JD Vance's "hidden tastes" on Spotify have been revealed and they include a taste for Whitney and boy bands.The vice president is one of the many Trump administration officials to have their Spotify playlists leaked in by a website called Panama Playlists, a reference to Panama Papers, a 2016 leak that revealed offshore accounts of wealthy people. The website, which was initially reported on by WIRED, was anonymously published and has text that reads, "I found the real Spotify accounts of celebrities, politicians, and journalists. Many use their real names. With a little investigating, I could say with near-certainty: Yep, this is that person."The text continues, "Some individuals even have a setting enabled that displays their last played song. I scraped this continuously, so I know what songs they played, how many times, and when. It concludes by saying, "The Panama Papers revealed hidden bank accounts. This reveals hidden tastes. One of those people whose listening habits were revealed in this leak was Vance. The account that allegedly belongs to the vice president has public playlists called "Gold on the Ceiling," seemingly a reference to the newly announced $200 million changes to the White House ballroom, including two large flagpoles and new gold decorations.On this playlists, listeners can find a number of queer anthems, including "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston. There's also hits by boy bands like "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction and "I Want it That Way" by the Backstreet Boys on a second playlist called "Making Dinner." That second playlist also includes songs like "One Time" by Justin Bieber and two Florence + The Machine songs.Other Trump officials who had their listening habits leaked online were Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a vocal opponent of the LGBTQ+ community who had a playlist with Queen, Elton John, and Miley Cyrus; Attorney General Pam Bondi; and Jacob Helberg, a gay nominee for U.S. under secretary of State for economic growth, energy, and the environment.
