WWW.PRIDE.COMOur 10 most anticipated LGBTQ+ books of 2025The library is OPEN!No, really, the library is open, and libraries across the country need our support now more than ever. One of the best ways you can do so is by utilizing their services, like checking out the new queer books coming out next year!If "read more" is one of your 2025 New Year's resolutions, you're in luck. 2025 is packed full of LGBTQ+ new releases. Whether it's from returning favorite queer authors or one of the promising debuts, fiction or nonfiction, there is an abundance of queer books coming out next year that we cannot wait to get our hands on!Here are the top 10 LGBTQ+ books we're most excited to read in 2025."Murder in the Dressing Room" by Holly StarsSee on InstagramMurder in the Dressing Room is the debut novel from UK comedian, writer, and drag queen Holly Stars. When drag queen Lady Lady is found dead in her dressing room, her fellow performers all become the prime suspects, including her own drag daughter, Misty Divine! The police have been predictably less than helpful, so it's up to Misty to figure out who poisoned Lady and why before they strike again.Murder mysteries have an inherent amount of campiness to them, so a drag murder mystery is honestly a no brainer. I'm also a firm believer that you should judge a book by its cover, and if I wasn't sold before, the cover illustration by the immensely talented Roosa Mari makes this a standout on any shelf.Murder in the Dressing Room comes out January 14, 2025 from Berkley Books, and is available for preorder here."The Loves of My Life" by Edmund White (@) From Lambda Literary Award winning author Edmund White comes an honest and loving memoir spanning over 60 years of gay love and sex. The Loves of My Life: A Sex Memoir follows White across a vast array of time and place. It's a love letter to all the things great and small, beautiful and ugly, about queer sex and the culture around it. It's also a fascinating vignette of gay culture in America for the past 70-odd years. A true can't miss from one of the American gay literary canon's greats. The Loves of My Life: A Sex Memoir releases January 28, 2025 from Bloomsbury Publishing, and is available for preorder here. "Stag Dance" by Torrey PetersSee on InstagramFrom Torrey Peters, author of the New York Times best selling author of Detransition, Baby, comes her much anticipated follow up, Stag Dance, a collection of one novel and three novellas. Stag Dance, the eponymous novel, follows a group of lumberjacks putting on a dance where some of them will attend as women. When the largest, burliest, and most unassuming looking of the men decides that he will attend a woman, he finds himself in competition with one of the younger, prettier men, all coming to a head on the night of the big dance. Accompanying Stag Dance are three novellas: "Infect Your Friends and Loved Ones," "The Chaser," and "The Masker."Stag Dance releases on March 11, 2025 from Random House, and is available for preorder here. "Stop Me If You've Heard This One" by Kristen ArnettSee on InstagramI, personally, have been actively excited about this one since September 2023. Kristen Arnett, New York Times bestselling author of With Teeth and Mostly Dead Things and the internet's cool lesbian dad. Arnett's work is actually a huge part of why I wanted to become a writer, and I couldn't be more excited for her third novel, Stop Me If You've Heard This One, about a down on her luck lesbian clown and the connection she forms with a hot older magician.Things could be worse for Cherry Hendricks, but things could also be better. Cherry is a professional clown and good at it too but still has to pick up shifts at the aquarium for some extra cash. She's also struggling to balance dating, her relationships with her fellow performers, and her judgmental mother. It's a lot to juggle, even for a clown. But everything changes when Cherry meets Margot the Magnificent, a hot, older, lesbian magician who seemingly has everything figured out. Stop Me If You've Heard This One releases March 18, 2025 from Riverhead Books, and is available for preorder here."Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert" by Bob the Drag QueenSee on InstagramFrom RuPaul's Drag Race season 8 winner and stand up comedian Bob the Drag Queen comes her debut novel, Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert. It takes place in a modern day US where histories greatest heroes have inexplicably come back, including Harriet Tubman. Tubman, along with four formerly enslaved men whom she helped free, decide to tell their story via a hip-hop album and accompanying live performance. She enlists the help of Darnell Williams, a hip hop producer who was highly successful before being outed. Together, they must find a way to confront a dark past in the hopes of building a brighter future.Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert releases March 25, 2025 from Gallery Books, and is available for preorder here."Awakened" by A.E. OsworthSee on InstagramA.E. Osworth's sophomore novel, Awakened, is full of things I love (trans people) fighting to save the world from things I hate (AI). It's another one I've been stoked for for month, from another author who's been hugely influential to me as a writer, with another cover I can't stop looking at. 2025 is really stacking up to be a bang up year for books.Awakened follows Wilder, a 30-something queer from Brooklyn, who wakes up one morning to find they now have the magical ability to understand every language. They are then taken in by a coven of trans witches, each with a unique magical ability of their own. As Wilder is finally starting to get the hang of this whole magic thing, a malicious AI threatens the fate of the coven- and the world. This ragtag bunch are the only ones who have any hope of stopping the AI before it's too late.Awakened releases on April 29, 2025 from Grand Central Publishing, and is available for preorder here."The Emperor of Gladness" by Ocean VuongSee on InstagramOcean Vuong is a literary genius, and in a real "I'd listen to Chapell Roan sing the phone book" situation, Vuong is one of those authors I'll read anything from. Prose or poetry, regardless of premise, I'll pick up anything he writes because it is always, without fail, an ineffably moving slice of the human experience. As a big fan of Vuong's work, I do think that his upcoming novel, The Emperor of Gladness, may be my favorite yet.In East Gladness, Conn., 19-year-old Hai stands on a bridge, ready to jump. He's only stopped when he hears shouting from across the river from Grazina, an elderly widow with dementia. After coming down off the ledge, Hai quickly becomes Grazina's caretaker, and the two form an intense bond that alters both of their lives. The Emperor of Gladness releases May 13, 2025 from Penguin Press, and is available for preorder here."Marsha" by TourmalineSee on InstagramModel, activist, and foremost Marsha P. Johnson scholar Tourmaline is finally compiling all she's gathered about the trans pioneer into a book, the first-ever full biography of Johnson. For more on Marsha: The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson, we published an article in October featuring everything we know so far and an interview with Tourmaline about the project, and why Johnson means so much to her personally.Marsha: The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson releases May 20, 2025 from Tiny Reparations Books, and is available for preorder here."Disappoint Me" by Nicola DinanSee on InstagramNicola Dinan, the Lambda Literary Award nominated author of Bellies (a personal favorite), returns for her sophomore novel, Disappoint Me, following a trans poet's somewhat serious head injury and the changes it inspires her to make. Max, a 30-year-old published poet now working for a tech company, is feeling dissatisfied and disillusioned. After falling down the stairs at a New Year's Eve party and hitting her head, she decides there's no time like the present to give it all up and try being a trad wife for a change.Max meets Vincent, a Chinese-American corporate lawyer with a love of baking, and the two begin a romance the likes of which Max had only dreamed of experiencing. As idyllic as it seems, the heteronormative American dream isn't enough. Max and Vincent still have to navigate the complexities of their pasts, their families, and cultural expectations of race and gender if they want their dream-like romance to remain a reality.Disappoint Me releases May 27, 2025 from Dial Press, and is available for preorder here."The Build-a-Boyfriend Project" by Mason DeaverSee on InstagramMason Deaver, best selling and award winning author of young adult fiction, makes their adult fiction debut with a sappy, compelling, and queer twist on fake dating romances. The Build-a-Boyfriend Project follows Eli Francis and his job at online magazine Vent, where he would be a writer if his boss wasn't so determined to keep him stuck being his assistant. After Eli's boss hears about Eli's horrendous date with the good looking yet socially awkward Peter Park, he suggests Eli teach Peter how to date and be a better boyfriend, all so Eli can write an article about it.Eli keeps taking Peter on these simulated dates, but not to write the article he'd been assigned. He's interviewing Peter for a deeper piece on growing up queer in the South, and Peter's learning how to come-of-age for dating as an adult. But as Eli's interviews go deeper, so grows their connection, until he's not sure how simulated these dates are anymore. The Build-a-Better Boyfriend Project releases August 5, 2025 from Avon Books, and is available for preorder here.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 3 Ansichten 0 VorschauPlease log in to like, share and comment!

WWW.PRIDE.COMHow I survived 40 days and 40 nights without Grindr & what it taught me about gay cultureWe've come to an interesting place in the world of gay dating. Queer culture was once a vibrant underground scene that was, for the most part, all-inclusive a consortium of gay men, drag queens, and lesbians taking refuge in the few places where they could congregate and cruise, just as long as they avoided the cops. But that was the 1960s and '70s. Now, in the year of our lord 2024, gay meeting spots have moved to digital spaces that are not all-inclusive far from it. Most prominent among them, Grindr a gay dating app for smartphones and its similar cousin, Scruff, give you the option of classifying yourself into various "tribes" based on your body type and interests. Both apps allow you to filter the profiles you see by guys' age, race, weight, and other characteristics.Still, the move to digital makes sense. Outside of urban areas, gay men are often far apart from each other. Before the Internet, they faced the daunting challenge of not only crossing great distances to meet others but determining who out there was queer to begin with. Sure, there were gay bars, but they offered the distinct challenge of having to choose among the limited patrons or going home hungry.Dating websites came along and cut out the middleman the bar while simultaneously expanding the options. When Joel Simkhai, Grindr's founder and creator, brought the experience to our smartphones in 2009, a star was born. According to its website, "Grindr is the number 1 social network for the LGBTQ+ community. With more than 13 million monthly active users in virtually every country in the world."I was proudly one of them. I love digital dating and have had accounts on multiple apps and websites for years. But two weeks ago I decided to pretend that Adam4Adam, ManHunt, DaddyHunt, AssPig (don't judge), Grindr, Scruff, Recon, Hornet, Jack'd, GROWLr, Mr. X, Tinder, and the host of others do not exist. I recently moved to Los Angeles and I wanted to see if I could meet guys the way my predecessors did when Grindr was a wooded park after midnight. Halfway through, here's what I've learned. 1. Certain bathhouses give you discounts if you're under 25.When I discovered this, I knew it was likely because most of the clientele was above the 25 age mark which proved true but that didn't keep me from venturing out at 11 p.m. to the nearest all-night sauna. The reason I was researching bathhouses is that, after two days, the itch that Grindr scratches was throbbing badly. These apps do a remarkable job of keeping you horny and hunting, even when you're doing mundane, unsexy tasks like going to the grocery store, eating a burger, and doing laundry. Take that away and my hour-by-hour impulse to cruise had no vent. Forty-eight hours was all it took, which either shows their alarming addictive quality or my alarming addiction to them.2. Don't take sips of Gatorade from anyone at a bathhouse. It's filled with G (gamma hydroxybutyrate, a club drug that is easy to overdose on and lethal when mixed with alcohol). I knew this rule of thumb from making the mistake at a gay circuit party two years ago, so I asked the dude, "Be real with me. Is it just Gatorade?" His honesty confirmed my fears: "No."3. You notice the world around you more.Los Angeles may not be the most beautiful city in the world, but there are beautiful parts of it. There is no better place to be on Labor Day than on the Santa Monica pier, and there is no harder place to find parking than near the Santa Monica pier on Labor Day. Shirtless and sweating, I felt giddy as I joined the throng of people eating funnel cakes and riding roller coasters over the frigid Pacific Ocean. I actually lost the impulse to check Grindr for a solid two hours. It was incredible, heightened by a sense of really being there without Grindr's familiar, bubbly ping every few minutes telling me a message was in.4. You appreciate your favorite gay bar more.I started to feel lonely. Much of my sense of community is sustained by my place in a grid of selfies on a screen no bigger than my hand. Most exchanges between me and other gay men start with "Hi mister" or "Hey boi." Without those messages, I found myself traveling to the L.A. Eagle twice (twice!) last weekend and actually starting conversations with men there. I believe that gay men need each other. We often pursue sex as the only form of connection and sometimes it's enough but what we sometimes need more is just a conversation. Not to be overly sentimental, but there are parts of my life that I can only talk about with a fellow queer. Ours is a powerful shared experience that, no matter where we come from, tends to follow a common trajectory from intense isolation to sudden sexual companionship: We go from closets to the club and are forced to navigate alone through both. The result is a brotherhood of often harsh people who cannot admit their loneliness. I realized that whatever ill the apps do, they at least provide a 24-7 reminder that even when you're sitting alone in your cubicle or closeted in your home, there are men out there who want you and need you too.5. Cruising in person is admittedly better. On my first day in San Francisco last year, I made a stupid mistake. I was waiting for a urinal in a mall bathroom. There was only one available and one other guy in the bathroom, who was using it. But for some reason he was standing very far back from the urinal