The 2025 VMAs took place last night, where Lady Gaga was honored with the Artist of the Year, and Ariana Grande won Video of the Year for "brighter days ahead."This year, Ricky Martin was honored with the first-ever Latin Icon award following an electric performance of some of his biggest hits.Martin dedicated the award to his four kids and to his fans, saying, "This is very simple. This is for you all. I'm addicted to your applause. Thats why I keep coming back. Its you, not only here in America, but all over the world."But that's not all!! Martin, known for his sexy photo posts, also shared a pre-show shirtless selfie, revealing he had a wardrobe malfunction just before he took the stage!Martin wasn't the only one to make headlines, as Sabrina Carpenter took the stage to perform her new song "Tears" and brought along several RuPaul's Drag Race queens to advocate for trans rights while she did it.Carpenter was joined by queens including Denali, Willam, Symone, Laganja Estranja, and Lexi Love, who all held up signs advocating for trans rights. Signs said things like, "If you hate, you'll never get laid," "protect trans rights," "support local drag," "dolls, dolls, dolls," and "In trans we trust."In her speech accepting Best Album for Short n' Sweet, Carpenter added to her message."To my queens: This world, as we all know, can be so full of criticism and discrimination and negativity," she said. So to get to be part of something so more often than not, that can bring you light, make you smile, make you dance, and make you feel like the world is yours I'm so grateful.
