Happy Pride from Brian SimsBrian Sims is baring his body in celebration of Pride.Sims a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the current CEO of Agenda PAC, which advocates for LGBTQ+ representation in politics shared a series of intimate portraits of himself to social media Thursday in order to be "loud" and "proud" during the rainbow season.The photos Sims poses both shirtless and in a pair of Calvin Kleins, in color and black and white were shot on March 25 in Brooklyn by celebrity photographer Andrs Oyuela (@andresoyuela), an opportunity that Sims couldn't pass up."Being asked to do a photoshoot with Andrs Oyuela was something I never expected, so when it happened, I hydrated, I moisturized, and then we took these photos," Sims tells Out. "And yes, I'm posting them during Pride because queer joy is political and irreverent. Being out, visible, and confident is an act of resistance when we're all under attack every day. Let's be loud. Let's be proud."Sims made headlines in January for marrying his partner Alex Drakos; they rushed the nuptials in order to wed before the second inauguration of President Donald Trump. He urged other queer couples to tie the knot as well for fear that LGBTQ+ rights like marriage equality would roll back in a new conservative era."Right now while we still have the fruits of what so many advocates fought years for, we should avail ourselves of them while we continue to fight to defend them and expand them," he told Out. "But [these] are very treacherous times we're going into, and having the protections of the law[is] an assurance that I think everyone deserves.