and shaking his massive member as he peed. Watching him (and his dick), I thought, Why is he standing so far back from the urinal like that? It wasn't until after he looked at me and waited by the sink before finally leaving did I realize what just happened: a tragically missed opportunity. I was determined not to make the same mistake in Los Angeles. On the first day of my no-tech challenge, I went to a famous gay restaurant in West Hollywood and my waiter was very cute. Normally, I would have said nothing and just searched for him on Grindr, which uses the geolocation devices on your phone to find nearby users. But this was a moment where I needed to talk to a handsome, real-life stranger with no digital safety net and no way to block him if it went badly. Calling him to the table, I used my classic pickup line: "What time does this place close?"What followed, beautifully and awkwardly, was an actual conversation. And although I was looking for fun, what happened instead was more akin to making a friend. Yes, it did turn into a hookup, but the person-to-person exchange changed my wants a bit something that has never happened to me online. Both of us seemed to come away from it surprised that these things still happen. All it took was a little bravery and the absence of that little orange app on my phone. So what *did* I learn?Over a month ago, I challenged myself to stop using hookup apps. I confess: It was easy to go without Grindr, Scruff, Recon, Daddyhunt, Adam4Adam, MISTER, or any of the other hookup apps during the final two weeks of my sabbatical, because halfway through them was the Folsom Street Fair. For one weekend, Grindr and Scruff were completely forgotten. Hot, hairy, kinky leathermen from all over the world had booked every hotel room in San Francisco, and most of them would be gathered into a few narrow blocks in San Francisco's South of Market district, many clad in leather harnesses, for the infamous fetish festival. And although sex was certainly a major goal of the weekend, it was not the only reason I was excited to go. I wrote an op-ed for The Advocate about how Folsom is an important event for anyone whose sexual interests fall outside the vanilla realm and wants to meet up with like-minded folks. For one weekend every year since 1984, San Francisco becomes a city filled with both experienced and novice kinksters, teaching each other new fetish techniques and playing hard.In other words, its a great time to cruise tech-free. I parked my car on a precarious San Francisco slope and carried my suitcase filled with leather gear to a townhouse in the Castro where I would be staying. The final lessons I took from going off the apps are certainly inspired by the weekend that followed, but they are applicable to gay men everywhere and anywhere.I stayed with a friend through the weekend, and together we made plans to hit the best parties happening across the city. At one point during the official pre-Folsom dance party, Magnitude, my friend stood at the bar talking to a cute guy who kept checking his phone. Finally, my friend patted the guy's shoulder and said, Dude, get off Scruff. Look around you. Its here. The view was pretty stellar. Guys didnt actually start having sex on the dance floor until closer to the end of the party, but there was a large tent erected in the parking lot that acted as the official backroom. Inside the tent were spaces partitioned off by black tarp and chain-link fence. Some of the spaces had leather sex slings that would have been immensely more comfortable if they had leg straps. Cruising the apps was needless I was already at the fun.If you choose to take a break from hookup apps, dont do it because of "app shame." Gay men have always hunted for sex, objectified each other, and treated each other poorly. The apps have hardly destroyed gay life they have simply digitized it. Meaningful connections are truly hard to find on Grindr, but in todays fast-paced world, meaningful connections are hard to find anywhere. So if youre considering a sabbatical, do it with a spirit of adventure and curiosity, not because of generalizations youve made about guys online or about the apps themselves generalizations that are more likely a reflection of your own insecurities rather than the perceived flaws of others. It was a long and crazy weekend. After every party, my friend and I stood outside in the cold, waiting for our Uber. Something magical happens in those moments between the circuit party and the ride home. People emerge from the dark and you see them as they really appear. Guys you thought had perfect bodies look less perfect. Couples start holding hands again. Everyone is a little bewildered to discover how much time has passed. As the drugs wear off, everyone is reminded how life continues outside our mad little world. After a few nights like this, I stood on my friends doorstep with my suitcase, ready to say goodbye. And right there, I realized he was a good friend, someone I could talk to about my fears and insecurities, someone I could call if I was drunk and needed a ride home.I met him on Scruff over a year ago. We initially hooked up, but since that time we have become more than a hookup to each other. This is gay culture, the one I live in and see every day; friendships often start with sex, friendships often lead to sex, and friendships often include sex at some point. If anything, this should illustrate how needless it is to vilify hookup apps. Sex is what we are going to do, because it is what we have always done, and there's nothing ugly or shameful about it. It is an ancient human instinct that gets horribly repressed, feared, and fussed over in today's climate, when it should be celebrated. Anything that brings us together whether it is Grindr, Scruff, a dating website, or a sex dungeon should not be scoffed at, because we need each other. My friend told me to text him when I made it back to Los Angeles, and I knew he meant it. He cared. He was family.I'm back on the apps now, but I'm definitely using them less. It was more fun to meet guys in person, but harder. The apps offer an easy way to tell guys what you're into sexually or what you're looking for; you just write it on your profile. Cruising in person requires you to say, "I want to have sex with you so bad, and this is what I want to do." But I must stress how awesome and empowering it feels when you finally bring yourself to say that far better than a texted "'Sup?"ALEXANDER CHEVES has written articles on sex, dating, and relationships for GC Magazine and is an intern with The Advocate. WWW.PRIDE.COMHere's how to know he's actually into you (and not just being polite)He loves me, he loves me not, he...loves me?Dating is hard and sometimes the hardest part is simply figuring out if a guy likes you or if he's just being nice. Everyone knows the story: Youve been on a date or two and those damn butterflies be beating apart your stomach. You think he likes you, maybe, but what if he doesnt? What if hes just being polite? Leading you on? Telling you what you want to hear? Before you lose your mind, take a breath. Were here to help. Here are 20 signs hes actually into you, and not just stringing you along.Sign #1: He straight up tells youIt can be a bit of a shock, and it can also seem too good to be true sometimes, but there is the occasional man who will actually just be upfront and tell you when he's into you. A crazy concept, I know, but it can (and does) actually happen.Sign #2: He doesn't play any gamesNobody likes to be toyed around with, and nobody likes the games. If he's not playing any games with you and it totally seems genuine, he may actually be into you.Sign #3: He texts you without needing a prompt. This is a big one. If youre always the one starting a conversation, its hard to tell if youre ever really on his mind. But if he texts you first, it means hes initiating the communication. A good sign!Sign #4: He uses emojis in his messages. This may seem silly, but in this day and age, emojis are part of our digital vocabulary. Some guys just arent emoji users, so youll have to get to know his style a bit, but if youre always throwing a wink, a heart, or a kissy-face his way with not even a smiley in returnit could mean hes just not that into you.Sign #5: He calls, instead of texts.A phone call? Whats that? Yes, we can actually talk on our smartphones. And if a guy foregoes the text and goes right for the phone call, that definitely means hes down to get to know you more.Sign #6: He makes the plans for the next date.If youre not into someone, you either tell them, or ghost them, hoping theyll forget about you. But if a guy is eager to spend time with you, hell make sure you have plans to hang out. If hes the one setting up the next date, you can bet hes into you.Sign #7: He asks questions. When youre just being polite, you usually let the other person talk, adding in a few uh-huhs and yeahs to show them youre (sort of) paying attention. But if your date is engaged in the conversation, asking questions and wanting to know more about you, its a good sign!Sign #8: He invites you to his place. If hes just being polite, and doesnt see things going further, hes definitely not going to let you know where he lives! If you get the invite, its a thumbs up for sure.Sign #9: He invites you to stay the night. This is part two of the previous sign. So, youve made it to his place. Good sign. You watch a movie, or have dinnermaybe a little more! Then, instead of calling you an Uber, he asks you to stay the night! Yeah, hes into you.Sign #10: He talks to you during the day.If youre only getting Hey, you up? messages at 3 a.m., he might have only one thing on his mind. But, if he sends you a message during the day, saying hi, asking how your day is, telling you a funny story, all signs point to something more than a booty call!Sign #11: He introduces you to his friends.Bringing someone youre dating to meet your friends is no small gesture. If he was just being polite, theres no way hed open up to you like that!Sign #12: Your dates are more than just dinner and a movie.Dinner and a movie dates are so junior high. Sitting through a movie doesnt give you the chance to talk and get to know someone. So if its always a night at the movies, you may be getting the cold shoulder.Sign #13: He reveals something embarrassing.Maybe its a childhood story. Or a nervous tic. Whatever it may be, letting your guard down and revealing something embarrassing is not something youd do for just anyone. If hes opening up, hes probably into you!Sign #14: Hes honest about wanting to see other people or not. Some may call it having the conversation. If hes willing to talk about the status of your relationship, that usually means he sees it continuing in some form. Maybe hes into you, but prefers open relationships. Maybe hes into you and doesnt want to see other people. Either way, if hes sharing his feelings, it means youre important to him.Sign #15: He buys you something. Now, this doesnt mean hes showering you with expensive gifts (necessarily), or that the only way people can show affection is through material things. But, if he buys you flowers, or a ticket to a show, or picks up the tab at dinner, it means he doesnt mind spending some of his money (as well as his time) on you.Sign #16: He invites you on a trip.Ding ding ding! No sane person would invite someone they werent into on a trip. It means youre together for long periods of time, sharing hotels, car rides, and adventures. If a trip is in your future, you can bet he really really likes you!Sign #17: He tells his family about youThis doesnt mean you have to meet his family, but if he tells a sibling or a cousin or a parent or anybody else who shares any type of blood relation to him about you, he may actually be into you. Bonus sign, if he does want you to meet the fam, hes for realsie serious.Sign #18: He posts about you on social mediaHe doesnt necessarily need to tell the world he belongs to you. But if youve taken a picture or two together that you see pop up on his feed, maybe accompanied with a cute caption, he might be subtly letting everyone know whos really got his interest.Sign #19: He's curious if you're talking to anybody elseHey, hes told you about whether or not he wants to see other people. Before he initiates that conversation, he may also just be curious about your dating life as a whole. Maybe its him thats questioning your interest instead of vice versa?Sign #20: He cooks for youHoney, if he pulls out the pots and pans and whips something up for a meal together, hes a keeper. It doesnt have to be a gourmet meal, but any time or effort spent in the kitchen making sure youre fed is a sure sign hes actually interested.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 19 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMSimple tips for your first gay bathhouse experienceHeaded to the bathhouse for the first time? Here are some things you need to know.Youve heard about gay bathhouses. They get a bad rep as dirty, vile places that gross old men go to for anonymous sex. If thats your current opinion, its probably best to wait. Going to a bathhouse requires a certain level of open-mindedness because the fact is that many bathhouses are filled with older gay men, and many of them do go there for anonymous sex, but that is neither gross, dirty, or vile. Bathhouses can actually be pretty fun, so if youre curious, definitely give them a try. For your first trip, heres a list of tips that will make it a good experience. Lower your expectations.Of course, it's hard not to let your mind wander when you hear things about the bathhouse. It's easy to let fantasies run rampant as you envision what your first experience is like, but do your best to lower your expectations when you go in. It's almost like having sex for the first time -- it probably won't be perfect, but it'll be good enough for you to want to come back over and again.Cautiously challenge your comfort zone. It's okay to have boundaries, and it's okay to stick to them. When you're heading into the bathhouse, stay on your guard as much as you feel comfortable with, but slowly allow yourself to release some of the inhibitions you've placed on yourself to stay open to what the experience brings.Be confident.Your first time at a bathhouse can be a little intimidating. Actually, it can be a lot intimidating. The whole picture everyone in their underwear thing takes on a different meaning here, but thats okay. Just be comfortable in the skin youre in. Remember, physical contact isnt a requirement here, even if it feels like it should be. Just relax, have a good time, and enjoy the experience.Bring cash. Some bathhouses are cash only, and if youre there long enough (and engaged in strenuous physical activity), youll want water from the vending machine.Watch, when you can.Voyeurism is a thing, and at the bathhouse, theres plenty of people who like to be watched. If youre feeling iffy about touching anyone, just sit back and enjoy the show, if that suits you better. Just make sure youre not crashing their private room, and also that your eyes are actually wanted.Bring flip-flops.Many bathhouses wont let you go barefoot. If your local bathhouse does, dont. Shoes can be clunky and