GOP senator ruthlessly mocked for saying hurricane victims dont need tampons
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) is being mocked on social media for his ignorance about menstruating people after he criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for discussing tampons on a podcast while victims of Hurricane Helene are still recovering from the storms devastation. Finally, last couple of days, the vice president goes on some show called Call Her Daddy or Call Your Daddy or Whos Your Daddy or something and among other things, shes talking about tampons, Kennedy said while speaking with Fox News Sean Hannity on October 7. Related Marjorie Taylor Greene still finds time to attack trans kids as Georgia reels from hurricane Greene literally thinks Democrats created this hurricane to ravage the South yet is somehow still focused on taking rights from trans youth. Kennedy was referring to Harris recent appearance on Call Her Daddy, a massively popular womens empowerment podcast. Harris laughed and then mentioned that she was the first vice president in history to visit a reproductive health clinic.Coopers brief comment was the only mention of tampons during the entire podcast.Nevertheless, continuing to criticize Harris, Kennedy said, You know, the people of Appalachia right now dont give a function about tampons. They need water. They need to get out. Im sorry, Ill say it again: You cannot make this stuff up.However, numerous commenters on X mocked Kennedy for not recognizing that people who menstruate still need associated hygiene products while recovering from a natural disaster. Diapers, tampons, pads, wet wipes are DESPERATELY needed after a natural disaster. Does this fake hayseed fuckwitted cockwomble understand anything? At all? Tropical overruled, sit down (@TropicalVertic1) October 8, 2024 The people of Appalachia don't want to hear an intelligent convo w Kamala, but they're dying to hear what this caveman who is freaked out by menstruation has to say about the interview, that he hasn't heard.#MAGAlogic Charlotte Banks (@Joanna_Wearsa) October 8, 2024Homeless shelters always say they don't get enough tampons when people donate stuff to them. There are a lot of homeless people in Western NC right now menstruating, and a lot of them don't have tampons and are trying to figure out how to get them. Charlotte Banks (@Joanna_Wearsa) October 8, 2024 Well the MEN may not be thinking about tampons, but I guarantee you female survivors between puberty and menopause ARE. Perhaps what Senator Foghorn Leghorn means is that the only people of Appalachia who matter arent thinking about tampons. We are no one. Glad we got that straight and could get on to more important business. Ferol Humphrey (@ferolhumphrey) October 8, 2024I think Senator Johnson means that women and girls don't count as "people". Maiasma in Michigan (@maiainmi) October 8, 2024 These men are the dumbest mfs. It's astonishing and scary that they are in positions of power. Always great to get another hourly reminder of just how deep and twisted their hatred for women really is. I've never been afraid of immigrants. Guys like this scare the shit out of me. Diana Prince (@Diana_E_Prince) October 8, 2024Women literally think about access to tampons and other menstruation supplies every month for about 40 years. Men who think tampons arent an important subject can f right off. suns out (@HillckHill) October 8, 2024 I think he means that menstruation stops if the President declares a natural disaster https://t.co/YY8kewVFPa Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) October 8, 2024Who knew Dems could control weather, hurricane paths, and menstrual cycles during government caused extreme weather events. MtnGrl (@MtnGrl4) October 8, 2024 If he talked To women instead of At women, he might find out what they care about. A number one item for young women, poor women, and homeless women is Tampons, because if you cant afford food, you cant afford a basic female hygiene product. In my city, they are free at schools THEE Mame (@mame6432) October 8, 2024The women on their periods, who are having to deal with endless bleeding, in the middle of a major crisis natural disaster, would solidly disagree with that absolutely f*cking moron. Phoenix_Ranger_ProdigalSon (@Phoenix_Ranger2) October 8, 2024Well, everyone knows a woman's body just shuts down that way. It instinctively knows that "now's not a good time" in a way it doesn't when you wear white pants. HolyGuacamole! Helene is the deadliest hurricane to hit the mainland U.S. since Katrina in 2005.
