Jonathan Bennett shares husband Jaymes Vaughan's rare health condition
Jonathan Bennett, star of 2004's Mean Girls, shared an emotional video of his husband, Jaymes Vaughan, eating for the first time after struggling with a condition that made it nearly impossible to eat without vomiting. The actor shared a clip of the two of them out having breakfast with text that reads: "My husband has a condition that made it impossible for him to eat without throwing up for almost his entire adult life. Yesterday, he got the procedure to open up his throat, and this is his first meal after fixing whats called a Schatzki ring." See on Instagram In the caption, Bennett explained more in-depth about his husband's health journey. "A Schatzki ring, also known as a lower esophageal ring, is a ring of tissue that forms at the lower end of the esophagus, near where it connects with the stomach. It can make eating incredibly difficult," he wrote. "Sharing this in case it could help someone who has this condition but didnt know about it for 20 years, like my husband."Vaughan is seen tearing up in the video as he eats an omelette and hash browns. Im emotional Im eating!The video was met with an outpouring of support from Bennett's followers who loved watching Vaughan's emotional reaction, but also for raising awareness. "Oh my goodness, thank you for sharing. I might have this and will talk to my doctor about it!! So glad the surgery went well," one person wrote. Another person said, "You can hear the emotion in his questions. I cant imagine what this is like for both of you to have this relief."
