Happy Pride Month, Out readers!Did you hear about our Pride of Broadway event? The event, held in New York City on Monday, June 2, honored the Broadway divas on the latest cover of Out Magazine, as well as Cynthia Nixon, The Advocate's latest cover star. The red carpet featured many of the best and brightest of the LGBTQ+ world, including Nathan Lee Graham, Dominique Jackson, Judy Gold, Amy Schneider, Plasma, and, of course, some of the cover stars, including Megan Hilty, Lea Salonga, and Cynthia Nixon!Nixon spoke at the event, discussing the importance of queer media in the present day and the corporatization of Pride."Pride the last few years has just gotten a little sanitized and corporatized," she said. "And I think we don't need these people coming in and trying to steal our glitter and our glory and our spotlight. At a time like this, we need it to be us and the people who really care about us and want to fight for us."Hell's Kitchen star Maleah Joi Moon also spoke, welling up with tears at the importance of the moment."It's really important. I love being on this cover. I love sharing this cover with all these beautiful women, and queer icons, and allies," she said. "Pride Month is one of the most colorful and beautiful months of the year, and I'm so happy to be openly a part of it for the first time. Thank you for seeing me as the young, Black, queer woman artist that I am, and for honoring me. I honor you in return."While Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth wasn't able to attend, she sent a message that was read onstage by Peppermint."I want to be the reminder that you are seen and that God loves you. That you are not tolerated, you are accepted," the message read. "We are all made in His image. So remember, he made you exactly who you are meant to be. I wish I was there to give everyone hugs and to check out everyone's outfits, because no one does it better than the queens. Have a beautiful Pride Month, and I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I'm nothing without my gays."Keep reading to find Pride products and collections that actually give back to the queer community, our Woman Crush Wedsnesday, and all the best pop culture news!2025 Pride collections that actually give back to the LGBTQ+ communityHow a childhood camcorder led to my big queer Muslim Tribeca filmEdmund White, queer literature trailblazer, dead at 85Air Force Academy cadets denied commissions because they're transgenderJade and crowd chant 'F**k you' J.K. How a childhood camcorder led to my big queer Muslim Tribeca film
Below is an opinion piece from Akbar Hamid, the star and co-producer of Poreless, a short film screening June 7 at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. The description: "A fabulous, queer Muslim beauty entrepreneur must figure out how to compete in a Shark Tank-like product pitch contest after suffering an untimely allergic reaction."Ive always believed that when you decide something is meant for you when you commit to it fully theres no limit to whats possible. Some may call it delusion, but I call it vision. And that belief, that so-called delusion, is what carried me to this moment: my very first lead role, my first time producing a film, Poreless and our premiere at the Tribeca Festival.I hope my journey reminds people especially those who have ever felt on the outside that it can be done. That you can step into a dream, even if it looks nothing like the path you were told to take. If I can do this, then so can you.My journey to acting didnt begin on a film set it started in a living room in Karachi, Pakistan, behind a camcorder, in my mothers heels and pearls.Creating and bringing Poreless to life has been a full-circle, soul-deep moment a reclamation of identity, joy, and voice. For so long, I felt like I lived at the margins of my culture, my religion, my community. As a queer, Muslim, South Asian kid, I learned early that to survive, I had to hide the parts of me that didnt fit. I rejected the very identities that shaped me because I believed they had rejected me first. But healing has a funny way of finding you when you're ready. And this beautiful, absurd comedy written by Fawzia Mirza and Harris Doran became that portal. Poreless centers around a queer Muslim beauty founder whos spent his life hiding himself, only to discover that he was never the problem not the allergic reaction, not the imperfect skin, not the queerness, not the faith. And in many ways, thats my story too.We live in a world that often forgets how to listen but comedy can cut through the noise. It disarms, it illuminates, and most importantly, it connects. I believe in comedy not just as entertainment, but as a radical tool for truth-telling, for belonging, and for making space where there was once silence. My love for storytelling was always there, simmering. As a child, I made home movies with my brothers my middle brother was the director, I was the star. We did our own version of My Fair Lady, and yes, I was Eliza Doolittle. I wore a wig, pearls, and delivered that iconic shoe-throwing scene with Oscar-worthy flair. I starred in school plays from Fantastic Mr. Fox to Puss in Boots and once, as Snow White. Acting and storytelling lived in my bones. But growing up as a boy in a conservative South Asian Muslim household, that creative spark was never encouraged. So I buried it like so many of us do. I poured myself into other kinds of storytelling: building a career in brand marketing, launching global campaigns, and later, even founding a Web3 gaming company aimed at disrupting representation in the metaverse. We made history with the first-ever Metaverse Pride bringing new narratives and avatars to life for a community that had never seen themselves in that space.Still, there was a voice inside me saying, youre not done.Three years ago, I confided in my friend and mentor, Fawzia Mirza, that I had a dream to act, to create, to tell stories that could change lives. With her encouragement, and the support of Harris Doran, I quietly began training. I studied, I listened, I learned. And then they wrote Poreless. [Doran also directed the film.] For me. A gift, a challenge, a calling. To be able to star in and co-produce a film that is breaking boundaries for queer Muslim representation and doing it through comedy, not trauma is one of the greatest honors of my life. This is the kind of work I want to do. These are the stories I want to tell. Stories that say: You are not broken. You do not have to choose between parts of yourself. You are allowed to take up space, to be absurd, to be joyful, to be seen. And above all, you are already enough allergic reaction, flawed skin, and all.Watch a clip from Poreless below.

Lesbian Dating Etiquette: Dos and Donts
Special to Lesbian.comNavigating the world of lesbian dating can be both exciting and daunting, especially for those new to the experience. Like any dating scenario, there are certain etiquette guidelines and unspoken rules that can help ensure a smooth and respectful experience for all parties involved. In this blog post, well explore some essential DOs and DONTs of gay romance etiquette.Dos You Should ConsiderBe Authentic: Embrace your true self and dont try to be someone youre not. Authenticity is attractive and fosters trust and intimacy in a relationship. Share your interests, passions, and values, and encourage your partner to do the same. For example, if you are a passionate breeder of autoflower seeds, share some interesting information about your occupation/hobby with your partner.Respect Boundaries: Every person has their own comfort levels and boundaries when it comes to physical and emotional intimacy. Its crucial to respect these boundaries and never push someone beyond their limits. Communication is key, so be open and honest about your desires and expectations while also being receptive to your partners needs.Be Mindful of Labels: Not everyone in the LGBTQ+ community feels comfortable with specific labels, and preferences can vary greatly. Avoid making assumptions about someones identity or orientation, and be respectful when discussing these topics. If youre unsure, its always better to politely ask for clarification.Embrace Diversity: The lesbian community is beautifully diverse, encompassing individuals from various backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Embrace this diversity and be open to learning about different perspectives and cultures. Avoid stereotyping or making insensitive remarks that could be perceived as offensive.Practice Confidentiality: Respect your partners privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding personal details or the nature of your relationship, unless explicitly given permission to share. Trust is essential in any relationship, and protecting your partners privacy is a vital aspect of building that trust.Be Supportive: Dating can be challenging, and its essential to be a source of support and encouragement for your partner. Offer a listening ear, provide emotional reassurance, and celebrate their successes and accomplishments, both personal and professional.Photo by Katie Treadway on UnsplashDonts You Have to AvoidDont Make Assumptions: Avoid assumptions about gender roles, expectations, or preferences based on preconceived notions or societal stereotypes. Every person is unique, and their desires and boundaries should be respected without judgment.Dont Out Someone Without Their Consent: Outing someone without their explicit consent is a severe violation of trust and privacy. Respect your partners right to share or not share their identity on their own terms and in their own time.Dont Pressure or Rush: Dating and building a relationship should happen at a comfortable pace for both parties. Never pressure your partner into making decisions or taking steps theyre not ready for, whether its physical intimacy, meeting friends or family, or any other milestone.Dont Ignore Red Flags: While its essential to be respectful and mindful of your partners boundaries, its equally important to recognize and address any red flags or unhealthy behaviors. Trust your instincts, and dont ignore warning signs that could potentially lead to an abusive or toxic situation.Dont Compare or Compete: Every relationship is unique, and comparing your experience to others or engaging in competitive behavior is counterproductive. Focus on cultivating your own connection and trust the journey you and your partner are on.Dont Be Dismissive of Experiences: The LGBTQ+ community has faced numerous challenges and discrimination throughout history. Be sensitive to these experiences and avoid dismissing or minimizing the struggles and hardships your partner or others may have faced.Remember, every relationship is unique, and adapting the aforementioned guidelines to your specific situation with care and consideration is essential. Dont be afraid to open up to a new person and allow yourself to get to know them with all their beauty and flaws. As you build a relationship, embrace each others hobbies, even the extravagant ones involving cannabis, and let platforms like Barneys Farm USA help you nurture them! The post Lesbian Dating Etiquette: Dos and Donts first appeared on Lesbian.com.

Mastering Weed Control: Proven Strategies for a Lush, Weed-Free Garden
As you sip your morning coffee, the image of the tranquil garden comes to mind. However, upon stepping outside, all serenity is brought to an end as the sight of weeds and crabgrass violently penetrating your plants welcomes you.You have given everything- from removing them to spraying weed killers, but the pesky plants keep returning. Most people have encountered this problem in their lives. Every gardener, regardless of their skill set, faces the continuous battle against weeds. The good news is satisfactory: It is possible to win that battle. You can eliminate unwanted growth by employing proper methods, tools, and timing and convert your garden into a vivid, lush paradise. This isnt about harsh chemicals or quick solutions but mastering effective weed control with sustainable strategies.Continue reading to find out how you can achieve a beautiful oasis devoid of weeds.Young beautiful female florist taking care of flowers. Close up photo of hands. If you wish to have a complete weed control solution, Integrated Weed Management (IWM) is one of the best options. IWM does not restrict you to only one approach; instead, it motivates you to integrate different approaches for a lasting, sustainable result. It works best if you begin with prevention; planting certified seeds and using clean tools will help keep unwanted weed seeds out of your garden. Then, incorporate tilling, mowing and mulching.Along with the physical control methods, there are many other methods for new-age gardens. These include more artistic practices such as dense competitive planting or soil enrichment. When needed, chemical control can be applied judiciously by carefully selecting the right herbicide and following the instructions on the label. For those looking for expert guidance or support in implementing these diverse strategies, professional weed control services play a crucial role. Due to their expertise and appropriate equipment, these specialists ensure every component under IWM is appropriately implemented. Therefore, with the aid of these experts and integrating various methods, you can minimize your weed problems while simultaneously developing a flourishing garden that is full of life and healthy for the entire season.2. MulchingAn alternative, easy-to-use and effective method for controlling weeds is mulching. Applying a thick layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark, straw, or even compost, offers a natural barrier that suffocates sunlight from reaching weed seeds. This lack of light will slow down the weeds ability to germinate as well as grow. Mulching is not only effective in weed growth prevention but also acts as a moisture and temperature regulator and organic matter in the soil. After some time, soil health will improve and fend off weed growth, which will help the plants. To ensure it works best, apply mulch evenly 2-3 inches thick, but dont pile it directly on stems. Incorporating mulching into your gardening routine will beautify it while significantly reducing the need for relentless weeding.3. Proper Watering TechniquesFarmer spraying vegetables in the garden with herbicides. Man in a black apron.Watering strategies may be the last thing when it comes to controlling weeds, but they are more interlinked than you would think. Drenching less frequently but deeply encourages the root systems of your plants to penetrate deeper into the soil, which, in turn, helps the plants become stronger and more resilient to stressors, like drought. Additionally, this method makes it more difficult for shallow-root weeds to thrive because the surface soil becomes drier and less hospitable. Timing plays just as much of a pivotal role. Early mornings when temperatures are cooler and evaporation is at a minimum are ideal for watering, as it also reduces water waste. Moreover, strategically watering the plant bases roots using drip irrigation systems helps maintain dry foliage, reducing the chances of fungal diseases, while keeping drier soil at the root zone, which inhibits weed seed germination.Wiser and mindful watering approaches like these allow for more favorable circumstances for plants while simultaneously making life harder for weeds. The result is a low-maintenance, healthier garden that uses less water.4. Mechanical Weed ControlMechanical weed control is a practical, hands-on method for managing weeds without relying on chemicals. Amid this approach, weeds are removed using hands and other tools such as hoes and hand weeders. It tends to be more effective when weeds are removed frequently and, most importantly, when the weeds are still young. Additionally, the weed must be pulled out completely; otherwise, the weed will have the ability to regenerate. Mowing or cutting off the flowering parts of taller weeds greatly reduces their ability to spread. This action enhances the aesthetic appeal of the garden while restricting new weeds from coming in unchecked. Also, this method, combined with other forms of garden maintenance, makes managing the garden easier while preventing weeds from taking over. Ultimately, removing the weeds repeatedly weakens the weed seed bank system within the soil and, with time, the garden requires less upkeep every season. In time, the balance of the garden ecosystem gets enhanced, and the effort expended is rewarded with a garden brimming with greenery.ConclusionYou now hold the power to transform your garden into the lush, weed-free oasis youve always envisioned. By combining smart strategies like Integrated Weed Management, mulching, proper watering, and mechanical control, youll not only suppress weeds but also foster a healthier, more resilient garden. Remember, this isnt a one-time fixits a sustainable practice that rewards consistency. With each effort, youre not just fighting weedsyoure nurturing a thriving ecosystem. So, take control, stay committed, and enjoy the satisfaction of a beautiful, weed-free garden that reflects your care and dedication. Your ideal garden is well within reachstart reclaiming it today. The post Mastering Weed Control: Proven Strategies for a Lush, Weed-Free Garden first appeared on Lesbian.com.