will probably get wet. It's a bathhouse, after allyou wouldnt wear high-tops in a steam room. Bring your cheapest, oldest pair of beach flip-flops.Bring a draw-string bag.Theres a reason women carry purses. Purses are brilliant inventions, and its ridiculous that so many men are afraid of carrying them. Women figured it out ages ago: a small bag is the most useful thing in the world. At a bathhouse (or sex club or circuit party) this is doubly true: a small drawstring bag over your shoulders is ideal for carrying your valuables, especially if you want to opt out from getting a locker (which will likely cost extra, on top of the admittance fee). Small bags are even more useful if youre planning to strip down to your towel or underwear (or go nude).Pack a douche and some lube.Im a bottom, so I carry my silicone lube and a douche in an Adidas bag to bathhouses, sex clubs, raves, circuit parties, and even run-of-the-mill bars where I think I might get lucky. The simple fact is that even after a thorough cleaning, you can never completely predict or control the body. Whats the point of paying to get into a sexual environment if youll just have to go home in the worst-case scenario? Bringing a douche means that worst case scenario is remedied by a trip to the bathroom.Don't share drinks.I included this in my op-ed "Going Clear: 40 Days, 40 Nights Without Grindr," but it deserves getting repeated. If someone offers you a sip of their Gatorade, its probably filled with G, also known as GBH, which is short forgamma-hydroxybutyratea club drug that is easy to overdose on and lethal when mixed with alcohol. The most common form of G appears as a clear liquid, and you only need a few drops to feel the affects. Therefore it is impossible to determine whether or not a Gatorade bottle or water bottle has G in it, or how much. An overdose on G can make you very sick and land you in the Emergency Room. A bad overdose can land you in the morgue. The best way to avoid G is to bring (or buy) your own drink and watch over it throughout the night.Be careful with drugs. You know how to avoid Gits the easiest drug to be tricked into taking. Its harder to be tricked into taking molly or meth. The safest practice when it comes to drugs is to not do them, but if youre going to, you should know the risks. Molly, or MDMA, on its own is relatively harmless, but often the drug is cut with other substances that can make it dangerous. Meth is one of the most addictive substances on the planet (right up there with sugar and nicotine, which are miraculously legal), and is a particular plague for gay men. Steer clear.Be nice.Like you, theyre just there to have a good time. If they flirtand if they touch and grope (its going to happen)tell them youre not interested and move on. Theres no need to be mean.Sex isn't required. If youre nervous about the sex, remember that you can also indulge your voyeuristic side and just watch, or be watched. And if the bathhouse has a pool, as many do, you can swim. Many bathhouses have gyms, lounges, and "rec room" style areas where you can just chill out. Just remember that you are, in fact, at a bathhouse, so if advances are made or sex is happening just around the corner, you are where you are for a reason.Be open.It might not end up being your thing. But keep a spirit of adventure and dont put down the patrons that enjoy the dwindling bathhouse scene. Bathhouses are just bathhouses, nothing more or less. They were once a staple of gay life, and now they are scarce relics of a cruise culture that is rapidly disappearing. The most written-about gay bathhouse was the infamousEverard Baths in New York, which closed in 1985.Some say bathhouses have been replaced by hookup apps like Grindr and Scruff. Others say that todays queer public milieu of marriage equality and family life has shifted tolerance and publicity away from the hypersexual side of gay life, stamping out venues that cater to gay sex in the process. While both claims hint at the truth, the latter is more of a politically charged publicity stunt than a true change of gay behavior. Visit the annualBlack Partyin New York if you think gay life has gone tame.Don't go alone. The first time I went to a bathhouse, I went with a buddy who knew what to do, who had my back if I got nervous, and would leave if I wanted to leave. I didnt get nervous and eventually had a good time, but I appreciated having a friend who I could follow around and talk to while I built up my courage. Bars, clubs, and parties are always better with someone you trustyour local bathhouse is no different.Act out a fantasy. What better place to do it? Maybe you want to be watched, maybe you want to join a group, or maybe maybe maybe. Weve all got fantasies, and some people are too afraid to even think of exploring them. The bathhouse is a great place to experiment with something youve been wanting to try, especially with the overall energy youll find here.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 19 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMTikTok is obsessed with this 90-year-old who just came out after 63-year lavender marriageA 90-year-old grandmother is winning the hearts of queer people across the internet after her story about a decade-spanning lavender marriage and her decision to finally come out as bisexual made waves on TikTok."My grandfather was a gay man who was starting to see success in Hollywood as an artist and graphic designer and my grandmother was a bisexual Colombian immigrant in nursing," Christian Owens wrote in a TikTok posted in November. "They met in West Hollywood and became best friends instantly so they knew that they had to protect each other at all costs."It wasn't long before Elida and Don were married, eventually having two daughters.According to People, the couple was honest with each other about their sexualities from the start. They came to an "arrangement" that allowed dating outside of the marriage, but Elida admits that despite having a "beautiful life together," "not being able to be our true selves made us feel like we were in a prison."Still, they remained committed until Donald's death in 2021, at which point Elida came out to her family."It's never too late to love who you love, and theres nothing wrong with loving who you love," Owens told People.@faultywiring0709I am so truly blessed. #fyp #TikTokPartner #pridetiktok #lgbt #lavendermarriage #Despite keeping up a public front for prying eyes in a different time, the picture Owens paints of her grandmother is one of a woman who was deeply involved in the LGBTQ+ community throughout her life in the ways she could beattending Pride, helping during the AIDS crisis, and even participating in the Stonewall riots. And it sounds as if her grandfather was frequently right there at her side.Owens' family's story has encouraged others to share their own family histories of lavender marriages and secrets made necessary by a society that wasn't ready to accept LGBTQ+ people."It pains me to know that some ppl didn't get to live their lives like they wanted to because of old standards," one viewer commented, "but at the same time, a lot of us wouldn't be here."0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 22 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMHow do you stay friends after a breakup? Experts weigh in on this tricky transitionBreakups are rough, but one of the hardest parts is the fear that youre not just losing your romantic partner but a good friend, too. Although there are plenty of toxic or even abusive relationships that arent worth salvaging, there are plenty of people weve dated who we dont want in our beds anymore but would love to hang out with as friends.Plus, statistically, there just arent that many queer people (especially if you live in a smaller town), so if you want to be friends with and in community with other queer folks, you may have to figure out how to be buddies with your ex.Becoming friends after a bad breakup is hard to accomplish, which is why weve reached out to licensed marriage and family therapist Hannah Reeves and Angelika Koch, a relationship and breakup expert at LGBTQ+ dating app Taimi, to figure out how to end a relationship while leaving the door open for a real friendship to develop. But transitioning from lovers to friends can be tricky and the path to becoming BFFs can be full of landmines. So, how do you do it successfully? What steps should you take if you want to break up but would like to remain friends?Breakups are almost always difficult, but if you want to remain friends, then gentle honesty is the best policy, Reeves tells PRIDE. "The first step is to be clear about your intentions. No vague 'it's not you, it's me' and definitely no cryptic, 'I just need space,'" she says. "I always tell my clients that clarity is kinder in the long run as they aren't left wondering what went wrong. If you want to stay friends, say it, but make sure you're not dangling a carrot of hope for something more." Koch says that making it clear that friendship is important to you can go a long way toward making that transition easier for both of you. "It's important to begin with letting this person know what you've been thinking about while also explaining how deeply meaningful the friendship is to you," she explains. "Being vulnerable is the most important step you can take when it comes to changing the dynamic from a relationship to a friendship."What additional steps should you take to become BFFs after a breakup?Once you've had the uncomfortable breakup conversation and you both have agreed to try to become friends, give it some time. You and your former paramour may need a little time and space before you're both ready to become besties. "Refrain from contacting them for a while. It's not ideal texting them at midnight to ask if they're okay," Reeves advises. "Give it at least a couple of weeks or longer, before trying to transition into friendship. That emotional reset is non-negotiable. If you reach out too soon you might be met with resentment or continue to string the other person along."If you really want to stay friends with an ex, setting firm boundaries and sticking to them is also key. "Don't talk about your sexual partners, dates, or things that could possibly make this person feel hurt or uncomfortable. Keep the conversations away from a deep emotional connection, as that can confuse them when things start to change," Koch says.Is it possible to maintain a friendship after a breakup? The unfortunate answer is that it really depends. If your relationship was toxic before the breakup, or you fought all the time, it may be harder to bridge that gap and build a healthy friendship. On the other hand, if youre open and honest and set firm boundaries, you have a good shot at making it work. Honestly, its a mixed bag. Some people pull it off brilliantly, others end up blocking each other for good, Reeves explains. The likelihood depends on whether youre both on the same page emotionally. Maybe you both felt the relationship wasn't going anywhere or just weren't ready yet. Having a mutual understanding of your relationship is usually what makes this possible. When the affairs are one-sided, it makes it way more difficult to remain friends afterwards. What are some of the common pitfalls of trying to be friends with an ex?It may seem like a no-brainer, but not respecting your partner during or after the breakup may destroy any chance of becoming friends. That means being careful not to give them hope that you may get back together, but also dont rub new relationships or hookups in their face especially when your budding friendship is new.Don't do things that could possibly lead your ex on. It's important not to give them a false sense of hope by telling them that maybe in the future you can go back to being a couple, Koch says. Its also important not to do things to make them jealous or make them feel like they are not enough. What can you do to make the transition to friends easier?Transitioning from lovers to friends may be a piece of cake or may take careful planning and trial and error before you get it right, but the benefits of keeping someone important in your life make the trials and tribulations worth it in the end. To give yourself the best shot at a new friendship with your partner after the breakup, Koch says respect and boundaries are going to be the most important things. "Always stay firm in your boundaries when moving from a relationship to a friendship," she says. "You can be friends with an ex, so long as there is consistent respect on both ends and you're able to both move forward in a healthy way."Reeves says to remember to "take it slow" and be honest when things aren't working. "If friendship is meant to happen, it'll develop naturally over time," she explains. "But be realistic about what you both can handle. Staying friends isn't a moral obligation. It's okay if you need to close the chapter completely. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is set a boundary and stick to it."Experts cited:Hannah Reeves, LMFT, relationship therapist and writer at Private Sugar Club.Angelika Koch, a relationship and break-up expert at LGBTQ+ dating app Taimi.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 23 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMCan lesbians ever have too many tents? Comedian's viral TikTok has us gigglingA lesbian comedian's back-and-forth with an audience member lamenting her wife's obsession with buying tents is bringing the camping lesbians out to play.Kristin Key had been in the midst of doing crowd work during a show in Australia when one audience member bluntly shared what she considered to be a problem in her marriage."My wife keeps buying tents," she called out."Sounds like a lesbian problem," Key quipped as the rest of the crowd laughed.