Gay Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is hiding evidence of Jeffrey Epsteins crimes, senator says
Even though both chambers of Congress voted Tuesday to release government files on deceased child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) accused gay Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent of hiding other files that could reveal more vital information about Epsteins crimes and his accomplices.On Tuesday, the House voted 427-1 in favor of a bill to release the files, and the Senate supported the bill by unanimous consent later that day. The vote followed months of the president repeatedly calling the files a Democratic hoax even as he pressured Republican Congress members to oppose their release. The Treasury Department has its own Epstein file containing thousands of bank records. My investigators reviewed a portion of those records last year, Wyden continued. Ive demanded the Secretary Bessent produce the file for further investigation. He has refused repeatedly. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Wyden said that the Treasury records would help reveal where Epstein got his money, how he acquired and controlled his victims, who he trafficked them to, which individuals and banks enabled Epsteins misdeeds, who else had control of Epsteins accounts, and what crimes they committed.Bessents not only hiding these docs, he bizarrely claimed Treasury has no role investigating them at all, Wyden continued. Its a lie. Its impossible someone with his background doesnt know about Treasurys extensive role investigating the kinds of fnancial crimes Epstein must have been committing. Wyden said that Attorney General Pam Bondi must now comply with the congressional bill requiring the Department of Justice to release its Epstein files, but added, But our work cannot stop there. We need to force the Treasury to release the Epstein bank records too.