Mental Health Benefits of Embracing Your Queer Identity
Embracing your queer identity is not just a step toward authenticity, but it also has profound mental health benefits. By living openly as yourself, you can experience greater emotional well-being, reduced anxiety, and a stronger sense of belonging. Lets explore how embracing your queer identity can positively impact your mental health.Understanding the Importance of Embracing Your Queer IdentityThe process of self-acceptance begins by recognizing who you are. For many queer individuals, this journey is both challenging and liberating. Society often imposes rigid gender norms and sexual orientation expectations that leave little room for deviation. However, when individuals embrace their queer identity, they experience profound mental health benefits. For those identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer, accepting ones identity is an act of self-love and respect. It reduces internalized stigma, anxiety, and depression, which are common among those who feel torn between their identity and societal expectations. By embracing who they truly are, individuals create a foundation for emotional wellness, allowing them to face life with greater confidence. The Role of Acceptance in Mental HealthOne of the most powerful benefits of embracing your identity is the release of shame and self-criticism. Internalized homophobia or transphobia can contribute to negative self-perception and inhibit personal growth. Accepting your identity, however, promotes self-esteem, resilience, and emotional balance.Research shows that queer individuals who accept their identity and feel affirmed are less likely to experience chronic stress, depression, and suicidal ideation. In contrast, hiding or suppressing ones identity often leads to anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and isolation. The Impact of Building a Supportive CommunityEmbracing your queer identity also means finding a community of people who understand and support you. Building relationships with others who share similar experiences helps reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness. Being part of a supportive network can be especially crucial for queer individuals who face rejection or discrimination from family, friends, or society at large.Websites and platforms like The Queer Country Club, a queer dating site, offer more than just opportunities for romantic connections. These spaces provide an opportunity for queer individuals to meet women who love women who understand their struggles and joys. The Healing Power of Vulnerability and AuthenticityEmbracing your queer identity requires vulnerability the courage to be yourself despite societal pressures. This authenticity has powerful mental health benefits. When individuals allow themselves to be open about their identity, they create space for emotional clarity and growth. Living authentically also fosters deeper, more meaningful connections with others, which can improve overall well-being.Being true to yourself doesnt always happen easily. It requires confronting societal norms, overcoming fear of rejection, and embracing the uncertainties that come with being authentic. However, the process is incredibly liberating. As people grow more comfortable with who they are, they experience a reduction in internal conflict and emotional distress.Overcoming Societal Stigma and Building ConfidenceAlthough embracing a queer identity brings numerous mental health benefits, societal stigma remains a significant obstacle. Discrimination, prejudice, and a lack of understanding can create emotional pain for many queer individuals. However, society is slowly becoming more inclusive, and visibility is on the rise, which can help reduce stigma over time.As queer individuals gain representation in various sectors from media to politics the mental health benefits of embracing a queer identity become more apparent. Increased visibility fosters understanding and promotes acceptance, creating safer spaces for self-expression and reducing the mental health challenges associated with marginalization.ConclusionIn conclusion, embracing your queer identity has profound mental health benefits. It fosters self-acceptance, enhances community connections, and promotes authenticity. The mental health benefits of embracing ones queer identity are essential for living a fulfilling life.By rejecting shame and embracing authenticity, individuals can reduce anxiety, depression, and isolation, and move toward greater emotional resilience and happiness. In a world that can sometimes be hostile toward queer individuals, embracing your true self is a powerful act of self-care that can lead to healing and personal transformationThe post Mental Health Benefits of Embracing Your Queer Identity appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

Ways to Build Meaningful Friendships in Online Spaces
Ways to Build Meaningful Friendships in Online SpacesMaking friends isnt always easyespecially as we get older, move to new places, or find ourselves navigating the world during isolating times. Social circles shift, life gets busier, and sometimes the people around us just dont get us, especially if were part of a marginalized group like the LGBTQ community. But something interesting has been happening in the digital world: people are using online spaces not just to pass time, but to find real, lasting connections. These virtual platforms are becoming places where friendships bloomacross cities, countries, and even continents. For LGBTQ individuals in particular, online platforms offer a chance to connect safely, build support networks, and form friendships that feel just as meaningful as those made offline. When local environments arent affirming, these online connections can offer something powerful: belonging.Whether youre just starting out or looking to deepen your digital connections, here are some practical and thoughtful ways to build genuine friendships in online spaces.1. Choose the Right PlatformThe first step to forming real friendships online is picking the right place to connect. Not every platform is built for deep conversation. Some are focused on followers and filters, while others are built around shared interests, real-time communication, and respectful conversation.Emerald Chat, a video chat platform that helps users make friends online based on common interests, has become a popular space for LGBTQ individuals looking to connect authentically without the pressure of traditional social media. It offers a safe, moderated environment where people can engage in meaningful conversations, face-to-face, in real time. When exploring platforms, look for ones that offer:Interest-based matchingStrong moderation toolsOptions for both public and private conversationsInclusive community guidelinesThese features help set the tone for more genuine and respectful interactions.2. Be Intentional With How You InteractOnline conversations can easily turn into aimless scrolling or surface-level small talk. If youre looking to build meaningful friendships, it helps to be intentional with how you show up in digital spaces. Here are some ways to do that:Start with curiosity: Ask open-ended questions that invite real conversation, not just yes or no answers.Listen actively: Its easy to multitask during online chats, but giving someone your full attention shows that you care.Match the other persons energy: Some people want to keep things light, while others are ready for deep conversation. Tune in and adjust accordingly. For many LGBTQ people, intentional conversations online often fill a gap left by a lack of local community or family support. These spaces offer a chance to be heardand to hear otherswithout needing to explain or defend your identity.3. Find or Create Safe SpacesFeeling safe is the foundation for meaningful connection. Without it, its hard to be yourselfand being yourself is key to building real friendships.Online, there are countless LGBTQ-friendly spaces where you can find support, camaraderie, and community. These include:Discord servers dedicated to queer topicsReddit threads or subreddits like r/lgbt or r/queerplatonicPrivate Facebook groups or Slack communitiesOnline meetups or hobby-based forums with LGBTQ tagsIf you cant find a space that feels right, consider creating one. Whether its a group chat, a private server, or a weekly Zoom hangout, setting the tone from the start (with rules, moderation, and clear expectations) can turn a group of strangers into a true support network.4. Show Up ConsistentlyFriendshipwhether offline or onlinegrows through consistent interaction. One deep conversation can spark a connection, but its the regular check-ins and shared experiences that help those connections stick.Try:Scheduling weekly video calls or game nightsJoining recurring events or chats in online communitiesSetting calendar reminders to check in with people youve metFor LGBTQ folks, especially those in rural areas or in unsupportive environments, these recurring online interactions can feel like lifelinesproviding regular affirmation, understanding, and a sense of belonging.5. Move Beyond Small TalkSurface-level conversation has its place, but real friendships require depth. When you feel comfortable and safe, dont be afraid to open up.SomeQ ideas to take conversations deeper:Share a personal story or challenge youve faced.Ask someone how theyre really doingnot just hows it going?Reflect on shared values, hopes, or fears. For LGBTQ individuals, talking about identity, coming out, family dynamics, or mental health struggles can be a powerful way to build intimacy. Of course, trust should develop naturallynever pressure anyone (or feel pressured yourself) to share more Satan theyre ready for. But when the time feels right, leaning into real talk can turn casual online acquaintances into chosen family.6. Be a Supportive FriendBeing a good friend online looks a lot like being a good friend in personit just might come in different forms.Ways to offer support:Celebrate their wins: A job interview, a creative project, a good day. Be there for the lows: A breakup, a tough week, or just feeling off.Share helpful resources: Articles, podcasts, or even just a relatable meme.Respect their boundaries: Sometimes support means giving someone space. For LGBTQ people, having someone who gets it can make all the difference. The ability to vent without being judgedor to share queer joy without having to explain itcan be incredibly validating. Conclusion: Real Friendships Start With Real ConnectionsOnline spaces arent just places to pass timethey can be the start of some of the most meaningful relationships youll ever have. These platforms offer the opportunity to connect across backgrounds and time zones, with people who share your values and understand your journey. For LGBTQ individuals and anyone looking for authentic connection, these digital environments can feel like a breath of fresh airplaces where you dont have to shrink yourself or pretend to fit in. Whether youre exchanging stories in a chatroom, bonding over a shared playlist, or having a deep late-night conversation, remember this: some of the best friendships begin with simply showing up and being real. You dont have to wait for the perfect moment or say the perfect thing. Just reach out. The right connection might be just a few clicks away. The post Ways to Build Meaningful Friendships in Online Spaces appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