@kristinkeycomedy Can you really have too many tents? #camping #lesbian #camp @comedy #standup (recorded live in Sydney @comedystoresyd)A love of camping is one of those stereotypes lesbians just aren't going to be beating anytime soon, right up there with driving a Subaru and wearing Birkenstocks. Doesn't even matter if these things are true or even widespread anymore, they're just an undeniable Known Fact of lesbian culture. That was made even more clear by responses to the clip, as the comment section of Key's TikTok was filled with kindred spirits."I have 3: a 6 person, 10 person, and 2 room cabin with a front porch. Plus a changing tent. And a sun shade beach tent," wrote @toebeans_and_rice."To be fair, they have different purposes!" @runningtomtns insisted. "You need a backpacking one, a car camping one, a massive one that all your friends can fit in together when there's a downpour so you have a place to all hang."And sometimes you just have to embrace the culture rather than fight against it."Dude, I don't think there's anything wrong with her; I think my wife's just made a new friend," Key ultimately admitted after an amusingly escalating back-and-forth. "So I don't know what your question was. I'm assuming it's 'Why is my wife so fucking awesome?' I don't know, but you gotta hang on. You gotta stake her down, if you know what I mean.""That's what we're doing with the lesbian army," she added. "We're just going to build tents."Alright, who's bringing the carabiners?0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 22 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMOut and About with Billy EichnerBilly Eichner is back as the voice of Timon in the highly anticipated live-action prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, directed by Academy Award-winner Barry Jenkins, with music by Grammy Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.Known for his sharp wit and Emmy-nominated work on Billy on the Street, Eichner once again breathes life into the beloved meerkat, bringing his signature humor and charm to the screen. While Timons adventures are entertaining millions, we caught up with Billy to talk about his own real-life adventures in our latest Out & About interview.Eichner shares his favorite NYC spot for casual dining, his surprising celeb picks for seatmates on a long-haul flight, and a refreshingly simple hack to make travel more enjoyable. We also dive into his admiration for Central Park, his dream role, and where hes longing to visit. Whether hes stealing scenes as Timon or reflecting on his deep love for New York City, Billy Eichner continues to entertain with a voice as authentic as it is irreverent.Favorite hotel?BE: Recently Ive liked The Dominick in Soho. I like it in the warmer months because its close to Hudson River Park.Must have travel essentials?BE: Very basic, fragrance-free, anti-bacterial hand soap. Im not a germaphobe, I just dont like flowery, fragrant hotel soaps. I bring my own. What's your go-to movie to watch on a plane?BE: I dont really have one. If Im going to watch a movie, I want to watch something I havent seen. I like to use long flights to watch some recent long movie that I havent had the time or patience to watch. Which puts me in the strange position of flying to party somewhere like Provincetown or Fire Island while watching something like Killers of the Flower Moon. Whats your go-to book that you return to from time to time?BE: I dont really reread books a second time. What Im more likely to do is rewatch old interviews or concert clips with entertainers I love. Or award show speeches. Favorite NYC restaurant?BE: I love eating but Im not a foodie, so I never know where the hottest new restaurants are. I wish I did. I order from Westville a lot because its healthy and it comes in like 15 minutes. Im on the go!What advice would you give LGBTQ+ travelers who may feel hesitant or anxious about visiting places that might not be as inclusive?BE: Personally, I probably would never go anywhere which didnt have some baseline acceptance of LGBTQ folks. I wouldnt feel comfortable. But thats just me.Youve somehow wound up on a 15-hour flight to Australia, wedged into a middle seat in economy class which two celebrities would you choose to sit beside you and why?BE: Tommy Lee Jones and William H. Macy. Theyre older straight men whod probably be quiet and not talk too much and thats the way Id want it.Can you share a travel tip or hack that has made your journeys more enjoyable or convenient?BE: Being rich. I wasnt always so I really appreciate the perks! As a native New Yorker, are there any unique or lesser-known spots in the city you would recommend to our readers?BE: Its not lesser known obviously but Im always surprised by the New Yorkers I know who never go to Central Park. Ive only become a regular visitor to Central Park in the last 10 years or so, even though I grew up in New York City, and I am madly in love with it. I highly recommend it if youre not someone who goes there regularly. Its a masterpiece its gorgeously art-directed and is just a magical, glorious place. If you could guest star in any current T.V. show, which one would it be, and what kind of character would you want to play?BE: Id like to be on Yellowstone, and I want to play a character named Mr. Yellowstone. He can really sing! What do you miss most about living in NYC, and are there any only in New York experiences you still crave?BE: Im still in New York all the time. I couldnt live without it. Im there about once a month. Its my hometown and still my favorite place on Earth. As for an only in New York experience, I try to get to the theater there as much as possible.Timon is such an iconic character with a big legacy. How do you bring your own unique spin to him while staying true to the character that fans know and love?BE: I think I probably have a similar comedic sensibility and, broadly speaking, a similar style to the OG Timon, my friend, the legendary Nathan Lane, who I adore. So that probably helped a bit and was part of the reason I was initially cast. Other than that, I just have to trust my own comedic instincts and trust the guidance of my directors, Jon Favreau in 2019 and now Barry Jenkins with Mufasa, and of course, it helps that Im not alone I get to be part of a comedy duo with Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, who is so warm and generous and fun to work with. How was it working with Barry Jenkins as the director of this new chapter in The Lion King story? Did his vision add new layers to how you approached Timon for this film?BE: Barry is obviously a masterful director, so it was a huge honor to get to work with him. Im really impressed by the amount of complexity he was able to bring to a family film with the characters in Mufasa.Travel has been a big part of The Lion King storys themes exploration, self-discovery, and developing diverse bonds. How do you think these themes will resonate with audiences today?BE: I think a lot of people go to the movies today in order to escape the real world for a few hours and feel like theyre traveling somewhere new and Mufasa is the perfect movie for that. The action-adventure sequences are truly incredible. It made me feel like a kid again I was on the edge of my seat watching it. It is honestly thrilling and a truly great escape from the world, and I think people are really going to have fun watching it.Lastly, whats a destination still on your travel bucket list?BE: Ive never been to Japan and Im dying to go!0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 23 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMWhat to know about 'T-Boy Wrestling,' the sexy sport with trans guys that has us thirstingBig Hetero has tried to give a straight spin to sports for decades, but many LGBTQ+ people are finally seeing the light: a lot of sports are exceptionally queer. While football remains the dominant American sport and indeed dominated by the straights, that's fine because football is boring. But some sports are actually not boring! Like most pop culture, if it's cool, there are queer people involved.Women's basketball? Exceedingly gay (men's basketball, take notes). Hockey? GAY. And wrestling? We've known since the days of ancient Rome what wrestling is really all about. Wrestling has been homoerotic for time immemorial, but now it's getting a uniquely trans spin. Now, stepping into the ring, here comes T-Boy Wrestling. What is T-Boy Wrestling?See on InstagramT-Boy Wrestling is an event put on in Los Angeles by Adam Bandrowski, the founder of Trans Dudes of LA, and co-organizer Mich Miller. It is an event for trans wrestlers of any skill level and any expression of trans masculinity. The only requirements are being transmasculine and a desire to get grappled. After noticing the often one-note representation for trans men, and the lack of trans specific socials even in somewhere as queer as Los Angeles, Bandrowski started Trans Dudes of LA a little over a year ago. They've held other highly successful events including but not limited to: a concert for all transmasc band The Pussyboys, a pole dancing contest, and a tattoo party.T-Boy Wrestling continues TDLA's work of creating a thriving community of trans masculine individuals in LA, and expanding ideas of what trans masc expression can look like. "Their goal for T-Boy Wrestling has been to highlight an expansive idea of trans masculinty that includes people who are still figuring out their relationship to gender," Bandrowski and Miller said in an interview with the LA Times about the event."Come see what you identify with, and if it helps you figure yourself out, we are happy," said Bandowski. How does T-Boy Wrestling work and how sexy are the matches?See on InstagramEach match consists of three rounds, each one-minute long, with two t-boys wrestling one on one, head to head. During those 60-second intervals, these hunks try to dominate one another. A win is called once both shoulders of one competitor are pinned to the mat. Hot.One official judge for the event agrees wholeheartedly. Cal Dobbs, 27, told the LA Times why events like this are so powerful in a period of such intense trans hate. "[Republicans] are scared of us because we're too sexy," said Dobbs. "Scientifically, trans masculine and trans men have better butts than cisgender men. ... As professional judges, weve been looking at everyones butt. The spectacles inside the ring are only limited by the competitor's imaginations and their commitment to camp. According to the Times, the antics seen during the bouts included: "gratuitous twerking; a prosthetic leg becoming an improvisational weapon; a whipped cream pie smashed against the face; a banana pulled out of boxers, peeled and eaten in front of an adulatory audience."How successful has T-Boy Wrestling been?See on InstagramJust like professional wrestling, much of what went down in the ring was planned beforehand and rehearsed. There was also a great deal of prep done by Bandrowski and Miller. A playlist was meticulously curated, and ASL interpreters were hired for the event. In preparation for the big night, 200 hot dogs were cooked, but no one could have known it would be TDLA's most successful event to date.500 tickets were sold in person for T-Boy Wrestling, and another 500 spectators watched live via Twitch. Hopefully, 300 of the attendees were vegetarian. Spectators and competitors alike traveled from all across Southern California, with some attendees traveling 5 hours by car just to be there.T-Boy Wrestling is now prepping for even bigger and better events in 2025.How to participate?See on InstagramThe application is currently open for competitors at T-Boy Wrestling in LA on March 22, 2025. WWW.PRIDE.COMAdam Dalton Blake: Celebrating Individuality Through Cheeky Pin-Up ArtThe Origin of an Iconic BrandAdam Dalton Blake is not just an artist; he is a vision of unapologetic self-expression. His journey into the world of art began long before the world of pin-up art fully embraced him. Originally pursuing graphic and fashion design, Adam found that the fashion world often lacked the vibrant, cheeky, and bold designs he craved. This creative gap led him to embrace a form of artistic expression that would later become his signature style: playful pin-up art featuring exaggerated masculine and feminine features. When I couldnt find fabrics with male pin-up designs, I decided to create my own, Blake shares. This initiative was the spark that ignited a passion for blending bold masculinity and femininity in a way that resonated with countless individuals. His style wasnt just about bold colors and pin-up poses; it was about creating art that expressed freedom and individuality. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake What started as a personal project quickly gained traction, and Blakes distinctive illustrations began to appear on a wide range of productsfrom apparel and greeting cards to prints and posters. His creations, filled with vibrant colors and bold characters, became a form of self-expression for those who loved the idea of embracing both sides of their personality, unapologetically. Blake's work is playful yet thought-provoking, inviting viewers to think about the ways in which gender, identity, and self-expression can be explored through art. With every print, he encourages a deep connection to oneself while making people laugh along the way. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake A Fusion of Pop Culture and ArtAdam Dalton Blake draws inspiration from pop culture, history, and a wide array of art styles, but his approach to incorporating humor and wit into his illustrations sets him apart. Blakes zodiac series is a perfect example of his ability to reinterpret well-known imagery and blend it with his cheeky aesthetic. "The zodiac series is one of my favorites. It's always fun to see how my audience reacts to how Ive interpreted their astrological signs," Blake says. The interplay of colors, symbols, and facial expressions in each piece elevates the zodiac signs essence and infuses it with a fresh and modern spin. Its art that doesnt just hang on the wall; it speaks to the viewer, creating a dynamic connection. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake Social media has completely changed how we create and share art, Blake continues. I can interact with my followers in real-time, see what resonates, and refine my work based on their feedback. His fans play a crucial role in his creative process. Whether its a new zodiac sign, a funny greeting card, or a limited-edition tote bag, Blake listens to his audiences feedback to fine-tune his designs. This collaborative spirit, combined with his love for bright colors and playful imagery, helps him craft art that speaks to the heart of modern-day pop culture. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake From DragCon to Global RecognitionBlakes art reached new heights in 2023 when he debuted at DragCon, a crucial moment that allowed him to showcase his artwork to a massive, supportive audience. "The experience at DragCon was transformative for my brand," he recalls. "It was the first time I showcased my work on such a big scale, and the response was beyond anything I could have imagined. Seeing people interact with my prints and wearing them with pride was a huge affirmation that I was on the right path." His booth, adorned with his signature colorful prints, greeting cards, and tote bags, quickly became a hub of activity, proving that Blakes style resonated deeply with people who embraced self-expression, inclusivity, and fun. