The series garnered a devoted fan base and became an instant cult classic, despite being canceled after its first season in 2005. Ten years later, HBO released season 2 of The Comeback.On Friday, June 27, Kudrow has officially announced that The Comeback season 3 is coming and queer fans couldn't be more excited."This is the last one, alright, the last time. Never doing this again," Kudrow says, in full Valerie Cherish drag, in this video announcement. "Well, I've got a new show. How's that? And I'm so excited about it!"In the clip, Cherish's director doesn't think that she announced the new show with enough energy, and pushes her to keep doing it over and over again until Cherish storms off."Should I turn the camera off?" the cameraman asks."NoI'm pretty sure she'll come back," the director says.In addition to Kudrow, series regulars Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young are also returning."Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape. Neither of us are surprised she did," King and Kudrow say in a statement.Season 3 begins production this summer and will debut on HBO Max in 2026.