How Stigma Around Sexual Health Checks Adds to LGBTQ+ Mental Health Stress
Stigma has long weighed on the LGBTQ+ community. It becomes even more harmful when it touches on sexual health. The pressure of dealing with this stigma makes mental health struggles even harder to manage.LGBTQ+ people already face many stressors, like discrimination and fear of rejection. Worrying about being judged during sexual health checks only makes these struggles heavier. This extra stress makes it harder for them to care for their mental and physical health.Avoidance of Needed Health ServicesAvoiding health services might feel like a way to escape the stress. Some choose to stay home out of fear of mistreatment. Skipping a sexual health check may seem like the safer option at the moment, but it doesnt solve the problem.Over time, skipping care builds even more worry. People might ask themselves if they risk their health or miss early signs of problems. This silent worry grows in the back of their minds, adding another layer of stress. The cycle of avoiding care and worrying about what they might be missing can make people feel stuck with no clear way forward.Fear of Being Judged During Health ChecksWalking into a clinic can feel like walking into a spotlight. Many LGBTQ+ people worry about how staff will treat them when they go in for a sexual health check. They may worry about rude questions, disapproving looks, or being spoken to in ways that make them feel small or out of place. This fear doesnt just happen during the visit. It often starts days before the appointment, filling their mind with worry. The stress can build up so much that it feels easier to cancel the visit than face the risk of being judged. When this happens again and again, it adds constant pressure to their mental health, making it hard to feel safe when seeking medical help.Bad Past Experiences That StickExperiences from the past can shape how people feel about seeking care today. Many LGBTQ+ people carry memories of health visits where they felt unwelcome or disrespected. Some have heard careless comments about their identity, while others have noticed cold treatment from health workers who didnt seem to care. These moments leave a lasting impact. Even if the next health worker is kind, the memory of past treatment makes every visit risky. People start to expect poor treatment, even when it might not happen. This keeps their stress levels high and builds fear that doesnt go away easily.Feeling Alone and MisunderstoodIts hard to deal with stress alone, yet thats precisely what many LGBTQ+ people experience. They might not have anyone they trust to talk about their health worries. This is especially true for younger people or those living in less accepting communities.Feeling like no one understands what they are going through makes their mental health struggles even harder. It can feel like they are carrying the worlds weight alone. Without open and safe conversations about sexual health, these feelings of isolation can grow stronger and push people further into stress and sadness.Extra Pressure on Top of Other StressorsLife already feels heavy for many LGBTQ+ people. They face unfair treatment in schools, workplaces, and even in their own families. Worrying about how they will be treated during sexual health checks just adds more pressure on top of everything else. This added stress makes daily life even more challenging to manage. Its not only a single bad visit or comment; its the accumulation over time that takes a toll. Carrying all this pressure can wear down a persons mental health, leaving them tired and overwhelmed, and vulnerable to long-term mental health issues. The Need for Safe and Supportive Health ServicesUnderstanding and addressing LGBTQ+ needs in healthcare is crucial; its a responsibility we all share. Creating health services that feel safe and respectful can ease much of the stress associated with stigma.Clinics and health workers knowledgeable about LGBTQ+ needs can help people feel welcome. Simple actions like using the correct language, showing kindness, and treating every person with respect make a big difference. Its up to all of us to ensure these actions are taken. When health services feel safe, people are more likely to get the care they need. They wont have to carry the extra stress of worrying about poor treatment. This can improve mental and physical health, giving people a better chance to stay healthy and feel supported.Final WordsStigma should never stop anyone from looking after their health. LGBTQ+ people deserve care that feels safe, kind, and free from judgment. When health workers and communities work together, they can help make things better. It all starts with treating everyone with the respect they deserve. Lets strive to create a healthcare environment that is empathetic, supportive, and truly committed to meeting LGBTQ+ needs. The post How Stigma Around Sexual Health Checks Adds to LGBTQ+ Mental Health Stress appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

Pridepay and Allies Driving LGBTQIA+ Progress
The importance of allyship for the LGBTQIA+ communityPride events arent just a great way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, while simultaneously remembering both the progress made and the challenges ahead, but also wonderful opportunities to unite. This is when allies to the community can step forward and express their support.Such allies can come from across society and help demonstrate the power of inclusivity. This is one of the values of non-profit group Pride In London, which holds up visibility, equality and unity as priorities the latter is why garnering support from so many allies is important. Why allies matterFor instance, Pride In London runs a Pride in the City initiative, which is a strategy dedicated towards fostering greater allyship between the LGBTQIA+ community and the business world. This goes beyond symbolic gestures and is instead about securing lasting commitments from a range of business and major employers from across several sectors with members including WeWork, Cisco, Lidl, Just Eat and Deutsche. This kind of allyship goes beyond symbolism and shows of unity, with the ability to deliver real-world change also palpable. London in Pride has launched its Unity Fund which allows allies to make donations that provide valuable support to a range of LGBTQIA+ aligned charitable causes. Standing side by side, with prideIn this way, corporate sponsorships can make a real difference for the LGBTQIA+ community. Unlike other sponsorship packages, these deals are less about brand recognition or other corporate goals instead this can be an important step forward in terms of allyship.Such allies can arise from where they are least expected. In 2025, Pridepay the LGBTQIA+ first app from payment processing firm Cardaq will become the headline sponsor for Pride in London. Payments processing, and financial services in general, is not known for its LGBTQIA+ alignment which is why such a sponsorship is important.Crucially, this sponsorship extends beyond branding and towards something more symbiotic. Pridepay will provide several engaging initiatives throughout the celebrations, such as pop-up lounges, branded installations, and immersive experiences, while also hosting contactless Tap for Change donation stations will be installed, allowing attendees to contribute directly to LGBTQIA+ causes through contactless payments. A QR Code Treasure Hunt will encourage engagement by leading participants through various Pridepay touchpoints, rewarding exploration and education. Additionally, a Co-Branded Pledge Wall will invite attendees to share personal affirmations and commitments to identity, growth, and support.Pridepays Vision for Its CommunityLooking ahead, Pridepay is committed to building far more than just a financial platformit aims to create a vibrant, inclusive digital community. Beyond payments, this innovative startup plans to introduce the Pride ID and the upcoming Pride for Pridepay social app, giving users access to a unique ecosystem where identity, connection, and contribution are at the core.Members will be able to engage in forums, write personal blogs, explore others profiles, and participate in exclusive events. The platform also plans to support charitable giving in an interactive and rewarding way, including donor rankings and special recognition within user profiles.Additionally, users will benefit from community-driven features that encourage self-expression and peer connection, fostering a safe and welcoming space for all. In parallel, Pridepay will establish strong partnerships with LGBTQIA+ friendly merchants, allowing users to enjoy location-based rewards and discounts simply by using their Pride ID.Altogether, these features reflect Pridepays mission to empower its community not only financially, but also socially and culturally. The post Pridepay and Allies Driving LGBTQIA+ Progress appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

A Look At The Different Types of Child Custody
Divorcing couples usually have a lot to go through. There are assets to divide up like property and bank accounts. Spousal support may also come up. Child custody is something else you may be dealing with. This means youre probably going to need to know things like the key differences between joint vs 50/50 custody. These are only two examples of child custody terms, there are several more that may pop up during your divorce. Were examining different types of child custody so youre a little better prepared when its time to decide on a parenting plan. The Various Types of Child CustodyChild custody is typically divided into a couple of categories, physical and legal. From there, the type of custody arrangement can be further classified. Already feeling a little overwhelmed?Take a deep breath. This feeling is normal. You already have a lot on your plate with the divorce. However, at least you can make child custody discussions a bit easier when you have a basic understanding of the different types.Differences Between Legal and Physical CustodyEven though the terms can vary by state, legal and physical custody are the two most commonly used. No, these terms arent interchangeable. Each one has a different legal definition. Adding to your possible confusion, each of these types of child custody arrangements can be further broken down into two parts. So, what is sole legal custody? The parent with sole legal custody is responsible for making all decisions about the childs education, health, and even religion. In other words, if youre not the parent with sole legal custody, youre not going to get much of a say in how your child is being raised. However, its different with joint legal custody. Both parents have an equal say in pretty much every decision involving their shared child. Now, moving on to physical custody. If you have sole physical custody, your child is spending the majority or all of their time with you. The other parent may have visitation rights or none at all. You can probably guess what joint physical custody means. Both parents have equal time with their shared child. Who makes the decisions regarding the childs life? This is when you refer back to the terms of your legal custody agreement.Full Child CustodyRemember when we mentioned states can use different legal terms, this is one of them. Full child custody is pretty much the same as sole legal custody. Whats the primary difference? Well, there really isnt any.The reason states often discard the term full child custody comes down to how the phrase sounds. Sole legal custody simply sounds better, at least in the legal sense. The parent awarded full custody is the one responsible for making all of the decisions.50/50 Child CustodyIf youre yelling its the same as joint legal custody, youre correct! Once again, some states simply feel using the phrase joint legal custody sounds better than shared child custody. Both parents have an equal say in their childs life. Time spent with the shared child is also typically divided pretty evenly between the two parents.Typically, the family court prefers to see parents work out a shared custody agreement. Children, especially younger ones, tend to benefit from having both parents present in their lives. However, if one parent is deemed unfit, sole legal custody can be seen as the better option.Primary Child CustodyYep, this is another way of referring to child custody. Tennessee is an example of a state using the phrase primary custody in place of sole physical custody. The parent who has the child the majority of the time is the primary care provider. However, this doesnt necessarily mean that the parent is also solely responsible for making all decisions about the childs welfare. You can have an agreement where the child spends the majority of their time at one residence but both parents have an equal say in their upbringing.Partial and Split CustodyThe other two types of child custody arrangements are partial and split. The parent who spends less time with their child has partial custody. If divorcing parents have multiple children, split custody may be an option. This arrangement allows for both parents to potentially have custody of one or more of their children. For example, one child may live primarily with you and the other with your former spouse. What Works Best for Your FamilyChild custody can be a touchy subject. Parents typically dont like being left out of their childrens lives. Before settling on a type of child custody, look at what works best for your family. Dont forget, you can always revisit a custody arrangement if something pops up. The post A Look At The Different Types of Child Custody appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

  • Randy Barbato And Fenton Bailey Charles Blow On Late To The Party Coming Out Later In Life
    WWW.OUT.COM
Charles Blow: Coming out later in life is a 'restoration of the soul'
For decades, Hollywood has insisted that coming-out stories are synonymous to coming-of-age stories. But those are very different journeys for many people, and a larger-than-ever aging demographic in the LGBTQ+ community must navigate those courageous and complicated experiences which some might even call "messy" without any playbook, or even visibility, in mainstream media.A new docuspecial airing on ABC, Late to the Party: Coming Out Later in Life, explores the power, the problems, and the perseverance that come with not giving up on embracing your most authentic self.Charles Blow, a former columnist at The New York Times and bestselling author, faced those challenges firsthand as someone who only came out as bisexual in his 40s. In Late to the Party, Blow is the glue connecting the different stories explored in the docuspecial."I wrote a memoir in which I made sure that I disclosed everything about myself, all of my truth," Blow tells Out. "It was the first time that I had done that to the rest of the world. When I was on tour, signing books, it became a pattern that I'd see someone kind of cagey, walking around, waiting to make sure that they were last in line. I always knew what was happening."He explains, "It would always be an older person, sometimes married, who would say things like, 'I'm going tell my wife tonight,' or 'I've never told this to anyone.' Last time I was signing books, a guy slipped me a note that read, 'I came out, and my wife and I worked through it, and we're still together. Thank you.'""It dawned on me that there were so many of these stories and these people. They all felt alone. They all felt that they were out of time and had missed the window to do this," Blow recalls. For Blow, Late to the Party is very personal. He says, "I call it a reclamation of honor. This is a personal journey towards that truth for a restoration of the soul. You have to do this because you can't leave this world having never been who you really were.""The saddest thing that I ever see are people who I know are closeted, and who pass away," he continues. "This idea that everyone comes out when they're teenagers That's new. Two-thirds of young adults come out when they're teenagers. But when you look at how that chart goes down to the older people, only a quarter of them came out when they were teenagers. It wasn't a thing that happened."Blow also thinks that younger audiences can learn a lot from these stories, noting that a project like Late to the Party allows them "to see that what you did as a young person did not happen for others, and how complicated that was for them, and how the time in which they came of age is so different from yours.""The idea of history in the LGBTQ+ community can be complicated," he observes. "We don't always honor that history. Not only of the out people who did amazing things, but also the history of fear and intimidation and isolation that kept people from doing things, kept them from coming out."Randy Barbato, the Emmy-winning cofounder of World of Wonder (alongside Fenton Bailey), served as a producer in Late to the Party and discussed the project with Out."It's a little bit of a clich, but the value of visibility, particularly now, when we have this dark cloud over Pride Month It is inspiring," Barbato explains. "There's been so much progress for the past two decades, but here we are, finding ourselves in a moment of fear and uncertainty again."The producer recalls meeting Blow and hearing the idea of creating something like this docuspecial while working on a documentary with musician Big Freedia."We put together a pitch document and brought in the Emmy Award-winning director Jeremy Simmons, who's an amazing gay filmmaker. We went out there, and ABC News was super receptive and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process."ABC News were partners from the ground up," Barbato explains. "A lot of times, with our docs, we can't find partners. So we make them, and then we find someone later on. But that wasn't the case with this project."While recognizing that Late to the Party focuses on people who had to wait before coming out of the closet due to a variety of circumstances, Barbato zooms out and outlines how the concept of arriving late to a "party" can be much broader and more universal."You're late to the party! Late to the party is such a kind of broad idea," the producer notes. "It's late to becoming your authentic self. Everybody can relate to that, which is why I feel like these stories are super important. We're so busy identifying ourselves and our stories for our own, when in fact they're everyone's stories."When asked about docuspecial airing on a broadcast network like ABC, during Pride Month, at a time when politicians are actively targeting the LGBTQ+ community, Barbato admits that he is "seeing it become a very legitimate threat." Nonetheless, he adds that "World of Wonder is doubling down on what we do, and that's what we have to contribute.""We have to get rid of this dark cloud over Pride so we can bring the rainbow back," Barbato says.Late to the Party can resonate with straight people as well, Blow argues, showing them that they "already know these people." He adds, "This is an aunt you have. this is an elder in the neighborhood. You know these people, and you love these people."Blow says that he's heard all kinds of coming-out stories over the years, and notes how these individuals often display "a calming, adolescent nature to them. It's like they're being born again, like children," he explains. "It's so endearing to see all the gayness and all the things you would expect from a 16 year old Only this person is 60 years old."When asked if he'd consider turning Late to the Party into a docuseries with several episodes and seasons, Blow is elated. "From your mouth to god's ears Is that how they say it? Yes!" he teases.Late to the Party: Coming Out Later in Life premieres Friday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The docuspecial will also be available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu starting on Saturday, June 7.See on Instagram