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake Through collaborations with major brands like Brooks Running and LIFEWTR, Blake has brought his art into the mainstream while staying true to his roots in the LGBTQ+ community. His work on the Brooks Pride sneaker and tote bag allowed him to merge his artistic vision with a brand that shared his passion for inclusivity. "Designing products that blend my art with functional items like sneakers and bags has been a dream come true. Its an opportunity to share my art in a more accessible way while supporting causes that are close to my heart," he says. Photo Courtesy of Adam Dalton Blake Spreading Laughter and JoyBlakes goal is simple: to create art that brings joy. Life can be serious enough at times. We need moments of levity, humor, and frivolity to balance it all out, he says. His artwork encourages people to embrace joy, express themselves freely, and never take life too seriously. Whether its through a quirky greeting card, a fun piece of home decor, or a cheeky shirt, Blakes creations are all about making people smile, laugh, and feel empowered to be themselves. WWW.PRIDE.COMMAGA is furious about viral post saying Republicans 'have two daddies now' and we're howlingWhile losing the election to the Republicans was a huge disappointment, things have only gotten worse since Elon Musk glued himself to Donald Trump's side and started to act as a shadow president before the MAGA leader has even takenoffice. On the other hand, this has also triggered a slew of social media posts and memes that are so funny they are single-handedly getting us through this week! One of the funniest now-viral posts on X (formerly Twitter) comes from frequent Trump critic Alex Cole, who wrote, "Maybe it's just me, but Republicans having two daddies seems kind of woke." This joke is especially funny considering the gay joke when completely over the heads of the Trump fans in the comments and how many MAGA followers unironically like to call Trump "Daddy."People also took to the comments to wonder about who's the top and who's the bottom in the relationship and quip that Vivek Ramaswamy and Vladimir Putin are pulling Trump's puppet strings too, with jokes like, "Actually, with Vivek, they're a throuple," and "Three. You forgot Vladdy."We're also loving how people are calling the president-elect "Vice President Trump" and all of the memes showing Trump kneeling before Musk or portraying Trump as the Tesla owner's butler. Trump's ego is so fragile you know it's driving him nuts. We can only hope he gets angry enough to kick Elon to the curb.Listen, would the jokes be even funnier if Musk wasn't currently the co-chair of the MAGA leader's new Department of Government Efficiency (yes, the acronym is DOGE) and wasn't trying to destroy democracy and the US economy from behind his keyboard? Of course. But we still need a good cathartic laugh every once in a while, so we'll take them where we can get them!Keep scrolling to see Trump and Musk being endlessly roasted by the internet! WWW.PRIDE.COMThe Bottom's Digest dishes on bottom-friendly holiday recipesAh, the holidays: a time of turkey, mistletoe, andif you're anything like Alex Halla little culinary magic that keeps your gut (and your romantic plans) in check. As the founder of The Bottom's Digest, a platform dedicated to bottom-friendly recipes, Alex has reimagined the intersection of food, sex, and self-care. The concept of "bottom-friendly" dining might make some blush and perhaps think of nothing but a meal of freshly-cut ice cubes and a hearty serving of air, but Alex is refreshingly candid. His mission? To debunk myths, advocate for queer health, and celebrate the nuances of a diet that doesn't just satisfy the palate but also supports a more pleasurable experience in the bedroom. Why Bottom-Friendly Matters View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Bottoms Digest (@bottomsdigest)Alex started The Bottom's Digest in 2021, initially inspired by the challenges queer individuals face in reconciling diet with intimacy. "I'd been hearing the same tired jokes for years," Alex recollects. "Ice cubes and starving yourself before sex? No thanks!" Hall's professional background in reproductive rights gave them a lens through which to explore food as an intersectional issue. However, it was his personal experiences and a growing awareness of the broader LGBTQ+ community's dietary concerns that truly propelled their passion project forward. He noticed how many people were disconnected from understanding their bodies and dietary triggersan issue Alex addresses with compassion and science. Enter Tim Spector, an epidemiologist whose work on gut health profoundly influenced Alex's approach to recipe development. "He's led the world's largest gut study," Alex gushes, crediting Spector for deepening his focus on nuanced, individualized eating. "There are 8 billion people on the planet, and no one's body works the same way. That's why I say: figure out your triggers and make adjustments." Holiday FavoritesWith a TwistRegarding bottom-friendly holiday dishes, Alex is all about indulgence...with intention. "The holidays are so layered for queer people," he notes. "Many of us don't go home, and some create entirely new traditions. It's important to honor that complexity." For some, traditions can still be present under a tree. Others enjoy the holidays with their chosen family. And then some may indulge in a holiday 'treat' or two, for Santa may not be the only one coming down the chimney. But regardless of the traditions, food is a way to bring holiday cheer during this time of the year. So, what's on the festive menu? Alex's dairy-free macaroni and cheese is a standout. It is loved for its uncanny ability to fool even the most skeptical dairy enthusiasts. The secret? "Don't tell people it's dairy-free," Alex quips. Other go-to dishes include fiber-rich staples like roasted potatoes and turkeyhonestly, this one was a shockerpaired perfectly with bottom-friendly sauces. Pumpkin pie, a surprising source of fiber, makes a triumphant appearance at Christmas tables. Alex has a Louisiana-inspired twist for those who want to break from tradition: oven-baked friend catfish with dairy-free cheesy grits. "It's a nod to my dad's roots," he shares, proving that even regional comfort foods can align with gut health goals. Balancing Indulgence and Gut HealthNavigating the tension between indulgence and responsibility is key during the holidays. "It's all about knowing what you're getting into," Alex says. "If you're staying with family for a week, you might not be the most horny you've ever been. But if you're sneaking away to a hookup's house, you'll need to plan accordingly." Alex's advice is rooted in flexibility and self-forgiveness. "Enjoy the indulgent food," he urges. "If you eat something heavy, give yourself 30 minutes to gauge how you feel before deciding what's next. And if you overdo it, c'est la vie! You'll digest it, you'll past it, and sex can wait until tomorrow." The real key? Avoid self-shaming. "Let yourself enjoy the moment," he proclaims. "In the kitchen and beyond." Recipes and Resources View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Bottoms Digest (@bottomsdigest)For those ready to dive into bottom-friendly cooking beyond the holidays, Alex recommends starting with The Bottom Digest's foundational recipes, like dairy-free cheese and cream sauces. These versatile bases can transform classics like green bean casserole into gut-friendly delights. And if you're sensitive to common ingredients like mushrooms or onions, Alex has you covered with easy substitutions. "The goal is to give people tools to make recipes their own," they emphasize. "We're not reinventing the whell; we're just making the ride smoother." So this holiday season, ditch the shame, grab a fork, and indulge in bottom-friendly style. Alex reminds us that life is too short for lousy mac and cheese or bad vibes before getting it on. When it comes to balancing gut health and holiday cheer, Bottom's Digest will ensure your chimney stays clear. WWW.PRIDE.COMKevin McHale reveals which 'Glee' episode was his 'actual breaking point'Kevin McHale has opened up about the Glee episode he calls his "actual breaking point."The actor starred as Artie Abrams, one of the members of William McKinley High's glee club the New Directions in all six seasons of the show. And yet, McHale opened up even more in the latest episode of his Glee recap podcast cohosted alongside Jenna Ushkowitz (who played Tina Cohen-Chang on the show). The two cohosts of And That's What You REALLY Missed podcast discussed an episode from season 5 of Glee titled "Previously Unaired Christmas" with McHale revealing that this episode was his "actual breaking point" while working on the show. Many fans consider this to be one of the most outrageous episodes in Glee history. For instance, this episode includes Rachel, Kurt and Santana inhaling helium to sing "Christmas Don't Be Late" before getting robbed by a sexy Santa; Marley, Unique, and Tina singing The Supremes' "Love Child" with Unique dressed up as pregnant Virgin Mary; and a live nativity scene where Becky, a student with Down syndrome, played Jesus as a baby.McHale offered an apology to anyone who was on set while he was filming the Nativity scene in particular."My mustache was causing some sort of allergic reaction, and I was itchy and upset, and it was late at night," he said. "[I'm] not proud, but I remember when that number came up, I was like, 'What are we doing?'"Back then, news outlets reported that this Glee episode was "too problematic" to air. As a result, the entire episode was recut into the version that aired on TV and fans have gotten to see.Ushkowitz pointed to the version of Harry Belafonte's "Mary's Boy Child" that she performed alongside Marley and Unique in the episode as a low point."It was like you had to commit so hard, because it was so bad. That's what I felt like in this number," the actress said."But that's the thing: I don't think it's supposed to be bad," McHale said. "It's supposed to be controversial But I mean, bad is good when it's funny. But I didn't think this was good this just felt like being controversial for controversial."Ushkowitz added that she "hated this song so much." She also hated "everything in this episode.""I was so angry in everything in this episode," the actress revealed. "But yet like, watching it, I'm like, 'This is ridiculous,' and it's so funny to me; I couldn't stop laughing during 'Mary's Boy Child.' And I hated the number so much. I didn't want to be there, but I had fun doing it because the stakes were so low at that point, right?"Listen to new episodes of And That's What You REALLY Missed on all podcast streaming services.See on Instagram0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 22 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMCara Delevingne dressing up like Elton John may be the gayest thing we've seen all yearCara Delevingne is rocking out in a new role, albeit definitely an unexpected one.The Paper Towns star stepped into Elton John's shoes in a remake of the music video for his ever-popular Christmas tune, "Step Into Christmas," released this Wednesday. The original 1973 video features John goofing off while performing the song with his band. It's a quirky video, bordering on bizarre, thanks to the singer's over-the-top facial expressions and the inclusion of random moments, like the one where he suddenly holds up his Watford Hornets Football Club membership card. This reimagining captures all of that with Delevingne's version of John, while providing a commentary of sorts by jumping back and forth between that and the imaginary behind-the-scenes as the production crew observes everything going on. At several points, the 2024 video even jokingly attempts to explain some of the stranger moments of the original through the crew's contributions. It also flips back and forth between treating the remake as the real deal in-universe and having characters acknowledge that, um, that's not actually Elton John.In short: it's a delightful way to update an old classic. The timing of John's decision to revisit "Step Into Christmas" over 50 years later actually makes sense. It's continued to get a lot of play during the holidays, and was certified triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry last year. As for bringing Delevingne along for the ride, that stems from the two of them trying to find a project to work together on this year."When someone suggested the idea of her playing me in a riff on the 1973 Step Into Christmas video, I just thought it was the perfect opportunity," John said in a statement. "Thank God Cara thought the same, because it came out great.""I hope that Elton may one day return the favour and agree to play me in my not yet developed, written, pitched or funded biopic," Delevingne joked. "Fingers crossed."Sold.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 21 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMHas Nicholas Galitzine gone from twink to twunk? Gays weighs in on viral picGays across social media are debating whether Nicholas Galitzine just experienced twink death and was reborn as a muscle-bound twunk after a new photo of the star went viral on social media. On December 18, the 30-year-old actor nearly broke the internet when he shared a photo on his Instagram Stories showing off the huge physical transformation hes undergone while prepping to take on the role of He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.Although the former Red, White & Blue star is wearing a long-sleeved shirt in the now-viral photo showing him standing next to a big Christmas tree, it does little to disguise the massive muscles hes gained since we saw him in Mary & George. The white shirt hes sporting barely contains his new bulging biceps, and the holiday pic also gives us a tiny peek at his muscular thighs in a pair of black boxer briefs. Why, yes, were salivating too.Of course, the photo made the gays on X (formerly Twitter) feral and has had people saying that Galitzine used to be a twink but has now transformed into a twunk or that hes gone from being a bottom to a top. WWW.PRIDE.COMThings gay & bi men should never do in healthy relationshipsJust dont do these things.Relationships are tough. