Are you ready for this Boots?!See on InstagramNetflix's upcoming LGBTQ+ series, Boots, centers on Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh) navigating a tough and volatile environment in the Marine Corps in the 1990s. Cameron happens to be closeted, and goes on to join a "diverse group of recruits" who try to do their best while serving the Marines.Boots is a TV adaptation of The Pink Marine, a memoir written by former US Marine Greg Cope White.Some folks are into that, so we're happy for them.Netflix's official blog, Tudum, describes Boots as a show all about "friendship, resilience, and finding your place in the world even when that world seems determined to keep you in line or leave you behind."Vera Farmiga, the icon that you are.Heizer's character, Cameron, reportedly lives with his "narcissistic mother," Barbara, who is played by Vera Farmiga. A character description notes that "Barbara is a chameleon and someone who's always on the run due to the consequences of her actions but she becomes unmoored when Cameron ships out."Miles Heizer staring right at us."Boots was easily the hardest and most fun thing I've ever been a part of," Heizer told Tudum. "The show is interesting because it manages to find the humor in a very intense experience, which is the only way to live, in my opinion! It's also rare in that it's 50% acting and 50% actually struggling through training and DI screams."We're shipping these two already.Ray the son of a strict Marine father is Cameron's closest and most loyal best friend. The character, played by Oh, "carries the pressure of having to be best at all times," but that becomes a bit harder once he actually gets to boot camp.These two mean business."There really isn't another show like Boots. It's very funny, uplifting, and has a particularly great soundtrack. You'll laugh, you'll cheer, and I'm sorry, but you'll probably cry as well," Heizer warned fans in his interview with Tudum.Is the bus still running?Bald on bald on bald.With an eight-episode run, Boots is a project from series creator and co-showrunner Andy Parker, showrunner Jennifer Cecil, and the late, great Normal Lear credited as an executive producer.Oh, heyyy!Heizer told Tudum, "Due to the group nature of boot camp, we were essentially together all day, every day of filming and got incredibly close. In a way, the show sort of mirrors our real experience of meeting, coming together, and forming a very deep bond by the end. I truly feel a phantom boot camp connection to all of these boys."These boots are made for walking And running.Another standout character is Sgt. Sullivan (Max Parker), who's described as the "consummate elite Recon Marine. He has been decorated for valor on numerous top-secret missions, but struggles to keep his own secret hidden. Haunted by his past, Sullivan sees himself in Cameron and tries to prepare him for the same personal war he'll face beyond boot camp."Judgmental faces from Vera Farmiga?
