. But it's also freedom. For one night, a janitor could be a duchess. A church choirman could be a siren. And a Black queer body, so often criminalized and marginalized, could be revered like royalty. See on Instagram"Whether it be Oscar Van Rhijn or Queen Charlotte's butler, we aren't really getting the opportunity to experience queer characters in historical drama that feel complex or real, but rather sanitized to appeal to the target demographic when compared to their heterosexual counterparts," Carlsen says, reflecting on the appearance of queer characters in historical dramas like Gilded Age and Bridgerton. "No matter the genre, the choice to include queer storylines needs to be an active choice and not a keeping-up-with-the-Joneses dogfight between streaming series."And that active choice for visibility, now more than ever, is something we can all tip our tiaras to.

Doja Cat mocks Sydney Sweeney's controversial American Eagle ad
Sydney Sweeney's most recent ad campaign for American Eagle has not been going over well with the general public, and the more it gets viewed, the stronger the backlash becomes. One of those detractors is the rapper Doja Cat, who, in a recent video uploaded to TikTok, was seen reciting what the actress said in the ad with an exaggerated Southern accent. "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color," the "Juicy" rapper mimics in the video. "My jeans are blue." @dojacat my jeans are blee Sweeney's latest American Eagle campaign has spurred a wave of criticism, with some people saying that it has an undercurrent of racist ideologies, promotes eugenics, and could be construed as fascist propaganda. This is because the tagline, "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans," is a play on words (jeans vs. genes), and given Sweeney's blonde hair and blue eyes, some are seeing the ad as a "Nazi dog whistle." (@) After the ad went live, it was almost immediately met with allegations of being tone deaf. In a second video, Sweeney can be seen talking about her jeans in a sultry tone as the camera pans down to her chest, and she says, "Hey! Eyes up here!"Neither Sweeney nor American Eagle has responded publicly to the backlash, but the ad has been doing wonders for the company. "American Eagles stock jumped 10%, adding more than $200 million to the groups valuea godsend for a brand that had had a disastrous year on the stock market," Vanity Fair reports. The ad, too, is raising money for a charitable cause. The "Sydney Jean" features a butterfly on the back pocket, which the company's website says is to represent "domestic violence awareness," and all the proceeds from the jeans will be donated to the Crisis Text Line, "a nonprofit offering free, 24/7, confidential mental health support to anyone in need."

24 notable 'Big Brother' players who came out as LGBTQ+
Queer stars of the Big Brother pantheon.Since its inception, Big Brother has been a social experiment about putting all kinds of different people inside a house and asking them to play a game for a hefty grand prize, which started out as $500,000 and has now evolved to $750,000.Though viewers have taken issue with how certain people of color and LGBTQ+ contestants were portrayed in earlier seasons of Big Brother, that criticism was technically valid to all reality shows, across the board, during those early years of the genre. Thankfully, queer representation in the series has improved, and Big Brother has become a much more diverse show.Thankfully, Big Brother had quite a few LGBTQ+ players who paved the way over the years for the show to become better, fairer, and more inclusive. The show has persevered through many challenging times and is still considered one of the biggest reality competition shows in the world.Scroll through to learn more about the LGBTQ+ contestants who made history on Big Brother.Andy Herren (Big Brother 15)Andy Herren won three Head of Household (HOH) competitions and two Power of Veto (POV) competitions over the course of BB15. His alliances mostly consisted of female houseguests, which was a pretty surprising thing for queer men playing Big Brother in the U.S.In the end, Andy became the first out gay winner of Big Brother by a jury vote of 7-2.Audrey Middleton (Big Brother 17)Audrey Middleton entered the Big Brother 17 house as the first out trans contestant in the series. Unfortunately, she is still the only trans contestant to compete in the entire existence of the U.S. show. Her time on the show was also not great, as Aubrey started to feel isolated from the other houseguests as, by default, became an easy target to get voted out.Ultimately, Audrey made Big Brother history but was evicted pre-jury on week 4.Beau Beasley (Big Brother 6)Beau Beasley, a member of the infamous BB6 alliance known as The Friendship that steamrolled other competitors in that season, managed to win an HOH competition and stay in the game until week 9.Bowie Jane Ball (Big Brother 25)Bowie Jane Ball was an entertaining character on Big Brother 25 who, despite not making the moves the public wanted her to make, had a very earnest way to navigate the competition.Overall the alliance known as The Mafia resulted in all three houseguests getting to the end. Bowie Jane placed third, Matt Klotz finished as runner-up, and Jag Bains won the show.Bunky Miller (Big Brother 2)Bunky Miller an OG houseguest featured on Big Brother 2 spent 61 days in the competition but never won a Head of Household competition.Despite finishing the season in fifth place, Bunky is still remembered by LGBTQ+ fans.Christie Murphy (Big Brother 21)Christie Murphy identified herself as a lesbian as soon as she walked into the Big Brother 21 house, wasting no time at all. The reason? Well It just so happens that she already knew another contestant in the season Tommy Bracco from previously dating one of his female relatives. In any case, Christie was always very confident about her sexuality and would have probably come out that quickly even if Tommy wasn't in the house with her.Claire Rehfuss (Big Brother 23)Claire Rehfuss, who identifies as