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. We all wish there was a set of hard and fast rules to make them work, but there aren't. That said, there are still some things that men in romantic relationships with other men should do their best to avoid. Yes, some of these things are helpful tips for people of all genders in any relationship, but youll notice that a number of the things listed are specific to gay/bisexual men. Either way, if you're curious, here are 35 tips on things you should maybe not do if you want to your relationship to last.1. Become too codependentFirst and foremost, it's always important to maintain and remember your own identity and individuality anytime you enter a relationship. We'll talk a lot more about specifics coming up, but just do your best to remember the world does not, in fact, revolve around him and that's also totally okay.2. Let love and sex become an addictionWe all get a bit of euphoria when we first fall in love, but just like anything else, there is actually too much of a good thing, so do your best not to let either love or sex become something the two of you become addicted to or rely on. It's an important part of the relationship, for sure, but not the only thing.3. Forget to set up boundariesBoundaries are incredibly important, and sometimes they're easy to forget about when you're going into a relationship or already in one. You want to impress him, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice everything just to do so.4. Compare yourself to himWhen youre in a different-sex relationship, its much harder to compare yourself to your partner directly. But if youre a man dating another man, its difficult NOT to compare yourself to your spouse. Nevertheless, try your best not to. Nothing good can come from this. You are two different people with different strengths and weaknesses. He may have a better body, but youre a kinder person. He may make more money, but you may help more people. You want someone to balance you, because of this, there will be things he is better at than you are and that's 100 percent ok.5. Compare him to your exesComparing your new man to your old man is a big no-no. Hes not supposed to be like the guys who came before him. Theyre exes for a reason. You dont want to be dating someone whos exactly like your ex. That relationship didnt work out!6. Tolerate homophobic remarks from familyYou or he may come from a homophobic family who calls your sexual identity a lifestyle. They also may harass you with other homophobic remarks. A healthy same-sex couple does not tolerate homophobia from family. If your family harasses your partner with intolerant remarks, stand up for him.7. Don't get jealous of random guysIts tough not to get jealous when guys check him out and not you or guys always flirt with him and not you. It makes you feel like the uglier one in the relationship. And if you are, so what? It means youre dating up. It means he likes you for more than your looks. It means youre a real, awesome person!8. Lie about your wants, needs or desiresDont say youre ok being in an open relationship if youre not. Dont claim youre not looking for something serious if you are. Similarly, dont lie in the other direction, because youre afraid of hurting his feelings. Dont say youre ok with a serious relationship if youre not. Be honest about what you want from him and the relationship.9. You can say "no"Its surprisingly difficult to say, no, especially to the people we really care about (unless, youre a bitchy queen, then it's probably not that hard). But it's crucial in a relationship to be able to say, no whenever you feel uncomfortable.10. Not reciprocating sexuallyYou need to be generous lovers, doing things for both you and him. A relationship with a selfish lover never works out (unless its a particular BDSM/kink dynamic).11. Belittle himA little joke here or there is fine, but constant jokes are no longer funny. Embarrassing your partner repeatedly or belittling him in front of his friends is not acceptable.12. Force him into the closetYes, there are some circumstances when a boyfriend asks you to closet yourself in front of an old, dying homophobic grandma or something like that, but Id say 95 percent of the time, he shouldnt ask you to closet yourself. It took him years to come out. The struggle was real. Youre asking too much of your partner to re-closet himself, even if its for a short period.13. Ask him to give up his friendsThis is a form of manipulation and abuse. Some men use their insecurities, neediness, and tears to manipulate you into doing things. One of those big things is giving up your friends to spend time with him. If this happens, leave the relationship. He is manipulating you.14. Get jealous when he checks out other guysOr let me rephrase this. You can get jealous, but dont get angry or do anything rash. Please, feel free to call him out on it, especially if he makes a bad habit of checking out guys way too conspicuously. But remember, hes human. Theres no harm in looking as long as he doesnt touch.15. Spend too much time on your phoneIt is so rude and annoying. Yes, if youre both lying in bed, on your phones, and making small talk, thats fine. But during dinner, or when hes trying to have a real conversation, get off your damn phone!16. Make him read your mindI had an ex tell me, I just want you to know that I want that. How? Queer men are many things, but a mind reader is not one of them. Dont expect anything. If you need something, and its important to you, make the clear. Be direct. Be upfront. Be honest.17. Let arguments fester until you explodeI cant even begin to tell you how guilty I am of this. Do your best not to stew in negative emotions. If something is upsetting you, you need to say something to avoid festering in it. Otherwise, what ends up happening is you get furious at something relatively trivial because youve been harboring such negative emotions towards your partner.18. Take a nasty tone with himDisagreements happen. We screw up. But no matter what, no matter how angry you get, you need to treat him with respect. This means you can never take up a nasty tone with him, no matter how annoyed you are.19. Make him feel unsafeThis should be obvious, right? Sadly, thats far from the case. Oftentimes, because we have trouble saying no (see reason #6) our partner gently pressures us into doing something that we dont feel comfortable doing. Dont be that partner. You should know if your partner has trouble saying no to things. Dont take advantage of that. You should be doing the opposite -- really making sure he feels comfortable and safe because you know hes not likely to say no to you.20. Bring up any and everything during a fightA fight or argument should focus on a particular issue. You either did this one thing, or you have a tendency to repeatedly do these group of stuff that I don't appreciate. The conversation should be about that one issue. Dont bring up every single little thing that he has ever done wrong that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. If those things bother you too, save them for another time and conversation where you can focus on those specific topics.21. Forbid him to talk to all exesI was kind of torn about putting this on here, but I think its important to add. I dont talk to serious exes. Im friends with many guys I dated/slept with casually, but men Ive previously loved and had a very intense relationship with, I dont talk to. In my opinion, nothing good can come from it. For me, its tough to move on when Im still friends with a close ex. And frankly, I dont need any more friends. Nevertheless, many gay men are still friends with guys they seriously dated. Good for them! You need to trust your partner when he says theyre just friends. You cant forbid him from talking to exes. You dont own him like that. You can express your reservations about it (e.g., You know his ex was manipulative, so youre wary of their friendship), but you cant force him to do anything.22. Blame him for everythingEverything is not his fault. Sometimes its your fault and sometimes, its no one's fault. Shit just happens. Dont blame him for everything that goes wrong.23. Secretly using hookup appsSo this pertains more to when youre just starting a serious relationship, right as youre getting to know him. Dont be on hookup or dating apps when youre with him. If I'm honest, I have done this in the past. Id check my Grindr/Tinder when he went to the bathroom to see if another guy has messaged me. Be in the moment. Theres plenty of time to check out Grindr later when youre pooping on the toilet.24. Lie to him about your sexual activityThere are real health risks to sex, as all gay men know. Dont lie to him about your sexual conduct. Dont say youre not sleeping with someone else if you are. Dont say youre having protected sex if youre a cum dump for anonymous loads.25. Use your insecurities to keep him aroundThis is a classic sign of manipulation. Using your insecurities to make him do things for you. Its insidious and manipulative. Dont be a terrible partner.26. Skip date nightsDate nights matter, because they are when you are taking time just for the two of you. By skipping them you are sending the message that your partner isn't a priority.27. Let the romance dieThis is another reason you dont skip date nights. You dont want the romance to die. Make sure to do sweet things for him like sending him flowers, commenting on how handsome he looks and expressing your love for him.28. Demand sex/settle for mediocre sexDont demand sex. Similarly, dont settle for mediocre sex. If one of you is not in the mood, dont do it. Wait until youre both in the mood. Its not fun having sex just for your partners happiness. It leads to mediocre sex for everyone.29. Avoid vulnerabilityBe open. Be honest. The vulnerability is terrifying for everyone. Of course, it is. You always run the possibility that you open yourself up to him and he rejects you, but its a risk you have to take. You cant have a real relationship without vulnerability.30. Conflate your wants and needsSome things we want. Other things we need. Dont confuse the two. Dont demand things you want, and dont settle for not getting the things you need.31. Forget why youre dating himThings will undoubtedly get tough at some point in the relationship. Thats just how relationships work. Never forget why youre dating him. Never forget his positive attributes and the reasons you fell in love with him.32. Hold in how you feelYoure growing together, and its scary to share your deepest insecurities and vulnerabilities. Its okay to let the growth happen. Share your biggest fears and desires, and set the world on fire.33. Tell the world your businessThe whole world doesnt need to know all of your drama. Sure, its great to have some close friends and confidants to share with when the going gets tough, but if someones meeting your man for the first time, they shouldnt know all the above-mentioned dirty secrets.34. Forget about the sparkIts never good to force yourself to be with someone. If the spark has faded, and neither of you are really putting in the work, it may be best to have that conversation. Otherwise, you may end up doing something like...35. CheatYes, this also circles back to using apps behind his back and lying to him about your sexuality, but its even deeper than that. Dont betray your partners trust. All youre doing is causing everybody pain, so if youre not in an open relationship (or even if you are), dont do anything with anyone you wouldnt want your partner to know about. Otherwise, cue Carrie Underwood.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 26 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMTrump's terrible new mullet hairstyle is going viral and the internet can't stop roasting himDonald Trumps weird hair has gone viral once again, but this time, instead of it flying off of his head, he was caught on camera sporting a ridiculous new mullet.Yesterday, the internet couldnt stop roasting Trump after a video went viral of him walking into his own golf club and attempting to give a speech while people ignored him. But today, people are focusing on a new detail from the viral video: the MAGA leaders strange choice to sport an ugly slicked-back mullet. Its dictator in the front, idiot in the back!Trump is no stranger to bad hair days. His hair flapped off of his head during his criminal trial, he looked bizarrely bald in a recent photo with Elon Musk, and the wind seems to be his comb-overs constant enemy. Predictably, his supporters are thirsting after his new do and calling him Mullet Trump because they are just as uncreative with nicknames as their leader. Since his fans love to copy everything he does even if that means wearing diapers we suspect before long, MAGA followers will start sporting bad mullets, too.His new hairstyle may just be the result of hat-hair after being on the golf course, but we dont care because the jokes on X (formerly Twitter) are too good. From people comparing his bad mullet to Buzz from Home Alone to someone quipping that they didnt have Trump getting a mullet on their 2024 bingo card to people saying he looks like a grandma now, we are cracking up.As hilarious as this all is, though, we are going to need Trump to go back to his old comb-over abomination before he ruins hot lesbians rocking mullets for us.Keep scrolling to see the funniest reactions to Trump trying and failing to rock a mullet! WWW.PRIDE.COMFans are reading Nick Jonas for filth after he seems to support Elon Musk and we're howlingJonas Brothers fans are roasting Nick Jonas after his odd choice to seemingly show his support for billionaire mogul Elon Musk on Twiwe mean X.On Tuesday, Musk took to his own social media site to brag about Tesla's profits being "up 100 percent" since President-elect Donald Trump won the election by posting a Jonas Brothers gif with the caption, "My, how the tables have turned!"Normally, this would be one of a dozen annoying posts Musk vomited onto X in a given week, but instead, the youngest Jonas decided to repost the Tesla owner's tweet with a photo of Musk with the caption, "Take us to the Year 3000." (@) (@) Fans immediately ran to X to read Jonas for filth and call him out for his seeming support of Musk, who has glued himself to Trump's side in recent weeks, spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars on Trump's campaign, has been named co-chair of the MAGA leader's Department of Government Efficiency (aka DOGE because Republicans think they're clever), and has consistently used his social media platform to spread Trump propaganda.Jonas' post quickly went viral, and since the pop star has never endorsed a political candidate in the past (although the Jonas Brothers did film a video with President Joe Biden in 2012), fans were quick to start roasting him for supporting Musk while he bragged about Trump's win helping his company.Fans immediately started begging Jonas to delete his post, expressing how disappointed in him there are, with one person telling Priyanka Chopra to come "get your man." (@) (@) "And just like that you'll never have another hit again," another fan wrote, while someone else joked that we need to "Make celebrities normal again."But possibly the funniest read came from the person who wrote, "BREAKING NEWS: Luigi Mangione will be replacing Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers after dumb fucking tweet."Keep scrolling to see more hilarious reactions to Nick Jonas' unfortunate post! WWW.PRIDE.COMLuca Guadagnino's 'Queer' delivered on the full frontals, but did the actors use prosthetics? When it comes to sex in film, one thing is for sure: At times, it can definitely shock us.Granted, it isnt necessarily the type of shock that has us clutching our pearls, but is rather the type of shock that makes us wonder, just for a moment, if weve accidentally put on a different type of adult film.A recent example of a film that made us blush is Queer by Luca Guadagnino, which just released nationwide on December 13. We already knew this would be a sexy and provocative film that would give us more nudity and sex than Guadagninos previous venture with Call Me By Your Name, and the full-frontals in the film certainly delivered.See on InstagramIn case youre unfamiliar, the film is based on a 1985 novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs, which also serves as a partial sequel to his 1953 novella, Junkie. It centers around an American Navy serviceman, Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey), who becomes the focal point of the obsession for the much older William Lee (Daniel Craig), an American expat and struggling drug addict in Mexico City.Eventually, after some convincing from Craig's character, the two wind up heading out to South America in search of a telepathy-inducing psychedelic in the jungle. The journey between the two includes a lot of nudity, a lot of sex, and a lot of investment from the actors, including Omar Apollo, who made his film brief but notable movie debut as one of Craigs other onscreen lovers. In a recent interview with TIME, Guadagnino, Craig, Starkey, and Apollo all addressed the heavy sex, with Guadagnino saying, For me, this is not about gay or homosexuality, its more about: Are we ready for connection? What is preventing these characters from having a full-blown connection?See on InstagramThat full-blown connection involves some very eye-catching and fully nude visuals, of which Starkey admitted he used a prosthetic, which is a common practice to help actors during sex scenes. We got to embarrass ourselves in front of one another, said Starkey. And have little accomplishments in the choreography with each other. That imbued its way into everything. As to why he didnt go full frontal himself, Craig said of the others, Theyre young. Theyre young and beautiful. To the sex, he admitted theyve gone for that sort of vulnerability and keeping it as real as it possibly can be, with hopes that translated well onto the screen.Apollo, on the other hand, didnt confirm nor deny whether he used one for his role. Until further notice, we're just going to allow ourselves to pretend we got to see it all.Catch Queer out in theaters now, and keep an eye out for its streaming release.