Keith Urban sings Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club' at Mar-a-Lago for Trump
God, what has he done?Academy Award-winning actor Nicole Kidman's ex-husband, Australian country singer Keith Urban, is igniting controversy for a strange song choice while performing for Donald Trump and billionaires at Mar-a-Lago.According to a video posted to the Instagram account @agirlhasnopresident, Urban performed an acoustic set at a private party hosted by billionaire Anthony Pratt at the Trump-owned Florida resort. At the Saturday gathering, he sang a cover of lesbian singer Chappell Roan's gay bar-themed hit "Pink Pony Club," leading many to question the motivation behind the song choice."Well... I can't help but wonder how @chappellroan feels about Kieth Urban singing her song at Mar a Lago," @agirlhasnopresident" wrote. "Was that song choice ironic?" See on Instagram The video, originally posted by the Instagram user @tali.florida, who attended the party, shows Urban performing Chappell Roan's anthem about queer acceptance in front of a graphic showing an American flag. Another clip shows President Trump attending the party."President Trump at Anthony Prett (who just so generously pledged 5 Billion Dollars toward American manufacturing projects) holiday party at the Mar a lago #palmneach [sic] great food, lots of French fries, Amazing people and great entertainment by Keith Urban," the guest wrote.Roan has said that "Pink Pony Club" was inspired by the first time she went to the gay bar The Abbey after moving to Los Angeles from Missouri. "All of a sudden, I realized I could truly be any way I wanted to be, and no one would bat an eye, she said in an interview with Headliner Magazine. "It was so different from home, where I always had such a hard time being myself and felt like Id be judged for being different or being creative. I just felt overwhelmed with complete love and acceptance, and from then on I started writing songs as the real me."