bisexual, was one of the fan-favorite houseguests on Big Brother 23. Though she played a great game, Claire wasn't able to go up against the historic Cookout alliance. Some fans are surprised to realize that Claire actually had a showmance during her BB23 journey with Derek Xiao except that their showmance only started in the jury house, after both of them had already been eliminated.Fun fact: Claire and Derek returned to reality TV as competitors on The Amazing Race season 34 And they won!Derek Frazier (Big Brother 23)Derek Frazier a.k.a. Big D made it to the end of BB23 by trusting his Cookout alliance and staying loyal to them at all times. He played a strong social game, but ended up losing the competition by a unanimous 9-0 jury vote to Xavier Prather at the finale.Frankie Grande (Big Brother 16)Frankie Grande was a polarizing contestant on Big Brother 16. At the same time that he was extremely competitive and aligned himself with the most powerful alliance in the game, some fans took issue with him siding with the male players who had been taking down the women week after week. In any case, Grande left a huge mark in the Big Brother canon.Jason Roy (Big Brother 17; Big Brother: Over the Top)After being an incredibly captivating contestant on Big Brother 17, Jason Roy came back to compete on Big Brother: Over the Top. During his second chance on the show, Roy played a fantastic game and finished as runner-up.Hisam Goueli (Big Brother 25)Going into BB25, Hisam Goueli was an "archetype" of gay players that fans hadn't seen that often on Big Brother: He was 45 (not the usual 20-something gay person), and he was extremely fit, which made him a comp threat for physical challenges.Jenn Arroyo (Big Brother 14)Jenn Arroyo was another older-than-average person in the LGBTQ+ community to enter this competition. Considering that BB14 aired in 2012 a time when queer women tended to identify themselves as bisexual instead it feels pretty radical that Jenn stood on business and lived as her most authentic self at all times.Jozea Flores (Big Brother 18)We couldn't possibly have a list like this without Jozea Flores. The Big Brother 18 star quite literally, and earnestly, reached the conclusion that he had been sent into season 18 to be "the Messiah for the newbies."Instead, Jozea just put the messy in Messiah. We had a blast, though!Kaycee Clark (Big Brother 20)Kaycee Clark became the first out lesbian contestant to win the show on Big Brother 20. Besides playing one of the most impressive social games of all time, Clark had a string of competition wins toward the end of the season that helped her finale pitch to the jury members. And win, she did!Kevin Campbell (Big Brother 11; Big Brother 22: All-Stars)Kevin Campbell was an entertaining and very savvy player on Big Brother 11 who had a legitimate chance to win that season if he hadn't lost the final HOH competition. That last-minute twist resulted in Kevin placing third on the show. he returned for Big Brother 22: All-Stars many years later but wasn't able to play as good of a game in that subsequent season.Marcellas Reynolds (Big Brother 3; Big Brother 7: All-Stars)Marcellas Reynolds was an iconic houseguest during both of his runs competing on Big Brother: season 3, where he played 5th overall; and season 7, where he finished in 9th place.Michael Bruner (Big Brother 24)Michael Bruner had everything it takes for someone to win Big Brother, except that he couldnt control himself and ended up winning an unbelievable nine competitions during BB24. Those three HOH wins and six POV wins absolutely put a huge target on Michael's back, and he was evicted as soon as he wasn't able to secure any protections in week 9.Paul Abrahamian (Big Brother 18; Big Brother 19)Paul Abrahamian did something that many fans of the show would deem inconceivable: Making it to the grand finale twice, back to back, and losing both finales despite some argue having a stronger track record than the other finalist.Overall, Paul was a certified comp beast with eight comp wins between BB18 and BB19. In 2020, Paul Abrahamian updated their pronouns to they/them.Paulie Calafiore (Big Brother 18)The target on Paulie Calafiore's back was set from the start as he walked into the season being the brother of Cody Calafiore then an iconic runner-up of BB16, and a player who subsequently won Big Brother 22: All-Stars.Despite winning two HOHs, three POVs, and escaping the couple a couple of times, Paulie still placed 8th overall and became a jury member. In 2023, Paulie came out as bisexual.Ragan Fox (Big Brother 12)Big Brother 12 was largely steamrolled by The Brigade alliance. Nonetheless, Ragan Fox still managed to place fifth in the season and starred in one of the most hilarious fights in BB history where he read fellow contestant Rachel Reilly to filth.Tommy Bracco (Big Brother 21)Tommy Bracco placed fifth on BB21 and was one of the main stars of that entire season. Besides his one HOH win and two POV wins, Bracco also played a great social game with his fellow houseguests.Vanessa Rousso (Big Brother 17)Vanessa Rousso is considered one of the best players in Big Brother history. She was so good of a player, in fact, that her own ally Steve Moses chose to cut her at the grand finale of BB17. He candidly confessed, live on TV, and to Vanessa's face, that the only way for him to win the show was to not sit next to her in the final episode."You have played the most brilliant game I mean this as a student and super fan of this game," Steve told Vanessa. "As a student of this game, you are the most brilliant female player this game has ever seen."Will Large (Big Brother 5)Zach Rance (Big Brother 16)It's hard to describe the chaotic and brutally unfiltered sincerity of Zach Rance in the Big Brother 16 house. All season long, Zach had a pretty adorable showmance with costar Frankie Grande. But given that Frankie was always the fabulous gay man he still is, Zach was a total "bro" from Florida. Somehow, these two became each other's beaus in the house and spent days on days cuddling. In 2020, Zach came out as bisexual (via People).