  • American Singer Fletcher Performs Live On Stage During A Concert At The Tempodrom On April 20 2024 In Berlin Germany
    WWW.OUT.COM
Fletcher fell in love with a 'Boy,' so why is she so sad about it?
Being bisexual should be celebrated, so why does Fletcher seem so down?Queer singer Cari Fletcher (who performs under her last name, Fletcher) released a new song, "Boy," and announced a new album titled Would You Still Love Me If You Really Knew Me?, set to be released July 18. She's also opened up about falling in love with and being in a relationship with a man. So why does this new era feel more like an apology than a relationship announcement?I'm not bisexual, so I could be wrong. To me, "Boy" doesn't sound like an empowering bi or queer anthem; it sounds like Fletcher feels guilty about her feelings for a man and wants to apologize for them."I had no choice, I kissed a boy," she sadly sings over even sadder guitars. She seems to be lamenting that she couldn't stop it from happening, and implying that if she did have a choice, she wouldn't have done it.The song evokes sympathy, not celebration."And it wasn't on your bingo card this year / Well, it wasn't on mine," she adds, even though she's explicitly identified as queer and not a lesbian since at least 2021. That year, when a fan asked her on Instagram if she was lesbian or bi, Fletcher responed, "I would say I identify as queer," and "it's about energy. But I am attracted to strong feminine energy, which just so happens to more likely than not be women."This isn't a JoJo Siwa situation where Fletcher previously identified as a lesbian before falling for a man. Fletcher has always been queer and open that she's attracted to people of all genders. What exactly is Fletcher mourning? Is she grieving her loss of community or status? She is still just as queer as she ever was, and in the vast majority of the world, being with a man only raises her status. Of course, there will always be some biphobic members of the queer community, but there aren't as many biphobes are there are bisexuals.Fletcher is far from being alone in being a queer woman attracted to or dating a man. Many other queer singers like Dove Cameron, Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus have all proudly declared themselves queer and are currently in committed relationships with men. Those singers' relationships with men didn't evoke the same type of feelings among their queer fans that "Boy" has for Fletcher. But none of them released a whole song and album mournfully declaring that they "had no choice" but to fall for the men they love.Queer singer Kesha just released a song last month titled "Boy Crazy." It's a fun and sexy celebration of her sexuality. There's no hint of sadness that she, as a queer woman, goes crazy for men. And there shouldn't be.See on InstagramIn reality, Fletcher's community didn't get smaller. It got bigger. Now, more women can relate to her music than ever before. This is even true among queer women.According to a 2024 Gallup poll, 57 percent of all adults who identify as LGBTQ+ identify as bisexual, versus only 15 percent identifying as lesbians. The Pew Research Center reports that five percent of the overall female population describes themselves as bisexual, versus just two percent describing themselves as lesbians. It also reports that for people of all genders under 30, 11 percent identify as bisexual, versus four percent who identify as gay or lesbian. Some in the lesbian community also see the launch and timing of the song as tone deaf.In the song, Cari sings that she's "hiding out in Northern California / Where nobody knows who I was before / Where they won't judge me in the morning."This sounds like she's been enjoying spending time living a life where no one knew she was into women, where she's seen for who she is now: a woman dating a man.She even deleted all her Instagram posts from before this month, wiping away years of her personal public history of sapphic singing and dykey dancing. To some fans, this sends the message that that was the old Fletcher, and the new Fletcher is all about boys.To some listeners, releasing a song about the fear of being persecuted for being a woman who is in love with a man during Pride month also feels somewhat insulting in a world where attacks on same-sex relationships are growing. This past January, Fletcher might've felt nervous to "come out" about her relationship with a man. Meanwhile, lesbians were rushing to get married and worrying that Donald Trump and other conservative proponents of Project 2025 would soon overturn the Supreme Court case that allows us to marry each other. The problem isn't that Fletcher is in love with a man, or that she's singing about it. Anyone who criticizes Fletcher for "queerbaiting" or says she's "not queer enough" is flat-out wrong and foolish. But why does she have to be so sad about the situation? In an interview with Them, Fletcher said that she was "scared" to come out about her relationship. "Im cycling through some of the same feelings I felt when I came out 10 years ago of shame and guilt and fear and anxiety and wondering how people are going to react and going to receive me," she said. "For there to be this much fear in a community that I should belong in is a very real feeling that I have. I acknowledge it and I see that thats there."With "Boy," it feels like she's painted herself into a corner with a self-fulfilling prophecy that her fans would be upset she is in love with a man. If she's so sad and scared about it, how can she not expect her fans to be sad and scared as well? The only things her fans know about her relationship is what she is telling them, and she is sending a strong message that being a queer woman who loves a man is a tragedy.By releasing a song that seems to focus on self-pity and fear, it almost feels like Fletcher isn't proud to be herself, and that's not the unapologetic Cari that her fans have come to know and love.

  • Symone Drag Artist And Model Attends Celebration For 1000th Performance Rupauls Drag Race Live Las Vegas Nevada March 2025
    WWW.OUT.COM
Symone is ready to get louder and gayer at WorldPride
Symone loves a parade especially at WorldPride. The RuPaul's Drag Race season 13 winner is set to host the WorldPride Parade Viewing Party Saturday at the Hamilton Hotel, which is the 2025 WorldPride Music Festival's official host hotel. The House of Avalon member is excited to celebrate at the global queer gathering, particularly in in Washington, D.C., as a show of LGBTQ+ joy and might in the nation's capital. And Symone is also ecstatic to watch the festival's powerhouse lineup of LGBTQ+ and ally talent, among them RuPaul, who will be spinning a DJ set.Ahead, Symone discusses her WorldPride plans and the message she hope it sends in an era of renewed anti-LGBTQ+ attacks. Attending WorldPride DC? Don't miss Symone's viewing party, which she will cohost with fellow Drag Race alum (and WorldPride performer) Derrick Berry. The viewing party will be held at the Hamilton Hotel's restaurant, Via Sophia. More information is available on hamiltonhoteldc.com. And check out the WorldPride Music Festival lineup at worldpride25.com. SymoneGEOFFROY VAN DER HASSELT/AFP via Getty ImagesYou're hosting the WorldPride Parade Viewing Party! Can you tell us what that gig entails and what you'll be looking for in the parade? It entails, you know, first of all, being with my community, which I'm always grateful and happy to be with. And also just I'm excited to see everyone be out and proud, especially now in the capital. I just hope that it's really gay, it's really loud, I hope it's really colorful. I hope it's everything that we are as a community. I'm hoping to just see us being happy and proud in a place that, you know, it probably doesn't feel the most welcoming. ... I hope it just pushes us to be even more loud and more gay and more LGBTQ.What message do you hope that loud and gay and fabulous celebration sends to the Powers That Be that are seeking to oppress us?We're not going anywhere. And like just like it's your country, it's ours too, and this is our capital, just like it's yours. We're just here to have a good time. We're here to spread love, that's it. WorldPride features some of biggest queer stars in the world RuPaul, Cynthia Erivo, Doechii. What does it mean to you to have so much Black queer excellence on display on this world stage? It means the world. It shows me how far we've come. It just makes me feel just so happy and joyous, and I can't imagine what it feels like for other people who need that, who may not be able to be in a space where they can be themselves, or maybe not feel safe to be themselves. To see all these people who persevered with whatever their story is, and to come out and be out loud and proud, it just makes people so happy. Whatever the times may be that we're living through, there's still people out there doing it and that are out there just being themselves and visible and still spreading that love and joy. It's an interesting cultural moment right now. There's this real emergence of Black queer talent and also there's this really reactionary rise in the political world that's seeking to erase, take away the voices of historically marginalized folks. What do you think that says about our culture right now?I think about it all the time 'cause, you know, as far as we've come, obviously we are kind of experiencing a backlash. And I just don't know, there's so many different factors that contribute to that. As much love as we push out, I think it sometimes can be twisted depending on what space you're in. We have our own bubbles, it's really actually kind of scary. But [that love] can be twisted into fear, and I think we're having a real tug of war of which, just not in our country, but just all around the world, of like love and fear. There was just so much happening. ... Maybe [LGBTQ+ progress] was too fast for [many people] or too quick for them. I think human experience is scared of change, and ... they somehow feel like there's no place for them. ... Some people feel like they've been left behind. That's not what it is. It's us just becoming more visible and that doesn't mean that's gonna take away from you in any way. If anything, it just makes us stronger, 'cause it makes us feel like, oh, we're not as different as you, we're people as well. What message do you have for young queer kids in particular who are coming of age right now and and maybe are a little fearful?I would say first and foremost, find a community. I think that's kind of what helped me grow as a younger person, with drag as well, but finding people who got what I was doing and trying to say.I think that'll really help you. There's always a little pocket somewhere. It may not be near you as close as you think, or may not be as far as you think, but there's always some community around you that can help you coming into your own and help you through your journey. ...And look up to the people that give you strength, whether it be a RuPaul or Cynthia [Erivo] or whoever it may be in culture. Find that person and help so that you can learn from them. You have what they did, and hopefully, you can learn and use that for your life. We're all here. In the words of Diana Ross, "If you need me, call me. No matter how far, no matter where you are, darling."Are there any artists you're excited to hear that will bring you joy this WorldPride?Mother [RuPaul] is DJing, so I'm excited to see her. I'm excited to see Cynthia, and I'm also excited to see the local town. I've been to D.C. before, so I have a few girls there that I know, so I'm excited to see them and see what they do for Pride. I'm just excited to see it all. I'm like a little kid in a candy shop. I just love this time of year, and going around and traveling and seeing how everybody celebrates Pride in their own town, so I'm just excited to see.Are there any other projects, upcoming gigs you'd like to mention?I'll be traveling in this summer. I'll be in Chicago. I will be in New York. I'll be back in Toronto, hopefully if everything works out. And I'll be traveling over to the U.S. and overseas and South America. I'll be in Brazil and Chile in August, and I'm learning how to DJ, so look out for me! ... My best friend is Leland, he's kind of my mentor, so he's teaching me the ropes and such. I'm very excited for that new journey, so we'll see where it takes me.

Kate Moennig says 'L Word' costar Leisha Hailey helped her mourn her father's passing
Talking, laughing, loving, breathing, and being best friends! The L Word stars Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig are celebrating their decades-long friendship on the cover of The Advocate's July/August issue. In the cover story, Hailey and Moennig discuss how they first met in the Showtime offices during the audition process for the role of Shane, which eventually went to Moennig. Since then, the two queer actors built an inseparable bond a story that will be told in detail in their dual memoir, So Gay for You: Friendship, Found Family, and the Show That Started It All."[There was] something inside me that said, 'Oh, there's something here,'" Moennig said of meeting Hailey. "Of course, I didn't know at the time, obviously, what that was, but I knew it wasnt just, 'Oh, this is a coworker.'"Now, 20 years later, Moennig says of their relationship, "It's a marriage, honestly, and it's something that we constantly are working on." Leisha Hailey, Kate MoennigMike Nelson for The Advocate/equalprideOne of the most critical moments in their friendship occurred when Moennig returned to shoot season 2 of The L Word after losing her father to cancer."I don't even know what got me through it," Moennig said, revealing that she didn't even realize how bad things were at the time. "It only takes five, six years to say, 'Actually, that was a real mess of a time.'""I had this one," Moennig added, gesturing to Hailey. "It was the best of times and the worst of times happening all at the same time."The pair also said it's their platonic love that inspired them to write a book together."Leisha and I, we are our own selves, obviously," Moennig said. "But really, Leisha's presence in my life really completes it. I don't know what the colors in my life would look like without her. And that platonic love is incredibly powerful. There's a shorthand that we have."The full interview can be read in July/August 2025 issue of The Advocate.

