Mandy Moore's family taken in by Hilary Duff after losing home in LA wildfires
Hilary Duff and husband Matthew Koma have opened their home to fellow aughts pop icon Mandy Moore and her family amidst the ongoing wildfires plaguing Los Angeles.Moore previously shared images of the devastation wreaked upon her Altadena home in the Eaton fire, noting that the main part of their house was left "miraculously...not livable but mostly intact.""We lost our garage and back house," she wrote on Instagram. "Everyone we know lost everything. Every house on our street is gone."Like many others, Moore and her family turned to loved ones for a temporary place to stay as they try to figure out what to do next. A recent Instagram post shared by her brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, revealed that it was Duff and Koma who stepped up to take the This Is Us star in."Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a gofundme for us to help with everything moving forward," he said. "Not to mention they are currently housing my brother's family. They've taken care of my entire family from the moment this began. I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another."Goldsmith is the brother and bandmate to Moore's husband, Taylor Goldsmith. She had previously shared that their music studio "with every instrument and piece of equipment they've ever owned" was among the losses they suffered in the fire. His post also highlighted the reality that many families in areas impacted by the fire are currently experiencing not just a loss of their own homes, but of the community they built in the area.See on Instagram"We had convinced our whole family and closest friends to join us in Altadena. Our parents were around the corner. They lost their house as well," he wrote. "Taylor and Mandy are just down the street. Kit's best childhood best friend Chelsey and her husband Michael live about six blocks away. Wylie and his wife Clara are two blocks from us. Our first crew member and very old friend, Jake, and his wife Andy are just down the street. All of these houses are gone."On Monday night, the brothers performed their band's song, "Time Spent in Los Angeles," on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as part of a fundraising effort for musicians affected by the fires.
