Nicki Minaj is no stranger to taking digs at people on social media, and recently, SZA got caught in the crossfire after Minaj seemed to have interpreted one of SZA's posts on X to be about her. Last week, the Queens rapper uploaded a barrage of posts to X, discussing Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and Megan Thee Stallion. She laughed at Megan and Roc Nation after a judge denied their request to dismiss Megan's 2024 lawsuit, where her employee alleged that she had sex with a woman in a vehicle that he was also in. Minaj also taunted Jay-Z, claiming he owed her money from the sale of the streaming service Tidal, which Minaj had a stake in. (@) Then, Minaj set her sights on SZA after Minaj posted about SZA's former manager, Terrence "Punch" Henderson, president of the Top Dawg Entertainment label, and said he was "bullying" her after she "rejected his business proposition on more than one occasion. She poked fun at him, claiming not to remember his name and giving him the nickname "minus 30 million." (@) SZA, who is currently signed to TDE and was managed by Punch up until December, uploaded her first post to X in about two weeks, given that she's currently on a stadium world tour with Kendrick Lamar. The post reads, "Mercury retrograde .. dont take the bait lol silly goose. (@) This caught the attention of Minaj, who felt the tweet was about her, so she responded to the post, telling SZA to "go draw [her] freckles back on" and said she sounds "like a fkng dead dog." Minaj responded to the same tweet again, saying, "Shut up ugly," and in a separate post, continued to make fun of SZA, saying she was "looking & sounding like she got stung by a fucking bee." (@) This spat continued to be a focal point for Minaj as she and her fans continued to harass SZA online, uploading post after post about SZA's appearance, her status as a celebrity, and her music sales. (@) (@) Minaj and her fans continued to upload posts, one of which SZA responded to. A Barb (Minaj's fan army) posted to X and wrote, "you really dont wanna start this girl if you was crying before, you really gon cry now when the bar(b)z get at you." SZA replied saying, "I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love. IN REAL LIFE. My parents are healthy and Im the most successful I ever been. GET SOME FUCKING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL !!!" (@) SZA then goes on to confirm that her original tweet about Mercury being in retrograde was not about anyone in particular. "I wasnt even talking about or to anyone I had just got off stage talkin bout retrograde," she wrote.
