The first trailer for the new indie film The Threesome from Star Thrower Entertainment follows the chaotic story of some 20-somethings who dive in way over their heads. The juicy love triangle revolves around Oliva (Zoey Deutch), Connor (Jonah Hauer-King), and Jenny, played by Bottoms star Ruby Cruz. So here's the tea: Connor has feelings for Olivia, but he's stuck in the friend zone. When Jenny enters the picture, he uses her attention to make Olivia jealous, but it unexpectedly leads to an impulsive threesome between all three of the singles. What could've been just a one-night fling becomes a life-altering event when both women wind up pregnant. And of course, comedian Jaboukie Young-White is on the scene to add more fuel to the fire as Connor's friend Greg. When Greg sees Jenny for the first time after the fiasco, he asks Connor, "She's beautiful! Is she still up for a threesome?"The trailer is stacked with charm, familial drama, and laugh-out-loud moments, so we'll certainly be tuning in. Actors Josh Segarra, Robert Longstreet, Arden Myrin, Kristin Slaysman, Allan McLeod, and Julia Sweeney also star in the upcoming film. The Threesome was written by Ethan Ogilby and directed by Chad Hartigan, and Tim White, Trevor White, Vince Jolivette, and Steve Shapiro are listed as producers.Trend alert! Explorations of threesomes have grown in the last few years in film and television. Just recently, on the Emmy-winning series Hacks, one of the main characters, Ava, found herself in a complicated throuple with a man and a woman. Looks like the once-controversial topic continues to intrigue and inspire new and interesting stories, and push the boundaries of LGBTQ+ representation.