How Feminist Is The Sex Toy Industry? Hot Take Actually, A Lot
The sex toy industry has emerged as one of the most feminist-friendly areas of consumer culture. While other industries slap on pink packaging and call it empowerment, this one is being rebuilt by women and nonbinary designers. Its not just cute branding. Its structural, sensory, and deeply intentional. The Legacy: When Pleasure Became a ProblemThe problem with poor-quality sex toys runs much deeper than just flimsy plastic. Its a whole legacy of erasing cultures and traditions that traces back to the Dark Ages, when the Church came to power, eradicating the pagan religions, the femme gods of fertility and pleasure, and shame became institutional. Female sexuality was cast as sinful, silence became survival, and pleasure was pushed out of public life.By the time vibrators hit the market, the damage was done. These toys werent made for real people they were loud and rigid. Designed by men, for well, also men. They ignored anatomy, clit stimulation, disability, and comfort entirely. They werent tools of empowerment. They were built to be hidden, not celebrated. Now, were finally channeling back in. Its not just about better toys its about reclaiming the conversation.Women Took the Blueprint BackThen something quietly revolutionary happened: women started designing sex toys.Instead of just being consumers or product testers, they became inventors, founders, and engineers. They asked questions the industry hadnt considered:Why does this only have one vibration setting? Can we talk about pleasure like adults instead of using weird code words? What about people who cant hold a toy for long? Why is something so intimate made out of toxic materials? The result? A generation of female-founded brands that didnt just change sex toys they changed the entire tone of the conversation.Power Players Who Didnt Wait for PermissionLets name names not just to celebrate them, but to show how different this movement looks in practice:Dame ProductsCo-founded by sexologist Alex Fine and engineer Janet Lieberman, Dame centers real users in every design. The Eva is a hands-free clitoral vibe that stays in place during partnered sex no straps or fuss. The Pom is soft, bendy, and pressure-sensitive, mimicking the feel of fingers. Their toys dont overdo the tech they just get you off in ways that make sense. UnboundUnbound made sex toys part of everyday style and conversation. The Puff is a compact air-pulse toy that looks playful but packs serious power. The Palma ring is wearable, elegant, and built for surprise mid-day orgasms (if thats your vibe). Theyre bold, cheeky, and never apologizing for pleasure.CraveThe Vesper is jewelry that vibrates a stainless steel necklace thats both statement piece and clitoral vibe. Its discreet, powerful, and symbolic of Craves mission: turning sensuality into self-expression.Lora DiCarloKnown for the CES-banned-then-reinstated Os, this brand blends robotics with body-aware design. Non-phallic and science-backed, their toys mimic human touch proof that innovation and inclusivity can coexist. This isnt just marketing. These companies have transformed the user experience by prioritising anatomy, agency, and aesthetics. This isnt just marketing. These companies have transformed the user experience by prioritising anatomy, agency, and aesthetics. The Retail Side: Whos Actually Carrying the Torch? Its one thing to design great products. Another thing is to make sure people can actually find and trust them. Jess Weaver, Head of Marketing at EdenFantasys, explains: We see customers actively seeking out brands they connect with products that match their values, not just their budget. And honestly? They want to feel like the product gets them.Users can read honest reviews that arent filtered through shameInclusive language is the norm, not the exceptionBody-safe materials are a baseline requirement, not a premium featureIts Better But Not PerfectThe sex toy industry has come a long way. Feminist values are shaping design and messaging, but..some gaps remain, real inclusivity still takes work. The Wins:Design with intention: Better shapes, stronger motors, no more awkward seams or toxic materialsInclusivity: Acknowledging queerness, disability, neurodivergence, and more in product design and brandingCustomer power: Shoppers are voting with their wallets prioritizing transparency and valuesThe Still-Messy Bits:Price tags: Premium, woman-designed products arent always accessible. Affordability is still a major gap.Faux-feminism: Some brands copy feminist aesthetics but still operate with the same old priorities.Representation: Theres still a long way to go when it comes to visibility for trans and nonbinary creators in product leadership.Pleasure Is Political This Industry Knows ItThe sex toy industry didnt just evolve it was reclaimed. Built by those who were once excluded, it now centers real bodies and genuine needs. You can see it in the products and the messaging. Retailers like EdenFantasys arent just keeping pace theyre helping lead the change, making space for feminist brands to thrive. So, how feminist is the sex toy industry?Feminist enough to change how we talk about pleasure.Feminist enough to reshape how we experience it. This isnt just progress. Its a new standard. The post How Feminist Is The Sex Toy Industry? Hot Take Actually, A Lot first appeared on Lesbian.com.

How Women and LGBTQ+ Players Are Changing Football Headlines
Remember that moment with Megan Rapinoe? Arms stretched wide, chin lifted, that unmistakable smirk it wasnt just about winning a World Cup. It was a statement. A challenge. For decades, football has felt like a tight-knit boys club, wrapped in layers of tradition, testosterone, and unspoken rules about who belongs. But that old playbook is falling apart.Today, women are filling stadiums, LGBTQ+ players are stepping onto the pitch without hiding who they are, and fans are showing up for all of it. This shift isnt a passing trend its reshaping the heartbeat of the sport. For anyone who keeps up with , its clear: these players arent just part of the conversation. Theyre rewriting it.Where We Started And How Far Weve ComeFootball hasnt always been an open door. For years, it was pretty clear who was welcome: men. Womens football was ignored, underfunded, or outright banned like when the English FA in 1921 decided it was unsuitable for women and shut it down.As for LGBTQ+ players, especially in the mens game, it was even tougher. Coming out wasnt just scary it could end a career before it began. Silence wasnt just common; it was often the only survival strategy.Thats why whats happening now feels so meaningful. Were not just talking about changes on the pitch were watching generations of exclusion get dismantled.Women Changing the GameFast-forward to today, and womens football isnt just thriving its booming. The Womens World Cup pulls massive global audiences, Englands WSL and the U.S.s NWSL are drawing record crowds, and sponsors are finally paying attention. But its not just about ticket sales or TV ratings. Its about women like Alexia Putellas, Megan Rapinoe, and Sam Kerr, who have stepped into the spotlight not just as athletes, but as role models and activists. Theyre using their platforms to fight for equal pay, better media coverage, and respect thats been overdue for far too long.None of this happened by magic. Its the result of relentless work from players, advocates, and fans who refused to accept the old status quo.Take Dr. Pamela Larde, for example her work amplifying womens voices in sport is part of a bigger movement thats turning womens football into something more than just matches and medals. Its about recognition, pride, and creating space for future generations.LGBTQ+ Players Finding Their MomentVisibility changes everything. And right now, were finally seeing LGBTQ+ athletes get a bit more of it though theres still a long way to go.Josh Cavallo, Jake Daniels, Collin Martin these guys are breaking ground in mens football, where openly gay players are still rare. Their courage? Its making it easier for others to come forward. On the womens side, the atmosphere tends to be more open, with many international stars living authentically. And that matters. Because when young athletes see someone like them on the field, it sends a powerful message: youre not alone, and you absolutely belong here.Campaigns like #RainbowLaces and rainbow armbands are helping move the needle, but they cant be where the work ends. Real change means tackling the deeper culture, not just handing out colorful merchandise.Whos Getting the Spotlight?Heres the thing stories only matter if theyre being told. And historically, the media has been pretty one-sided about which football stories get airtime. Womens leagues? Often pushed to the margins. LGBTQ+ players? Barely mentioned.Thats starting to shift. Brands like Nike and Adidas are running inclusive campaigns, and more outlets are covering diverse athletes and their journeys. But to keep momentum, we need people behind the scenes editors, reporters, commentators who bring different perspectives and keep those stories authentic.Theres a difference between meaningful representation and a one-off headline. We need more of the first, less of the second.Even with all this progress, theres no pretending the work is done. Misogyny and homophobia still echo through stadiums and flood online comment sections. We still havent seen the first openly gay superstar in mens top-tier football and that absence speaks volumes.Funding gaps between mens and womens leagues remain massive. Many LGBTQ+ initiatives rely on volunteers or small budgets, fighting for attention in a crowded sports landscape.Real change will take stronger policies, clear consequences for discrimination, and serious investment. It also means working at the grassroots level making sure youth teams, schools, and local clubs are building spaces where every kid feels welcome. Why This Matters Beyond the PitchThis isnt just a football story. Its a human story. When a sport opens its doors to more people, it doesnt just get more players it gets more heart, more creativity, more connection. Inclusive teams often have stronger chemistry, and diverse fanbases bring energy that no marketing campaign can manufacture.Dr. Jen Welter, the first female coach in the NFL, put it perfectly when she said breaking stereotypes in sports opens up doors for everyone players and fans alike. When we challenge old ideas about who belongs, we build a better, more exciting game.Keeping the Momentum GoingSo, where do we go from here? We keep celebrating the wins from packed stadiums to brave athletes changing the conversation. But we also stay focused on the gaps that still need closing. That means fighting for better policies, better funding, and more voices at every level. And maybe most importantly, it means remembering this is about more than just star players. Its about creating safe, joyful spaces for kids, weekend league players, amateur fans, and everyone who finds freedom in the game. Its about making sure football reflects the world we actually live in.The game is shifting. And if we keep pushing, five or ten years from now, we could be looking at a sport where coming out isnt headline news, where womens matches draw the same crowds as mens, and where the pitch truly feels like a place for everyone something you can already see hinted at in todays .Final takeawayFootball has always been called the beautiful game but its real beauty comes from the people in it. The more voices, stories, and identities we welcome onto the field, the better the game becomes. Heres to the trailblazers, the underdogs, the kids dreaming of their first match, and the fans cheering them on. The futures wide open and its going to be one hell of a match. The post How Women and LGBTQ+ Players Are Changing Football Headlines first appeared on Lesbian.com.