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 59 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMJasmin Savoy Brown's new 'Today in Gay' pod promises daily queer joy just when we need it mostDaily news is suffering from the same problem that much of the media is facing: It's simply not queer enough. What if there was a version of NPR's Up First or the New York Times's The Daily, but gayer? The Gayly, if you will. Well, here's a change of pace for you we have great news."Today In Gay is your safe daily queer news podcast. Its the place you can tune in as a queer person or an ally to hear headlines affecting the queer community in 15 minutes or less," Yellowjackets star Jasmin Savoy Brown said in an interview with them. Savoy Brown had teased their new project on Instagram in late October and early November, only telling fans that the podcast would be very gay, that she would be executive producing, and that Our Flag Means Death heartthrob Vico Ortiz would be one of the hosts. Say no more, we were already hooked.See on InstagramHere's what else we learned from the interview: Savoy Brown serves as EP of Today in Gay, along with one of the cohosts, Nay Bever, and Today in Gay's editor and composer Lauren Klein. The daily LGBTQ+ news podcast will be cohosted by Bever, Ortiz, and Bex Taylor-Klaus (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Dumplin'').The first episode will launch exclusively on Substack on December 30, and will then be available wherever you get your podcasts starting January 1. Savoy Brown said the format would be similar to other daily news podcasts, and while it won't shy away from the more brutal queer goings on, the tone will trend towards the hopeful. "Our goal is for it to be 15 minutes or less, Monday through Friday, but were kind of chatty. But its never more than 25 minutes. And we like to open the show and end the show with good news," said Brown, adding, "I think its really important for us to remind ourselves and our community that good things truly are still happening. As stressful as it can be to stay informed about all of the bad things going on, I know that for myself, its really impactful when I hear the good news because I can be a little cynical, a little negative, and it really pulls me out of that."See on InstagramOrtiz and Bever will host more traditional news, while Taylor-Klaus hosts their own segment, "Gay Goss." Savoy Brown described Taylor-Klaus's portion of the show. "Gossip is a big part of gay news," she said, continuing, "and gossip historically has been how a lot of people have stayed informed and what a lot of people have needed to stay safe in their community. So its just a really good, funny quickie part of the show that Bex is just kind of made for because theyre online and they have a good sense of humor and were all kind of sharing those funny online things anyway, but then Bex gets to bring it to us in two minutes or less. And then if theres something within that that is particularly intriguing, then Bex has the space to do a deeper dive bonus episode on that.See on InstagramSavoy Brown and Bever met when Savoy Brown was producing an episode of Bever's docuseries, Queer for Fear. Their creative chemistry was electric from the get go. Savoy Brown said, "It was just instant mutual obsession that we both were trying to keep under wraps and I thought, this person is brilliant. She needs a bigger platform. What can I make for her? Around the same time, I had this idea for a queer news podcast."From there, the two firmed up a pitch for Today in Gay, and while we can all see that this show will be an instant hit, mainstream media has failed to do the same. "Nay and I developed and pitched this show everywhere. Name a podcast network, we pitched it," said Savoy Brown, but unfortunately, "They said no. And finally this summer we were like, fuck it."Today in Gay is, at this, completely funded by Savoy Brown, who is hoping to continue the podcast through support from listeners and LGBTQ+ companies looking to advertise on the show."I am fortunate to have a really nice paycheck recently with Yellowjackets and the Scream movies that Ive done. Why dont I take that money and put it back into my community? And so I'm funding this myself until hopefully we get enough Substack subscribers and ads. Maybe the podcast networks didnt realize how much we were worth, but maybe some sex toys or vitamins will and theyll give us money to promote them," said Savoy Brown.See on InstagramThose looking to support the podcast can do so through their Substack. But Today in Gay isn't just looking for monetary support, but support in building a thriving queer community dedicated to celebrating queer news big and small, far and wide."We are partnering with Substack because in addition to their support for us, they have the ability for us to create a community, and that is the core of what this show is," said Savoy Brown. She explained more about what the team is looking for, "We want to source local gay news, as Vico and Bex were saying, we want to know what good gay news is happening in your life, in your town, and this is a place for you to share that with us and maybe we can share it on the podcast. But beyond that, and more importantly, we just want to create a safe space for folks."Listeners can also call in the podcast's Google Voice number with their own queer news and Gay Goss. Savoy Brown said, "If you have good gay news that youd love to share, leave us a voice memo or voicemail. Just know that if youre leaving us a voicemail, youre consenting to us playing it on the podcast. But that number is +1-551-333-5247."You can follow Today in Gay on Instagram and TikTok, subscribe to their Substack, and watch the full trailer down below.See on Instagram0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 59 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMA video of people ignoring Trump while he tries to brag goes viral & has the internet cackling(@) Donald Trump may have just been elected president, but even people at his own golf club dont want to listen to him, and we cant stop laughing.Today, Patriot Takes on X (formerly Twitter) posted a video clip of Trump walking into a crowded room at Mar-a-Lago and trying to give a speech while people walk around him and ignore everything hes saying. This may be the first time weve ever related to people who would go to Trumps gaudy golf club.Trump, of course, is bragging about the election while sporting a bizarre mullet hairstyle and a white polo shirt with his name printed on it. We had a great victory. It was really we won everything, he said before raising his fist in the air to a pathetic smattering of applause from what sounded like just a few people. WWW.PRIDE.COMAre Shailene Woodley and Roberta Colindrez a thing? Heres why the two are sparking Sapphic rumorsActress Shailene Woodley is sparking rumors that she's dating Sapphic dream boat and A League of Their Own star Roberta Colindrez after the two were reportedly seen kissing.Last week, celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi reported that Woodley was spotted "getting cozy" with Colindrez, who she is currently starring alongside in the off-Broadway play Cult of Love.Eyewitnesses told the Hollywood insider publication that they saw the co-stars looking like more than just friends while having a Thanksgiving dinner at the historic Fraunces Tavern in New York City."Honestly, they were super cute and definitely looked together," the source revealed to DeuxMoi. "They were making out all night!"Woodley came out as bisexual back in 2014 in a Hollywood Reporter article and has consistently made headlines for her much-gossiped-about (and recently ended) relationship with NFL quarterback Aaron Rogers and for unfortunate quotes like saying, "I'm not a feminist."On the other hand, Colindrez who recently lent her vocal talents to the Audible adaptation of Alison Bechdel's beloved Dykes to Watch Out For has kept her romantic life most out of the spotlight until now.According to DeuxMoi, the pair got friendly while sharing the stage for Cult of Love, where their electric on-stage chemistry has been generating buzz, but now it seems they may be taking their rumored romance into the public eye.If the two are really dating, we can't wait to see the queer couple walk the red carpet together!Shailene Woodley and Roberta Colindrez did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PRIDE.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 60 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

Not so with Kipo, which introduced both her friend Benson and his sexuality right from the jump. His coming out scene is handled sweetly, as is his romance with Troy.Where to watch: Netflix2. 'Sailor Moon'Synopsis: A group of schoolgirls discovers they are incarnations of super-powered alien princesses and use their abilities to defend the earth. Why we love it: The original English dub infamously tried to remove the queerness from this series by making Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus cousins instead of the lovers they so obviously aways were but queer 90s kids werent fooled. WWW.PRIDE.COMChanel Stewart speaks out after Disney cuts trans storyline from 'Win or Lose'Pixar Animation Studios, owned by Walt Disney Studios, has reportedly cut a transgender storyline from the upcoming Disney+ series Win or Lose. It is one of many cases where Disney made the choice to remove certain storylines and/or characters that could represent LGBTQ+ youth in mainstream animated films and TV shows.Win or Lose, which will premiere on Disney+ on February 19, 2025, follows a co-ed middle school softball team called The Pickles. Each of its eight episodes focuses on a character's life off the field life following a particular player, coach, and/or parent. One episode featured a character discussing their gender identity. However, those lines have all been removed. "When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline," a spokesperson for Disney told The Hollywood Reporter. The trans actress who was going to play this character on Win or Lose, Chanel Stewart, is now speaking up about that storyline being removed."Oh my God, it was crazy, the 17-year-old actress told Deadline. I wore it as a badge. I wore it with pride. I wore it with honor because it meant so much to me. The thought of authentically portraying a transgender teenage girl made me really happy. I wanted to make this for transgender kids like me."Stewart's mother, Keisha, also shared a statement with the publication:"It was upsetting because my daughter is transgender and this is her life. I felt like it was very important that we not hide that fact. There may be some parents out there who are not ready to have that conversation, but this is the world that we live in and everyone should be represented. Everyone deserves to be recognized. And it felt like it was just another setback for the LGBTQ community, because it's very hard on transgender teenagers () transgender people, period. Especially when you're young and you're trying to figure out how to navigate this world that you live in and be able to grow into your own person." "I was very disheartened," Stewart added in the exclusive Deadline report. "From the moment I got the script, I was excited to share my journey to help empower other trans youth. I knew this would be a very important conversation. Trans stories matter, and they deserve to be heard."According to Disney, Stewart's character is "still a part of the show heavily."Stewart countered that statement, saying: "It's just that my character would now be a cis girl, a straight cis girl. So, yeah, that's all they really told me, and that I was still a part of the show." (@) In the past few years, Disney's record with queer representation in children's media has been criticized. In 2022, a group of "LGBTQ+ employees of Pixar and their allies" released a statement alleging that corporate executives at Disney demanded they cut "nearly every moment of overtly gay affection" from all Pixar projects, "regardless of when there is protest from both the creative teams and executive leadership at Pixar," which was reported by Variety. That same year, a same-sex kiss in the film Lightyear was initially removed. As reported by Variety, the kiss was subsequently restored by the studio. In 2024, IGN released a comprehensive article noting that following the box-office disappointment that Lightyear turned out to be which was reportedly blamed on the same-sex kiss controversy among leadership Disney execs are now "uncomfortable" with queer themes overall.Regarding a central character in Inside Out 2, there were "continuous notes to make Riley come across as 'less gay,'" including changing the lighting of certain scenes. Special care was also put into making the relationship between Riley and Val, a supporting character introduced in the film seem as platonic as possible. Also in 2024, Disney reportedly declined to release a completed episode of the series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur that featured a trans storyline, as reported by PRIDE. The story notes that the trans storyline was the reason this particular episode got pulled. In the episode, the main character's basketball team is locked in the locker room after the opposing coach overhears that one of the girls, Brooklyn, used to "play on the boy's team." The team, which also includes a nonbinary player, supports Brooklyn. United, they get out of the trap. The queer community has long loved Disney, but there's growing concern about the erasure of LGBTQ+ storylines when so many anti-LGBTQ+ bills many of which are aimed at trans youth, as reported by The Advocate are proliferating across the country.