Pride season is finally upon us! Now that our favorite time of year is finally here, its time to start organizing your calendar so you can fit in as many parades, parties, and protests as possible. Pride Month has always been about protest as much as celebration, but with the LGBTQ+ community under attack from the Trump administration and conservative politicians all over America, it is more important than ever for us to stand together, show our strength, fight back against an oppressive government, celebrate our collective queer joy, and party the night away. Yes, we need to fight, but Pride Month is also about coming together in community to have fun together and forget your worries for a while surrounded by other queer people. So lets all come together in solidarity, demand our civil rights, and celebrate with a month-long party! The festivities kicked off with Trans Pride on May 17 and will continue for the next three weeks where there will be LGBTQ+ rallies, seminars, parties, after parties, and after-after parties, including Black Pride, Latin Pride, and AAPI Pride. The festival will have a Red Light District, a Main Stage, a Dance Pavillion, and a Childrens stage. There will be live performances, including a Ru Queens Drag Show starring Adore Delano, Raja Gemini, Nina West, Willow Pill, and Jan Sport, and a showcase of hot men with the Homme Fatale: All Male Show. This year, P-town will kick off Pride with a party headlined by none other than Lady Gaga and Beyonc. This year, the theme is Empower, Unite, Fight, Thrive and the festival will be in a brand new location at Civic Plaza.