How to Dress Your Dog in Stylish Outfits
Dressing your dog in stylish outfits is not just a fun trend; it helps show their personality and comfort them. As pet owners, we naturally want to bring out our dogs unique qualities, just like we do with our clothes. Dog fashion has grown beyond basic items to include stylish and functional pieces. A collar and leash are useful, but a nice outfit can catch peoples attention. From cozy sweaters to practical outdoor gear, its important to know how clothing can be stylish and comfortable. There are many great options for different occasions, whether for a casual walk in thepark or a festive event.Learn how to dress your dogs in stylish outfits.Clothing MaterialsChoosing the right fabric for your dogs outfit is important. Breathable fabrics like cotton keep your dog comfortable in warm weather, while wool or fleece provides warmth in colder weather. Soft, non-irritating materials are best to avoid discomfort. Scratchy fabrics can irritate your dogs skin, so look for pleasant options.Functionality is also key when selecting clothing. Waterproof materials are important for rainy days because they keep your dog dry without losing style. Reflective features are useful for evening walks, adding safety and flair. You can find outfits that are both fashionable and practical.Seasonal StylesEach season calls for different outfits. In spring and summer, choose lighter fabrics and bright colors. Floral prints and cheerful patterns are perfect for sunny days. Summer clothes should be breathable to help your dog stay cool. When its colder, switch to warm coats and sweaters. Layering can help; you can put a fitted turtleneck under a stylish jacket for extra warmth. Winter is a great time to play with textures using puffer jackets or chunky knitted sweaters. Adding a fashionable scarf can also keep your dog cozy and stylish.Outdoor ClothesOutdoor gear for dogs should focus on quality and performance. Their products combine practicality with style. Each piece is designed for adventures, using durable and weather-resistant materials. This way, your dog stays safe during walks, hikes, or unexpected weather.Ruffwear outdoor outfits are adjustable for comfort. They offer a range of items, from harnesses to jackets. You can mix and match items based on the activity. With this brand, you dont have to give up style for functionality. Their gear supports active dogs so they can enjoy adventures while looking great.Accessorizing the LookAccessories can make an outfit more special and show off your dogs personality. Hats can be cute and practical, providing shade or warmth. Bandanas add a relaxed touch and can be adjusted for any occasion.Footwear is another important accessory. Booties protect your dogs paws from rough surfaces or bad weather. Choose shoes that fit well so they stay on your dogs feet. Proper footwear lets your dog explore safely while being stylish.Sizes and FitTo keep your dog comfortable, finding the right size when buying clothes is important. Measure your dogs neck, chest, and back length before purchasing. A snug fit helps prevent slipping and discomfort, while too loose clothes can be unsafe.Always check the manufacturers size chart. Sizing can differ between brands, so refer to your dogs measurements, not just their usual size. Adjust for your dogs breed and shape for the best fit.Personal StyleAdding your dogs personality to its outfits makes dressing it fun. Choose colors and patterns that match its character. A playful dog may look great in bright colors or fun prints, while a more serious dog might prefer simple designs and neutral colors.Feel free to try out different styles. Letting your dog wear various outfits can help find their unique look. Involve your dog during fittings to create a positive experience. The best outfit is one that makes both you and your dog happy.Comfort Above AllNo matter how stylish an outfit is, your dogs comfort is the most important thing. Clothes should not limit your dogs movement or cause discomfort. Watch your dogs behavior when trying new clothing. Their reactions will show what works best. Outfits should support your dogs lifestyle, not complicate it.Today, dog fashion combines practicality and style. Dogs can show off their personality without losing comfort. The post How to Dress Your Dog in Stylish Outfits appeared first on LGBTQ and ALL.

During the broadcast, the two talked with their fans and played with hair extensions, when Skiendiel asked Raj, Should I just do it? and then said, Guys, Im coming out, Im bisexual. They both excitedly jumped up and down, and Skiendiel can be heard saying that she was nervous to say it. (@) Guys, I came out on Pride Month so give me that award, girl, Skiendiel says, referring to the Blooming Impact award that Raj got from the LGBT Center in Los Angeles. Raj then responds, Next time she gets the Blooming Impact award and hey, I'm gonna present it to you and be like, 'hey, I was the first, you were the second.' Back in March, Raj was talking with fans on Weverse and shared more about her identity. I knew I was half a fruitcake when I was like 8, so I really was wanting everybody," she wrote. Raj was chosen to be a member of the group along with Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeong. You know, in Dream Academy when it came out I was really, really scared tbh, she wrote. "I didnt know if people would accept me, and I really thought it would ruin my chances of getting in.Raj continued and told the fans, And then you all were so so nice about it and gave me so much love and support and it made me feel so confident in who I am, so I love you for that. With two openly queer members, KATSEYE is one of the few K-pop groups to have multiple bandmates who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Welcome to the first Friday of Pride month! As we get to the halfway point in the year, here at Out, we like to celebrate all the celebs and celebrity-adjacent people who have come out this year! For me, personally, the biggest coming out in 2025 so far has been the late, great Paul Reubens. Reubens, best known for creating the character Pee-wee Herman, was always an outsider and encouraged his fans to be their most authentic selves, even if they didn't fit in. Still, it wasn't until after he sadly passed away in 2023 that he came out.Reubens opened up about his sexuality and love life in the new documentary Pee-wee as Himself. Reubens isn't the only celeb to come out this year. Several women, including The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo author Taylor Jenkins Reid, country singer Tanner Adell, and Pitch Perfect and You star Anna Camp, came out. As did queer men like K-pop singer Bain, and Olympian Yared Nuguse.Check out our list of 26 celebs who have come out this year to find out more!Keep reading to find out the Gayest Song of the Week, plus all the best pop culture news.- Mey RudeTom Daley is a retired Olympic champion. • Gay Olympian Diver Tom Daley
    WWW.OUT.COM
Tom Daley is a retired Olympic champion. Now what?
On a recent May morning, Tom Daley posed for photography in the galleries and courtyards of the Hammer Museum, a cultural institution affiliated with the University of California, Los Angeles.Modeling Dolce & Gabbana and Dior amid the Van Goghs and Monets, the Olympian who had trained for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics at the UCLA pool just up the street from the Hammer was celebrating his 31st birthday that week. He could have easily passed for one of the graduate students who peered over their laptops with some curiosity at the Out cover shoot. DIOR MEN Full Look; THE GREAT FROG RingErik CarterUnlike these students, however, Daley is already retired from a decades-long career in diving, which he began training for at age 7. In this pursuit, hes picked up every notable accolade, including four World Champion titles and five Olympic medals (three bronze, one silver, and one gold) for his native Great Britain. His journey to athletic superstardom is chronicled in a new documentary, Tom Daley: 1.6 Seconds, which is streaming on Olympics.com, Max, and, in the U.K., discovery+. The title refers to the amount of time between the diving board and the pool, during which an athlete must showcase his abilities to the world.Retirement and a documentary film spanning a lifetime in the spotlight can be a lot to process for someone still so relatively young. I think I have a very warped sense of time and when to achieve things and how to achieve things, but Im glad that I put myself through all of those quite challenging things at a young age, because it really has helped me be resilient as Ive gotten older, Daley reflects.Does he regret not having that period of exploration, risk-taking, and, well, anonymity that is more typical for many young people in their teens and 20s? Theres part of me that would have loved to have been able to have a little bit more of a freedom to make mistakes and not be in the public eye but at the same time, Im so incredibly lucky and grateful for the career that Ive had, so I dont really see it as something thats a downer, he says.In addition to his professional accomplishments, Daley has achieved many personal milestones. He is married to the Oscar-winning Milk screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black. Together, they have two young boys: Phoenix (age 2) and Robbie, who turns 7 this June. The family lives together in L.A., where, with the help of Black, the kids recently surprised Daley with balloons and cakes for breakfast on his birthday. Robbie is about Daleys age when he began training in diving, which for his dad is surreal to contemplate. I cant even imagine Robbie doing those things and training, he says. DIOR MEN Full Look; THE GREAT FROG Ring Erik CarterThanks to Daleys own father, Robert, the world can now see footage of Daleys training in his youth, where he grew up in Plymouth, England; his dad recorded much of this journey with a camcorder, which is included in 1.6 Seconds. My dad was my biggest cheerleader. And lots of that footage that I saw in the documentary was the first time Id ever seen it, so it was very surreal to be going back in time and being that kid again, Daley says. At the time [he was filming it], I used to find it like, Oh, gosh, this is so annoying. But then actually now Im really glad that Ive got those moments that I can cherish and look back on forever.Daley was hesitant to make a documentary about his life. But he decided to do it in part for his kids, so they could have that understanding of what Ive done and who I am. A part of that understanding included getting to know their grandfather, who died of a brain tumor in 2011 at age 40, when Daley was just 17.Daley says his father inspired me and motivated me in so many ways, both when he was here and when he wasnt. The Olympian cites his father as a role model for how he raises his own children. Family is clearly important to him. During the documentary process, one of the most emotional moments for Daley was seeing a photograph of himself as a baby with his dad. It reminded him of being with Robbie and Phoenix. I look back on it, and I think, Oh, my gosh, I really, really wish that he was able to see all of the things that Ive achieved and done and the person that Ive become, he says. The documentary covers the difficult period of Daley losing his father, which includes footage of his teen self at the funeral. While Daleys athletic success has always sparked a degree of press coverage, its particularly difficult for Daley to watch himself through the mirrors of media and time.It was such a traumatic part of my childhood, and I lived it so publicly, he says. And then watching it back, I felt really sorry for that version of me where I was just kind of carrying on and just going and going and going without stopping and just constantly trying to please everyone around me rather than caring about how I felt. DZOJCHEN Full Look; DIOR Necklace; THE GREAT FROG BraceletErik CarterThere are other demons Daley battles in the documentary. As a child, he would often experience distress while traveling for competitions, which interrupted his sleep (as well as his adult chaperones rest time). He faced bullying in school after competing on a global sports stage. And as a young athlete, he struggled with an eating disorder. At the time, I had no idea that men even struggled with eating disorders, he recalls. This lack of awareness prevented him from seeking care, which is why he wants to continue discussing the issue today. In reviewing his life, he also diagnoses the dangers of hiding ones pain behind a happy exterior.I feel like what I learned about myself throughout that documentary is that I kept my issues and my problems so much to myself and bottled up and compartmentalized that I didnt ever allow myself to have help, he shares. And I really wish that other people dont do that and they seek the help and have the conversations with the people that they love that can support them.Though he may no longer be an active professional athlete, Daley still struggles with his body image. Theres still part of me knowing what I can look like and [what] I have looked like in the past when it came to peak physical condition for an Olympic Games and now Im not training six hours a day, six days a week, it becomes a real challenge, he says. And then I am always thinking about what Im eating, what exercise Im doing in a day, and so that, for me, is always going to be a struggle.Im getting better about it every day, he adds. I always think, Oh, its OK. Im not an athlete anymore. I dont have to worry so much. But then I do go on photo shoots and more often than not, theyre like, Oh, can you unbutton that shirt? Or actually, do you wanna just take it off?His status as a sex symbol, particularly among gay men it always seems really funny to me because, obviously, I never think of myself like that adds an extra layer of pressure of not letting myself go. LORO PIANA Full LookErik CarterThere are many high points in the documentary too. In addition to his athletic victories, 1.6 Seconds reviews significant moments in Daleys personal life. In the film, Black recalls how Daley adorably added a winky face to his phone number after the pair met at a dinner in 2013. The attraction was immediate, recounts Daley, who was initially wowed by Blacks really, really broad shoulders. I remember seeing them and I was like, Oh, damn, who is that?On an emotional level, Daley also connected with Black through their trials of triumph and pain. There was something about the things that he had been through that was very similar to me, he says. He had lost his brother; Id lost my dad. Hed won an Oscar, Id won an Olympic medal, and we had both struggled on the other side of it.Daley would come out later that year in a YouTube video by declaring he was in a relationship with a man, a milestone in his life and the sports world that is also recognized in the documentary. I just didnt want to hide anymore, Daley says of his mindset then. I was just me, and I didnt want anyone to ever think that I was ashamed of who I am. And that meant coming out and being true to myself. There were hurdles to coming out, including voices from his management warning how being out would impact the brand of Tom Daley. But the rewards far outweighed the concerns, he found. There was always that part of me that thought, Oh, my gosh, this could be the end, this is it, and Im not going to be able to have that life that I always dreamed of. And I think lots of people before they come out kind of build it up in their head to be this crazy, scary thing that is going to ruin their life, he says. And then actually, once you are able to come out, its just so incredibly freeing. And it really allowed me to really get to start living my life rather than it ending. DOLCE & GABBANA Single-breasted Pinstripe Linen-Blend Blazer; THE GREAT FROG Necklace; TOMS OWN RingErik CarterDaleys days look quite different now than they did during the intensity of Olympic training. Each morning, he rises around 6 a.m. with Black to prepare breakfast for their kids, and then they drop Robbie off at school and go on a morning hike together. Its our couples time where we talk about everything, he says.In making a long-term relationship work, communication is key, Daley shares, as well as making the other person feel like they can achieve whatever they put their mind to . Were both big dreamers, and we never limit what the other person might be able to dream into existence. After his daily hike with Black, theres an afternoon gym session. But the majority of Daleys day is devoted to crocheting and knitting, a hobby he picked up during COVID lockdown that has, surprisingly, opened the doors to the next stage of his career. He approaches his new passion with the discipline of a longtime professional athlete. I set goals. I sometimes find myself timing myself how quickly I can make something. I am very methodical with it, he attests.Since images of him knitting during downtime at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021 went viral, Daley has launched a clothing brand, Made With Love, and a new book of patterns with the same name. He is also hosting a reality knitting competition, The Game of Wool, which is set to debut on Channel 4 later this year. Daley shares that the show will be in a vein similar to The Great British Bake Off except instead of baked goods, there will be knitting like youve never seen it before, very extreme in terms of the things that people are able to create.Im excited for people to see it . You know, knitting can be a little bit naughty as well, he teases. FERRARI Full Look; DIOR MEN Necklace; THE GREAT FROG Ring; DOUCALS ShoesErik CarterWhile knitting and parenthood provide Daley with purpose, it hasnt been easy to walk away from diving, which drove and defined the majority of his life. Another hard part of his documentary experience was coming to terms with the end of this chapter.Theres part of me that doesnt know what to do without that part of me, so yeah, it is always a struggle, he says. I always find myself watching the diving competitions and thinking, Oh, gosh, I could have done that, or, I could have been in that competition and won that. But I feel like thats something that all athletes experience. Hes had the good fortune to receive advice from another gay Olympic diver who has traveled this path: Greg Louganis. Ive spoken to Greg quite a lot about that stuff, Daley says. Hes been a massive role model of mine and mentor.Retirement isnt always final, however. In May, freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy announced he would be coming out of retirement to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics. This news was exciting to his fellow Team Great Britain alum. I actually texted him, and I was like, Oh, my gosh youre coming back! Like what on earth?Would Daley consider a similar move? Theres part of me that is always like, never say never . Its an interesting prospect. But I think that as Im getting older, the last time, going into Paris, I was gonna be 30, competing. And thats a lot more doable than competing at 34, which is what I would be if I was gonna compete again. But whether its competing as an out athlete, hosting a knitting competition, or being a public figure in a rainbow family, Daley underlines the message hes always wanted to convey with his visibility: Being gay isnt something thats gonna stop you from being able to achieve your dreams. This cover story is part of Out's July/August issue, which hits newsstands July 1. 'Drag Race All Stars 10': Bracket 2 queens who advanced to semi-finals
Bracket 2 of 'All Stars 10' comes to a dramatic end.Editor's note: This article contains spoilers for episode 6 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10.RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 10 episode 6 featured the bracket 2 queens Jorgeous, Kerri Colby, Lydia B Kollins, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Nicole Paige Brooks, and Tina Burner fighting one last time to earn enough points and qualify for the semi-finals.Three queens within Group Pink did collect the most Tournament of All Stars points and moved forward to the next stage of the competition. And just like it was announced at the end of bracket 1, Mama Ru has a lottery twist for the three other queens who didn't qualify in this round.Going into this sixth episode, the scoreboard of bracket 2 queens had Jorgeous and Mistress Isabelle Brooks with 4.5 points, Lydia B Kollins with 3 points, and Tina Burner with 2 points. Shockingly, both Kerri Colby and Nicole Paige Brooks still found themselves stuck with 0 points. With four Most Valuable Queen (MVQ) points still waiting to be distributed and only one more maxi challenge away from the queens qualifying to the semi-finals, all bets were off in this Tournament of All Stars.'All Stars 10' Bracket 2: Round 2 of MVQ PointsThis second round of Most Valuable Queen (MVQ) points distribution had one big winner, Kerri Colby, who went from no points to 2 points in just a few minutes tying with Tina Burner on the scoreboard. Nicole Paige Brooks also left the no-points station by receiving 1 point. The remaining fourth MVQ point available was given to Lydia B. Kollins, putting her at a total of 4 points. This round of MVQ points created shady dynamics for Tina, who won the first maxi challenge of bracket 2 but was suddenly tied with Kerri for a chance to advance to the semi-finals. Nicole wasn't thrilled about her prospects of moving forward in the competition, but she did seem relieved from no longer being stuck at zero.Despite all the strategizing and planning between Mistress and Jorgeous, it was clear that Lydia snuck up on them without getting too much "blood" on her hands to the point of even receiving an MVQ point despite already being a contender to make it to the next phase of this tournament.'All Stars 10' Bracket 2: Final Top 2 Lip SyncThe "Starrbooty: The Rebooty" Rusical of episode 6 had Jorgeous and Lydia B Kollins as the top 2 queens of the week. One more point was hanging in the air, and these two divas did the damn thing in a lip sync to Beyonc's "Texas Hold 'Em" that could've solidified their path right to the semi-finals.Jorgeous was deemed the winner of this lip sync, helping her reach a total of 7.5 points overall. Considering that the highest score of bracket 1 came from Irene The Alien (7 points), Jorgeous officially became the queen with the most Tournament of All Stars points in the entire competition thus far.'All Stars 10' Bracket 2: Round 3 of MVQ PointsSee on InstagramThis final round of MVQ points distribution for bracket 2 also took place on the main stage, just in the first bracket. Each of the four "bottom" queens had an MVQ point to give, and it quickly became clear that this was a battle between whether or not Kerri would catch up to Mistress, or if Mistress could still qualify to the semi-finals even if she didn't get any points from her All Stars 10 costars.Nicole gave her MVQ point to Kerri.Tina gave her MVQ point to Kerri.Kerri gave her MVQ point to Tina.Mistress gave her MVQ point to Lydia.Which queens from bracket 2 advanced to the semi-finals of 'All Stars 10'?Lydia B Kollins, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, and Jorgeous finished bracket 2 having the most points within Group Pink, so all three of them moved forward to the semi-finals. Their final track record of points on All Stars 10 was broken down as such:Jorgeous won two maxi challenges (2 points each), one top 2 lip sync (1 point), one tied top 2 lip sync (0.5 points), and received two MVQ points. Jorgeous's final score: 7.5 points.Lydia B Kollins won two maxi challenges (2 points each), one top 2 lip sync (1 point), and received two MVQ points as well. Lydia's final score: 7 points.Mistress Isabelle Brooks won a maxi challenge (2 points) had a tied top 2 lip sync sync (0.5 points), and schemed her way to win two MVQ points. Mistress's final score: 4.5 points.Which queens from bracket 2 did not move forward to the next stage of 'All Stars 10'?Tina Burner won the first maxi challenge of bracket 2, but didn't win the top 2 lip sync. Throughout competition, she only received one MVQ point. Kerri Colby and Nicole Paige Brooks didn't win any challenges, so their final scores were entirely based on their social game and the MVQ points that came with it.Try as they might, Nicole, Kerri, and Tina did not advance to the semi-finals in this Tournament of All Stars.'All Stars 10' Bracket 1: Final ScoreboardIrene The Alien: 7 pointsBosco: 6 pointsAja: 5 pointsDeJa Skye: 4 pointsOlivia Lux: 4 pointsPhoenix: 1 point'All Stars 10' Bracket 2: Final ScoreboardJorgeous 7.5Lydia B Kollins 7Mistress Isabelle Brooks 4.5Kerri Colby 4Tina Burner 3Nicole Paige Brooks 1Which queens are competing in bracket 3 of 'All Stars 10'?Episode 7 starts the competition between the final group bracket 3 of queens competing on All Stars 10. Dubbed as "Group Purple," this lineup of queens has Acid Betty, Alyssa Hunter, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, Denali, and Ginger Minj. The fans are excited to watch the final bracket in the Tournament of All Stars!RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10 drops new episodes every Friday on Paramount+.

