AOC says rising healthcare costs are funding ICE: You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) continues to express her outrage over the death of Renee Nicole Good, a queer wife and mother who was shot three times by ICE agent Jonathan Ross while driving away from him. In a recent conversation with a reporter, Ocasio-Cortez drew a direct connection between increasing health care costs and the funding ICE has been allotted to wage its terror campaign in blue cities. Related AOC says ICE has become an anti-civilian, paramilitary org after an agent murdered a queer woman Were seeing what they are doing with this reckless explosion in funding, and mind you I want everybody to understand: The cuts to your healthcare are whats paying for this. All that extra money that everybodys paying right now in their premiums Nearly a trillion dollars in health care was taken out and given to ICE. So understand how these dots connect, she continued. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face. That is what this administration is doing. Thats what the Republican party did. Meanwhile, the bill provides ICE with $75 billion over four years. According to the Brennan Center for Justice, the $11.25 billion allocated specifically for detaining immigrants marks a 400% increase over last years budget and exceeds the Department of Justices 2026 budget request for the entire federal prison system. The bill also allocates more than $170 billion over four years to overall border and interior enforcement, more than the annual budgets of every local and state law enforcement agency in the country combined.
