'Wicked: For Good' TV special to feature Ariana and Cynthiahere's what we know
NBC announced that Wicked fans will be treated to a television special on November 6 featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo singing live. In a press release, NBC outlined that fans of the movie can look forward to "maybe, just maybe, a little bit from the upcoming film."While the world speculates on what would be taking place during this two-hour special, we can't help but wish that the original Broadway cast would come back and sing a few songs with their movie counterparts. Instead of doing just a duet of "Defying Gravity," there should be a four-person collaboration between Erivo and Grande with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth and Jonathan Bailey needs to come out to do "Dancing Through Life" Norbert Leo Butz.The movie also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Peter Dinklage, who are all set to make their return for the second movie, due out November 21, just two weeks after the special airs.Wicked quickly became a runaway success after it was released at the end of last year and went on to become the most successful Broadway musical adaptation in history, grossing over $750 million and winning two Academy Awards (one for production design and the other for costume design).