7 great TV shows to watch if you loved 'Overcompensating'
Overcompensating, the Prime Video show created by and starring content creator and comedian Benito Skinner had all the perfect ingredients to hook a young audience. The show featured an ensemble cast comprising internet stars like Holmes, Caleb Hearon, and Owen Thiele, as well as A-listers such as Charli XCX, Kyle MacLachlan, and Connie Britton, all set to a fast-paced, joke-filled tone. It centered around a group of young adults figuring out life together with a few hijinks and side quests sprinkled throughout. The show became an instant smash, shooting straight to number one on the platform's most-watched TV shows list less than a week after it aired.Skinner plays a college freshman named Benny, who decides to attend the same college as his sister, Grace (Mary Beth Barone), and forms a quick, co-dependent bond with a young woman named Carmen (Wally Baram). The two figure out college life together and navigate sticky relationships, Benny uncovering his sexuality, and figuring out who they really are. The eight episodes go down easily, and it's one of those shows that if you blink, you'll realize you already finished the season. To help with the post-show hangover, here are some other shows about young people stumbling through early adulthood and figuring it out.'Adults' (FX/Hulu)Adults was released two weeks after Overcompensating, so it's no surprise that two shows with somewhat similar premises are being compared to one another. Some people are even calling the show "cousins," related by way of casting internet personalities with different premises. (@) The FX show follows a group of co-dependent 20-somethings living in Queens, New York, as they navigate various situations, including health insurance, interpersonal relationships, and the complexities of citizenship. It stars a group of actors and comedians who have a few acting credits to their name, consisting of Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele.'Sort Of' (Max)Sort Of is a show on HBO Max that deserves more love from Americans. This Canadian sitcom follows an acerbic nonbinary South Asian millennial named Sabi Mehboob (Bilal Baig), who is based in Toronto. Audiences watch as Sabi navigates embracing their identity while working as a bartender in a queer bar and babysitting a young couple's kids, all while dealing with a somewhat understanding family. The heartwarming show won a Peabody Award and ran for three seasons.'PEN15' (Hulu)Almost everyone agrees that they would not want to relive their middle or high school days. However, it may not seem applicable to Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, who decided to play fictionalized versions of themselves in their early teenage years in the early 2000s. At first, PEN15 is a cringe-fest of uncomfortable yet relatable moments that most young people experience in middle school; however, these moments ultimately bring the two main characters closer together. We watch, over two (very) quick seasons, as Maya and Anna maneuver (physically and figuratively) through unpleasant moments of excruciating awkwardness that come with growing up and learning about yourself. The show delicately addresses more complex topics, such as race and sexuality.'Derry Girls' (Netflix)Three seasons of Derry Girls isn't enough, but we can understand quitting while you're ahead. This Netflix show centers around a group of misfits in 1990s Northern Ireland during the final year of the Troubles. Audiences are treated to a hilarious romp featuring a truly stellar cast that portrays young kids in an all-girls Catholic secondary school, figuring out life amidst political unrest. The group features Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), her cousin Orla (Louisa Harland), their friends Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell), and James (Dylan Llewellyn).'Sex Education' (Netflix)The title sort of gives away the show's premise. Sex Education follows the show's protagonists, Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) and Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa), as Otis accidentally becomes an expert on sex at their school. He is not particularly well-versed in that department, but his mother, Jean (Gillian Anderson), is a sex therapist. Having grown up speaking openly about the topic (and being surrounded by videos, books, etc.), he teaches his classmates what he knows. The Netflix series doesn't primarily focus on heterosexual sex, nor does it only focus on intercourse. It has an afternoon special/public service announcement sort of lilt without sounding too preachy, and it substitutes that for interpersonal drama.'Our Flag Means Death' (Max)We will never forgive HBO Max for canceling Our Flag Means Death after it released the show's second season. While it may not be a coming-of-age show, it still feels like one. Audiences follow Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) as he becomes the captain of the Revenge. Bonnet, however, is not like other pirate ship captains; he is dubbed "the gentleman pirate" for a reason he's actually very lovely and a great boss to his underlings, listening to their concerns and allowing them to voice their feelings. The Revenge encounters the infamous pirate, Blackbeard (Taika Waititi), who is initially at odds but quickly forms an unbreakable bond. When Our Flag Means Death announced it wasn't returning for a third season on Max/HBO Max, its creator expressed interest in finding a new home for the show alas, to no avail. BlackBonnet will live on in our hearts.'Steven Universe' (Cartoon Network)Yes, we know this is a kid's show, but this kid's show has heart. It has themes of love, acceptance, and chosen family, all wrapped into a program that feels like a big, warm hug. Steven Universe follows the story of the Crystal Gems, a group of intergalactic magical beings who are tasked with taking care of the titular character. Steven, a half-gem half-human boy, is figuring out how to use his powers, protecting his town Beach City from alien attacks, and learn more about himself. This kids' show is not just a silly, fun time; it also features depictions of queer relationships and made history as the first children's animated show to feature a same-sex wedding. If you're looking for another show about young people discovering more about themselves, we can't recommend this one enough.

