Exclusive: Beloved queer web series 'Bloomers' returns 7 years after creator's passing
A beloved queer web series is coming back after seven years.Bloomers, created by Matt Palazzolo, is a web series that ran for two seasons, from 2012 to 2013, about a group of friends navigating sexuality and success in downtown Los Angeles. The show followed a group of seven friends running an underwear company, and garnered fans for its funny and heartfelt take on queer life and young adulthood.Sadly, before the third season was released, Palazzolo, who also starred in the show and was an LGBTQ+ activist, passed away unexpectedly while hiking in Australia. The series sat fully written and filmed, but unedited and unfinished, for nearly seven years before executive producer Evan Monheit finished the job. Now, it's coming back."I quit my day job and made it my mission to finish the series in Matt's honor," Monheit says. "I didnt realize it at that moment, but over the course of making the show, I was able to finally grieve for Matt and find some sort of closure. I had never gotten to say goodbye to him he was gone so fast and now I had an opportunity to spend all this time with him. Ive spent the last one and a half years serving as the entire post team (editor, composer, mixer, colorist, everything) to bring it to completion as faithfully as possible."Palazzolo starred in the series alongside Fernanda Espndola, Jay Ali, Nathan Frizzell, Swati Kapila, Kristin Barker, and Holly Holstein.Bloomers season 3, titled Bloomers The Lost Season, will release one to two episodes weekly on YouTube starting June 25.Check out the exclusive trailer for the third season below!
