Christian nationalist hate pastor Joel Webbon invited neo-Nazi influencer Nick Fuentes onto his show, where they both pushed the idea that maybe Adolf Hitler and fascism werent so bad after all. Their conversation is just the latest example of the right-wingers embracing Fuentes and his extremist views.In a recent broadcast, Fuentes said the anti-Nazi phrase never again refers to a mindset that espouses, Never again will we allow a Hitler to come to power and to [cause] a Holocaust against the Jews or the gypsies or the gays or the disabled or whoever you know, the enemies of the state. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Fuentes called it a founding myth that opposition to Hitlers totalitarian fascism, his genocidal death camps, and deadly worldwide militarism necessitates a society where tolerance, multiracialism, religious pluralism has to be the new doctrine.What [believers of this myth] work out, basically is we cannot have an exclusionary nationalism, cannot have the kind of unity that they had in Nazi Germany they say is what created that the kind of pride in race nation, God that kind of cohesion that leads necessarily to exclusion, necessarily to persecution, Fuentes told Webbon. Webbon called it the post-war consensus that the answer to why America cant have nice things is because Hitler. In this case, nice things probably refers to Christian Nationalism.Webbon then said that Hollywood films over the last 80 years have put a lot of money, a lot of time, a lot of writing, a lot of effort has gone into, you know, to really building upon, you know, and solidifying this myth that that Hitler was the worst person to ever live, and the fascism is the scariest thing that theres ever been. I just dont find it compelling that hes the worst guy ever, you know.Webbon then said he believes the atrocities of the Holocaust were probably not as bad as weve been told, and that Hitler didnt even know necessarily some of the things that were going on. In June 2024, Webbon went off ondegenerate gays, saying that death, as a maximum penalty, would act as a deterrent to homosexuality. He also heartily agreed with a guest that17% of gay men regularly eat feces.Webbon has also previously said that Black civil rights leaderMartin Luther King Jr. is in Helland that racist, slave-owning Confederate leaders are in Heaven.Fuentes hasreferredto Black people as n-words, said that the GOP is run by Jews, atheists, and homosexuals, describedAdolfHitleras really fu**ing cool, has cast doubt that the Holocaust happened, said perfidious Jews must be given the death penalty after we take power,and said, A lot of womenwant to be raped They want a guy tobeat the s**t out of them.The leader of the massively influential GOP think tank, the Heritage Foundation, called Fuentes a friend to Republicans after right-wing broadcaster Tucker Carlson held a softball interview with Fuentes without challenging any of his extremist views.