'And Just Like That' S3 E2 recap: Giving Charlotte the finger
Editor's note: This post contains spoilers for episode 2, titled "The Rat Race," from And Just Like That season 3.Episode 2 of Max's And Just Like That season 3 leaves much to be desired. There isn't much plot, nor does anything particularly interesting happen. Viewers get introduced to new characters, and re-introduced to characters from past seasons. Ultimately, "The Rat Race" is mainly filler and positioned to set up plot points that seem likely to develop throughout the season. In the episode, we see Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) continuing to work through her long-distance entanglement woes with Aidan (John Corbett) and their lack of communication through text; Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) are figuring out how to get their kids into good colleges; and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is becoming obsessed with a Love Island-esque dating show. With not much going on this episode, here are our hot takes on season 3, episode 2 of And Just Like That. The necklace Lisette gives Carrie is actually very ugly, and we think Carrie thinks so too.The episode opens on Carrie grabbing a drink with Lisette (Katerina Tannenbaum), the young twenty-something who took over her apartment at a trendy downtown spot. The unlikely boomeranging of her phone aside, Lisette wanting to meet up to gift Carrie a necklace made especially for her. It's a thick silver necklace with the number 245 on it, a nod to Carrie's old apartment building. That piece, while sentimental, is not something she would wear it's gaudy and not Carrie's style at all. It's hard to believe Lisette can afford the Upper East Side rent with such bad business acumen. At no point does Carrie say that the necklace is beautiful. Carrie says, "You made this" and "I love it," which are boilerplate responses to someone who gets you something you're never going to wear. It feels like when your parents get you socks or underwear for Christmas, and you don't want to seem ungrateful, so you fake a smile and say thank you. Carrie doesn't have to feign excitement because before Lisette gifted her the necklace, she tossed her phone into a crowd of people after expressing her frustrations with dating. The man who was hit by her phone returned it to her and offered to buy Carrie and Lisette a drink. Lisette, however, was not coy. "Here we go again," she told Carrie. In today's dating market, a matchmaker doesn't sound half bad.Seema (Sarita Choudhury) is putting herself back on the market after her breakup with Ravi (Armin Amiri), a film director who swept her off her feet, propped her up on a shelf, and forgot her there. They call it quits by the end of episode 1, and Seema decides she wants to try dating again. Unsurprisingly, she lines up multiple dates with a few different guys, but reads them like a book before they even finish talking. After all of the dates fail, her boss sets her up with a matchmaker and initially, Seema is resistant because this matchmaker tells her to change her appearance and attitude. But, eventually, she gives in.In true Sex and the City fashion, the operation is a dud, and she figures out that she doesn't want to be with a man who makes her shrink herself and tells the matchmaker to stick it where the sun don't shine. Now, it's easy to see why this didn't work out for Seema, but a matchmaker doesn't sound as bad as it seems, at least one that advertises you as you are. Dating apps are the eighth circle of hell, no one knows how to strike up conversations at the bar anymore, and even after chatting with them, some people can't hold a conversation to save their lives. At this point, most people will try anything, and if someone is willing to do the work of pairing people up, we say, why the hell not?Lily is becoming a front-runner for best character this season. While most people wouldn't forgive Lily for hiding Carrie's phone when Big was trying to call her on the way to the wedding in the first Sex and the City movie, she is redeeming herself this season with this fun plotline.Everyone remembers their first crush how all-consuming it was, and how all you could think about was that person and the way looking at them made you feel. Well, And Just Like That finally got a real yearner this season. Lily (Cathy Ang), Charlotte's daughter, is crushing on one of the boys in the ballet class where she plays the piano (whom we caught a glimpse of in episode 1). They exchange glances and flirt throughout class (while she's playing the piano, nonetheless, and doesn't miss one note, which is pretty impressive). After class, the two are packing it on heavy, making out in the stairwell during their break. The women of this show have forgotten what it was like to yearn (because they're either married or in a relationship), and Lily is giving the young viewers of this show the start of a storybook romance that many people would devour if it were a YA novel. The actress who plays Lily perfectly balances a high-strung, high school kid with aspirations and responsibilities with a young girl navigating one of her first relationships.New episodes of And Just Like That season 3 drop every Thursday on Max.

This HIV Long-Term Survivor Day, listen to this leader from God's Love We Deliver
June 5, 1981, is widely understood as the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It was the first day that a scientific report from the CDC was released, describing an unclassified lung infection in healthy men that would later become known as AIDS in 1982. For years, the HIV/AIDS epidemic was largely ignored by the general public because it was thought to be a "gay disease." Since then, scientific advancements have been made to treat HIV before it develops into AIDS and allow people to live long and healthy lives.Sign up for the Out Newsletter to keep up with what's new in LGBTQ+ culture and entertainment delivered three times a week straight (well) to your inbox! For this reason, June 5th is now considered to be HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day. The day honors those who have been living with the virus for 10 or more years and raises awareness about the virus and educates the masses about what people who are living with the disease need, as well as prevention. A nonprofit called God's Love We Deliver has been doing work like this for four decades. This organization cooks and home-delivers medically tailored meals to people living with HIV, and/or are battling cancer, heart disease, and other illnesses. As it celebrates its 40th year, the nonprofit recently released a video about its work, featuring its Vice Chair on the Board of Directors, Michael Sennott. Sennott, who has been living with HIV for over 40 years, talks about the organization and why the work the group does is necessary. The Vice Chair starts off the video saying that the Stonewall Riots of 1969 was a wake-up call for gay life and leading up to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, he felt something shift in the queer community. Sennott says he went to a fundraising party with a group of friends in a car, and Larry Kramer was on a microphone telling people that people are dying from this disease ravaging the community. "That was the first time I was aware that something was wrong, and it was in our community," he said in the video. "I'm the only person alive who drove back in that car."Sennott goes on to say that everyone else who went to that party died within four years. Nobody was prepared to deal with the impact that this virus would have on the community, but he says that what emerged from this devastation was a response to take care of one another. "I was caring for my neighbor, my lover, somebody at work," he says in the video. "For the first time, I think it was the first time, I think it was individuals taking responsibility for other individuals and strangers." Sennott continues and says that one thing the AIDS epidemic and the COVID-19 pandemic taught the world is that there's a need for total care. "You need nutrition, you need housing, you need legal advice, you need all the rest of it to get through," and that's what God's Love We Deliver provides."The spirit of compassion gets tapped into in crisis, and I think it was the AIDS pandemic, and I think we can continue to demonstrate the importance of compassion."

Why Pride's revolutionary spirit matters more now
As parades and celebrations unfold this month and beyond, Pride comes at a moment when our community faces increasing hostility and intense challenges. Across the country, we have seen a troubling rise in hostility, discrimination, and legislative attacks targeting LGBTQ+ individuals. For many, Pride may look and feel different this year, filled not only with celebration but also resilience and determination. Many of these parades may echo the earlier ones that celebrated the moment that sparked the movement. Pride began not as a parade but as a riot with a courageous stand at Stonewall. Those initial sparks of resistance paved the way for decades of progress, achieved by no small feat through the tireless dedication of countless individuals. The Advocate, part of equalprides family of brands, has itself been a witness to the birth and evolution of the modern LGBTQ+ movement. Since 1967, The Advocate has been at the forefront, documenting and shaping the emerging narratives of activism and visibility. That ethos remains with our brands today: not only by sharing stories that impact our community but also by highlighting stories that have the power to inspire and empower individuals to live openly and freely.Support our work: Become our Advocate member.Stories that are needed now more than ever, even in the face of hostility. Our fight for justice is enduring. As we celebrate Pride this June and beyond, let us remember our roots and renew our commitment. Together, we can and will navigate these challenging times and emerge stronger and united in our ongoing pursuit of a world that is truly equal for all. With Pride, Mark BerryhillCEO, equalpride

  • Holmes On Overcompensating
    WWW.OUT.COM
'Overcompensating' star Holmes is getting flooded with DMs from 'mostly gay men'
Holmes wasn't initially meant to play Hailee in the wildly popular Prime Video show, Overcompensating. She originally auditioned to play Carmen, a freshman who forms a quick bond with the show's main protagonist, Benny, played by the creator and star, Benito Skinner. The role of Carmen ultimately went to Wally Baram, but the team loved Holmes, who uses she/they pronouns, and asked her to read for Carmen's self-assured, high-femme, supportive roommate, Hailee.Sign up for the Out Newsletter to keep up with what's new in LGBTQ+ culture and entertainment delivered three times a week straight (well) to your inbox! The role is a departure from their usual look, which typically consists of men's clothing, and it's not a character they are often asked to read for. "I don't know if it's that my queerness has not let me be able to be in the femme spaces as much, or if it's the fatphobia of this industry, but I was really excited."For the self-tape, Holmes put on a push-up bra, learned how to do makeup, contoured her face, and just had a blast, which perfectly captures the essence of who Hailee is in the show. She watched the tape back and made sure it made her laugh before sending it in, and it was a hit. The casting team loved Holmes's first tape, and after doing a few chemistry reads, she knew the part was hers because during the audition process, she noticed that Skinner was "so bad at hiding his face, and he was laughing so hard."@llureingare we out of chasers?? [cc svcubvs scp liarscp] #haileematthews #overcompensating #holmes #aestheticedits #edits #aftereffects #viral #xyzbca #fyp #fypage #foryoupageShortly after the show aired, Hailee (and the Overcompensating show) was a hit across social media platforms. Less than a week after the season premiered on Prime Video, it became the number 1 show on the platform in the United States and Canada. Her quotable one-liners were clipped for fan edits that were set to a Charli XCX song, a popular K-pop song, or any other popular song gaining momentum on TikTok at the time. The videos are garnering hundreds of thousands of likes on TikTok and spreading like wildfire across X. (@) There were multiple posts across social media that had captioned the videos, saying, "I wish she was my roommate."Coming from the improv world and cutting their teeth in Chicago, Holmes was given room to improvise a lot on the show. "Hailee was already written as the comedic relief in the show, so for Benny to be like 'You can improvise and make her more elevated,' was just really cool."@peopleIf your entire FYP isnt #HaileeMarieMatthews in #Overcompensating, that pisses #BenitoSkinner off! #GothamTVAwardsShe says that family, friends, and fans have sent her jokes that were made in the show, which people think she improvised. Like the moment when she says Carmen's brother's death "pisses [her] off," but makes sure to credit Skinner for that joke. But she did improvise the moment where she says, "Hailee Marie Matthews, also known as 'hmm.'" The joke she's most proud of is when she was fake orgasming on an actor's lap and said, "That's how easy it is to fake it." Skinner and the cast burst out laughing immediately after the camera cut, Holmes recalls, because they didn't know she was going to do that. The whole experience of playing Hailee has been very special to Holmes, and they feel very lucky. "I feel very grateful that the audience is like gays and girls," she says. "My DMs right now, mostly gay men," which she says is shocking because they're "a really picky crowd, I say as someone who a lot of my best friends are gay men, so it means the world that I made them proud." But with all this newfound attention, she's trying to stay humble and live by some sage wisdom her friend imparted to her: "Never let your best set mean too much or your worst set mean too much."The show has yet to be renewed for season 2, but the experience of playing Hailee is something they'll never forget. "I think I'll never get to play a part like that again in my career, unless we get a second season, but I'm forever grateful to Benny and Scott King (the showrunner) for seeing me as an actor," Holmes says. "I'm just really grateful it's helped show my range, because all I want to do is be able to act, so badly."@stofichiI'm so her #fyp #stofichi #overcompensating #diva #edit #haileeWhen asked what Holmes hopes for Hailee in season 2, they say that audiences may have picked up on clues about what could be explored, saying, "I gave some hints to it throughout the season, maybe when she's drunk, that Hailee doesn't know everything about her sexuality yet."Overcompensating is now streaming on Prime Video.
