The post also included screenshots of a heat map that was concentrated in Phoenix close to Glendale, where the memorial was held and a website called Downdetector, which provides real-time reports of outages for various websites.The post quickly garnered thousands of likes and reposts, spreading to other platforms like Reddit and Facebook. (@) In response, the fact-checking website Snopes noted, "Downdetector's information is crowdsourced and any user can report an outage," adding that Grindr itself did not report an outage. A representative for Grindr echoed those points in a statement for Out, which reads, "As noted on Grindr's status page, there were no outage reports on September 21." The app's status page reports when the platform has issues and notifies users when they get resolved.