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 59 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMDoes replacing your sex toys with every partner actually f**k Mother Nature? We should all be concerned about the environment, but between the stress of figuring out how to dispose of old laptops and cell phones and what to do with the insane amount of packaging that everything comes in these days, there might be one thing you havent even considered: The environmental impact of your sex toy collection. From toys breaking to needing to replace them because your new paramour doesnt want to use the same toys you used with your last partner, the spicy devices we use during sex can be an environmental disaster. But what can you do about it?Should you use new sex toys with every partner?First of all, who can really afford to buy new toys every time you hook up with someone new? In this economy? Not us! But a lot of people feel squeamish about reusing old toys. Some are worried about sanitary issues, and others are concerned about the emotional baggage that come along with sex toys you used with an ex.Sofie Roos, a licensed sexologist, relationship therapist and author at Passionerad tells PRIDE that bringing an old sex toy, like a strap-on, into a new relationship can feel like having your ex in the room with you while youre having sex. Its up to every person to decide, but I truly think its fair to be honest with your new partner and tell them that youve used this set in a previous relationship and ask if theyre okay with you using it together now, she advises. If not, just invest in a new set its totally worth it. Strap-ons and harnesses are made to be replaced anyway! But does buying new sex toys every time youre in a new relationship impact the environment? The short answer is yes, big time. What environmental impact does buying new sex toys have? The problem with throwing out your drawer full of sex toys and replacing them every time you enter a new relationship is that many cant be recycled for instance, Fleshlights cant be recycled because theyre made out of porous plastics that can never be fully cleaned which turns them into a biohazard and those that can be are often thrown away because people arent sure how to recycle them properly. Many of these toys leach phthalates into the ground and water and remain in the environment for a long time because the chemical doesnt creak down naturally, the Sexual Health Alliance reports. It can also be time-consuming and expensive to break sex toys apart and recycle them correctly, so many recycling facilities end up sending them to landfills instead. Battery-powered sex toys are especially bad for the environment because most used batteries end up in landfills, but even the rechargeable kind have a negative impact if you throw them out every time you start dating someone new.So what are your optionsInstead of replacing old toys for a new partner, try disinfecting the ones you have.Using a condom with toys like dildos, vibrators, and strap-ons is a good hygiene policy and makes using them with new sex partners a breeze. You should also wash all of your sex toys with disinfecting soap and lukewarm water, and then follow that up with a disinfecting spray made specifically for sex toys. But Vicki Lyons, a sexual wellness expert & chief editor at Bodyjoys, tells PRIDE that even if you're doing all of this, you still owe it to your new partner to tell them you've used these toys with other people. "They should be made aware that you use your toys with other partners too so that they can make an informed decision and give consent. Using a toy with multiple people without their knowledge isn't okay. It may be that they would prefer to use a different toy or to buy a new one altogether and you should always be open to this idea," she explains.BYOT aka Bring Your Own ToysIf your new lover refuses to use your old sex toys, tell them youll wield but not supply. This means that instead of going on a shopping spree that will hurt the planet, theyll need to bring their own sex toys that they want you to use on them into the new relationship.Recycle old toysSo your partner says using toys you shared with an ex is a no-go? That means its time to recycle ones that you know youll never use again. Whether your toys are broken or are just connected to bad vibes, the company Sex Toy Recycling will take them off of your hands. After you send them your used toys, they sterilize and recycle them, even reprocessing the rubber and silicone parts and turning them into brand-new sex toys.Shop sustainablyIf you have to buy new sex toys because yours broke or your new bed mate demands it, try to buy from companies that focus on sustainability, but do your research first because companies love to use greenwashing to get your money.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 59 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COM5 moments in the 'XO, Kitty' season 2 trailer that have us screaming in bisexualThe season two trailer for Netflix's surprisingly queer series XO, Kitty has just hit the internet today!XO, Kitty, which premiered last May, is a spin-off of To All the Boys I've Loved Before. It follows Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart), the younger sister of TAtBILB's protagonist, as she heads off to the Korean Independent School of Seoul on a scholarship.Over the course of season one, fans were delighted to see Kitty discover her own bisexuality, getting caught in a love triangle of sorts between her formerly long-distance boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi) and his fake girlfriend, Yuri (Gia Kim). The upcoming season is bound to be at least as eventful as Kitty tries to work out her feelings, avoid getting kicked out of school, and deal with the bombshell her frenemy Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) dropped in the finale.New episodes of XO, Kitty are only weeks away, scheduled to premiere on Netflix January 16, 2025. In the meantime, here are the moments from the trailer that have us counting down the days!1. More Kitty crushing on Yuri (@) Fans got a good chuckle out of Yuri's cluelessness holding strong in this trailer clip. But it's pretty obvious Kitty isn't over this crush yet.2. Kitty wanting to date girls (@) In the trailer, Kitty specifically notes that she wants to make an effort to date girls rather than just pining over Yuri. From the looks of it, this is where new cast member Sasha Bhasin will be stepping in as Praveena. We're ready.3. Okay, just all the queer kissing (@) Thankfully, XO, Kitty is among the shows that have realized a world can have multiple queer characters, and we've got our choice of couples (and potential couples) to root for here!4. K-pop! (@) K-pop has been heavily featured in the show's soundtrack, and there was a little storyline in season one that briefly flirted with the world of pop stars, but the show is dropping some hints that there may be more coming up in season two.5. A wild Noah Centineo appears! (@) Fan fave Centineo was integral to the original film trilogy, but this marks his first appearance as Peter in XO, Kitty. Yep, there is plenty here to have our queer hearts fluttering while we wait for season 2 to hit Netflix next month! In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below!0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 60 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMLesbians reveal spicy reasons they love giving strap & it's so hot we might faintExcuse me but we're going to need a moment. A recent Reddit thread on the r/ActualLesbians subreddit about why lesbians love giving strap is so hot we may require a fainting couch. Ok, were back. Where were we, oh yes. Recently on Reddit asked, To people who give strap, what do you like most about it?? And the answers were amazing. From appreciating the sights and sounds, to how it affirmed their gender, to the simple pleasures of getting their partner off, these Sapphics did not hold back about their passion for strapping it on. God bless them. Sure, sometimes strapping can be an awkward struggle, its hard work and you need to know the etiquette particularly if you are using one with more than one partner but these reactions are a perfect reminder of why persevere in spite of the learning curve. One thing this thread made very clear is that its not only the receiving partners who are having a great time when the strap comes out to play. Those who don the strap are getting off just as much it seems. What can we say? Sapphic sex just stays winning like that. But what exactly are those who strap getting out of the experience? We'll let them explain it. But trust us you're going to want to sit down for this because it's about to get hawt in here. The view from the top is the best view in the house."It's the imagery, fucking her into the mattress just does it for me " Mysterious_Habit_673"I'm relatively new to things and recently did doggy for the first time, and jfc I haven't been able to get the image of her ass up in the air out of my mind (nor do I want to)" neurosquidThe sounds are everything."The heavy breaths, the moans, the whimpering, the begging, eyes rolling back into her head as she digs her nails into my back to pull me closer, the inability to form a proper sentence or walk normally afterwards, i decide what shes allowed to feel, whats not to love.edit: is this a good time to mention im single...?" Open_Ad_1201"I love laying on my back with a girl riding my strap. Seeing her facial expressions, hearing her moan and breathe heavy and tell me how good it feels, seeing her titties moving, her tummy, her thighs ugh I havent strapped anyone in maybe 10 months I need a thick brat in my bed asa"p tr4nsm4sc"The moans are GREAT. Like, I can make her melt with it, and the way she sounds is just... chefs kiss" Darkerfalz"There's a feeling of dominance to it. Pinning them down, looking them in the eye, slowly pushing my hips forward and listening to the sounds they make. I also have a crazy breeding kink which squirting straps in particular are amazing for." BigTiddyMobBossGFGiving their partner pleasure."The sounds she makes, how good it makes her feel, the feeling of her skin on mine as we move together, plus there's just something very satisfying about putting your whole body into it and making someone else completely melt also just feels kinda good on its own, more in a tease way for me but my gf cums when shes the one wearing the strap usually. I'm a giver, making someone else feel good is as good as getting off for me" Inevitable_Evening38"leaves my hands free to do other things..." Sung-Sumin"Giving her pleasure with my whole body feels amazing, and also, grinding against the dildo makes me come and it's really hot to basically come inside her " GingerPeach33"I love feeling really big and powerful when i'm wearing it but also super cool for being able to change the size if the current one is getting a little monotone and then taking it off and not having to think about it at all. i love not having to ever wonder if she's had bigger cause girl if it isn't the biggest it can be if that's even what they want LOL being a lesbian is great, all hail the strap" snowpapiIt gets them off, too!"I come mentally when fucking girls with strap, I even feel sleepy afterwards this is weird but true" Housi"This is exactly how I feel and its pretty common, according to tumblr. I get a deep whole-body satisfaction from making her come, and afterwards I dont need anything else. Im not stone, so I dont think its entirely a stone thing, but it does feel like her pleasure makes my pleasure complete!" aspidities_87"I always cum when I strap my girlfriend. Literally the best ever " veronicaarrIts not just sexy, its gender-affirming."Im nonbinary with a splash of demiboy, so for me its gender affirming! But also hearing my partner enjoy themselves is a huge turn on because I know Im the reason for it " mightthxnktwice"gender affirmation, the feeling of domming her, and the absolute pleasure it gives her. I dont particularly like penetration but I found a strap that stimulates the wearer in a diff way so its amazing for both of us :)" MMK395They feel so close to their partner."Having her legs wrapped around me while Im making love to her in missionary." Papaverpalpitations"Id have to say the best thing about it for me is feeling is satisfaction at how completely connected we can be even if the strap isnt physically doing anything for me. Its the intimate connection of being wrapped up and providing the amount t of pleasure that everyone else has described." Rightkindof0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 60 Ansichten 0 Vorschau

WWW.PRIDE.COMIs scissoring real? Queer adult content creator Electra Rayne has answersNot all sex looks like it does in porn but does that mean porn can't look like real sex?Electra Rayne, an adult content creator and queer woman herself, recently made a TikTok dispelling some of the most common myths about one of the most divisive sex practices: Scissoring. As the founder of QueerCrush, an adult content site that boasts about producing "lesbian content from an all-sapphic team," Rayne is an expert on the topic.Rayne said that as a lesbian content creator and someone married to another woman, "Is scissoring real?" is one of the most common questions she gets asked.A brief introduction: Scissoring is a form of tribadism or "tribbing." Tribbing is when you rub your genitals against your partner for pleasure, and scissoring is specifically genital-on-genital tribbing. If you're looking for a deeper dive, we have a great explainer all about tribbing here.See on Instagram"As we all know, the vast majority of lesbian [pornographic] content out there was actually created by and for straight men, and has nothing to do with queer women or Sapphism at all," introduced Rayne. "Often we see scissoring in those types of videos and it's so forced, it's for the camera. Just like most things you're doing like, weird special angles that look good but don't necessarily feel good."But just because that's the industry standard in porn doesn't mean real queer women aren't scissoring for their pleasure. "I think that has kind of created this myth that it's just simply not real at all," said Rayne, but "The reality is that everybody's different, and so there are certainly going to be some people for scissoring is not appealing at all and that's totally okay. But I've gotta tell you, there are tons and tons of people who actually do it and really enjoy it," including Rayne herself.See on Instagram"While the types of positions you see in mainstream videos might not be super common in most people's personal lives," Rayne continued, "there are tons of ways people do scissor that actually feel really awesome. Many people are actually even able to finish this way sometimes multiples times.'But sex isn't just about orgasming. It can also be a great way to connect physically and emotionally with a partner. In Rayne's experience, scissoring is perfect for that, too."The other nice thing about it is it can be a really nice form of closeness and intimacy that can still be a safer intimacy practice." Rayne explained the best safer sex practices to use while scissoring, like "Leaving underwear on one person, or using something like a dental dam or even a toy between you can create a barrier so there's not direct fluid exchange, but you're still getting as close as you can."See Rayne's full video about scissoring down below. For more info on scissoring, check out Rayne's content on QueerCrush, and this article with all the lesbian sex tips that adult content won't teach you.@queerxcrushxLet's answer one of the biggest questions we get asked: is real??
